Waking up at Stillpoint Lodge feels like waking up inside a dream — only this dream is real, and it's even better than imagined. From the moment you arrive, you're surrounded by the raw beauty of Alaska, yet everything about the experience feels intimate, intentional, and elevated. The views are simply unmatched — mountains, water, wildlife, and sky all meeting in a way that stops you in your tracks. The staff? Absolutely top-tier. Every person I met was warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to creating an unforgettable experience. I ate incredibly well — fresh, local, and beautifully prepared meals that somehow made each day feel like a celebration. I spent time connecting with new friends and, when I wanted quiet, I found complete peace and solitude in the serenity of the lodge and its surroundings. One of the most memorable highlights was spending time on Stillpoint’s stunning new yacht — cruising through the water, taking in Alaska’s coastline in complete comfort and style. It was surreal, the kind of experience that stays with you long after you're home. Stillpoint Lodge didn’t just offer a getaway — it offered a deep, soul-level reset. This was truly the trip of a lifetime. I can't recommend it enough.

Our family spent 5 nights at Stillpoint Lodge in Alaska, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. You won’t find another place like this—surrounded by snow-capped mountains, peaceful wilderness, and incredible wildlife. On acres of land just a few cabins, so it's very quiet and private. I only saw other guests during lunch and dinner, which made the stay feel even more serene. I love fishing and bear viewing, and this place exceeded all expectations in both. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the owner, JT, was fantastic—genuine and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, creative, and beautifully prepared. My only disappointment was that we didn’t stay longer. We split half our 10 day vacation at another 5 star Alaska lodge that didn’t hold a candle to Stillpoint Lodge. Stillpoint Lodge is more than just a getaway—it's a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in the heart of nature. I can’t recommend it enough.

Our group of eight just got back from an adventure filled five day stay at Stillpoint. The staff was incredible, the activities were exciting and catered to our speed, the scenery was unbelievable, the beds/cabins were comfortable and the food was fantastic. We did the Grace Ridge Hike on the first day which was challenging (in a good way) but some of the best views I have seen. On the second day we went bear viewing and could not believe how close we were to the Grizzlies. Third day was an e-bike excursion in Seldovia where we enjoyed the small town charm and speed of the bikes. Fourth day was deep sea fishing and all four of our fishers caught our limits and we now have >115 pounds of fish coming home. Then on the final day we kayaked in the glacier lake and even did a little wakeboarding in the cove. All activities were fantastic and we highly recommend them to all. However we especially recommend visiting Stillpoint. Zack and team did a wonderful job accommodating our groups different requests/preferences (food, activities, etc) and were always there with a smile - they truly take care of everything once you are there which makes it much easier to relax/enjoy your vacation. This was a one of a kind experience and we hope to make it back since there is still plenty of Alaska left to explore!

100/10- That is how Stillpoint Lodge was rated from our travelers that we just sent to this little slice of heaven on earth! Our travelers absolutely raved about their experience and how they were treated like royalty! The welcoming ceremony brought one of them to tears!! The hikes were amazing! The e-bike tour was so much fun! The bear viewing activity was their favorite. They loved how much attention is given to allowing humans to observe the bears in the natural habitat, while not disturbing them. Best part of their vacation! We cannot wait to send others back to you!

We visited Stillpoint from Texas as a party of 8. My husband and me (60's) with our three adult sons and their wives (late 20's early 30's). We try to take an active vacation with family and plus ones every other year. Before grandkids join the party I wanted to do something wild, adventurous, fun and luxurious. Alaska delivered! Stillpoint Lodge took the experience to epic. Here's a recap. We arrived Anchorage Friday night in late July 2024. We grabbed beer and dinner at 49th State Brewery and overnighted at the Hilton (hot rooms, great gym, crowded lobby) near the train station. Saturday morning we took the glass train to Talkeetna (this is cool, breakfast on board, fun commentary from the purser and beautiful scenery). We wanted to tag Denali and this was a cool way to do it. We checked in early to Talkeetna Lodge (seems like most everyone in Alaska works to make guests happy). We explored town and took a Denali flight seeing tour with glacier landing. OurTalkeetna Air Taxi pilot, Luke let one of our boys DJ and explained Denali and surrounding peaks from a climbers point of view. Stillpoint arranged for us to be picked up by seaplane Sunday morning and flown directly to Stillpoint Lodge in Halibut Cove to begin our six days of luxury excursions. Stillpoint was much more than a home base for our excursions. It was a diverse loving family that made us feel welcome and almost Alaskan. You'll read reviews about how terrific the food (thank you Matt, Carlos & Brightly), cabins (always magically clean, cozy, perfectly stocked and comfortable), massages (thank you Tara), staff (Zach, GM has assembled a team that is insanely awesome) and Halibut Cove (otters, eagles, seals, flowers, views and beauty) all 100% true! Our family book club read "The Great Alone" which perfectly set the tone for our trip. I wanted this trip to be physically and mentally challenging. I wanted us to explore Alaska in a less touristy more wild (yet safe) way. Beka, our point of contact pre trip took note and came up with a perfect itinerary. |1. Hike Grace Ridge (12 challenging miles and 3800 feet of vertical change). Dan and his dog, Griz were our lead guides and Captain Coree (because she wanted to check it out) brought up the rear. The change of terrain and weather through the day were insane (sweating, freezing, sledding, bounding barefoot through moss and the views!!!!) Do the point to point hike. It's tough on the way up but not as hard on the knees on the way down. I was really glad to have poles. Younger crowd did fine without them. |2. Remote bear viewing with Eric and Spencer. Floatplane took us to Moraine River about an hour inland where the salmon were running and the bears were abundant. We spotted the bears from the air then landed in a pond and hiked over to the river. We followed the bears up and down the bank and crossed the river for a closer look. It was amazing. Spencer is a photographer so the photos are insane. (Note: return to the lodge after excursions there is no better place to relax and happy hour and you will be ready for the Stillpoint vibe.) |3. Will, guide and JT, Stillpoint owner took us e-biking and to lunch in a cool little town, Seldovia. I'm glad we did this because it was fun spending time with Will and JT and some locals. But it was more normal... Normal to the extent anything in Alaska is normal. Still way fun! JT suggested night fishing after dinner. I didn't go but those who did loved it and the photos and fish (wow!) |4. Guys went deep sea fishing and caught a ton (loved it). Ladies hung at the lodge for nature hike, kayaks, glass beach, cooking class, massages, etc. An amazing day. |5. Hike and glacier lake with Will and Dan. We hiked to a lake (6 miles round trip) that was full of glaciers. Stillpoint had inflatable kayaks hidden for us. We paddled among the glaciers, built a fire, made smores on the beach and one of our knuckleheads took a cold plunge. Yikes! After hiking down from the lake the big Stillpoint boat captained by JT picked us up on the beach. On board he had 2 wetsuits and a wakeboard. The crazies among us spent the next hour wakeboarding in the bay surrounded by glaciers, otters and mountains. Beyond crazy fun! Thank you JT, Zack and Dan. |6. Stillpoint is far from the main Salmon runs but Chef Matt knew of a small run we could get to. Matt and Carlos (the other chef) guided us on a river fly fishing hike in waders that was a totally different kind of experience and very cool. |With Stillpoint as our home base we were able to touch and feel a wide variety of unique Alaskan activites. We had so much fun with the the Stillpoint staff and enjoyed meeting other guests. We played cornhole and threw axes and sat around the fire at night. Days are long (20 hours) and we were busy. As I share with you from back home in Texas I am exhilarated and bone weary. If Alaska is on your bucket list. Thank you Stillpoint!

We’ve wanted to do Alaska for years, but we were worried about where to stay because it always looked too “sportsman” for a trip with the whole family. We have an 8 yo boy (that part’s a slam dunk) and an 11 yo girl that prefers things more refined.||We chose Stillpoint because it looked like we could get the full Alaska experience and satisfy the whole family. It exceeded our expectations and was an exceptional experience.||Some specifics we really liked:||1. The location is a stunning cove only accessible by water (e.g boat, float-plane, etc). Very calm and peaceful as the whole cove is wake-free and full of wildlife (otters, seals, eagles). The tide swings are huge - 10-25 feet so the water is always gently moving to keep it fresh and interesting. The mosquitos weren’t too bad for us, but we were there in late June ‘23 so maybe that was a factor.||2. Our cabin was secluded and had a great view with a deck that looked over the cove (I think most/all of them do). We didn’t spend much time there because we were always doing things, but it had everything we needed. One note that I’m not sure I fully appreciated beforehand is that the bathroom is private to the cabin, but in its own little room just a few feet from the cabin entrance. All the plumbing and showers are normal and worked great. But, for those of us that get up in the night to use the bathroom, you do walk a few feet outside. Ultimately I found it to be super cool to wake up at 2:00 am, walk outside to an incredibly peaceful scene while it was still fully light outside (we were there toward the end of June). We were worried about sleeping with so much daylight, but it turned out to not be an issue for any of us.||3. The food was perhaps the most surprising. We expected good food, but this was fabulous. Beautiful presentations for every meal and it tasted great. I don’t know how they manage to do this with how hard it must be to keep the kitchen stocked in this remote location. Lots of vegetables and herbs from their garden. For example, the “special” for breakfast one day was “kimchee toast with scrambled eggs”. Not what I’d expect from an Alaska lodge, but wow it was amazing. And the oysters were the best we’ve ever had - from right there in Kachemak Bay. And they taught us how to shuck them so we ordered 6 dozen and had them shipped to us from the oyster coop on the Homer spit. Highly recommend this.||4. The excursions were great. We saw bears, caught lots of halibut and salmon, and went on great hikes. All of the excursions were led by great folks with top-rate equipment and tailored to our ability level. The first day we did a 2-3 mile hike to a glacier lake and kayaked around giant chunks of ice - it felt like a National Geographic movie. And they packed us great lunches we ate by a campfire on the shore.||5. The team that runs Stillpoint is special and has a family feel. They seem to love what they do and, because it’s such a small lodge with only a few families at any one time, you get to know the people and it doesn’t feel “corporate” or stiff. Everyone chips in to make the guest experience work - the chefs, guides, masseuses, etc. When you’re there you become part of their extended family and they really go out of their way to make it special. For example, we had trouble getting to the Homer airport due to some traffic issues on the Homer spit. They literally helped us drag our luggage by hand over a mile so we could get passed the traffic and catch our flight on time to get home. It’s a story you should ask them to share with you!||In summary, Stillpoint was the perfect mix of rustic Alaska experience with the comforts of feeling at home with wonderful people who would bend over backwards to make our stay special. Thank you to the team and Stillpoint!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Alaska for the third time, and I must say that my stay at Stillpoint Lodge surpassed all my previous experiences. Throughout my 6-day stay, I found myself wishing I had extended it to 7 days, as there were so many incredible activities to enjoy. The lodge provided a truly unforgettable experience. One of the standout aspects of my stay was the delicious food. The culinary team went above and beyond to cater to our needs, even preparing specialty snacks upon request. The staff at Stillpoint Lodge was exceptional, attending to our every need with great care and making our stay even more memorable. One of the advantages of staying at Stillpoint Lodge was the extensive range of gear available. I only needed to bring a few changes of clothes since the lodge provided everything from boots and raincoats to backpacks and hiking poles. This made it incredibly convenient and allowed me to fully immerse myself in the outdoor activities. Visiting in July proved to be a fantastic choice as the weather was splendid. It's truly a great month to explore Alaska. I'm already eagerly looking forward to returning next year. However, the ultimate highlight of my stay was the on-site massage. I can confidently say that it was the best massage I have ever experienced. I highly recommend trying Roberta; her skills are truly exceptional. If you're searching for the perfect place to stay in Alaska, where you can fully embrace nature and easily access a wide range of outdoor adventures, then Stillpoint Lodge is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't regret it.

What can I say about Stillpoint Lodge that hasn't already been said. it is a very special place if your privileged to go there. From the pre- emailed questionnaire asking you for your wants and needs and if there is anything you can't "Live without" during your stay to the attention of every detail while your on property. This place is incredible. THE Staff is outstanding! They all lineup on the dock upon your arrival. Your given a tour of the property and then taken to your cabins. They are all on the water and are immaculate. The food service animals provided by top notch chef's are first class. The Excursions planned were the highlight of course. Bear viewing couldn't have been a more exhilarating experience and we left SPL with almost 200 lbs of fish to take home. Alaska in the summer is as beautiful as it gets but if not for JT, Zack, and the rest of the staff it wouldn't have been as good. There is nothing left out when staying here. I can't wait to go back and am excited for anyone who reads this to make their reservations!! You won't regret it!

Yelp
I have been all over the world, literally -- a few times, in fact -- and Stillpoint Lodge is my all time favorite vacation location. The staff makes you feel like you're home with a big, loving family who isn't pushy. They will leave you alone -- and there's plenty of privacy! -- as much as you want -- to do whatever you want or they will cater to your every imaginable need to the highest level. The food is superb; gourmet, in fact. The grounds, impeccable. Exotic plants, Bald Eagles, flowers...words are not enough. The views -- the views!! -- are breathtaking, from the snow top glaciers and calm cove waters to the dense, lush green forests. Oh! And the activities the staff will set up for you are unbelievable. We saw humpback whales and orcas and seas lions; we went bear viewing, deep sea fishing, kayaking and more! It doesn't matter if you just want a quiet vacation to be still, do nothing and connect with nature in all of it's glory or if you're looking for an active adventure in one of the most beautiful places in the world, Stillpoint Lodge is how you do it top-notch.

Yelp
Zack and Crew, I thought I knew what constituted a perfect vacation, but I don't think I really knew until we visited here. The entire family had the best adventures we have ever had and it's the only place I've ever been where upon leaving we consider the entire staff friends. We hope to be back soon. Thanks again for an incredible experience we won't ever forget.

Yelp
I have been to Stillpoint lodge twice and I will continue to go anytime I go to Alaska. What a gorgeous location, the amenities, the food, the service, the excursions. Just top notch for anyone who wants to experience Alaska and everything it has to offer. Don't go anywhere else, such a life altering experience.

Yelp
Amazing. Perfection. That about wraps up our best vacation in years, it doesn't get any better than the unique experience that the Stillpoint Lodge provides. The lodge, quietly perched in Halibut Cove, just south of Homer Spit, has an incredible attention to detail, starting with the main lodge and cabins, to the attentive staff and meals you'd expect at a 5-star restaurant. Everything on property, artwork and sculptures included, was meticulously thought out with one single goal in mind, to provide their guests the experience of a lifetime. It starts with the process, they ask you everything about what you'd like your experience to be: hiking, exploring, fishing, bear viewing, glacier landings, kayaking, wildlife, relaxation, etc. They also ask you about any special dietary requests (fresh Alaskan seafood, of course). Your preferences are thoughtfully considered and your itinerary is ready for you before you arrive. The lodge-based activities were enough to keep me and my wife busy for an entire week, they have a fleet of motor boats of various sizes, they have a float plane, several kayaks and a lot of gear (fishing rods, rain gear, boots, etc.) on hand to make your outing complete. We added a phenomenal helicopter bear viewing that had us seeing bears all around us - to be among these majestic creatures was the most thrilling experience ever. But what sets the Stillpoint Lodge apart from the others is the people: the owners, management and staff. We enjoyed their company and felt that they were genuinely sincere about exceeding our expectations. We broke bread together, toasted one another, shared marvelous life stories and hugged, but most importantly, we laughed together, every single day. Simply put, my wife and I arrived as guests but we left as friends. We're already planning our return trip.

Yelp
Beautiful location in Halibut Cove. Very friendly and considerate staff. Excellent food. This family-owned lodge is top notch. The bear viewing excursion was a lot of fun. The hike to the Grewingk lake and glacier was beautiful. I'd love to come back.

Yelp
Can I give this place six stars? I saw someone write a review and just had to comment myself. I was lucky enough to take a five week vacation to Alaska in 2016. The first week was doing the inside passage on a cruise ship with the girlfriend at the time. The highlight was the magical glacier bay. After dropping her off at Anchorage airport this began a full four weeks of getting lost in Alaska. From taking a tour all the way to the arctic ocean (seeing how big oil shuts down access to everyone but tour groups is a crime in itself), a weekend at Chena hot springs, a week at Denali national park including a weekend at Katshina deep in the National park. From being able to see the northern lights to fishing in the Kanai River. The highlight of that amazing trip was spending three days at Halibut Cove. Where the only access is either by sea plane or boat. Every single person that works at Stillpoint Lodge treats you like family. From arriving and getting a feel for what you want to do during your time there, meeting others during the stay, to the mouth watering and organic meals. The owners and management of this amazing establishment are wonderful. The only regret I had was going when it was the end of the season. Next time it will be for a week and much earlier in the summer. I can not recommend enough kayaking in glacier lake along with icebergs. Yes it was cheesy but to say "iceberg dead ahead" brought a smile to me. Cannot wait to go back to this amazing place. It truly is a slice of heaven baked Halibut Cove. Really? Can I give it six stars?
