We chose this restaurant because of its great reviews and we can attest to it too. We arrived around 7:15pm and were seated an hour later, so we had a nice stroll around the neighborhood while waiting. Our server was very attentive and friendly and gave us great recommendations. We got red fish, cobia and the fillet and all the three dishes were excellent. The bread pudding was our choice for desert and it did not disappoint either. Total bill was around $210.00.

We arrived at Stinky’s Fish Camp on a Sunday evening around 7 PM and didn’t get seated until close to 9 PM — definitely a long wait, but it turned out to be well worth it! The food was excellent. We ordered the shrimp basket, catfish basket, bang bang shrimp, and chowder. Every bite was delicious. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, crispy and flavorful, and the fries deserve a special mention — golden, seasoned just right, and addictive. The chowder was rich and comforting, and the bang bang shrimp had just the right kick. Our waitress was absolutely lovely — friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better despite the long wait. While the wait was tough, especially after a long day, the great food and service made it a memorable visit. If you’re patient and looking for fresh seafood done right, Stinky’s won’t disappoint!

Google
Cara and AJ were great bartenders and Marlin was working so hard on the oysters that we had to order some! He made it look so easy! Cara recommended the cauliflower which was amazing! The hushpuppies were full of all kinds of vegetables! The frog legs were nice and tender! Marlin also made a beautiful shrimp cocktail! A very awesome atmosphere with turtles outside on the docks!

This was the best meal we had while in the Sandestin area! My husband finally had enough food to fill him up. He was so happy. Service was excellent. Bus boy was on it (hold on to your forks). Check out the lovely lily pond area behind the restaurant. This sure is an excellent restaurant. Don't let the name fool you!

Google
The atmosphere was great! They have a “backyard” with games and a bartender plus a dock to look out over the water. The service was good and quick also. The food was just okay. Hush puppies didn’t have any flavor and the gumbo was just okay. Sidewinder fries were good!

Google
Busy place. Worth the wait. Said 45 mins we were seated in 25. Packed with patrons. Waiter was great and on the ball. We had fried shrimp platter and fried oysters. Both delicious and large size. Crawfish hush puppies delicious. Cole slaw just ok. Despite being very busy food came quick. Very good seafood. Loved the atmosphere. Parking kinda tight with all the beach traffic. Overall , would recommend to others; definitely going back. 2 Thumbs up

Google
Our entire party really enjoyed their food. My husband LOVED the Surf and Turf sandwich (fried shrimp and NOLA po boy), Gulf Fish tacos, kid’s chicken fingers, chicken blts, and queso tacos. Our server Kadian was awesome and all staff was friendly. Clean dining and bathrooms. Kids loved going out on pier to watch turtles.

Google
Oysters were awesome. So good that I ordered again and the second ones had no salt, smaller in size and way overcooked. Took fried shrimp to-go and it’s average, very salty!! Service was average!! Not so friendly!!

Yelp
The food was fantastic! Came here on a very busy Monday night as I was traveling West through the panhandle. The inside was cool and eclectic, but overpacked with people. I went to the bar hoping to get seated as it was just myself. The bar was very small and the bartender was a little gruff as he seemed to be overran at the time. I was finally able to get a seat by the well and was able to be served immediately. The bartender seemed to warm up a bit as things slowed and I was now seated instead of standing. I had the Gilled Shrimp & Angel Hair Pasta, which was absolutely delicious. Had a nice bottle of white wine to go along with my entree, and then ended the evening with the best Key Lime Pie I've EVER had! Th Al you for your service and for providing delicious food! Definitely recommend.

Yelp
My wife and I were on a fun drive from Panama City Beach to Destin and saw Stinky's on Yelp and it looked good from the reviews. We entered the establishment and there was a real good band playing and we got a nice window seat. I ordered an IPA from our fabulous server and a Cuban sandwich. Always my favorite! The beer was perfect and the Cuban had just the right amount of meat and mustard and the bread was crusty, yet chewy. We also ordered some Buffalo frogs legs, now I have had frogs legs in the past and the spice ws just perfect with the flash fried meat. Really great, you have to try them! An excellent lunch for a day road trip in Florida, plus the great band and a view over some water. Good stuff!

Yelp
Whenever we are in this area STINKY's is a guarantee on our dining list. A must for sure, service is always excellent Robert waited on 4 of us last night. His recommendations were fabulous and certainly did not disappoint! Everything from the oysters to steak was super delicious. Robert brought a piece of key lime pie with a candle (yes was on our bill bc I requested) as it was my fiance's bday and we celebrated. Great food, excellent company, lovely restaurant, thank goodness the SNOW held off 1 day! Yes, the SNOW! It was a birthday I'm sure he'll always remember! Thank you Stinky's for the great dinner. See you next trip up here & hopefully warmer with no SNOW !

Terinee B.

Yelp
Food was EXCELLENT! Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The staff were also amazing. Rick was our server and he was super friendly and attentive. I would specifically ask for him to be my server if he's available. We will definitely be back.

Vicki E.

Yelp
We didn't get to try the food as they were packed elbow to elbow. The band sounded awesome and the drinks looked great. We loved the ambiance and will try again but not on Fat Tuesday! We went back Wednesday for lunch. Found out we were in the wrong building! Well Duh! So we went to the building along side the one facing the street. So glad we did! Great service from Rick who was also funny but not weird. I had the catfish sandwich and corn and seafood soup. It was delicious! My husband had the fried shrimp platter. He loved the tartar sauce! I had the stinky margarita which was also good.

Scott S.

Yelp
Florida gulf coast classic, Stinky's! Always a good time, good food and good people. This is a place where there are no strangers sit at the bar for a fun time and enjoy great conversation with locals and tourists alike. Food is excellent try it all. Drinks are abundant ,pace yourself there's no hurry on coastal time. Enjoy my friends!

Cheryl M.

Yelp
We finally decided to try Stinky's. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks when we first got there. Hubby got the stink juice. Wow is that potent!! Not for me but he drank it up. lol. The kids got a Virgin strawberry daiquiri which was quite tasty and they can make it not virgin if you'd like. When we got our table, I ordered the salad that was on special. It was delicious. I also ordered the seafood corn chowder. It was great. I ordered a side of garlic bread which was just ok. I wouldn't get it again.

Russell G.

Yelp
This place was definitely a nice stop. We had to park down the street And walk here but it was worth it. The catfish was good to me. The atmosphere was the best. We went in the afternoon and it was dust and getting dark. We had a great waiter. We did a great job. He was also funny. I remember giving him a nice tip. If you are In Santa Rosa Florida I suggest giving it a try.

Robbin W.

Yelp
Stayed across the road in a Beach House Rental, walked over for Supper late one night. Knew when we walked up food must be worth the wait! So we waited around 1 hour to be seated. Food was all delish, only wish oysters would have been smoked/grilled. Boudin Balls dipped in pepper jelly were awesome. It felt a little tight in the seating area and was very noisy but I'm sure we will go back if ever in Santa Rosa Beach.

Kevin B.

Yelp
Almost forgot to review this place but here I am! Stinky's is most likely the most popular place to eat in Santa Rosa and for good reason. Place is always jam packed so be prepared to wait, I can say it's absolutely worth it. Started out with their Fowl Gumbo which was one of the best gumbos I've ever had. Delicious andouille sausage, chicken, rice and duck confit, was amazing. I got the catfish dinner with sidewinder fries. Good size piece of catfish that was breaded and perfectly fried, simply did not miss. My wife got I believe some lamb meatballs and a cauliflower side which I enjoyed as well. Stinkys is a gem in a sleepy beach town with not a ton of dining options.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Had great raw oysters at the bar. The soup was too rich for my husband but I enjoyed it. The fried green tomatoes were ok but we could have skipped.

Mackenzie L.

Yelp
My first but definitely not last time at Stinky's! We dined early at 4:30 and still had a little but of a wait on a week day, so plan accordingly. Everything we ate was delicious, but some things were a little heavy on the salt. Every bite had so much flavor. It is a loud and crowded restaurant, but it is family friendly. It isn't the right place for a romantic dinner, but it is worth trying at least once. I would skip the peaches and cream pie next time, but i'm definitely reordering the firecracker shrimp and mac & cheese.

Jj F.

Yelp
Absolutely great food and service! Great breakfast food, they also have a nice selection of gifts, fishing gear and so much more.

Lori S.

Yelp
It was our first time eating here. The atmosphere has a cool vibe, and the service was great! We had a party of 6, and were sat at a table overlooking the water. I ordered an Old Fashioned that was really good. We enjoyed the Bean spread on crackers before our meals. It was tasty! Every single one of us enjoyed our entrees. I have to say that the Shrimp and Grits that I ordered was the BEST I've ever had. My husband ordered the Crawfish Pie and loved it! Others loved their catch of the day. Their store that is right next door is really cool. It has a bar, novelties, and also serves breakfast. We will definitely be back the next time we make the trip down from Ky.

Geeta M.

Yelp
Cute place - more atmosphere than expected. We had a few minutes to wait so we went "next door" to the bar and gift shop. Delightful way to wait for our table. I had a great frozen Stinky and my partner had a beer. Only waited 20 minutes and we enjoyed our time at the gift shop. We both enjoy fried oysters and were pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the oysters. Done to perfection with a huge side of tender, moist and scrumptious fries. Excellent service and great food. We will return!

Yelp
With hearty food, good portions, campy décor, energetic and friendly wait staff, Stinky's is a must-stop if you're in the area. We tried the: *Spiced and steamed oysters (market price, around $27 for 12 oysters when we were there) - Perfect option if you don't want fried oysters, but you're scared about having them raw. Comes with butter, Cajun seasoning, cocktail sauce, horseradish, hot sauce, and lemon *Seafood and corn chowder ($9) - Chock-full of seafood, this creamy chowder was delicious and well-suited for a chilly December evening. They did not skimp on the ingredients; there were tons of shrimp and fish in there! *Stinky's fowl gumbo ($9) - Thick and hearty gumbo, the way it's supposed to be (from someone that lives in New Orleans)! This was a fantastic gumbo; smoky flavor with a little kick turning up the heat. It was packed with chicken, duck, and a house andouille sausage. *Blackened shrimp basket ($23) - More of a plate than a basket, but you won't regret ordering it when you try it! The shrimp here might be the most succulent, tender, juicy shrimp I've had in a long time. Phenomenal shrimp! They serve a decent amount of it with the meal too. The shrimp comes with perfectly crispy seasoned fries, 2 crawfish hushpuppies, smoked tomato tartar sauce (much better thab the usual boring tartar sauce), and a tropical fruit coleslaw. Every single item that comes with this "basket" was flavorful and just really delicious. I highly recommend Stinky's Fish Camp if you're looking for a place to eat tonight!

Yelp
The food was so yummy Our server Valerie was so cute and friendly and amazing. Come see Valerie

Katrina G.

Yelp
We decided to give this restaurant a try. Parking was tricky and we had to park kind of far from the restaurant. We had an hour wait for a table. Once we were seated, our waiter promptly greeted us. Our server was very personable. I ordered the fried catfish and fries with mango cole slaw. The fish was heavily battered which I was not a fan of but the fish was good nonetheless. The fries were delicious and the mango cole slaw was good. Service of the food was pretty fast.

Susan S.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Stinky's! Rolled in at 11 on a Sunday in Jan and was treated to excellent Live music! Our waiter was the best in Florida and food & wine on point. So glad we landed at Stinky's! Pretty views of the lake too.

Steve V.

Yelp
This place does not take reservations and we figured it'd be a wait, and it was. We were quoted 45 minutes so we drove around killing some time and hung out at Gulf Place, which is right down the street and was a cool place to walk around. They called us and we were back in no time, seated immediately, and drinks orders taken. This is a casual, no frills place and the menu reflects that, just all the good stuff without any fluff. We started with the gumbo in an entree portion to share and it worked out perfectly. The garlic bread that it came with was a nice touch. For my entree, I got the grilled shrimp and angel hair. When it came out, I was surprised the shrimp were so big! In fact, the entire portion was huge! I wish it didn't have as much sauce as it drowned out just a bit of the shrimp, but not a huge deal. We had a great experience and will be back!

Yelp
Finally made it here for dinner after hearing a lot about it. Definitely a traditional seafood restaurant with a laid back vibe in here. To start, we ordered the oysters Rockefeller which where delicious. Their frozen drinks are popular here, I had the margarita and did not care for it at all. It tasted so artificial. My husband had the sparkling lemonade which I tried and thought was really good. For dinner, I ordered the "taste of stinky's" which I highly recommend. It's a sampler of three of their most popular dishes: shrimp and grits, catfish meunière, and crawfish pie. All of the dishes were excellent. My favorite was the catfish meunière which was amazing, I didn't even know I liked catfish but I guess I do. The portion was huge but I ate everything just because it was so good. My husband got the bacon wrapped scallops special which he also enjoyed. They are kid friendly and have a kids menu. Service was great. We were too full for dessert. Would come here again.

Robin H.

Yelp
We were visiting the area for a wedding. We ate at Stinky's twice. The food was excellent and loved the vibe. Lingered at the bar visiting with the other guests and bartender. I even bought a hat from the gift shop next door. Hopefully, we will return in the future.

Brandon S.

Yelp
The food and service were outstanding. We had a smaller party of 6 but we still Got Seated quickly. Highly recommend this place.

Stacie M.

Yelp
Stinky's never misses. Will you wait for table at 5pm? Yes of course but it's to be expected when the food and service is always quality. Just wait next door with a cocktail and the music. Each server is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly...every time we are there. Shout out to Scotty last night who took great care of us! My family of 6 adults ate for $230 and that's with 2 appetizers (one being a dozen oysters) and dessert. It's a casual dining experience and parking can be a challenge if you aren't expecting it.

Larry S.

Yelp
Great dinner. Started with half a dozen fresh oysters. Very flavorful. Washed them down with a local beer. The wahoo was a special fish of the day. It was perfectly grilled. Roasted carrots and broccolini were delicious. Service was great. Our waiter was prompt and helpful.

Shelle M.

Yelp
Get the crawfish pie! So amazing - I think about it all year! Mix the margarita with stink juice and have a great time!!

Naomi G.

Yelp
First time visiting! My friend and I decided to grab lunch here since it was on the way to the beach. I ordered the Great Big Salad with grilled shrimp which was delicious! I really liked the rouille sauce on the shrimp. My friend ordered the Po Boy with firecracker shrimp, and she enjoyed how the firecracker sauce added a spicy kick. At first, when we arrived, the hostess said the wait was one hour, but then she quickly made some adjustments and we were seated immediately outside. So we had no wait even though it was packed inside!!! The outdoor seating overlooks the lake, so if the weather is nice, I recommend asking for the outdoor seats on the back patio! Overall, great food, wonderful service and beautiful ambiance.

Rikki R.

Yelp
We found this place in Santa Rosa beach, Fl. I had the swordfish sandwich (blackened). The wife had crap bisque and she love it!!! I hear that oyster was the . Our waiter was awesome I forgot his name. Ambiance was so amazing everyone there were nice!!!

Anna J.

Yelp
I had heard so much about this place and to be honest it was just okay! It gets stars for having reasonable lunch time prices but I definitely wouldn't consider it worth it for dinner prices We had to wait some for a table which wasn't a huge deal. After that, we got seated quickly. We got the beignets and oysters for apps. The oysters were amazing and fresh but these beignets were an absolute disappointment.... They came plain and were just not flavorful... For the main, i got the fried shrimp. Overall, this was good but I would have preferred traditional tartar sauce, cole slaw and hush puppies versus the different versions they had. Overall, just okay!

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Super nice staff. Fish tacos were decent. Kiddos got rootbeer floats which weren't great and half filled but the key lime pie was amazing!

Jeoka G.

Yelp
The restaurant is small and the wait is easily 45 minutes or more. It is not stinky at all (lol) and the decor is quite appropriate for a sea-food restaurant. I ordered the shrimp and grits to go (among other menu items). Firstly, their food is simply delicious and all the staff is great; I have to give compliments where they are due, but boy are they "proud" of their stuff! Their food is rather expensive imo. The "to go" box is literally a cardboard box (with a liner?), which is not a real complaint but 4 minutes later (between picking up and getting home) it was just a pile of slop. As you can see, it's just a ladle-spoonful of grits, 6 shrimp (jumbo?), and a few thin slices of andouille sausage, in a creamy sauce. That's it, and that cost $27.95!? Not a good value-for-money option, imo(?). As I said, all the food is delicious but they will rip your pocket out! (Call me cheap if you like). The food deserves 5 stars but I had to deduct one for their pricing. I've eaten from their other menu items too and everything has been delicious (not a huge fan of the gumbo though) but, like everything else, also on the pricey side ($14 for an 8-Oz bowl with bread). The fresh fish is far better value for money, imo (around $44 for a 7 - 8 ounce portion), but be sure to bring enough cash with you, regardless. (Btw: Paying with cash also gets you a small discount).

Nikki C.

Yelp
Everything here was flavorful/not lacking in seasoning but had some executional issues. Shrimp were over cooked and grits were very stiff/lukewarm. The crawfish stuffed wing was actually quite good, was sitting atop something that resembled Mac and cheese but was a little greasy and watery/soupy. Prices were a little pricey but it was along 30A. There are just nicer restaurants not that far that are similar in price. Especially given that the ambiance was like a regular fish shack

Craig J.

Yelp
Just a call-in order but everything was amazing. Catfish shouldn't be this good! We had fried shrimp, pasta, salads...everything was excellent.

Tom E.

Yelp
Excellent food. Incredible people. A dear friend has a terminal illness and her family and friends are gathered to celebrate her life at a VRBO next to the restaurant. Her birthday was earlier this month, so we had birthday cake to celebrate with her but no one had a lighter for the candles. I went next door to Stinky's to ask if I could borrow one. A server took me to see Chef James in the kitchen. When I told him why I needed it, he asked if I would come right back because he wanted to prepare something special for her. The photo I will post of the most beautiful dessert tray shows just how much love and care Chef James put into it, but her amazing smile, the tears, and the lift to her spirit are impossible to express. Without a second of hesitation, Chef James used his skills for a selfless act of kindness and decency to lift up a stranger. Beyond their exceptional food, this is the kind of business, and the kind of people that are deserving of your patronage.

Beth W.

Yelp
Definitely recommend. Every dish we had was great! Not pictured but highly recommend the chowder, fried green tomorrows, skip the wedge - not enough toppings. Negatives: Service was a little slow. It took awhile to get drinks, simple requests, etc. Also I would say the appetizers are more like small plates. For example, the wings were actually just one wing.

Greg G.

Yelp
Wow! Best food I've had on 30A. The Taste of Stinky's was incredible. Wife had the shrimp and grits which was good too. Will definitely be back!

David D.

Yelp
In Santa Rosa Beach on vacation. We tried Stinky's and the family enjoyed it. Definitely will have a wait but you just go tot he bait shop and order drinks and some snacks while you wait. Once you get in the place is packed and loud - but that's how you know you found a good spot. I ordered the blackened pompano with vegetable medley. Not sure I would call that blackened - but was still delicious. The wife had pasta and shrimp was excellent. My daughter had the house salad which she is loved and asked if we could go back and get. That's all she had because she devoured the gumbo we got her at the bait shop while we waited for the table. My son ate off the kids menu - he enjoyed the chicken fingers and fries. Definitely recommend!

D T.

Yelp
Fantastic food! We drove 45 minutes from PBC twice during our vacation to eat here. The shrimp & corn chowder was our fave.

Jacob L.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Oysters as fresh as they come. Looking forward to coming back soon!

David F.

Yelp
Stinky's never lets us down. The food is always consistent. Drinks spot on. The waitstaff is A+. Our favorite waiter is Paul. Attentive without being smothering. Can't say enough good things about him.

Stephanie K.

Yelp
We came in based on the raving, yelp reviews. Fortunately, we came in on the early side of the lunch hour and were quickly seated outside on the back porch. It was a delightful area to sit in. Our server was named Craig and he was beyond fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave helpful recommendations. I ordered the shrimp basket and got the shrimp grilled based on his recommendation. They were delicious. They came with a type of french fry that I had never had before and they were very delicious. The tartar sauce and cocktail sauce was homemade and also perfect. They had a small container of slaw to go with The shrimp basket. This was not my favorite as it felt like it lacked flavor. We had a fantastic meal. The service was on point and the food was scrumptious. I would definitely come back. And hope to do so soon.

Scott B.

Yelp
Tourists probably love this place... I did not, though. Perhaps I didn't order well. The crawfish hush puppies just didn't have much flavor at all (nor did the sauce it came with). Typically, I'd expect a sweetness in the batter, but it was just bland. For my main I went with the Catfish Meuniere. Saying it comes with green beans had me expecting it was a side. Instead, there were five (5!) of them. There were two heaping portions of catfish, again with a tasteless batter. The fish inside was tasty, but the dish underwhelmed. Were the Brabant potatoes fresh, as it seemed they were the OreIda diced potatoes with a little seasoning. In short, it was a lot of a meal that I ended up not really wanting. Bummer. I'll give the place one more shot. I'll ask the server what is can't miss and I'll see if I fall in love.

Jeff M.

Yelp
Best food in the area. Service was great and watching the band in the bar next to the restaurant was fun.

Makenna E.

Yelp
Yikes! I called to ask for their hours and they responded they would be closed for an hour (3:30pm-4:30pm). I drive in from out of the area and plan for a 4:30pm arrival and the hostess says dinner isn't even starting until 5:00pm now. Why quote hours over the phone to change them two hours later for people coming from out of the area?

Derek G.

Yelp
The food is truly amazing. If you like cajun food, I would recommend. The Stink's platter was great with three favorites. All the dishes were good, the crawfish pie did not need the crust. The crawfish étouffée was good without it. The star was the gumbo for me. It is different, but flavorful. The only issue the credit card fees again. The meal is expensive and nobody usually cares that much cash. The service was very quick and they were friendly as they could with how busy they were.

Claudia E.

Yelp
Had an amazing meal at Stinky's last night! Our server, Paul, was amazing. It wasn't crowded at all due to it being the week after most spring breaks are over so there was no wait at all and we got to sit next to the window with a nice view! I ordered the Stink Juice frozen drink (sweet but strong and delicious) as well as the fried shrimp which were the best I have had in the area. I got the Chocolate PB pie to go. my only thing would be for the ratio to have more chocolate and less PB, but other than that everything was 10/10. My grandma got the house salad and chowder as well and absolutely loved it!

Shannon F.

Yelp
We had dinner here last night and everything was absolutely delicious. Honestly one of the best meals ever- the grilled shrimp with angel hair pasta. I'll be thinking about that meal for a long time! My husband ordered the Gulf to Table special- blackened cobia. He really enjoyed it. Our bougie daughter ordered the steak and fries off the kids menu. Nice steak and their fries are SO GOOD. They are like twisty thick cut fries. Never seen fries like this but I'm a fan! We also ordered lunch to go from here. We had the oyster po boy, the fried catfish kids meal, and the Cuban sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious. The catfish kids meal was plenty big for an adult! For drinks, we tried the stink juice (kinda weird- it was ok), banana rum (good!), the emerald city (yum!), and the mezcal me crazy (good if you like mezcal!). The only downsides to this place is the ambience is a bit weird in the restaurant- the layout is weird, like the feng shui is off. Also, the prices are pretty high for the entrees. $43 for the Cobia fish special, and $27 for the shrimp and pasta dish. But I get it- get that tourist money lol. We'd absolutely recommend this place. We loved the bait shop next door with the live music. We had a drink there while waiting for our table. A lovely evening

C Y.

Yelp
Seafood was fresh but unfortunately breading was excessively salted. Perhaps exceeded daily intake of salt in just one bite. Seafood chowder was good. Cosy interiors and fast service. Wished we enjoyed the food more.

Alice S.

Yelp
Fantastic fabulous service Portions are huge!! I have had good seafood all over the world This is beyond compare
