The Best Steakhouses in Boston | Eater Boston

"The Stockyard is a time capsule. It looks like a 1970s steakhouse because it is a 1970s steakhouse. Everything on the menu is worth ordering, including the burger, but the steak tips are particularly good and particularly Boston." - Erika Adams

This place is the real deal -- 5 stars -- and deserves every bit of their success. They set out to be a one stop shop and they have become that. I have bought bulk material from them, smaller store materials from them, rented from them, got multiple material/pipe deliveries from them. Equipment is well maintained, drivers are friendly and prompt, and the store is very well stocked. Their prices on drainage and fabric are now in line with the other big shop around (sometimes even less), but their hours are way better. They're also very flexible and accommodating; I've had them deliver material and haul out other material back to their yard in the same trip. Two small areas, not really of improvement, but just something for them to consider. -Consider a higher value/performance seed brand. Jonathan Green is solid and way better than Scotts, but some local sod growers like DeLea on Long Island wholesale their seed. -Consider sourcing and selling a higher quality/cleaner/possibly washed 3/4" stone. Although a good option, the current 3/4" has a good bit of silt/fines which seem to foul up fabric in drain installations.

Danielle the general manager is absolutely amazing! She got us the rental machine and was with me the whole way while I used it. She helped me more than anyone has ever has! I am very happy the service that was giving with Danielle and stockyard is amazing and I will never go anywhere else ever!!

Super impressed by this company. Rented a TL6 track loader and got some organic top soil. Was so easy, and delivery was really convenient. Highly recommend Stockyard - and make sure to ask for Coop! He was fantastic!

Google
Stockyard has continued to exceed our expectations. We are a local landscape construction contractor always in need of materials, tools and sometimes rentals to suit our needs. The entire staff always ensures we get what we need to keep us moving forward for production. We value our relationship with them and cannot thank them enough for their support. A true must have one stop shop for someone like us!

Don't leave your card on file here because they tell you one thing and do another. They just run the card with no receipt and no heads up and give some excuse the opposite of what other members tell you. This place seemed great until it just really wasn't. Extremely disappointing to say the least.

Google
Stockyard is hands-down the best supply yard around. Whether you’re a contractor or just doing a weekend project at home, they’ve got everything you need—from bulk materials and tools to rental equipment. The team is super helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to load you up. Prices are fair, and the service is always on point. Easily my go-to spot in Litchfield.

Google
Can’t say enough good about ct stockyard, reasonably priced on a skid steer and mulcher. Unlike other rental companies the unit was in great working order! Will be using them again!

Google
Attentive customer service, easy to work with, reasonable prices, and great selection of equipment. Very accommodating for timelines on rental equipment. Stockyard is the best around.

Yelp
Stopped in for some stone and was surprised how much stockyard had- tools, rentals, bulk material, you name it. Staff was helpful and got me loaded up quickly. Way easier then dealing with the big box stores.

Hello T.

Yelp
The Stockyard team is absolutely fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable staff always there to help you with a large inventory of tools, materials and equipment.

Yelp
STEER CLEAR OF STOCKYARD. I rented a track loader with a forestry mulching head (used to clear land) for one week (7 days). In addition to the rental, Stockyard required that I pay 10% of the rental for insurance. After 2 days' use, the machine developed a vibration in the mulching head. I stopped using it and emailed Stockyard. They explained that vibration results from hitting rock and breaking a tooth. Indeed, I had hit rock and broke a tooth. They sent a mechanic the next morning to replace the tooth but the tooth he had was the wrong size. He took the machine back and said he would either replace the tooth at the shop and return the machine or bring a different machine. He never returned with any machine. I e-mailed; no response. I called; he wouldn't even take my call. In short, Stockyard charged me for 7 days and provided it for only 2. They charged my credit card for the entire 7 days and refused to credit back any portion. I'm sorry I saw their ad. I'd never do business with such a company.
