I've been to this spot a few times now with different friends and have always loved the atmosphere, it's beautifully designed, the vibe is warm and lively, and it's quickly become one of my favorite new neighborhood spots. I've been rooting for them since opening, knowing that new restaurants take time to find their groove.
That said, tonight's experience was disappointing. I stopped in for an impromptu Friday dinner with a friend who had never been before. I arrived earlier, ordered a drink and some food, waited quite a while for silverware or a napkin, trying to flag someone down with no luck, eventually got up and ask for it myself. When my friend arrived, it took a long time for anyone to take his drink order, and we had to flag down the bartender from behind the bar who asked who our server is but took our order anyway for us.
The same thing happened when we were ready to order food, we had to flag someone down again, and when we asked if he was our server, he said, "I am now." My friend's pasta arrived without silverware or a napkin again, so MORE waiting.
The food was okay, and ambiance was nice, but it honestly just felt like we were forgotten most of the night. Then, right after paying and chatting for a bit, the host came over and said, "I didn't know you guys are still here, we have a 7pm reservation," which caught us off guard since no one had given us a heads-up that there was a party coming in.
I still really want this place to succeed but the service flow needs attention. I left feeling more frustrated than relaxed, which is a bummer because I truly love having a spot like this in the neighborhood.
