Very cool and hip place. Chicken was cooked perfectly with the exception of a little too salty. Waffles and syrup were delicious but syrup was cold to the point that the waffle were cold in spots. Regular black coffee with absolutely luscious. My waitress was excellent. One of the two girls at the reception was so so. Live music was great! The bathrooms were nice and clean.

I was going back and forth between 4 or 5 stars and ultimately landed on 4 because the steak frites was good but didn’t stand out to me. The fries weren’t my favorite and were floppy. My server Amy was wonderful and provided another option instead of the fries. Apparently the fish is amazing; the guy at the table next to me couldn’t stop talking about it.

Google
We ate brunch here for New Years. The food was fantastic and our server, Jarrett, was phenomenal. He was so much fun and really made our experience wonderful. We started out with the whipped feta (outstanding) and my husband got the speciality butcher block burger. I got the veggie burger and we shared the eggnog crème brûlée. I'm certain I'll dream about that crème brûlée.

Google
Blown away by Stir. Atmosphere, food, service, they nailed it. Our waiter was kind and helpful, helped us pick out the most popular things on the menu. We ended up getting oysters, a garden chicken, and a chicken picotta as well as the crème brûlée 😍 all of it was drool-worthy. The atmosphere was cool, very industrial modern with unfinished accents. They had all kinds of seats like high tops, regular tables, booths, bar seats. We didn’t have to wait more than 20 minutes for our table so not bad at all. Make sure you pay for your parking !!

Google
Amazing late night dinner for two in this fun place! Waiter helped us with explaining the specialities and what they are famous for: craft ice, cocktails, and oysters. GET THE OYSTERS. These are some of the best I’ve had outside of the Pacific Northwest. Sweet, briney and tender. We had the Canadian ones per our waiters suggestion and were not disappointed. I had both mocktails and they were delicious. House made tonics were complex and balanced. Did not miss spirits in them as they both felt like fancy drinks. Main courses were steak. Steak frites was generous and perfectly done. The homemade steak sauce was delicious and had a smoky sweet undertone that lingered. The filet and goat cheese raviolis were sublime. Perfectly done steak and al dente ravioli made for the perfect pairing. I was delighted as I never can decide what I want to order and this gave me a taste of two dishes! The chocolate layer cake was dessert and was one of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever had. The whipped cream and Carmel Sauce just put it over the top! Fun open dining area made for a nice atmosphere. Would come back again and again to this gem of a spot.

Google
2nd time here. Very active on a Thursday night. Lots of professional groups. It was 2 of us but we were still able to carry on a conversation across the table. Lots of menu options, cocktails & food. This will always be my first choice when in town.

Google
I would like to start off with saying our server was phenomenal and was very on top of her game. I don’t remember her name but she was blonde with dreads. The crab bisque was splendid and the caprice was delicious. However the 65 dollar steak was so full of gristle, completely unseasoned and seemed to heavily rely on you using the sauce that came with it to piggy back the lack of flavor and cooked incorrectly, that a guiding hand seems to be needed in the kitchen. I ordered a filet to replace it and while it was good was also not something I would ever order again. I would gladly post if requested a 13 dollar sirloin that would blow both of these cuts of meat out of the water. The building itself seems to come off as an upscale old city establishment, but I would avoid having any sort of business meeting or celebration here. This would be a great place to have a drink from their spectacular thought out drink menu to catch up with friends, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything other than that.

What a gem of a restaurant! Amazing atmosphere, professional friendly service (thanks John Luke we appreciate the hospitality), and tasty food and drinks. I had no idea Chattanooga was so cool! Ya can’t go wrong here at STIR!

Yelp
Holy crap this place is good! We sat at the bar and during our first visit, bartender Courvoisier, made the experience! But the second time, we also sat at the bar and received stellar service! In addition, the food is tasty, the menu is creative, and everything's well prepared. One complaint on both visits, something came out cold. Both times, the food was whisked away and replaced with hot dishes. Granted, this shouldn't happen, but I can't imagine it getting handled any better than it was. This will be on our regular brunch rotation!

Yelp
I loved this place, the food was incredible I ordered the oyster Rockefeller and the crab brisket. The service and waitress was amazing . The ambiance is so beautiful.

Yelp
Came in really late for us - 10pm after an exhausting day. Just wanted a bite and a nice glass of wine. Fortunately they are open late. Parking is a PIA, but beyond that it was great. The space is amazing in the old train terminal. They have an extensive menu with lots of choices for everyone. The wine list was a bit of a challenge as they were out of our first choice and they didn't have a sommelier on the floor. We had three different appetizers , finished our wine and headed out at closing. Would definitely return!

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a somewhat unique, well-appointed place to celebrate our first anniversary and STIR did not disappoint! The service was fantastic, Shelby was attentive, prompt, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The ambience was perfect for what we were wanting. Not too quiet but also not too loud. A good balance of low lighting without struggling to see the menu or each other. Being set in the train station, the architecture was beautiful and added flavor to our celebration. I ordered the Strawberry Moon Sangria. Certainly not a strong drink, but very tasty. Sweeter and less of a punch than a typical sangria. We also shared a Chef's board. The pepper jelly had great flavor, not too sweet. The board was well-appointed with a decent variety of charcuterie. For dinner, I had the Steak Frites. The steak's seasoning was well balanced, not too salty. It was tender and thick, with obvious quality of cut. The steak fries (as labeled in the menu) weren't what I would consider typical of either steak fries or frites, but they were good and freshly cut, albeit a little brown and soft for my taste. The house made steak sauce base was very good. A great blend of spice, savory, and sweet with hints of sriracha. My husband enjoyed his mahi bowl. The mahi was fried and crisp with a heat from the pineapple sauce that was a slow burn, building as he enjoyed his meal. A great night! Will make another stop here next time we are in town.

Yelp
YESSIR TO STIR | espresso martinis & sliders? Yessir! The Tillamook Sliders + Crab Bisque + Seared Scallops were the perfect way to girl dinner, before girl dinner was even a thing. Top it off with a frothy espresso martini and call it the perfect night out. I wasn't a HUGE fan of the seared scallops being on top of a bed of roasted vegetables, they seemed a bit basic. But the scallops were still cooked perfectly. Service was a little slow while we were seated on the nearly empty patio. We had little to no service, like we were an afterthought. Even so, we ordered, ate quickly and were back at our hotel within an hour and a half. Overall, I will definitely be back next time I'm in town - STIR is the perfect spot for a quick bite and drinks!

Yelp
Our first dinner on our trip this summer and it was a disappointment. The service was really great but not the food unfortunately. Nice decor and lots of seating options, indoor and outdoor as well as around the bar. They also have a selection of mocktails which I tried the mocktail martini, and it was delicious. For appetizer we split a wedge salad, which had good flavors. However the main entree which the waitress told us was a popular dish did not do well. The halibut was completely dry and way overcooked and the farro needed to be cooked more too hard. The waitress could tell we were not happy and she did give us 25% off, which was a nice gesture.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere and food! The service was also very good. We started with the whipped feta app and it was amazing! Drinks and app came out quickly and then our food was not far behind. We both had steaks - cooked perfect. No complaints - will revisit the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Had a very nice meal at STIR. The food was tasty and the portions were generous. We especially enjoyed the chicken bites. The deviled eggs were solid. The Mahi bites were outstanding. The rice that came with the meal was not as flavorful as I would have liked. However the fish bites more than made up for the rice. The filet mignon was extremely tender and flavorful. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. We were seated in corner booth that was intimate and well lit. Stylish interior decor. We will visit again next week visit Chattanooga.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to eat before an evening kayak trip and STIR came up as one of the favorite places in Chattanooga. We asked if we would be ok to come in in our kayaking gear and they said it was fine and made a reservation for us. When I tell you this was the best meal of our trip. We didn't get to sample any of the cocktails (because we were heading out for a two hour paddle), but my steak salad was one of the best things I ever put in my mouth. Our server, Joseph, was incredibly knowledgable and offered great suggestions about everything. The menu is familiar yet eclectic, and the decor is gorgeous and welcoming.

Yelp
Went for breakfast. When you order from their breakfast section they also include a small buffet. Two of us chose oyster's and they were yummy and just the right size. The drinks were good and the price was right. We were headed for the choo choo gift shop for our visiting friends. What an amazing little shop, very unique things.

Yelp
Great food, especially the goat cheese ravioli. Creative drink menu. Wonderful fresh oysters. Very attentive service!

Yelp
Stir is a Resturant which surely fascinates you because of it's Chattanooga downtown location . They generally have a long wait so call and reserve in advance. While waiting they have a nice area which you can walk around and visit the older train and hotel nearby. They have a valet parking so we don't have to keep Looking for parking. They have some nice cocktails and a decent menu. Food and service was good.
google avatar

Yelp
Oysters were so-so. Perhaps for someone not familiar with New Orleans cuisine, this would be good. Drinks were delicious and filet was melt-in-your-mouth.

Yelp
Stir has a beautiful interior with high ceilings located in the old train station. It's known for its bar but we went for lunch. There's plenty of seating and good for large groups as well. We ordered truffle fries, crispy mahi bowl, and a sesame steak bowl. Everything was absolutely delicious. Those were some of the best truffle fries I've had. The steak bowl had a really great flavor and highly recommend. The mahi bowl is slightly sweeter than I had hoped but still enjoyed it

Yelp
Oh, this restaurant. Unbelievable. Let's start with the service. WOW. Sat at the bar on 9/6/25 and was taken care of by the two incredible bartenders, Vsop and John Luke. Vsop's genuineness and attention to detail is absolutely stellar. The way these two work the bar and show genuine interest in the needs of their guest is pretty remarkable. STIR is so lucky to have these two on their team!!! The Filet & House Goat Cheese Ravioli is mouthwatering (I wish I took a picture). The ravioli was cooked to perfection and the filet didn't even need a steak knife to cut into! I can't put into words how great the dish was. Kudos to management and I wanted to give a special shout out to Scott, you can surely tell he leads by example. I live in Nashville so I'm only a 2ish hour drive from here but I will 100% solely come back for a dinner at STIR. WELL DONE!!!!

Yelp
Had breakfast here because it was within walking distance to where we were staying in Chattanooga. The the country breakfast and the sausage biscuit and gravy was a huge portion. Well worth the money spent.

Yelp
We found this place in a strip of other restaurants but it stood out because it was packed even on a rainy night (always a good sign). The space is beautiful--upscale rustic--and the host got us seated faster than expected. Our server, Sarah, was amazing: super knowledgeable, funny, and on top of everything. She never left us hanging. I got the tuna poke bowl, my boyfriend had the lobster + shrimp mac and cheese--both were incredible. We also got drinks: his Chattanooga sour was very good, and my elderflower sour was easily one of the best drinks of the trip. Everything tasted super fresh, and Sarah told us most of the menu is made from scratch--including their custom ice!! Such a great experience. We left full and happy, and would 100% come back.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a spot to have our one year wedding anniversary dinner and we found stir. We were impressed with the building which is really cool and right by the Chattanooga choo-choo. The service was really good and our server was super friendly the food was pretty good And the drinks were great. I got the sangria and my husband had a beer what I can truly rave about was their chocolate cake we had for dessert. It was the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my life. I have no idea how they made it so moist and delicious. We could not stop eating it overall very happy with our choice of this as our anniversary spot.

Yelp
My husband and I love Stir so much that we come once a year from Atlanta just to enjoy the fabulous food, atmosphere, and top notch service. Tonight I enjoyed glazed salmon over farro and roasted vegetables which included carrots, celery, and shredded cabbage. All the vegetables were lightly sauteed. My husband had the chicken piccata and it was so tender you could cut it with a fork. So many amazing choices. Bowls, steaks, and seafood just to name a few. I enjoyed a refreshing peach sangria also. Very tart and perfect on a stifling hot July day. Stir never disappoints and tonight was no exception. Shout out to Will our server. He was spot on and attentive and personable. Highly recommend and remember we travel 80 miles each year just to enjoy the pleasure of dining at Stir.

Yelp
Awesome experience for a mini vacation! Our server Theresa was amazing and all of her recommendations did not disappoint! The food was great, the crabcakes were our favorite! The vibe was upscale but laid-back!

Yelp

Yelp
we went to STIR for our friends birthday. We were greeted with friendly staff. Our waitress was friendly and was nice enough to split the bill for our big group. We got the oysters to start- they were not that great, i would skip the next time. I ordered the Halibut, which was super good. I loved the flavor profile and the veggies. My boyfriend got the shrimp and grits, they were very rich and so good. My STIR old fashioned was good.

Angela M.

Yelp
Food was delicious. They had a kids menu. I got the appetizer tacos & spicy tuna bites.
google avatar

Sandy M.

Yelp
Food choice and taste great and server great BUT our crab bisque arrived Luke warm but replacement good, kid broccoli covered in red pepper flakes but remade plain, truffle fries barely warm but we just ate them bc we were tired.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
The only thing working for this place is... historic location old train station. The charcuterie board was so lacking, we have had better and I've made better. 3 pieces of think salami, a few grapes, 2 pieces of prosciutto , bread so hard you could hit the table with it, a few nuts, teaspoon of 2 cheese. My wife order steak with fries(cold) had to send back, my food was last to come out maui was hot but no flavor, my mom's shrimp and grits had flavor but not even warm, same with sister in laws soup. Desserts were free and were just ok. Over priced food. Will not recommend.

Mary Beth W.

Yelp
The food was excellent and server extremely nice, however, food and beverages took forever to come out. As explained there was something wrong with the "Draft Service" whatever that is? I would not recommend this place unless you have two hours to sit and wait. Perhaps regulars are taken care of. Not out of towners.

Christopher G.

Yelp
Spectacular. Lucky to get a table for four at this busy place and we are glad we waited for it. Prompt and friendly service. Clean. And the food was fantastic. Oysters, horseradish, taco appetizer, iceberg salad, chicken picatta. Cocktails tasty with heavy pour. We really enjoyed it and will be back.
google avatar

Kathy F.

Yelp
The food was very good!We started with the appetizer. It was a nice selection. Then we split the grilled roast beef sandwich with fries. The sandwich was delicious. The fries were good, could have been a little more crispy. The service was excellent. And the building is super cool.

Yelp
Stir has been my favorite restaurant for delicious food and drinks however; it will be awhile before we go back after we both had a reaction to the food last night. We started with the monthly special volcano bites, which were absolutely delicious! We also had the monthly special entrees, lobster pasta and short rib. My husband had the lobster pasta and the moment it was delivered to our table. We could smell that something was wrong with it. The lobster had a strong fish smell and the sauce that went with the pasta had a bad flavor to it. My short rib had a lot of fat on it and sat on a bed of cauliflower au gratin which was more like a mash covered with oil and gravy from the short rib. Right before we left, my stomach turned and had to run to the restroom as something made me feel sick. We told our waitress about the food and while she was accommodating and none of this was her fault, the overall experience has turned us off to Stir for a while. We won't be back anytime soon.
google avatar

Maylee W.

Yelp
I was with a party of 10- we ordered a lot of food - spicy tuna bites, chefs board, halibut, salmon, chicken piccata and the special Crab Noodle bowl. The entrees were good, however when I told the waiter that there was no crab in the crab noodle entree, he told me that they could bring me more crab (really?) and then charge me for it. Really outrageous! I mentioned this was unacceptable and I sent the entree back. I guess he realized that a table of 10 was going to be a very large bill and he came back and told me that I was not going to be charged for the crab noodles, which was the correct answer.
google avatar

Yelp
It has saddened me how far downhill STIR has gone. When it first opened, the food was great! Service is hit or miss now... The hostesses were totally rude though. The last time I ate here will be the last. The food was so terrible. It takes a lot for me to write a review that's completely negative, but it's not cheap to eat and drink here and folks should probably go somewhere where they will not be disappointed. I do hope it makes a comeback! Love the area and the space.
google avatar

Keith E.

Yelp
I really enjoyed STIR. I had a seafood salad which consisted of shrimp and lobster and everything was fresh. We had really good service and he was very informative. The restaurant was nice and clean and a place anybody can go. I would certainly go back.

Yelp
I came by to treat myself to dinner while traveling to Cloudland Canyon. I started with the Wild Moon Child cocktail. It was beautiful and delicious. For dinner I ordered the Grilled Swordfish special with a Caesar salad. I was disappointed when my salad came out after my meal. But, I just ate it alongside my entree. The swordfish dish was delicious, my only complaint was that the risotto was lukewarm. So before I could really get into my meal, it was cold. I chose to sit at the bar, and the bartenders were very attentive and helpful when I was t sure which signature cocktail I wanted to order. It seemed to get pretty busy by the time I was wrapping up my meal. There was a nice collection of folks there to mix and mingle with. This seems to be a place that several of the locals love to come meet up with their friends for a drink after work. The atmosphere is laid back, but not overly casual. I really enjoyed my time there.
google avatar

Yumi L.

Yelp
This place was popping on a Wednesday evening. The interior of this place is beautifully designed with the fancy ladder bar and floor to ceiling windows. Their main selling point is crafted ice which is basically fancy clear ice that's rid of impurities. Pretty neat if you asked me. Its supposed to melt slower but it melted in my cocktail at a relatively average pace lol. I had two cocktails. The first was the field of dreams that tasted very fragrant but too watery for my liking. I think the second cocktail I had was the margarita which tasted fine. Both were really really strong though. For my meal I had the steak frites. It was perfectly medium rare and easy to bite. The fries were crispy and tasted good with the steak sauce on the side.
google avatar

Marissa A.

Yelp
We were stopping for one night on a long move and happened across Stir because we needed a late dinner. Although it's an "oyster bar" it was more casual than expected which was perfect for our night. It was inviting ambiance, with great service, and still lively at 9 pm on a weeknight. The cocktails were great. I really liked the "custom ice" that they show on the menu which goes with which cocktail. We had the crab bisque, tuna bites, and cheeseburger egg rolls. Everything was good. I particularly liked the tuna bites and it was like a deconstructed spicy tuna sushi roll. The cheeseburger egg rolls were nice and crispy outside. The bisque wasn't as good as she crab soup, but not bad.

JR R.

Yelp
Been to Stir around a dozen times and have always had a great experience. Food is fresh and tasty. Yesterday we must have had a brand new waitress that was not trained well. First she told us we couldn't change an ingredient on an appetizer and after we asked her to check, we could. We order a steak salad and she said we only could get the steak was well done. We asked her to check and guess what, we could get it medium. The kicker was before the check came, I asked her to validate the parking like it says on the valet sign outside she said that was done with the hostess. After we paid I went up to the hostess and asked for validation. The hostess said that supposed to be done before we cashed out, there was nothing she could do and she walked away. Such bad customer service. If a manager had come up and explained the situation it may have helped but I am pretty disappointed.

Yelp
Celebrating a milestone. Fancy menu w emphasis on raw bar items, seafood and steaks n salads. Prices are reasonable but items may be expensive; tiger shrimp cocktail was enormous and good. Dover sole was outstanding. The tuna bites are fine but not what I expected. The tuna was a paste on top of highly seasoned sushi rice; no ginger wasabi or soy dip. Wasn't something I would order again. The broccolini was served very raw and too hard and unseasoned to enjoy. The roasted cherry tomatoes were delicious. The cocktail list is amazing and diverse. The old train station has large windows, some booths, hightops and bar seats. It's not elegant but has clean lines. The wait professionals were pleasant. Two items I specifically asked for ( hot tea w meal and ice for the water) were disregarded or forgotten. The $75 Sancerre wasn't the one we ordered but arrived and opened w assurance it was 'better'! Normally we would prefer to simply select another and not be made to feel we had to drink the substitute. It was delivered as a fait d'accompli. No, I didn't want to find the waiter to get the tea n ice. No we didn't want to be churlish n refuse the substitute wine. Probably won't try this eatery again.

Yelp
It's a really big building and you can't miss it because it's on the corner. The bar is major and huge, so you can probably get whatever you want. It has plenty of seats in there has some indoor and outdoor options. The service was pretty good (Victor took care of me). I can't complain. They had a few TVs so if you want to watch a game this will be a spot to do it at but don't expect it to be full of TVs like a sports bar. Char broiled oysters were aight (This is kind of why I actually picked the place in the first place). I probably would not order them again. They were pretty small if you compare them to places like NOLA which is not fair... I know! But that is my baseline lol. Then she came out more on the burnt side than the char side so that was a little bit dissuading. I'm a big fan of Char-Broiled oysters so that part didn't do it for me. They had an okay flavor, but it didn't really have as much flavors I would have liked because it was a little more drier inside of the shells. Cheeseburger egg rolls were really good. Nothing much to say, but they were something I would go for again. The sauce took them up another level. Caesar salad was ok, I mean it's hard to mess up a salad lol but it was a little dry when it comes out so you will have to get some extra dressing FYI. I can't say I would hurry to come back, but it was only an okay experience as far as the food goes. The service was actually good so I will give them that, but I would probably try some other things instead of coming back here honestly. It doesn't mean it was bad, but, I was not floored or wild. I will give them another shot, but let me make my way through Chattanooga first.

Yelp
For all the hype this place gets, I thought it was just ok... Got the blacked fish tacos, chargrilled oysters, fried green tomatoes, and the stir fry. The story fry was heavy and overly sweet. The oysters were decent but nothing like traditional chargrilled oysters. The tacos were ok but a dry. The tomatoes were good but topped with an odd kind of fake tasting cheese. Nothing really stand out about this place tbh.

Yelp
Definitely get a reservation (you may still have a wait). The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered a couple of drinks. Those came and so did our appetizer. Had to wait a bit for the server to take our dinner order. The food was great. Will be back. The shrimp and grits was divine. First time having that dish. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Had a reservation for an anniversary dinner, had our hungry toddler with us. We arrived at our reservation time and they said they didn't have a table available but would soon. We waited 20 minutes before we finally left as we had a child to feed. The hosts didn't bother to communicate anything with us about why it was taking so long. Definitely don't count on this place to have a table for you even if you have a reservation, they don't take those seriously.

Hannah P.

Yelp
Love this place, but you do need to make a reservation. Food is outstanding, but without reservations it was going to be a 3-4 hour wait.

George L.

Yelp
Parking issues. Mediocre service. SOMEWHAT eclectic and limited venue. But busy with lively crowd.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the ambiance, location, oyster selection, and mocktail. I got a virgin Elderflower Sour. The oysters were fresh and they had 5 kinds. I would def go back for oysters and drinks! I also got a big salad to go and tuna Poké bowl so I tried a variety of fresh items.

Yelp
Such a cool place to eat in Chattanooga! Loved the place and the food! Service was great as well! We would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
Came back to Stir for dinner the other night and this may be one of my new favorite spots for cocktails AND eats. It's clearly a popular spot, and based on both of my experiences here, it lives up to the hype. Our waiter was so friendly, made a point to get to know us, and answered all of our questions about the menu. This time, my husband and I came w/ another cocktail, tried multiple cocktails and entrees - the tuna poke bowl was sooo good and everyone was so happy with their meals too - including the scallops, the steak bowl, and the tuna burger. We'll be back many times!

Yelp
Busy place, especially on Saturday nights! We opted not to wait for a table and headed to the bar. Luckily, there was one stool at the end, and the people next to us were finishing up, so we enjoyed a beverage while waiting for another seat. The Austin Mule was tasty and refreshing. The bartenders were fantastic, working fast and not letting anyone go thirsty! Once we both were seated, we ordered a charcuterie board along with two Caesar salads. The portions were perfect and everything was so good! We loved the bustling atmosphere, though it could be a bit loud at times. A very nice evening. Be sure to make reservations at least a day ahead if you want a table before 9!

Yelp
food poisoning warning ordered their halibut with root vegetables ( no alcohol) around 7 pm on the 23rd, by 4 am i was puking my my guts. it was so bad, i fell asleep on the bathroom floor. and three days later, im still sick and weak. i dont think it was the fish, but it seemed the couscous or whatever grain they pair it with was fermented. good luck if you go there. picture included
