Being a craft beer fan, I have been wanting to check out this place all summer. I was finally able to persuade my non craft beer loving fiance to join me on a warm weekday evening.
My favourite part about the beer garden is the location. The setting is casual, relaxing, close to the water and in a prime spot for people watching. If my dog didn't feel the need to greet every person he passes with hugs and licks, he could join me here for a cold one, as they are dog friendly.
I forget what I ordered but I know it was an IPA, perhaps by North Brewing, but I am not positive about that. It was exactly what I wanted, I have yet to meet an IPA I didn't like. The staff were helpful when recommending a lighter tasting beer for my fiance. In typical beer garden fashion, the drinks are served in plastic glasses, which I really dislike. I also didn't think my beer was as cold as it could have been.
For those who lack the good taste and refinement to drink beer, they offer wine amd Bullwark cider as well.
There is a small snack menu, consisting of hot dogs, sausages and maybe a few other things. I didn't get anything as I found all of this ridicuously over priced. I don't care how local, organic or fresh something is, I will never pay nine dollars for a sausage.
All in all I am a fan. The beer is tasty and the atmosphere is refreshing. I'll make sure I wander down at least one more time this summer.
