Stinky's Bar & Grill

A few steps up from a typical dive bar, but with a similar vibe. Outdoor seating is excellent, especially on a not-so-typical sunny day in Pittsburgh. Service was attentive and friendly. Definitely try the burger - any of them - but you can’t go wrong with the classic. The fries are super crispy and thick cut, which I tend to prefer. All-in-all, Stinky's is a great neighborhood spot to hang out with friends, grab and drink, and watch some sports.

Had loads of wings and fries and a burger. All of it was great, even the chips! Always had good, generous meals at Stinky's. I wouldn't say it is expensive, but i did notice that food costs here were a tad on the higher side these days. Not out of control, though. Bartenders were attentive and informative (I didn't know a lot about all the kinds of beers available there). The big game was on, but it wasn't too crowded to be able to enjoy conversations with friends and a place to put your meal. Parking can be tight, and it really is in the heart of a residential area, so watch your volume after leaving (I know some of us somehow get louder after a pint). Lots of tables placed in different sections of the restaurant made it feel like you could move around and weren't crammed in. Really, the only negative thing I can say is to the taller gents-watch your head coming out of the men's room. Wish they would put a pad on the wall there. Ouch!

Had a great time. Food, waitresses, and drinks were amazing. Someone in our Tuesday night dinner group suggested Stinky's. What a fantastic choice. Definitely will go back. * Bonus- huge TV screens to watch the games!

This place is appropriately named. That’s the only thing it has right. Went here mid-afternoon on a Sunday. Now with it being football season, you would think their service would be on point. Nope. Quite the opposite. We sat ourselves. Table of 4. It wasn’t too busy. It took them 30 minutes to get our order. After that, the food took another 30 minutes. We finished our drinks in the meantime. Took them forever to get us refills. The food was below average. Their prices are good, but everything was just terrible. The fries? Cold. Hand cut chips? They were okay. I got a chicken salad and there was barely any chicken on it. The wedding soup was weirdly acidic? Couldn’t eat it. Just downright bad.

I've met my old group of friends at Stinky's these past couple of years. The food is very good with a great selection and reasonable prices. The wait staff has always been friendly. We sit after the meal and bs. I definitely recommend Stinky's.

I have been to Stinky's numerous times. I have been there for lunch, dinner, private events. Every meal has been very good. The service is good, with the owners stopping by to make sure everything is good. I have sat at the bar, which is very nice. Another great small family owned, business and part of the community.

I absolutely love this place. Every time the food is great. Staff is great. So much food, so come hungry. Menu has such a variety to pick from. Drinks are super yummy as well.

Great spot to watch sports or hang with your dog outside. Mixed drinks were on the smaller side, but I think this is more of a draught place and they have a menu for your dog and a solid menu.

Service was great. My sandwich was HUGE, my sandwich and fries were lunch and a late night snack. Was very impressed with the menu options, will definitely be back!

Stinky's really is a hidden gem in Lawrenceville. Tucked away but worth finding, it's the perfect spot to catch any sports game. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid-back neighborhood bar and lively sports hangout with an option for anyone on the menu. What surprised me most is the food -- it's way better than your typical bar fare. Pair that with a solid drink selection, and you've got a place that's easy to come back to again and again. If you're in Lawrenceville and want good food, cold drinks, and every game on TV, Stinky's is the spot.

I heard good things about this little bar and grill tucked away off of the main drag of Butler Street in Lawrenceville. I finally had occasion to stop on a Wednesday afternoon around 3 PM when I was in the area. I ordered a couple Christmas sales on draft which range in price from $7.59-$8 a pint. I ordered their mushroom Swiss burger which came with fries. The burger was large & fries looked hand cut. Burger was good, not best I've had but decent. I ordered the Natoli (Italian sub) to go & Reuben to go, both with chips. They make housemaid chips, and I was afraid if I ordered fries, they would be soggy by the time I got home. A few of the chips were soggy as well, but they did package a few chips separately to keep them crispy. The match of chips that were with the Reuben were extremely salty so much so that I could hardly eat them, but the other chips were crunchy and decent for housemaid chips. I seen some pictures of the Italian sub and while it actually was very good in flavor, I didn't feel like there was this much meat in it as I had seen in other pictures of the same sandwich that other people had ordered. I got a quart of their homemade wedding soup to go-it was great! Their menu is huge for a bar and they have lots of different burgers, lots of different sandwich, choices, plenty of appetizers and a few entrées. So in terms of bar food, the menu was actually outstanding. I would definitely return if I was in the area.

We needed a spot to both watch football and have lunch and Stinky's made the cut! The building appears to previously have been a residence and was later transformed into a bar. They have 3 rooms, the front being the actual bar space and the back 2 being dedicated to dining. We found a table for 5 in the way back. Our waitress was quick, despite how crowded they were, and our food came out fast. They have a million TVs and are willing to put on other games, when requested. I thought the food was good for bar food and I'd definitely come back. The menu prices are more than fair and they offer a large variety. Parking is on the street, but with all of the side streets around, it's not difficult to find one close by!

This place doesn't stink in the slightest. It actually fucking slaps First and foremost I never order potato skins or things of that nature. After discovering how Stinky does them, I'll never eat them if they're not like this. They boil the whole potato, smash it, fry it THEN load it up with the topping. Thats how it's done I got the Real Whopper burger and this thing didn't disappoint. It was massive, cooked Pittsburgh rare, egg runs and massive bun Waitress was nice to us and helpful with recommendations. The spot itself is your typical sports bar. Nothing special there

Pre-Christmas fun! This place is a vibe! I love that it's tucked nicely into the neighborhood. It is a bit tight, but all the screens around the walls make up for that. My drinks and food were good and not overly expensive. The staff is quick and attentive even when there's a full house.

Good sandwiches, okay wings, and great apps. The mashed potato balls stuffed with bacon and cheese were my favorite- and the sandwich was pretty great too. Wings were okay. Service was good but their prices were really steep for a casual bar/wings were pricey. Our tab was well over $110+ for 3 people having 1 beer each and some food. They charge $14 for 10 chicken wings so next time I'll just stick with a sandwich

Huge menu, great beer selection and the daily specials are awesome. Staff is always super nice and I love that they have outdoor seating. Also, if you're not into sitting at/in the bar area for dinner, they have a separate dining room.

Maybe I'm bias, maybe I like the staff, or maybe it's because stinkys is just an overall good place for whatever you're looking for. If you're familiar with Lawrenceville, you know that it does not have a shortage when it comes to culinary selections. You can walk down 1 mile of butler and find a variety of foods to satisfy your cravings. Despite all those options, and living in Lawrenceville, I somehow always find myself returning to stinkys. From the staff all the way to the chicken wings--I can't rave about stinkys enough. It's also a sports bar and has an outdoor area. I have nothing but compliments. Even on days where it's more quiet I still enjoy coming over here and chatting with friends/ the bar staff. I 100% checking it out if you haven't been already. My suggestion: try a burger and if you have room, some wings.

Great place to watch football on a Sunday. Quick service for drinks, food can take a little longer if it's really busy. Feels like a true neighborhood bar on game days.

Well I come here often .. I'm trying to figure out why I paid $17 for this salad and there is hardly any vegetables!! I literally paid for chicken cheese and lettuce I'm assuming.. very disappointed.. didn't eat it

Perfect sports bar, lots of TVs to watch multiple games. Good specials for food and drinks. Coming back to check out happy hour. Staff was quick and attentive even though it was very busy during. Coming back for March Maddness

This fun, busy, and friendly gem is tucked away a block off of Butler St. on 49th and.Hatfield in Lawrenceville. There are always a few groups of people chatting and laughing and doing shots on a Wednesday afternoon. The pop music is audible but not too loud. Fourteen (!) TVs each have a different sports channel or game on. Service is perfectly timed and attentive. The food menu is extensive and super-creative ( "Named "best burger and 44th in the nation" by Thrillist magazine") and has something for everyone - including the pups! They have a clever and pun-filled dedicated dog menu!! Dogs are welcome on the area in front, outfitted for now with picnic tables, but it looks like they are building a nice patio. This is a plus for me and Rooney. Stop by, enjoy a nice little selection of draft beers and some really good service and food. Maybe try the Mac N' Cheese Burger or Jalapeño Cream Cheeseburger. Huge delicious menu. Lots of bar food options - menu is over 6 pages long!!! Something for everyone. Tons of beers and a full bar. They have parking in the back and street. They serve happy hour specials, some vegetarian dishes, have live music & over 21 HDTVs. Perfect spot to watch your favorite sports team!

Being that I was in Pittsburgh and not Philly I was afraid that the Eagles game wouldn't be shown. The ladies at Stinky's hooked it up and tolerated my excitement. The food was great. Had wings and a few other fried things while waiting to see Billie Eilish. Great spot off the beaten path.

What a great place! I'm not from Pittsburgh so I was unfamiiar with Stinky's. In 2024 I was looking for a place to eat with a wide variety of item on the menu and found Stinky's on Yelp and decided to try it out. Was extreemly pleased with both the service and the quality of the food. When back this past week during another trip to Pittsburgh and it was just as good. All of the staff I dealt with were very friendly and attentive. On my way out of the restaurant someone (who I assume was the manager) asked us if everything with our visit was up to par. The people that work here seem to care about there jobs and I'm guessing it is becauase they are treated well and no they put out a good product. Will definetly return on my next visit to Pittsburgh.

Things have gotten better here recently. The bartenders still know absolutely nothing about the many beers they sell, which is a little strange. It's also one of those places where they only hire "hot chicks" as servers, which is kinda gross. Still, the food is good, their happy hour deals and daily specials are back, and it's still one of the most affordable places to eat in the neighborhood. Bonus if you like sports, they have a million screens.

Great neighborhood sports bar. Lots of TVs and they play the audio when it's pens or Steelers games. The outdoor seating is also a dog favorite (and they have a special dog menu available). Wing specials are where it's at! Wednesdays starting at 6pm and during Steelers game. The awesome sauce and stinkers are our favorites. Also a fan of the fried zucchini appetizer. Huge menu including some random entrees, pizza, burgers and hoagies. TBH we've always stuck with the wings and burgers so can't comment much about the rest. Great staff always, and other than prime Steelers time it's easy to get a table.

Food: Had a variety of appetizers that included the wings, cheese fries, Mac and cheese balls, and fried pickles. All of them were good. The quesadillas are good and the burgers are excellent. I haven't had anything bad yet and it's all, generally priced okay. Would also recommend the wedding soup! Service: They must share tips because everyone takes care of everyone, which is cool. Ambiance: Great place to go for sports as there are hella TVs. They also have a Steelers game wing deal which is pretty cool. Overall: Excellent place to go and watch a game on a Sunday, they have the Sunday Ticket TV package.

Stinky's is good. The folks who work there are super nice and welcoming and the place feels like it's meant for locals and people around the neighborhood which I enjoyed. My garlic parmesan wings, however, were not great; they didn't have a ton of flavor, took a while to come out, and were a little over-cooked. Still, I ate them, but probably wouldn't order them again. 4 stars because the beer and drink selection are plentiful and again everyone who works there is so nice. Also, the seating outside is amazing. It's a cute spot with good people and a staple if you're looking for a laidback spot in what is otherwise bougie Lawrenceville.

Great neighborhood joint w fair prices, large selection that is still legit, real comfort food (not unfrozen and reheated).

Food is always great. As is service. Definitely a beer joint but bartenders are always willing to make a classic cocktail. Food suggestions: wings (all flavors are great but really suggest honey jalapeno, hot garlic parm, hot bbq, and awesome sauce); Butler Street Buster (amazing club with French toast bread); North Shore (Philly on acid); and all of their quesadillas. Gave 4 out of 5 becauae I always smell like grease when I leave there and also because they took my favorite appetizer, sausage stuffed jalapenos, off the menu.

I wish we had brought a dog! We went for lunch so it wasn't busy at all. They had delicious specials. We didn't try their drinks. They have a cute dog menu and outside seating so that was perfect.

Stinky's is a go to spot for my friends and I when we want to watch games or get a late night bite to eat. They have a huge food menu with a lot of variety, and I've never had food there that I didn't like. We usually sit at the tables in the back area which is pretty casual, though there is a bar area at the front as well that gets a little more crowded. The staff is always friendly too and offers quick service. Highly recommend a stop at Stinky's!

Please update the menus!!! If wings are $8 the menu should show them as $8, not $7. Know that you'll also be charged a 3% "convenience fee" for any card purchase. Writing "there may be price adjustments due to supplier price increases" on the menu - and leaving it that way for years - is not fair to patrons. I like this place. It's a good neighborhood sports bar. Ownership just needs to be honest and then it'll be perfect.

Best bar food in the city ! I also recommend the meatloaf dinner and the chicken Parmesan excellent!

The positive, there is a nice wait staff and the restaurant is easy to get to though street parking can be tough. The food was not good. I ordered the fish and chips and it was beyond bland. The fries were on the soggy side and the fish had no crisp. For the price, I expect much better.

Caitlin and Trinity are amazing behind the bar. They're friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We travel to Pittsburgh, our hometown, a couple times a year and usually hit up the same local spots. We were craving chicken wings and decided to try out Stinky's. Damn good food! We are here now and the Stinky's wings and stuffed banana peppers are just too good not to Yelp about. Service, food, and atmosphere are top notch. We've found our new hangout in the 'Burgh and will be happy to let all of our friends and family know what a great job you're doing here. Thank you for a great experience.

Lawrenceville is so lucky to have a fun, casual and solid spot like Stinky's in the neighborhood. As someone who lives within walking distance to the restaurant, I've had many meals and drinks here and always leave happy. The owners and staff are wonderful humans. Especially when it's nice outside, there's no better spot to spend your time!

The owner must really hate life if you have to kick someone out just because someone else paid their tab. Called the cops and came to the house to say were not allowed back...The owner who is a older guy told me a 22 year old female while i was walking away "fuck off", sad sad sad, and the bar stinks like urine as soon as you walk in the door. Also there's two bigger dudes always there watching every single female in there that comes and goes, the bartenders don't even pay attention to you because they're so busy talking.

So, this place was near the zoo and my family had come from out of town to visit for Thanksgiving. After sifting through a list of Lawrenceville restaurants we decided to go here. Currently under construction--the exterior of the establishment is rather rustic and is in the center of Lawrenceville which is the Hipster Mecca of Pittsburgh. When we arrived; we received good service and a few of the workers currently spearheading their remodeling efforts. Anyways, the chili was good and was a nice alternative to other chili's I've had. 6/10 I centered my experience around the very uniquely named Whooper which was lead with an egg and bacon. Not quite a gourmet burger, or dive bar burger, however, the burger was better than something I would haven been able to throw together without spending $20 on ingredients. 8.9/10 The beer was was good, but I would have liked it chilled a little more. FYI: Their ranch is awesome!

It is completely lost on me how Stinky's has such a high rating. Perhaps it's the atmosphere (seriously doubt it) and the beer deals - but the menu claims to have the "best burger in Pittsburgh" and I would argue it is one of the WORST. I recently got take out for a second time, just to give it another chance. It was worse than the first time. I specially asked for a burger cooked medium because the first time is way beyond well done. This time it was the same. Dry and flavorless. Nothing about these burgers are noteworthy and the claim that it was "voted the best" has no other details like when that award was given. If it once was the best burger, things have seriously gone downhill. We also ordered wings. When we opened the box we were met with no less than a full CUP of grease filling the bottom of the container (see photo). It was foul. The oily greasy mess served no purpose and had no flavor. It was simply disgusting. Another $40 wasted at Stinky's. And I assure you not a penny more will be wasted here.

I've seriously been here so many times and I can't believe I've never reviewed. It's a really good neighborhood bar with great booze and food specials. Nice mixed crowd of young, old, white collar and blue collar. Staff has always been spot on and super friendly. The food is so freaking good you guys. In fact it's so good this place has made it to Thrillist. Usually have been here for Rant festival and a friend lives across the street so we'd often grab beers with him. I've definitely missed it here.

The restaurant experience was great. I would of given it 5 stars but parking is impossible. The Stinky's parking lot is probably only big enough for the employees. After looking for a parking spot for a half hour we ended up parking in tow away zone four blocks away. This was also at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Luckily our truck was still there when we left.

A good bar for a local neighborhood spot in Lawrenceville. The bar itself is nothing particularly special inside. Just a cool local spot. All the food I've had there has been good. Have had a sandwich (I think it was pulled pork), a burger, and ribs and all have been good. It's not gourmet food, but again, for a neighborhood bar, the food is surprisingly good. Also, there are a ton of different food choices available on a 5-6 page menu. The beer selection is also good, with a variety of ales, IPAs, stouts, and seasonal beers. Spirits aren't the greatest here, but for me, this is pretty much a beer drinking bar. I would definitely recommend if you live in the local area.

I really enjoyed visiting Stinky's Bar and Grill! My friends and I met one evening after work. It wasn't very busy and we were able to sit right away. They have a very large beer/draft list and many beers on tap. The beer glasses were obviously chilled and made the beer taste even better! We ordered the Buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer. I really enjoyed the chips that were paired with it. The Buffalo dip was good, but I would probably try a different appetizer next time I visit. For my meal, I ordered the chicken fajita wrap. It was really delicious! Their menu is so large, I would love to come back and try something else! My friend's order came out wrong, and the staff was really friendly about it and brought out the correct order pretty quickly. They were apologetic and happy to help her out. I definitely would come here again!

Great neighborhood bar, unfortunately the cigarette smoke is rather obtrusive. I like the beer selection, with lots of local craft brews on tap. There is lots of help behind the bar and service is quite attentive.

Love Stinky's food, service it's the whole package. I have taken several out of town family and friends to my favorite local bar and they all loved the place. I'm trying to work my way through the menu. Highly recommend

It's your typical Southwestern Pennsylvanian local sports bar. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and the bar was already bustling with sports fans and their dates downing mass-produced beers. The music blasted over our conversation, so we moved to the back, but the music followed. The servers were attentive and friendly enough. The space was cosy but cramped with TVs hanging from all walls. The menu was huge! Basically every permutation of what the distributor offered. There were probably 15 different hamburger options which the menu proudly claimed were the best around. I asked why theirs were the best: was the beef ground and blended on-site or something? "No, we just cook the patties that come off the truck." Overall, we had a good time. The location was great. Food and beer decent enough. The worst part was that we couldn't hear each other well.

Typical Pittsburgh Bar that charges exorbitant prices for barely edible food. The prices on the menu don't mean anything as supposedly there is a sign in the bar stating that the prices have been increased. 12.99 for a Cobb Salad is not unreasonable if it was a Cobb Salad. Instead it's a cheddar cheese covered mess. A cobb salad has portions of each ingredients displaced not everything thrown on top of one another. We were charged 14.99 not 12.99 as on the menu and 7.99 for extra chicken. The total chicken on the salad including additional order was less than 5 ozs. which costs them less than 1.00. Total cost for salad was 24.00. The wedding soup was a canned variety with rock hard meatballs and very little broth. It was 4.99 on the menu and we were charged 5.99. At least tell the customers when they order that the menu items have changed or post it on your menu so they are aware of your price increase. A note on each table or inside of the menu would also be helpful, not at the bar!! Will not return.

This was AMAZING ... great food and great service...everything was handmade unbelievable

Came here for happy hour with some friends- one of my friends is a regular and comes here weekly. The inside was newly renovated and was pretty nice. We sat at the bar for a while and then moved to a table when our group expanded. I mainly tried all appetizers, as many of them were discounted with the happy hour special, and I was NOT disappointed. Fried Zucchini- Delicious. Obviously homemade, lots of flavor. Fried Pickles- Again, clearly homemade. The spicy ranch really complimented them. So tasty. Buffalo Chicken Dip- YUM. The pita chips served with them were OUT of this world. Drooling thinking about them. Fried mozzarella- By far the BEST I've ever had. They were incredibly juicy, fresh, and HUGE. I could not get over how delicious they were. Mac & Cheese balls- Again, homemade. Huge. Delicious. See a pattern here? Everything was homemade, and everything was incredible. I was really blown away and can't wait to come back here again!

WHAT A GEM in upper Lawrenceville! Don't let the outside fool you! This bar has a "dive bar" feel. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a few drinks and appetizers! You can't beat the price for the area. You can smoke in there so be prepared to smell like smoke after you leave. The cheese sticks were amazing and they have pretzel rods at the bar for you to enjoy! Will certainly be back! Highly Recommend if your looking for a more casual/less trendy place in Lawrenceville!

Can I give a Zero??? I'm a Lawrenceville resident. I went on 5/20/21 for pens game. Got a seat at 6:50pm to watch the pens game. I ordered a quesadilla and 5 wings. I waited 1:45min and no food came. The owners wife's refused to do anything. Next she got her husband to come out and yell at me about "it's not my fault!" If you can't handle the business, don't open. I will never visit it again and tell all my locals not to as well. An absolute joke!
