I had high hopes for your restaurant last night, but my experience was far from satisfactory.
After my original reservation at another restaurant fell through, I was relieved to find that yours was still open for another two hours. I called and was pleased to secure a reservation on short notice. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended.
We started with a dozen oysters, which were delightful, but the drinks we ordered were a letdown. I had a Passionfruit Martini, and my partner had an Old Fashioned--both were poorly executed and unpleasant, though we drank them out of politeness. Thankfully, the waiter kindly suggested alternative drinks, which were excellent and somewhat salvaged the evening.
However, the real disappointment came with the 18oz NY Strip steak. At $100, I expected a flavorful, well-seasoned steak, but what we received was bland, unseasoned, bland, and underwhelming. We ordered it cooked medium and it came almost well done. It was an extremely disappointing dish, especially from a restaurant with a name like "STK." Frankly, I could get a better steak at a budget chain like Sizzler.
On a brighter note, the Truffle Tagliatelle and Brussels Sprouts were highlights of the meal and deserving of praise. Yet, they couldn't offset the letdown of the steak.
Overall, my visit was a mixed bag of highs and lows, but the mediocre steak was a major disappointment and overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable evening. Despite the waiter's excellent dessert suggestions, the $500 we spent felt like a waste. Unfortunately, this experience ruined my birthday and has deterred me from ever returning.
