Where to Find Warm, Buttery Biscuits Around D.C. | Eater DC
"This Del Ray neighborhood spot offers build-your-own biscuits or fried chicken biscuit sandwiches. The latter comes in classic pimento-and-pickles style, or a “not-so-classic” with benne seed tahini, hot sauce, honey, red onion, and za’atar. Customers can order a side of sausage gravy before noon. For a sweet tooth, there’s also a French toast biscuit. Order online for pickup or delivery." - Tim Ebner
The Stompin’ Grounds is a very fun experience. We enjoyed a live band and dance performance. They also have a large dance floor for all to enjoy! It’s a great family experience with a layed back feel!

Great band and atmosphere. Only $10 each to get in, quite a value. Band played country, country rock and popular music from 60's, 70's and 80"s. You can dance if you want or just enjoy the music.

We had a great time listening to the band, watching the talented cloggers, and enjoying the history of the building and traditions. You don't need to "clog" to dance, any type of dancing works! Only open Saturday evenings, $15 per person.

I met Mary Sue Evans the owner and proprietor today. She was a God loving doll! An angel on earth. I drove 10-11 hours from Illinois and was walking past and it was my favorite place on Soco! She took me inside and let me tour it. I showed y'all the video of the inside on my YouTube channel. Adaytripp ...she has no social media and needs our help as she recently experienced arson. This community has already went through enough after Helene. Please come out in May and support them!

A super place to visit and experience true Appalachian music and clogging. They also had a live band that played country music as well. Dancing is encouraged. A lot of family fun.

Come visit this Gem in the mountains of WNC. With a strong feel of the old Haywood County, this 900 seater dancing arena has one of the biggest dance floors in the area. Open to anyone who can or wants to dance, enjoy slow couple dances and faster country favorites. For a few songs out of the night you can watch one of the local award winning clogging teams perform. Entry is 15$ for adults. Open every Saturday night from approx. 8-11PM with fun for the whole family. Open May-Oct.

This is a great place to bring kids and friends to enjoy/learn to dance. No experience needed and if you don't dance, enjoy the music. The band is great and you feel welcome. $15 a person is a good deal for a night of fun!

This place was so much fun! Ladies you can go without a dance partner and the gentlemen will invite you to dance. They were so friendly! Many people there are local, experienced dancers. They were very patient and kind with those like me who are completely unexperienced dancers. They were just happy to have a dance partner! There was also many really fun group dances and it had a family friendly atmosphere if you wanted to bring the kids! Next time I visit this area I will definitely be back!

Yelp
History !
My sister has been dancing for over 60 years and taught dancing for probably 40 of those in Laurinburg , North Carolina . She learned to Clog in the old traditional mountain style from some locals back in the day and taught it for years and also competed with her team and teams from her school . In 2013 she was inducted into The America's Clogging Hall of Fame . She now lives in Maggie Valley and enjoys coming here . She has danced here many times and so has my niece . She is now retired . I included a picture of her plaque and her with one of her teams back around the early 80's .
