"The Stomping Grounds already makes for an enjoyable outing any time of the week thanks to its variety of establishments. There’s sandwich shop Luloo’s Day N Night, La Mex, and ice cream shop Fat Cat Creamery, in addition to its 10,000-square-foot communal green space. But this year, the grounds have branched out with its After Hours series. Wednesday through Saturday, starting at 8 p.m., the grounds transform into an adult playground with a rotation of drink and dining specials, music, live entertainment, steak nights, and more. Check the Stomping Grounds website for a calendar of events and more info." - Brittany Britto Garley

The stomping grounds are a must visit if you have little ones in the heights area. Very family friendly and there are plenty of delicious food options. I would highly recommend La Mex! They have great food, good prices, and solid service. If you stop by from 3p to 6p weekdays they have a good selection of food and drinks for happy hour. Today we got mini tostadas $5 bucks for 2, with their messy nachos $13 big enough to share. The grounds are always kept up and they hold music and events regularly for familys and neighborhood residents to partake. Stop by and visit, you wont be disappointed with the trip.

Google
Super cute area full of restaurants and a giant fenced in middle for kids to run around and play while the parent eat! Lots of different restaurants to choose from; pho, Mexican, pizza, etc. they even have a little bar in the middle. There is a nail salon and in the upper section additional shops. Very fun place to go and just hangout on a beautiful day.

Personally I find the majority of the clientele to this establishment off-putting and unrelatable to me so I may not be the best judge. Decent food can be found if you can over look the other patrons. The majority of people are just aren't very urbane and much more family oriented.

The venue features boutique shops, salons, and spas, providing opportunities for shopping and relaxation. For families, there's a 10,000-square-foot green space where children can play, and adults can unwind with beverages from on-site establishments like High Five Mini Bar. Stomping Grounds regularly hosts events such as farmers markets, fitness classes, concerts, and artisan markets, fostering a lively community atmosphere come and enjoy the space 😉

Google
Its a nice place for kids but I can NOT recommend it due to the lack of security. I had my vehicle broken into and management (Bryan the leasing agent) is non-cooperative in sharing the recording of the incident with authorities. My window was broken and valuables stolen, but management has not returned calls, text or emails. This place lacks security, there is no security in sight and it desparetly needs one. If you have kids take them to a more secure place. There is plenty of parking but anyone can come in and take valuables as they please and the way its set up customers can't see their vehicles because everone is inside the playground area and vehicles are behind buildings. Definately not going back!!

Google
Stomping grounds management - what phone number would I call to complain about how out of control the kids have become here? It’s a great place to get outside and have fun, but with the addition of all the tables and kids sprinting around playing football with any object possible, there’s a great risk. My 2 year old daughter was clobbered tonight by a group of boys playing tackle football with a baseball hat. Super disappointing that it’s gotten so out of control.

Very chill spot! Definitely a cool spot to sit outside when the weather is nice. Plenty of food options, drinks options and dessert options. Some popular names around the city opened a spot there, and some new places I’ve never heard of before. It’s probably very family, friendly, but also drinking crowd friendly. Can’t wait for some cooler weather, but every place there has plenty of indoor seating. as well.

Little Dreamers Coffee is my new favorite place for a caffeine injection in a beautiful setting and because Matt. "Coffee doesn't have to taste like liquid suffering."

Yelp
Very fun and lively place to hang out with friends or family. They appear to hold events here every now and then - there was a little farmers market and Easter bunny photo event for families while we visited, which added a really nice lively and family-friendly vibe. Parking immediately around the Stomping Grounds was tough due to the event, but there is ample free parking in a lot just across the street and it is very close. There's plenty of seating outside in and around the common green area, and also in some of the restaurants on location. The selection of restaurants is diverse so great for accomodating many types of eaters, and the service is excellent. We ate at rooster and rice, and oh my Gogi - both were fantastic and inexpensive.

Yelp
Great place for play dates, or just show up with your kid and they will find someone to play with as there's always kids running around playing. The playing area is enclosed and dogs are not allowed I think. Also not bad for an outdoor friend gathering as there are many dining options around, but you will be surrounded by kids. They'll also host events on the lawn such as live music or Wednesday steak nights. You can also rent the green room for an event, which is indoors. Knocked off a star because of the parking situation, which can be tricky during peak hours.

Yelp
What a great spot to hang out with the kiddos and relax. The tacos at La Mex were yummy. I would recommend sitting inside La Mex in the AC while eating and then heading outdoors since it's hot in Houston right now. I would steer clear of the mixed drink cart in the middle of the courtyard. It was pricey and don't taste great. Next time we will drinks from La Mex instead.

Yelp
Great patio area - completely fenced in, so great for your kiddos to run around! Wish there was a coffee shop for the morning playtime. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Love love love this addition to the area! No more driving to Memorial City for this type of set up (green space and food places). Lots of parking and very little mosquitoes bit me (thank you!). Happily waiting for other tenants to join the area. PRO PARENT TIP: Bring a labelled ball, bubbles, or other outdoor toy to play with on the green space.

Yelp
Service was excellent at "The Pho Fix". Great atmosphere and cute date place. There's a variety of options for food and a plenty of seating.

Yelp
This is such a cute place to hang out with friends and/or families with kiddos. There is a play space with plenty of running room for the kids. There are a variety of restaurants that will satisfy any craving. You might want to check the website for the updated list of restaurants. There is plenty of parking but it can be a bit tight trying to get in and out of the development.

Yelp
Great if you have small kids and need a place for your kids to run off some energy. Gets really, wildly busy during the weekends and around 5pm for dinner time so keep that in mind- seating can be hard to nab. Lots of food choices, all the ones around the square offer almost primarily outdoor-only seating. Bring sunblock and water bottles and your kids will have a blast!

Yelp
We came out to check out my friend's band and it was so much fun! Great lawn space and acoustics for the live band. I just so happened to know the sound engineer and told him I was really impressed with all the work they put into it. So many food options to choose from too! The downside is that there's a lot of kiddos running around. Nothing against kids but you feel like you're going to get hit in the head by one of their balls. We definitely had a few thrown past us and some landed at our feet! Other than that, it's a beautiful space and I look forward to seeing more live music here!

Yelp
This is such a great space! Came here tonight for a Night Market event featured a bunch of amazing vendors. Looks like there are a few spots still under construction for even more vendors to come. Fat Cat Creamery is one of the businesses that has a new location here. Fun string lights and green space in the center.

Yelp
I understand the desire to have a place for kids to play, but those used to be called parks, and people would take their kids there to run around and have fun. Unlike other restaurant/green space areas I've been to, this place does not have enough space between the green space and the eating areas. If you plan to go enjoy a meal and do not have kids that run wild, this is not your place. Other people's children will be throwing things(despite the no flying objects signs) and using restaurant furniture as their jungle gym, possibly right at your table. If you are a parent that wants to drink and ignore your kids, this is your place. If you want to actually eat and enjoy yourself, or if you have well-mannered kids, this is NOT your place.

Yelp
An outdoor F&B patio that isn't dog friendly? In the Heights? Guys, this isn't 1968. It's the modern era. You guys need to figure it out for the long term well-being of the businesses you've brought in.

Yelp
The whole experience at this place was terrible! We chose to watch the World Series game here tonight due to the advertisement by The Stomping Ground of "Orange on the Green". When we arrived the TV was having technical difficulty. When I asked if they thought they would get it up and running, the waitress responded that she would get to when she could get to it. We proceeded to spend $50 on two hotdogs and drinks which were awful. THEN in the 8th inning we were told we had to leave because not enough people were there to watch the game!! This may be a nice place to take kids to play, but DO NOT waste your time or money on their so called Orange on the Green!
