This was my first time visiting this tea house, and I was quite impressed. The atmosphere they have created inside the establishment is calm and peaceful. It would be a great place to sit quietly and meditate while sipping some amazing tea. They have a varied loose leaf collection from many parts of the world, and their prices are competitive.

My friends and I came here the other day and it was fantastic! Beautiful environment, the menu had so many options, and staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. We each got chocolates paired with our tea too, I loved having that option. Thank you guys, we had an awesome time in the teahouse!

We love the teahouse! The entire team embodies excellence and hospitality. The room is one of the most restful places in the region. The teahouse is like no other space with its own distinctive ambiance. The teas and chocolates are excellent!

I'm a tea lover who is learning a deeper appreciation for tea. Found this place while on a cross country trip and stopped in. The people are lovely and have a deep knowledge of and love for tea that shows. I didn't get any brewed but got a great variety of teas to try, plus a new tea pet! I'm excited about this tea, and the fact that they ship nationwide.

I miss this place so much ever since I moved away from the area. This is the most peaceful and beautiful establishment I have ever been to. Just a retreat for the soul to sit and drink tea in the most beautiful and tranquil environment.

Yelp
This place is like nothing I've ever experienced in all my travels. The ambiance, service and tea can NOT be beat. I discovered this place by chance in 2017, and have returned at least once a year to spend a weekend simply sitting in this place to have the best tea and time of my life! I live in PA and will drive the 7hours gladly to be here. And when I can't be here, I order online so I can have their tea in my home! If you love tea, you MUST visit

Yelp
I did not expect much to be available in Vermont coming from California, so when I heard of a teahouse in Middlebury, I was not sure what to expect. It took me three and half years to finally make it out here, but I did not realize what I was missing out on for those three and a half years. A bona fide teahouse with a wide selection of teas, the team working here are so friendly and helpful in finding the right tea for you. I love that they have the "Lazy Menu" for people just like me. The prices may seem a bit steep (haha) at first, but this is high quality tea we are getting. You can pair your tea with treats, which I am apt to do. My friend Xuan and I visited the teahouse for a guqin concert put on by the Chinese Society of Middlebury College. We got the Golden Strand tea for two, and with accompanying treats, which were various chocolate treats. A wonderful pairing. You get your tea in what I now recognize as a more traditional Chinese style of having tea, with a tea board and a separate put for your hot water so that your tea isn't steeping for too long before you're ready to drink it.

Yelp
A fantastic experience, and a wonderful afternoon. My wife and I stopped in on a cold, rainy day to try the tea ceremony in their Japanese loft upstairs. We had a wonderful green tea paired with some locally sourced dark chocolate treats. All served in the traditional environment, it took us to a different time in place, and helped relax way beyond any other method. The tea was so good, we took a bag home with us! 100% recommend!

Yelp
Kind, welcoming staff and relaxing space. Best masala chai - brewed to order, with a high pour to boot!

Yelp
Adorable, quaint little tea house with a nice selection of teas and chocolates. I loved everything about our visit to this little shop tucked away in Middlebury. The menu had detailed descriptions of each tea making it easy to choose from their expansive list of interesting teas. I was interested in their tasting for two, but we ultimately had our own tea of hot and cold. It's a tea house, but the chocolates should get some recognition. Amazingly delicious. I wish I tried them all. Tea and chocolate lovers, you must pay a visit here.

Yelp
Yummy chai, treats lovely people and a perfect atmosphere for studying! They have non dairy milks too!

Yelp
Beautiful intimate and unique collection of teas and tea cakes, not to mention specialty chocolates too! I could spend hours in here!

Yelp
I'm doing the Japanese language program at Middlebury this summer, so I basically spend all of my waking hours studying. On Saturdays, I like to come here and sit with my laptop, sip endless cups of tea, and eat the occasional chocolate goodie. This place really does have a great ambiance and a really nice tea selection. Their summer iced teas are just what I need on a hot day, and I love that they give you bottomless hot water so you can get 10 infusions from a pu-ehr tea, or 7 from an oolong (for example). Oh, and their cinnamon rooibos was incredibly good. It contained fresh cinnamon. Don't be afraid if you don't really know tea- the staff are very kind and would be happy to help you pick one out. A couple of notes- no AC, but it's rarely hot enough in there, even during the worst of the summer, to be a problem. Also, they don't take credit cards, so if you don't have cash, duck into the pharmacy right behind them, where you can get cash back with any purchase. Also, they prefer if you bring your own to-go cup, but they do have glass jars for you to take with you if you'd like, say, an iced tea for the road- and they're happy if you bring them back. They were willing to let me keep a tab here if I'd be back (how kind is that?) but I went and fetched some cash at the pharmacy to pay them with. A good quiet place to work with free wireless. Worth the trek.

Yelp
absolutely the best teahouse in the state, the owner personally travels to Japan, China, India, Nepal, and so on to meet the tea growers from whom he sources his products. also serves local chocolate, honey, pottery, and other products.

Yelp
Very nice shop with helpful staff. Nice tasting of 3 teas for two people. We had the oolong, green tea and silver needle white tea. Well presented and answered our questions knowledgeably. Peaceful place to rest on a nice day out.

Yelp
What a sweet little place. Great selection of items! The young man working there yesterday morning was very helpful in finding exactly the tea I was asking about.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere, lots of tea choices, delicious sweets, very sweet and helpful staff - relaxing tea break with my buddy while shopping!

Yelp
The perfect place for a college student who wants to leave the campus bubble. The teahouse is serene and welcoming, and I love spending all day there drinking high quality tea and doing work. The staff knows their shit, and I'm consistently impressed by the quality of the tea. How is it that Middlebury, VT has a better teahouse than anything in Chicago? The quality is comparable to teahouses in NYC, although the atmosphere is much more slow paced, but hey it's Vermont, do you expect anything else? Great selection, I particularly like the Jasmine Pearls and the Moroccan Mint. Highly recommend as a study spot or even a date!

Nina D.

Yelp
Excellent tea..helpful recommendations from the staff as the menu is quite intimidating! She was able to find the perfect cup for me after asking a few simple questions. Not to mention the quality of the tea was top notch.

Ernie G.

Yelp
This place is such a hole in the wall! It's a really small place, but it's great! When you walk in, you smell all of the amazing scents of the teas they have inside. Then you order up front and take a seat. They bring the tea over to your table(even if you're outside). The tea here is really good! They bring a large teapot to your table that you can just keep drinking from( so your tea stays really warm. Also, the chocolate here is soooo good. I had the White chocolate lavender chocolate and could not get over it. The service here is really good. The person working brings you a new pot of hot water for your tea and asks if you would like anything else.

Meg C.

Yelp
Love it here!!! They have an incredible number of teas to choose from, a beautiful space, and helpful folks to answer questions. I especially like the upstairs area with no-shoes and low tables... it is the perfect place to drink some deliciousness and get some work done in a beautiful and calming space.

Yelp
Stone Leaf Teahouse has a variety of loose leaf teas, as well as fresh steeped-to-order items that you can enjoy. The interior has an inviting, Asian-inspired ambiance. The only thing warmer than the delightful tea is the friendly service you will receive from the outstanding staff.

Cat C.

Yelp
A nice little place, very beautiful inside. A bit overpriced, in my opinion, but there are of course tons of teas as well as a few treats. Tucked away in Marbleworks, plenty of parking. I've only been once but the service wasn't great--we ordered food with our tea but never got it. They were very nice though.

Joanne W.

Yelp
Great ambiance, excellent tea selection! Its a nice (and much more interesting) alternative to a coffee house if you need someplace to sip a hot beverage and read/work on your laptop/etc.

Yelp
I love Stone Leaf Tea House. When I've had a hectic day, trhe calm environment and delicious tea (so many to choose from!) is just the thing to soothe body and mind. This is a lovely little place, that visitors to Middlebury should not miss.
