"Stockholm Pie is a little touristy, but for good reason: People love pie. One of this spot’s best flavors is the raisin sour cream pie, an old-fashioned dessert made with raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, rum, sour cream, and custard and topped with homemade whipped cream. The adjacent general store sells fruit preserves, an eclectic selection of classic candies and soda pops, glassware, art, and other home goods and pantry items. If Stockholm is too far of a schlep, simply get to Stoneware Coffee in Red Wing for a slice of Stockholm Pie." - Cecilia Johnson, Justine Jones

Wow, we walked into one side of this store without realizing just how big it is - and it is BIG! Multiple rooms and even a second story for seating (up a very steep staircase - I loved the USE EXTREME CAUTION signs). Indeed the staircase probably isn't for the elderly but there is still plenty of seating downstairs too. Lots of different "stations" with great local products - exactly what I look for. I got some local Wisconsin coffee from the cute little birch tree stand. There are cookbooks, cooking supplies, kitchen supplies, gifts and novelties, whiskey beer and wine, and that's just in the first room! The alcohol selection was especially great. Tons of local vineyards with Wisconsin and Minnesota wine - exactly what I want! Also interesting flavored brandies and rums, hard alcohol, unique brewed beers and ales, the whole works. Cheese and peanut butter too. Best of all, they have a daily tasting menu, and it's BIG, so you can get a good sample of everything you want to try. The next room is full of candy and sweets and treats, especially great for kids. The end room - the biggest - is the cafe, diner, and pie station. They have a nice lunch menu, good coffee and espresso, and a TON of pies. Oh, and also ice cream in a variety of flavors. Soups, salads, sandwiches. What a place!

Google
Honestly the cutest spot ever! The bakery and cafe is adorable, and the bumbleberry pie was my absolute favorite. (Get it warmed up for sure!) The attached general store and marketplace are super cute too with retro candy, home goods, books, artisan provisions, and more. Highly recommend a stop here!

Mike

Google
Great place to stop. The pie was very good and the food was well seasoned, well priced, and had good portions. The sour cream pie had a lot of real whipped cream and a good crust. The brisket chili had just a slight heat bite and good flavor. Handmaid veggie pie had a flaky crust and again, well seasoned filling. Definitely need to make a stop. Even the hot tea was Rishi at a good price.

Google
Great atmosphere. Healthy food options to warrant a piece of delicious pie. A “pie cookie” is a good alternative. The crust is good and might have over powered the Strawberry Rhubarb pie cookie I got yet No real complaints, here, as I wish I would have bought two!! Hard ice cream available, too!

Prudence Lahti

Google
Cutest pie shop ever! It's like stepping back in time. The general store area had lots of cute things. Workers were cheerful. We had the strawberry rhubarb pie that was good. The prices are a bit high but I guess that is what is to be expected these days at a shop geared towards tourists. That a few minutes to check this place out even if you aren't interested in pie.

Anna Sikes

Google
This place is amazing. Extremely friendly staff. Super clean store. And the pie is some of the best I’ve ever had. I recommend coming here multiple times to taste them all!!!

Roxianne Maurelli

Google
Cannot go wrong on any of the pies the grilled cheese I don’t think it was actually worth the $10 but it is very tasty. That is strictly just my opinion. The espressos are amazing. The root beer is good now if you need wheelchair accessibility you need to use the back entrance there is plenty of room to maneuver. Once you’re in the only thing is if you have a big wheelchair, you will not be able to access the restroom Due to the space but if you’re able to get out and walk from the wheelchair, then you will have access accessibility for the restroom otherwise there isn’t any grab bars or anything and you would need assistance not a place for wheelchair and the restroom. Otherwise everything else is good. They apologize tremendously because the building experience is old

Jasper

Google
Phenomenal pies; freshly made with REAL ingredients. I had a slice of old fashioned sour cream raisin and as seen in the photos it was delicious as only crumbs remain. 😋

Andrew M.

Yelp
Only tried the Double Lemon Pie (ordered off Goldbelly). Yeah, I paid $70 to eat this pie with my parents in PA. Yes that is highway robbery. But I think this pie might be WORTH it! I'm a pie snob. I've had 100s of different types from almost every state in the nation. This just might be in my TOP 5 now.

Amy W.

Yelp
Sadly, our experience wasn't as delicious as we'd like it to have been. I Ordered the Apple Caramel crunch and it was not good. Pie crust was so soggy, no caramel to be seen, and pecans to boot. Good think I wasn't allergic! My husband had the key lime and while it was tart, it was the smallest piece of pie ever. The only good piece was my FIL's rhubarb slice. Very expensive to be disappointed!

Kate C.

Yelp
It took well over an hour drive to visit this quaint town and specifically this restaurant. I wanted to share it with friends and treat them to the amazing blueberry pie! When we approached the counter, the complimentary comments my 80-year-old friend presented, were met with a curt impatient snap by the man behind the counter who was clearly fed up with the Saturday afternoon barrage of customers. It was caustic and palpable. Suddenly we felt to be a huge imposition. Afraid to take too long or not follow directions quickly enough, we paid and got out of the way. There was no blueberry pie. That was disappointing but not as disappointing as suddenly regretting the destination choice. It was embarrassing even. I have years in food service and with customer service. This is how you undermine your reputation. Attitude frequently trumps food quality. Not to be quickly forgotten. This is not where I'll be bringing friends who travel far. Nor will I promote it again.

Marjorie R.

Yelp
Yummy yummy food! Delicious pie. Fun items in attached general store. Staff was friendly. Very clean.

Debi O.

Yelp
Well, Stockholm is a charming adorable little Town on the Mississippi River, Wisconsin side, and the pie and general store are a huge part of that charm. You order at the counter and have a buzzy thing for when your food is ready. The staff were so nice and the food came pretty fast! The food tho- wow was that ever good!!! I had the happy hippy wrap- so flavorful. A solid vegetarian choice with an amazing 3 cheese garlic sauce that was a little like hummus! Such a good flavor. My companion had the Stockholm and raved over the lingonberry sauce on the Turkey sandwich. The tea and coffee we had was delicious!! Totally worth the drive to have lunch and do a little bit of shopping and looking. We picked up a few items coughchocolatecough at the general store. Really helpful staff. A great little place

Marta S.

Yelp
Tasty diverse pies! Chaotic touristy atmosphere. You order and get it at at cash register and eat it where you can!

Mikee B.

Yelp
Nice cafe great pie! The Fireman said it was the best cherry pie he's ever had. We also got butterscotch pecan & blueberry sour cream pie all very tasty. Indoor & outdoor dining & had a gift store attached. We also bought some bottles of craft beer.

Su M.

Yelp
It was a beautiful day to be out enjoying the drive and weather. We were excited to create a memory to keep and share. With that said we headed to Stockholm to grab a pie and enjoy the store. Unfortunately, the experience was not one of those feel good memories. Although the store is quaint and sells many local products and nostalgic things the prices are so expensive you're better off exploring a local creamery or true candy store. The candy looks great but isn't the quality it appears to be and way overpriced, especially since it's not all that good. Several of the employees were pleasant and welcoming but then as several people have already reviewed there was a man in the pie sandwich shop that was rude and ruined the entire visit. I hope you're NOT the owner because you should know better! There's no good reason to speak to people abruptly and irritated. Your job/business is dependent on the atmosphere being welcoming and inviting. Whatever happened previous to our visit it doesn't condone your rude behavior it only causes stress to the onlookers and insures that the people you addressed in such a manner will not be return customers. I am sorry I don't have a more positive review--I'm sure we both would've preferred a better experience. Thankfully, I can say you did not ruin our entire day because we found Sunrise Coffee up the road in Bay City WI to be everything we were looking for (great employees, atmosphere, product and prices!) and we will be giving them our business in the future. Responding to reply: No we did not have a rough day. We had a beautiful day. Everyone we came in contact with throughout the day were lovely and pleasant with the exception of the interaction that I specifically noted.

Elijah W.

Yelp
Was walking around exploring redwing when I decided to stop in the see what this place was and I was glad I did. The menu had some great sounding options but I only tried their cookie pies which were extreme good. I got the blueberry one and it had the perfect amount of filling to crust ration.

George D.

Yelp
The best pie. Super nice owners and amazing variety of pies. Lots of local foods for sale. Not a bad place to stop when on a road trip.

Dan B.

Yelp
Exactly what we were looking for! The coffee is amazing, the side of pickles are delicious, the pie (blueberry) was out of the world good and and grilled cheese was ridiculously good

Tim T.

Yelp
Best pie ever!!!!!Great day trip for lunch from the Twin Cities! That's all I have to say about that

Meta V.

Yelp
Excellent food - incredibly tasty sandwiches, pot pies, chili, and salads. The pies are super fresh and the natural flavors really shine through. A fun place to eat.

Susie A.

Yelp
Bumble berry pie. Sooooo delicious! And I am not usually a big pie fan. This was not overly sweet like some fillings can be. Loved it! We also bought some mango salsa and a jar of honey habanero mustard. They had other items too. Pickles, jelly, fudge... Definitely worth the stop!

Nick D.

Yelp
What a great place to stop in Stockholm. It is such a cute place and everyone working is friendly and great. I got the Lake Pepin is was great and their pickles are homemade and delicious. I also got a slice of Stockholm apple pie, which was delicious as well. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Rick R.

Yelp
When I told friends about the road trip I planned, one of them enthusiastically told me to go to Stockholm Pie, as these were the best pies in the state, in her opinion. My friend is a pastry chef, so I took her at her word, and I'm glad I did. I started at the General Store portion of the business and browsed the gifts and chocolates counter, then made my way over to the pie shop. I was greeted by a very friendly woman, who explained the set up to help me with my pie shopping. There is a chalkboard on the wall, listing pies available for the day by the slice or in whole. Slices are $5.99, but I thought they were large, and when I took my first bite, I $5.99 seemed like a bargain. I started with a slice of banana cream pie, and it was the best I've ever had, with slices of banana mixed into the filling. I took a slice of Caramel Apple Pie home and enjoyed it the next day. I also tried the cherry pie that I brought back from my mother, and it was equally delicious. I wish I lived much closer to Stockholm Pie, but it's probably best that I don't because I would be eating unhealthy amounts of their amazing pies! Not only should you stop here if in the area, but you should plan a trip to the area so you CAN stop here. I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could!

Whitney S.

Yelp
Would you like a slice of pie with that? Why I sure would! I'm from out of town (OOT), and visiting Pepin, WI for a wedding. We happened to drive from MI, MN; and along the way sits this adorable little town of Stockholm. So be it this has one of the best pies, so we had to stop for some lunch. I got the ham sandwich on GF bread (love that they have that option)! This is a layered sammie loaded with my favorite a (sweet relish sauce). In fact I asked them for some more sweet relish to dip my sandwich in, it was so good. You can get a full sandwich, or a half. The full comes with house made potato chips, and homemade pickles with a bit of red pickled onion. I am 100 percent a pickle girl and will die on this hill. They honestly have a variety of pies that look absolutely delicious. My mom got the brambleberry which is pictured in the linked pic. For anyone wondering brambleberry is essentially the northern blackberry variety. Honestly there is something here for everyone from pies, to lattes, to milkshakes. I was hitting that mid-day lull and got a *lavender latte and it was to die for. Floral coffee, something you didn't know you needed until you try it! A balance of sweet but not too sweet caffeine.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Cute place and yummy pie, but the employee taking our order was rude and condescending when we had questions about a some things on the menu and took a few minutes to place our order. Also, when you spend $14 for an entree and more for pie, a glass of water should be free.

Mollie Y.

Yelp
They May be known for the pie (YUM) but the sandwiches are amazing. Fresh. Delicious. Refreshing. I had the Pepin. So. Good.

Claire O.

Yelp
Blah. Too expensive and slow. Nothings ever that great and there are only 3 employees here who can handle it & they aren't to be found on the weekend

Sandina H.

Yelp
Recently my husband and I decided to take a trek down to Stockholm l, WI, where I'd heard of the legendary pies. Being a pie aficionado, I had to see what all the hype was about. I consider myself to be one of the best pie bakers around, and I'm usually hard pressed to like a restaurant or store-bought pie as well as my own. I was very enamored with the charm of the postage-stamp sized town, and even more so with Stockholm Pie and General Store. It was like stepping back in time! My next impression was that for such a small place, they had a very wide range of pies. I prefer fruit pies, and I was immediately was drawn to one specific flavor listed on the menu board that day: Lemon lingonberry. Much to my dismay, when I placed my order I learned that the lingonberry pie was sold out, so I settled on a personal size Bumbleberry pie... and boy was I in for a treat! The fruit was so fresh and flavorful, and the crust was buttery, flaky and just... PERFECT. I mean, I gotta be honest, that had to be one of the best pies I've ever had. I savored every single delicious bite. It was so good it was practically a religious experience! I instantly regretted not buying more than just this one tiny pie. Now all I can think about is how soon I can make time to drive to Stockholm again!

Suzanne B.

Yelp
While winding south down Highway 35 in Wisconsin from the twin cities to our final destination, the Stockholm Pie and General Store proved to be the perfect spot to stop for a pick me up. In a lavender-colored building on the corner, it's hard to miss as you meander the two-land state road. Ready to stretch our legs (and eat some pie, obviously!), we easily found a parking spot in front of the place and started by checking out the general store. Inside you'll find an array of quirky cards, Wisconsin-based gifts, and other fun souvenirs to remind you of your trip. Just adjacent is the real reason that I stopped in: the pie. I decided on a Nutella mini pie. That plus a water bottle for the road ended up being just over $5. They prefer cash here (and run a 4% extra fee on non-cash transactions), but I had just enough in my wallet to cover. The Nutella pie hit the spot -- perfect size for sharing, it had a flavor inside that reminded me of a black bottom pie. It was just the pick-me-up we needed to be able to get back on the road!

Loveleen A.

Yelp
Truly the best fresh pies here! It's a small pie shop with some salads, soups, and hot drinks in a cute town called Stockholm in WI. It's on the drive from the Twin Cities down to Lake City/Lake Pepin. They sell out early so can't expect every flavor the later you go! My favorite is the Triple chocolate pecan pie.

Donna G.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday drive today. We had the most delicious lunch and pie! The store is full of great stuff and the young lady who was working in there was the most friendly person I have ever met. Definitely stop in and spend a little money at this place. We'll worth the time!

Mary W.

Yelp
Oh so delightful! The pie selection seems endless. I particularly love their creamy double lemon pie with whipped cream. There's seating inside, but I much prefer the convivial atmosphere outside along the sidewalk at one of the few tables or benches. Once my tummy is satisfied, I'm drawn to meander through the general store and chat with co-owner Alan. I inevitably identify unique gifts that find their way home with me.../not surprising since the Wisconsin side of Lake Pepin seems to cultivate more than their fair-share of highly creative people.

Caroline P.

Yelp
I've lived almost my whole life in the Twin Cities and never heard of this place until recently. On a random Tuesday off, I ventured down here to see if this pie lives up to the hype... oh my god. BEST PIE EVER!!! You could probably fill the pie crust up with garbage and I'd still eat it, it was soooo flaky! I also had a sandwich that was perfect. My goal next time is to come early enough and try a chicken pot pie, I can only imagine how good it is. I just wish this place was closer to Minneapolis! Luckily the drive is beautiful, and Stockholm Pie is 100000% worth the trek!

Angmar W.

Yelp
Really more like 3.5 stars but I don't have that option. We made a special trip up here after I'd read a news article about their recent remodel/expansion. I have to mention that I don't make pie myself usually, which gives this place an automatic advantage. I wasn't disappointed and I wasn't sorry we made the hour-ish drive. There's a great variety of pie, so that was cool. I saw many that I would like to try and it was slightly hard to settle on just one. Inner Fat Kid wanted to order five varieties and eat them all. Right. Now. All. Alas, I was born with self control (sorry not sorry), so I only chose one--a mini cherry pie to share with my small fruit loving child. My two other possessions ordered the apple pie and some type of cream pie. I liked them all. Wait, I didn't really like the apple pie. It has a strange flavor of some spice that I am not used to tasting in apple pie. I was actually surprised that my Mrs. Smith's loving hubby said he really liked it but since he's the one that ordered it, I suppose that's all that's important. The cream pie was delicious as I would expect a cream pie to be. Honestly I wanted to eat it all before my slow eating child had the opportunity to consume it, but once again, stupid self control. The cherry pie was tasty and cute because it was a mini 6" pie in a box but unfortunately the box came with an ingredient list and those usually make me sad. This was no exception: CRISCO. Bleh! I would rather eat a pie made out of old fashioned lard. Good portions, not a bad price at all for what you are getting. Nice atmosphere, decent selection even being early afternoon on a weekend. It wasn't too crowded although we had to wait a few minutes for a table to open up, there were bar type seats available, just not ideal for a family with small humans. The customer service was decent, no complaints there. There's an adjacent general type store aka overpriced items available in every other small "old fashioned" town's tourist targeted "general store" but I won't hold that against them. We browsed and nothing stuck out enough to consider buying or even to remember to mention in this review. Bottom line: We would make the drive again. The Hubs said he would bring out of state visitors. I will try to pretend they don't use the poison that is Crisco while limiting my indulgence here to once a year if not less. Give it a try for a nice treat!

Nate M.

Yelp
Updating this after we made our way back here this weekend. Their special was pumpkin pecan, and it was the best piece of pie I've ever had in my life. I've never heard of that combination, but they did it to perfection. We also got the peanut butter fudge which was also fantastic, and THICK! If you're in the areas you have to stop by!

Rachel B.

Yelp
Small town American perfection! I love the old fashioned building that screams out history. (Check out the fascinating vintage freezer-turned-shelf in the gift shop.) The people watching is great; I overheard an old guy refer to himself as a "local character," and I heard a couple with British accents taking in this authentically American experience. We had the Stockholm sandwich, which was good, and the Capri sandwich, which was better. And of course we had pie. This pie doesn't taste like store-bought pie. It tastes like the kind of pie someone's Aunt Edna brings to the annual Lundquist family reunions in a old country church. The crust is flaky (and lard-free; thanks for being vegetarian friendly!) We ordered the peanut butter fudge and the lemon lingonberry. They were both great, but the latter was really special and quite the appropriate thing to order in a town called Stockholm. It was not too sweet and had a beautifully light texture. Better than Aunt Edna's.

Maxx M.

Yelp
OK, this place is AWESOME and worth a special trip from the Twin Cities. I didn't know anything about Stockholm Pie and we just happened across them while taking a fall colors driving tour down the east side of the river. The pies are amazing!!! And the staff are super nice. They're also patient. And it's necessary to be patient because the selection of overwhelming. Help, explanation, and guidance is much appreciated! In addition to the pies... They have a huge set of racks with local jams, jellies, preserves, and pickles. In the side room they have a cooler with local cheeses, cured meats, and processed meats. There's a giant cooler and rack with local beers and wines. In the main pie area there's a two-door cooler with local sodas. Finally, they have some really good coffee and espresso. Thumbs up!!! -Daddy Maxx Retro

Yelp
I was on a trip to Minneapolis/ St. Paul, and wanted to check out Wisconsin. I did a little research, and found this place. I went with my family on a Monday right at opening, so there was no one else, but us. Order: Chocolate Cream - reminded me of french silk pie Double Lemon - reminded me of a lemon bar Blueberry Pie Pocket - yummy! Jams - My Mom bought a few not sure on the falvors Overall Food Review: Everything was delicious. I LOVED the Chocolate Cream, and my Mom devoured her Double Lemon. I ordered the Pie Pocket (I think that's the name) on a whim, and it DID NOT disappoint! Overall Service: The people working the pie section of the store were nice enough, but the woman (she is the sister of the owner) working the general store was so nice and chatty that she really added to the experience. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a fun scenic adventure with delicious desserts.

Suz T.

Yelp
Due to staff shortage only 2 soups and pies available. The blueberry pie was great, apple crisp meh. Roasted red pepper good also. Disappointed with lack of menu options though

Lorraine N.

Yelp
I am not sure where all the folks come from around this place but pretty darn busy on a Wednesday afternoon. We were driving by and decided to stop in and see what the pie was like. I got apple with cinnamon ice cream and my friend got the blueberry with vanilla. She said there was a taste of cinnamon in the blueberry which was unexpected and my apple tasted normal. The crust was good! They accidently put vanilla ice cream on my pie so I went to the counter and got my cinnamon however he just scooped the vanilla into the trash , hey sir, I would have eaten it if you left it there! They serve the pie in disposable paper and the coffee was not good at all.

Julia M.

Yelp
Worth every mile of going out of our way to stop at the Stockholm Pie Company. I tried a slice of the raisin sour cream pie, bought a slice of coconut cream for my husband, and took a small blueberry pie on the road with us. All of them delicious. I had never heard of raisin sour cream, but it made sense to me. Many recipes on the web describe them a little differently and topped with meringue. I really like it topped with whipped cream, the way we got it. The raisins were not overpowering at all and the filling was creamy, like a light custard. It was not overly sweet. What a lovely pie shop and store! I spoke with Janet and her brother (the owners) and they are as wonderful as their pies. Both answered all my questions about their pies and all the great things they sell in their store. I would not have engaged them if it were busy. From what I understand, during the busy months, it can get mobbed with people. Most importantly, they use butter in their pie crusts. The crusts are so perfectly flaky and tender. As a pastry chef myself, I can tell you one thing. The only ingredient that acts and tastes like butter in a recipe......IS BUTTER!!! It is so disappointing to go to places with raving reviews and take a bite into a tough, pasty crust with no flavor. I know you need a balance of butter and shortening, but accept no imitation. Butter, not margarine, should be in that recipe. The owners take pride in their ingredients and they sell pie filling and all you need to make pie yourself. There is also an unbelievably interesting array of antique kitchen items in their store. We will be back someday. Destination Stockholm!

Rachelle N.

Yelp
Coming from the twin cities- heading to la Croix, we took this route JUST so we could stop here on the way! Last time we were in this area they had the most Delish Apple dumplings. We actually arrived 15 min sites before they opened but with their small town graciousness, they let us in. We started with a fresh out of the oven little cherry pie, purchased a double lemon pie for later and sat and nibbled on the cherry pie while waiting for the apple dumplings to finish cooking to take them to go. I am super picky about pie. Bakers square or Perkins never gets my business for pies. Most restaurant pies have that filling from the can taste and blah rancid tasting crust. Not this place!!! So far from what I've tasted and seen- they are like old fashion, homemade pies your grandma would make! Absolutely yum!

Rina C.

Yelp
I live 211 miles away however it doesn't stop me from driving and visiting my happy place any opportunity I get. They have the best pie and the service is superb. I come here at least 6-8 times per year.

Katherine B.

Yelp
Hmm. I'm a fan of pie. Stockholm Pie has got their crust down, no questions. The crust is the proof of high quality ingredients made by talented pie chefs. Five stars for the pie crust. A single slice can be potentially sliced into 4 slivers for sharing. So that's nice. I dont know where all the people waiting in line come from, since Stockholm has a population of 66. But it's fun to be around so many people who are apparently willing to drive for pie. Many stars for atmosphere. We had three different kinds...and the fillings were just ok. So I kind of feel bad about only giving four stars. The truth however is 5 members in our group didnt feel like finishing 3 slices of pie. I mean, you should stop if youre nearby. Maybe just dont get too excited. It's just pie.

Chris C.

Yelp
I don't recall how I first became aware of Stockholm Pie & General Store but I sure am happy that I did. This is my kind of place. Small town store, everything made from scratch and full of local items. They have also won several awards and recognition for their pies from the USA Today, Gourmet.com, Dish.com and Roadfood.com. We've stopped here twice now on our way to our favorite pizza farm. Stockholm Pie and General Store is a destination location as they are about an hour from St Paul but well worth the drive. Its actually a nice drive either through Wisconsin or Minnesota as you follow the river towards Lake Pepin. They are located right on the corner of small Stockholm. Just look for all the cars and people. On this most recent trip we tried the caramel apple and triple berry. Previously we have had their peanut butter fudge which is as rich and decadent as it sounds and their apple crisp pie which tasted just like a homemade pie should. While the apple was really good, we were really impressed with how sweet and a little tart the triple berry was. Their crusts are buttery and flaky. The perfect piece of pie. Sounds like their savory pies are also excellent. I would love to come out here in the Fall for lunch and have their pot pie and a piece of pie or two for dessert. Add that to my foodie bucket list. We make an annual trip here every August so I know we will for sure be back next August and hopefully sometime this Fall if not sooner.

John R.

Yelp
Very sad that this place isn't closer to the house. Its a chore to get there but we done it more than a couple of times. You drive for the scenery along Wisconsin 35 and you stay for the pie. All kinds. Of course that depends on what is available when you get there. They only make so much and when its gone, its gone. You come in the main doors of the pie shop and usually run smack dab into a line of people queued up patiently (or in my case impatiently) waiting their turn to order. They also have a selection of sandwiches and a salad or two as well. As I said, most seem to come for the pie, but the other items look good too. There is a board on the south wall by the counter where the pies available that day are listed. Whenever they run out of a particular kind, the corresponding magnetic label for it is removed from the board. I hate it when I see the one I want and right when I get close to the counter it suddenly gets ripped from the board so it pays to get there as early as possible. The crusts are made from scratch and the fillings are all made on site as well. Its all homemade and you can tell. The staff is nice and I get a great vibe just being in the place. There is a smaller attached general store area to the right which has a good selection of local beer, spiritis, and cheeses. You should have been here before, but if you haven't its worth the trip.

Yelp
We were on a "Laura Ingalls Wilder" tour with a 7-year-old and she loved the General Store because it felt like someplace that Laura would have gone. The display of candy probably helped too. The store had several nice gift items. Next door at the Pie Shop we bought 3 pie cookies to eat later. The blueberry, raspberry, and Nutella pie cookies were very delicious. My favorite was the raspberry. They had food other than sandwiches and they had tables inside if you wanted to eat lunch here.

Yelp
This was part of my Pie Tour. People kept telling me to go because it was something I needed to try. I went, and I tried and at about $6/slice I didn't think it was worth it. I ordered a Butterscotch Pie because I had never had one of those, which was decent but nothing that made my eyes roll back for. Not sure why it's so famous, it's really just a standard pie s. The nicknacks are fun, and there's chocolates next door, but again - nothing you couldn't get elsewhere. I would skip this place, unless you really had a bucket list you wanted to complete.

Yelp
Our son and daughter-in-law brought us pies from here--WOW! Better than homemade. The lemon with lingonberries was to die for! A must stop when in the small town.

Yelp
We make this place a destination! Amazing pie!! Be sure to not get there too late in the day while you still have pie options! It's been a year since we have been there and they have moved things around and expanded to offer much more food than just pie, along with their general store. When we arrived the line was easily ten people deep. It is a popular place. Slices are $5.95 each and they do offer whole pies too. Next time we go there we are going to plan to have lunch too. It's worth the drive and a pretty one too, especially during the fall. It is located in a quaint town along the Mississippi River, and lots of other tiny towns along the way, with scenic overlooks. Pack a cooler so you can get a slice for the road.

Yelp
Stopped here before checking into the whitehouse inn (great place). Pie most excellent. The five of us shared : butterscotch pie, chocolate pie, coconut pie and apple crisp pie. Which we had something like this at home.

Yelp
Great pie with fabulous crust. We also brought home some excellent wheat bread. Yummy food & friendly people at the counter.

Yelp
We stopped here today on our way back from BBQ. We heard the pie was good. We got 3 slices. Butterscotch which was amazing. Apple crunch which was pretty good ( could use a bit more wetness to it as it seemed a bit dry. But still good ) and chocolate peanut butter, which I heard was very rich and amazing ! Now I just found out they supply some of their pies to a small place in Red Wing MN. ( The apple crunch I had wasn't that great ) so I'm wondering if I got an old piece ) PS - if you have a nut allergy, you should ask first because it does have nuts in it and it isn't known unless you ask ) Prices are a little more than what I was thinking, but they are homemade ! $5.99 a slice Excellent service and excellent cleaning practices. One way in and everything was cleaned after each customer!

Yelp
After a day of wine tasting, one of our party had a pie craving (they had been here before). As it was near closing time on a Sunday, the selection was very limited. The raisin sour cream was available and looked interesting. It was, gulped it down in a few minutes. If you're in the area, check them out.

Yelp
Do not miss this wonderful place! The pie is amazing! I had THE BEST slice of coconut cream pie that I've ever had. And the place is soooo cute inside. The people who work there (all women the day I was there) were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend it. It's worth the stop. Plus they have a general store with cute stuff. Stockholm is such a charming town, it's a beautiful drive and more than worth the visit. Enjoy!!

Yelp
After trying to get in to this shop three other times, but being unable to do so due to the summertime crowds, we finally made it in on a rainy day. The pie is good, but pretty pricey, and not better than any other homemade pie at any other local establishment you may have had. There's a nice selection of local goods - maple products of all kinds, and a large selection of WI made craft beers and local wines - for purchase as well. Worth the stop on a road trip if the lines are reasonable.

Yelp
Pie is my favorite dessert. I speak the truth. I might go as far as saying it's worth driving 1.5 hours away just for this pie, but it's much better if you can rope it into a visit to the pizza farm at A to Z Produce up the road. Wasn't sure it was going to live up to the hype, but any shadow of doubt was erased after my first bite of blueberry pie. It could not have been better. The crust was perfect and the filling was sweet, but not obnoxiously so. I always prefer less sweet desserts, so it was right down my alley. It was very balanced with this bright taste of citrus that I'm assuming comes from orange or lemon peel. I dunno. I don't know their secret recipes... I just know it was phenomenal and I was glad I didn't order a whole pie because I probably would have eaten it all in one sitting. My boyfriend got the peanut butter pie, which was delicious but far too rich for me. I tried a bite, but couldn't handle more than that on a warm summer day. Even he threw in the towel before the slice was gone (and he NEVER gives up on food). Maybe in the winter it would be more manageable, but I think I'll stick to the berries. Besides pie, they serve ice cream too. I recommend the salted nut roll flavor. They close at 5 p.m. and run out of varieties throughout the day, so if you want something in particular, get there early or call ahead and reserve your best.
