Highlights

Situated in the foothills of east Oak Glen, California lies our family's microfarm of heirloom apple orchard, flower fields, and cultivated gardens. What began as a seed idea is steadily growing into a diverse landscape; combining regenerative farming practices with the joys of seasonal living to provide wholesome food that nourishes our community. Stone Soup's working agricultural model and practice of artisan skills inform our approach to u-pick offerings, farm tours, and organic marketplace. Follow our journey as we build on the corner stone of this ideal, we call farmaculture.

6 Orchards Near LA That Are Great For Apple Picking

"Stone Soup Farm might only be six acres, but they pack quite a bit into their Oak Glen space. There’s a 130-year-old heirloom apple orchard filled with varieties ranging from Fuji to McIntosh, archery fields, seasonal gardens, an interactive kid’s area, and perhaps most importantly, excellent spots for photos. Open weekends only, 10am-4pm." - brant cox

Loved talking to Faith about the story of her products and the farm! Everyone we came across here was so sweet. Walking up to the little farm, I was drawn to the little shop by its amazing scents and was welcomed with a warm greeting from Faith. Picked up one of the many candles she has in store. Unfortunately I arrived too early for picking at their orchard. But I will definitely be coming back in October to do so! Thanks again Faith, for your lovely words and stories but also creating this little gem in Oak Glen!

Very pleasant family experience in natural farm setting. Plenty of shade and places to sit. Small creek along the back of the farm adds special ambiance!

What a stunning little gem of an orchard! We found Stone Soup only after having endured the crowds and moderate chaos at another orchard up the road. I was intrigued by the name because I grew up reading the book so my daughter and I wandered in to discover the most beautiful children’s garden. It is an oasis of calm. I will definitely plan my next trip to land at Stone Soup in the afternoon so that tired kiddos can have some wholesome food and play and tired parents can have a cider cocktail and enjoy the breeze under the shade at the picnic tables. The whole vibe is so lovely and intentional. It’s easily my favorite place in Oak Glen!

Great farm for apple 🍎 picking and other fun activities, they have a 1880’s style. The bakery was great BUT the line was huuuge.. we had to wait about 1-2hrs just to order and it was worth it because the chicken pot pie 🥧 was AMAZING and the apple cider was great too, great fun activity for the weekend super recommend it !

Google
This place was really neat. Just so happened to come right before a tour of the orchard luckily. It cost 5 dollars a person but came with free tomahawk throwing so I'd say it was worth it. The stone soup was really good and apparently did have an actual stone in it! The views here were also amazing. All the workers were very nice and friendly as well.

I'm so happy we went here for my birthday! I got the picnic package for 5 to 6 people and it was well worth it! When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner and the experience was so wonderful! The farm is very cute and quiet and we were escorted to a quiet picturesque corner of the property where we had privacy. We had the space reserved for 4 hours which was more than enough time to eat, talk, and explore. Also, the food was excellent and we had leftovers to take home. We didn't get to pick any fruit because it was in between the berry and apple season, but I highly recommend this place for a date spot or celebration!!

Yelp
This is a review for their Family Farm Day, we just finished a wonderful day at Stone soup! They have tours running often throughout the day, and you get to learn about their farming methods as well as pick apples and take part of various activities. This farm has always been a family favorite, we've taken the kids here year after year due to its beautiful scenery and very nice staff. The store sells awesome marmalade! The tour is relatively short, but very informative, which is perfect for kiddos, and there's very few people compared to busy weekends! The activities such as panning for gemstones and candle dipping are very fun for the kids, and I cannot say enough good things about their new children's garden! I highly recommend this farm, they have beautiful private picnics as well!

Yelp
The farm is big, LOTS OF BEES around the dining area. I won't recommend eating there at all, the food is pricey and doesn't taste good either. If you are looking for a hike, then this is the farm for you. The trees are so spread out, if you want to get a variety of apples, you have to walk a lot. We went last year in early October, most of the apples on the tree are mostly gone. The only reminders are high up and small Will try a different farm nearby for picking this year

Yelp
My Boyfriend and I visited the farm this weekend to pick some blackberries. We had a great time! The staff was amazing! We felt like we were visiting a friend or family members farm. After picking we tried there blackberry lemonade and cornmeal pancakes (I believe). Both were delicious as well as our berries. I enjoyed exploring the Farm and admired how hard working the staff was as well as friendly. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
We wanted to do something festive for fall and came across apple picking in Oak Glen. We def lucked out because we made it the last day for apple picking of the year due to the poor crop this year. The farm itself is beautiful with apple trees all around, a little garden, little wooden houses and a bonfire picnic area. All the workers were so friendly and welcoming. Although many apples had already been picked by the time we went, we were still able to fill up a small bag which came out to be around $20. I would highly recommend this place for families because there was a little playground, axe-throwing, u-press cider experience and a tent for doll making. There was also a food truck if you wanted to grab some food. Since apple picking has ended for this year, I def recommend bookmarking this place for next year!

Yelp
Fortunately, my husband and I overshot our desired venue and ended up at Stone Soup Farm. We met one of the owners, Faith, at the Stone Soup Farm entrance. Faith is a warm, inviting lady who answered our never-ending questions and invited us in to see the venue. Stone Soup Farm is a charming micro-farm that provides: Numerous lovely picnic areas A vast children's discovery ground A store that offers yummy foods and unique products While touring Stone Soup Farm, we were lucky to have the opportunity to meet Faith's husband, Tim. He is the other Stone Soup Farm owner. Tim was gracious to give my husband an overview of the land and advise on how to rid gophers without using chemicals. My husband and I look forward to trying one of their seasonal dinners.

Yelp
My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary at Stone Soup Farm and it was so relaxing, romantic, and wonderful!! I strongly recommend being there at 10 a.m. It'll be worth it because it'll help you get a great parking space...The port a potty had plenty of hard soap and a great sink and lots of toilet paper.

Yelp
Friendliest people working here during our visit. Unfortunately there really wasn't too much going on when we went as the season is over for apple picking but the young lady at the gift shop who sells jams, candles and had some dried flowers around really made it special. She was fun, kind and informative. I wish I got her name- she had glasses and dark brown hair- we talked about video games! I really liked her customer service so much and the products of the shop felt unique and modern. I had to get a jar of the raspberry chocolate sauce....I wanted to get others but had to hold back. I also loved the ladies and one gentleman running the food area. Super nice and I loved the soup and mulled cider they made. It felt cozy and special that they made it in front of us. Definitely would love to come back to their farm while it's in season! It's a nice area to chill because everyone else is hanging elsewhere. I want to suggest some more photo ops opportunities if possible! I know the apple butter festival is coming up so hopefully it will bring you guys tons of business! Thank you for making our time chill and welcoming when visiting!

Yelp
A nice tucked away gem in the oak glen community. Lots of activities for kids, a tree house, and yummy drinks. The kids played, sifted for gems, made a bird house. I definitely want to return as the seasons change.

Yelp
We went as a family for the Autumn Apple Festival and oh my it was busy. I think the holiday weekend was also a factor. I won't count that against them though. It shows that people love coming here and their advertising worked. The festival was $5/ person and they have them every weekend in October, so definitely check it out if you're near the area! Our boys had a ball using the apple picker to get their apples. We had ambitions to only get maybe 4 pounds of apples, but we wound up with about 10! They just had so much fun picking that we didn't really tell them to stop and you pay for what you pick. There was tomahawk throwing, horseshoes, gem panning, and crafting as well! This was a truly wonderful family event. We also bought some apple cinnamon butter and orange cardamom marmalade. We had both with toast this morning. Delicious! The marmalade surprises you though. You expect marmalade to be sweet, but this version had a spicy kick to it. Such an unexpected twist, yet still tasty! We can't wait for the apple butter festival in November!

Yelp
This is the best farm to visit! Extremely kid-friendly. And the sweetest staff. 1. Good space for apple picking. Entry was $5/person. They have short and long fruit pickers for the apples that are higher up. Pay by weight of what you pick. Apples are tart and perfect for muffins and pies. Purchase apples in the store by the exit which also sells other lovely products from their farm! 2. Well-kept porta potties we're great for the little ones! 3. They had a food truck with New Orleans fare (po boys, burgers, fries, lemonade etc). They also had fire pits for roasting marshmallows, homemade lemonade, and apple cider. Picnic tables for snacking or lunching. 4. Kid-friendly activity eg making dolls on the day we visited (for an extra fee), as well as treehouses, a fairy garden, and an area to pan for gems. The back area is amply shaded and perfect weather for a day of apple picking!

Yelp
Alas...Willowbrook Apple Farm had been slapped with hoards of visitors and there were no apples left the week we arrived...BUT FRET NOT, NINJAS! They have apples right next door...right over here. Stayman's Winesap plus other varieties at this farm and the one directly in the back of here... plus there's apple picking here and at the farm directly in the back, too! You can do everything here in addition to candle-making! I also bought my little pumpkin here. So from now on, we're going to pick apples Willowbrook- adjacent. We'll make this the destination.

Yelp
We had a great time today picking berries at Stone Soup Farms! Not very many raspberries but we got lots of blackberries! We did bring backscratchers and gloves which helped get the good berries in the back and to help avoid all the thorns! Each basket is only $6.00 and you can get a lot of berries! A few trees were available for apple picking. Raspberries were picked over and nothing to pick from. There was a cute little tent set up with delicious apple ciders and gifts for purchase where you can sample most of the products (except for the apple ciders). Parking along the side of the toad was easy.

Yelp
One of my favorite apple farms in the area! It's one of the smaller farms but it's filled with different things! It's nice to get away from the crowded farms because this one is quite peaceful and cute. The flowers in the front look really nice too. They have a blackberry cider which was super delicious. They have apples they sell by the pound and not by the bag so you pay for what you want. The apples on the trees were very nice too - most of them looked great without any damages and their sizes were quite big compared to the other farms nearby. Lastly, the employees were all super friendly and helpful!

Yelp
Super fun date day! Went there yesterday on a fun day date! Fun to figure out which apples are which. To taste the different apples . Now the only one downside; We are still in a pandemic. It's still Covid time. The rule at the farm is once you are on the farm picking apples. You are required to wear a mask. However once we were on the farm, alot of people took off their masks. Although we are outside. I wish out of respect and kindness people would just keep their masks on. Otherwise very fun day !! Would definitely be back again .

Yelp
Came to Oak Glen to do some apple picking and based off the research I did this seemed like the best Orchard to do it at. We got there around 10:30 am on a Saturday and there was already no parking available inside the farm itself, but there is plenty of street parking. On our way here we passed by many Orchards, but they all either had long lines or their apple trees were kinda small. They carry one type of apple which is the Winepress apples which the owners told us are primarily used for baking and to me they taste sort of like Granny Smiths. There is a short orientation where the own tells you the history of their orchard and explains to the guests the varieties of events they have going on in the farm including: apple cider pressing (which is done in time slots), pumpkin picking, and gem farming. Once we were done, they handed us either a smaller bag which had a 2lb minimum or a larger bag which had a 5lb minimum. Their trees were fairly large and each tree contained a good number of apples. We were able to get 5-6 pounds of beautiful apples between my party and we were very satisfied. You take your apples to be weighed under a tent which also sold a variety of pumpkins and baked goods such as pumpkin bread, pretzels, and pie! The owners and their crew were very nice and helpful and they even offered to help us take pictures of my party! Out of all the farms we passed by, I am glad we chose this one. Next year I will definitely be back here to get some more delicious apples for my family!

Yelp
Took a road trip here with 2 of my girlfriends from LA early Sunday morning. Arrived at the farm around 10:30am and was able to find parking quickly! The owners, Tim and Faith, were so sweet and had great conversation. They caught us up on the farm and upcoming holiday surprises they have. The candles they have on sale smelled amazing and the blackberry butter was delicious! Definitely try the blackberry cider for just under $5. You can also paint pumpkins, try archery and axe throwing! And of course, apple picking was so fun! We stayed from 10:30am-2pm. I would recommend getting there early to avoid the crowds that come in around noon. Had so much fun every second! COVID-safe and masks required. Hand sanitation available every where you turn. Will definitely have to visit again! Going to do a full Tik Tok review on my page: @amberolivia1

Yelp
We stopped at this location by mistake. We thought this was Riley's farm because they have a big o sign with Riley's name on it, but it's NOT. I guess they are related somehow, the employee said they're operated by Riley's Farm or vise versa. Employees are wearing Stone Soup shirts. As of today, they only have apples for picking, berries are gone, and pumpkins will be available next month. Admission fees are $5 per adult, not sure kids at what age are free. Apples are $3.50 per lb and minimum 3 lbs for picking. If you pick less than 3 lbs, you still have to pay $10.50. There are other kids activities like gem mining, bird house painting, yarn craft, axe throwing, archery,... I think $5 per activity. You need to buy the coins first and hand the coins to the employees at each activity site. There is a little shop selling food and drink. They put color ribbons on certain trees to mark if the trees are ready for picking and there is a white tent in the front for U-pick information. I really appreciated that all employees were super friendly and helpful. The only thing I disliked was the admission fee to get in the farm ground, this was just a little orchard compared to other farms that I visited. And on Riley's facebook page, they mentioned free admission many times, which gave me an expectation that this admission should be free also if they were operated by or related with Riley's farm. However, since they have EXCELLENT customer service, I still want to give them 5 stars. P/S: masks are not mandatory so you can know what to expect if you decide to give them a visit.

Yelp
Such a great time this weekend, as we brought our teenagers apple picking! The apple picking was awesome! So many trees full of apples high and low branches. Super friendly staff. Cider pressing was a blast and on top of that archery and tomahawk throwing! Tim, the proprietor was friendly and happy to chat. All around a gem of Oak Glen! Re: covid: masks were required, although not 100% enforced -- meaning a few people with exposed faces even in mask-required spaces.

Yelp
Definitely plan on spending the whole day here. There is plenty to do and much to keep the kids occupied. The staff was friendly, though I think they need more people at each location as it can get busy and slow things down. We waited over an hour and a half at the food station because there were not enough workers. At one point an entitled guest (there are actually quite a few guests like this at all the farms) walked up to the pick up line and a worker allowed them to order....which then caused more to line up. Everyone waiting an hour plus started to get upset and finally another worker stopped it. Plan to arrive early. Its mostly street parking after their parking is full. There is additional parking when you pass the farm if you don't mind a little walk. Bring a blanket or something to sit on as you will want to relax and enjoy the farm. Most people will wear masks here, unlike most of the other farms.
google avatar

Joelle C.

Yelp
Definitely a lot more apple trees here compared to Willowbrook. Some apples were hanging low that you can reach for them. And yes, they had a fruit picker ready for us. I really like how the orchard is set up. It's spacious and relaxing. They had activities in the back such as craft and gem stone mining area. There was an area where you can juice your own apple cider but you pay $22 for 20 minutes of juicing. Apple cider was good. It was $4 a cup. Here, you have to buy apples by the pound and it has to be a minimum of 3 pounds. Overall, a great experience in a very beautiful orchard.

Yelp
Stone Soup Farm is dope. Never have I ever thought we had apple picking in Southern California! Admission is $5 and apples are priced by the pound. They had all their trees available for picking and we were able to bring home 7 pounds of apples for like $20. The trees are marked with ribbons of the different kinds of apples. During COVID the policy is if you touch it you take it. They do not sell apple cider on site but you can get that a few doors down at a different orchard. They also give you unlimited tomahawk and archery with your admission. There is also food on site in case you didn't eat before the long drive to Oak Glen. Staff was super friendly and helpful in instructing us. There were tons of children and dogs around so if you got those be sure to bring them along as well!

Tanairi R.

Yelp
Great place to visit! The customer service is great. The activities that were offered were educational and fun. It was a scenic route, and we are definitely coming back. Activities: Gardening Candle making Ice cream making We found a hidden jewel!

Yelp
Fun ! Great staff. Apples were amazing and picking them was a good investment of time. Truly organic and they last way over a month.

Yelp
We went during the beginning of November and the early fall foliage was beautiful! This farm has some giant deciduous hovering over the game area and berry bushes. This is the oldest farm in Glen Oak and the trees are 130 years old so they're taller than those at other farms. Don't fret, they give you fruit pickers and give you the run down on picking the best fruits and best practices before you start. I've never thought apples have distinct tastes but after trying 14 different varieties across three orchards today, I think the wine sap at Stone Soup is the best! Minimum 2lbs per group at $3.5/lb. it was worth every penny. There are also various activities going on, cider pressing from an old school press, pumpkin painting, gem panning, doll stuffing, bird house painting. Parking in the street was tough, as people can lock you in downhill. It happened to us and we were so close to rear ending... just a few mm off. Phew. There are a bunch of farm entrances right next to each other (Riley's Apple, Willowbrook, and Stone Soup). I suggest visiting a few for the heck of it but definitely get some wine sap apples before you leave.

Bethany K.

Yelp
What a fun place! Family owned & operated, this farm is much more charming & quaint than other commercialized "u pick" farms nearby. Lots of fun activities for the kids, including bird house decorating, candle dipping, cider pressing, gemstone panning, and rag doll making. Kind & helpful staff. Clear guidelines for apple picking. A nice little snack bar & store available too. We were glad to be there from 10am-12:30 on a Saturday. It looked like everything was getting crowded after that - at this farm & every other farm in the area too! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
I went to Stone Soup Farm (clarifying because here are several "Riley's" businesses) on 10/6/17 with my family (mom, kids, cousins). I'm a teacher and my class has been studying apples and the life cycle of an apple tree. So the HW was for everyone to go Apple picking that weekend. The experience was FANTASTIC! My kids enjoyed the children's corner where they chose Candle Dipping. We were going to do gem panning but opted to take the easy road out and buy a pack of Gem's from the store. Lol! We ate some of Johnny's amazing hoecakes and I even got the recipe to have hubby make them at home. My daughter really want to to the archery and knife throwing but you have to be 8. We went to the back and picked pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. Another cool experience because next week my class is learning about the Life Cycle of Pumpkins and you know what the HW will be... you guessed it! Visiting a pumpkin patch. Finally the kids were ready to pick apples. The farm owner Mr. Riley (Jonathan?) explained the Farm history to us, why there are so many farms with his family name, and how to properly pick apples. We picked the Winepress blend (I didn't like it but my family loved it. I prefer really sweet apples). But I can definitely say it was juicy and fresh. When we checked out the other owner, Mrs. Riley, rung is up. She was sweet as pie and adorable. Oh yeah, everyone was dressed in colonial attire which made a really fun experience too. In the gift shop, Faith's mom helped us and she was also sweet as I don't know what. I loved the family vibe even before I figured out who was family!! We didn't experience one bad crew member and everyone was patient and kind. I will definitely visit again!

Kristy V.

Yelp
My family and i went there today. We had a wonderful time. It is family owned. The owner spoke with us when we arrived and gave us map of all the different places to visit on the farm as well as where all the different apples were. Lots of fun places for the kids to explore and they had kid crafts as well. Food smelled delicious but we didn't eat because there was no where to sit and eat. I do hope they add picnic benches for the eating area. Parking was kinda hard too. But well worth it. We will for sure go again.

Jim C.

Yelp
We know that many of the farms in this area are run by some pretty extreme right-wingers, so we picked this place as it was one of the only farms with a COVID strategy on their website. We don't regret our trip, because it is a beautiful orchard and everyone is very friendly, but it's not safe - if you're high risk, I'd avoid it. The signs on the property say you only have to wear masks when in line or inside (despite the fact you're within six feet of people pretty much everywhere), and the signs end with the line "What we really want is for people to enjoy the air." So, yep, it's anti-mask land; even in the "mask areas" there were many, many people without masks, and none of the staff members did anything; one staff member actually told me that I should take off my mask. A beautiful farm, yes, one of the nicest in the area, but know what you're getting yourself into.

Phyllis M.

Yelp
Took our 5th grade students on a field trip to Stone Soup Farm today. They were so welcoming and greeted me by name! We were limited on time since we traveled from the Victorville area, but they led us through candle dipping, cider pressing, making Apple Crisp, and early pioneer games. Parking was easy and we all had a wonderful time. I would recommend this for field trips, or just for a family visit on the weekend!

Mary W.

Yelp
Very disappointing visit went to their blackberry picking event today arrived early as suggested in their fb post. I watched as the gate was closed and people were turned away before the event even started. I dont think any more than 50 people were let inside before they told the rest of us in line that there were no more berries. Out of berries in 40 minutes, really? I would suggest anyone thinking about attending future picking event to try one of the other farms on the road dont waste your time at this one. And the only reason I gave them one star is because yelp wouldnt let me post without it. Negative 4 stars

Yelp
A beautiful and magical orchard with lots of little stations set up throughout the orchard: cider pressing, kids crafts and candle making as well as two markets. My daughter and I made a rag doll and birdhouse and loved it. Beautiful orchard and friendly staff.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were originally looking for Rileys Farm to pick apples and stumbled upon this gem. A very nice gentleman (cannot remember his name, but was there yesterday afternoon 11/03) who was greeting, guided us in and explained some of the history about the orchard and how apple picking works. He gave us some samples of the winesap apples (DELICIOUS) and how apparently it's the only orchard in Southern California that has them. We decided the orchard looks cool and everyone working there was so nice, to stick with picking our apples here. As we started, the owner of the orchard himself guided us to some of the trees that still had some apples and explained where to look. We managed to get some great apples and man are they delicious. Checking out was quick and easy and the cashier was outgoing and sweet. We wanted to press our own apple cider, but unfortunately did not have enough time. They had more activities and I wish we could've stayed to try some. Also, while there's no actual restrooms, they have "Porta Potties" which I always try to avoid using, but wow. They were clean and fully stocked and have hand washing stations outside. Overall I was thoroughly impressed and next year we'll definitely be back to Stone Soup. Thanks for amazing apples and an amazing experience!

Yelp
I went to Oak Glen for the first time today with my daughter. Although Stone Soup Farm's apple u-pick is a late-season variety (starting in October), I parked on the street in front of their property on my way to a neighboring farm that opened for apple-picking this weekend. I was fortunate to meet the owners of Stone Soup as they tended to their farm. Both husband and wife were exceedingly kind and made my daughter and I feel welcome as we were just passing by their property. They have great looking apple trees, blackberry shrubs, a wooden shed that looks like it is from a storybook (in front of which many families were taking pictures) and a beautiful bed of flowers in front including fragrant lavender and bright sunflowers. It is a picturesque place and I plan to return with my daughter in October for their Halloween festival.
google avatar

Allyson C.

Yelp
The worst place to pick apples. The people are mean and the apples are expensive. There are a ton of rules and it is not an enjoyable experience. Worth the wait at another farm.
google avatar

Justin N.

Yelp
Enjoyed our visit here in October- 4 out of 5! Fun afternoon, have enjoyed several visits here. It's on the smaller side but friendly staff and inviting. I recommend the cider pressing. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Noooooooooo. This orchard was a pain to visit. First off we had to wait in the sun and be counted off in groups of 20 to go to a 10 minute "training" on how to pick apples before being allowed to take a bag. They make you buy apples that have fallen and are bruised or have holes in them- turns out to become quite expensive and left us wanting to get out of there. Other orchards sell you a bag and let you go with a few reminders and you can have fun with the freedom- this is an orchard you can skip.

Yelp
Today is the first weekend apple picking was available. It was very crowded! The staff was extremely apologetic and patient. A person got sick and the fire department and ambulance had to come. They handled it very professionally. We waited for about 30 mins for our group's turn to pick apples. They let about 30 people go at a time. The apples are called wine sap apples. They have 1/2 peck and 1 peck bags avail to fill. The cost was 3.25 per lb. Our 1 peck bag cost about 24.00. Gallons of apple cider were $20. We bought a 16oz cup of iced cider for 3.50. It was delicious! I'm not a fan of apple juice, but this is so different! Sweet with a tart ending. They also sell jams, soaps, and lots of other goodies in the gift shop. Will definitely return before the season is over.

Yelp
Most fun we've ever had in an apple orchard. Heirloom apples, pilgrim days games, delicious apple cider, yummy johnny cakes, candle making, it was such a blast. We did not expect that much fun and learning but we truly did. The staff here made our pilgrim experience legit.

Yelp
Love this place. So many fun and engaging activities for adults and kids. Great group of young people working here. The prices were great and it was a wonderful experience for my daughter to make her own apple cider. Next year we want to make it early enough to pick apples. This place is worth the drive!

Yelp
We come to Oak Glen every year... and we always enjoy it even knowing the over pricing for most of what you buy. We stopped here to pick apples which was great for my 4 yr old and 2 yr old son. We stopped and grabbed our bag to pick apples, which we were told would hold 2lbs worth of apples. So naturally, we stocked it full! Only to have it rung up to $16.... which to our surprise we found out the bag actually held 4lbs worth of apples. No biggie, the experience was fun and we enjoyed it but if you're gonna sell a product it would be courtesy to inform your customers the accurate information. Then we purchased two pop-guns for my boys. Walked to the car.. only to find one gun didn't "pop". So I walked back to ask if I could exchange the gun.... please note this was a five minute span from when i purchased the gun, opened it and returned back inside. Only to be told that the gun wasn't broken it's just when they're new they don't work at first. So the cashier took the gun and popped it, only to prove it didn't work. She tried again and it did. So she handed it back and said it's not broken. So I tried in a stream of continuous motion and not once did the gun pop. I asked again if I could exchange the gun and she told me no, because I had opened it already and she couldn't resale it. Um.... 1) how could I not open the gun to see it didn't work and 2) good! You shouldn't be selling a broken toy anyway. I was honestly shocked. The toy was $5. Which I assume would obviously have a mark up, so she what? Bought the gun for $2.... or less? It's petty I know, but the fact that she could see her cheap toy was not working as it should and refused to simply damage it out and exchange it was just ridiculous. We won't be coming back. Basically.... buyers beware.

Yelp
We had such a great time visiting the farm! Tim and Faith were so kind and we had a lovely time there. We went during Blackberry picking season and the farm was beautiful and the wild blackberries were delicious!

Yelp
The good thing about this place is there is no line to get in. But the disappointing part is that their rules kinda turns u off........I get their points and their reasonings behind those rules....but the way they say it....just makes u feel like u don't want to be there.

Yelp
Went to Oak Glen for apple picking. When we parked and started walking to get in a long, long line at a neighboring farm - we passed Stone Soup Farm and a very friendly gentleman invited us to visit their orchard - with no lines! After a short intro to apple picking at Stone Soup, the owner came by and told the interesting story of how Stone Soup Farm got started. We picked from mature, apple laden trees. The Winesap apples were delicious. There were arts and crafts for the kids. Just a beautiful place to enjoy our morning. This is where we will come next year as well.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of taking my son to Stone Soup Farm this weekend. We enjoyed being greeted with kindness and smiles. Everyone had a smile and though it was busy, I felt like they had time for us. I appreciated that everyone seemed very knowledgeable. I get the impression from their Facebook page that they weave knowledge and education through everything that they do and it seems to be true. While I did not have many questions myself, I overheard a quick friendly response to anything being asked. We participated in the gem panning. It was fun! My son delighted in discovering his loot. It was hosted in the shade of the trees which were just gorgeous. As a matter of fact, there was plenty of shade and consideration for guests everywhere. I looked on while a friendly young lady demonstrated rag doll making. I observed creativity at its best from young hands designing a birdhouse and telling her grandmother her decorating plans as she went. A family was making candles together, the father had a perfect rocking rhythm as he dipped again and again. It was such a joy to be there with my own family sharing in these family experiences in such a beautiful little farm. By the time we took all that in and pressed our very own cider to have at home, we went into the quaint store seeking the rumored blackberry apple cider. Lo and behold there was the most delicious smelling soaps~some almost edible seeming, so rich and decadent. At last, we quenched our thirst with some incredible cider with just the perfect amount of blackberry. I am looking forward to coming to this farm year after year to see all the new things they will do. Apple picking will be a delight too-they say it is coming next weekend. I love how they seize the opportunities to educate in everything they do with the demonstrations. It seems like learning from artisans is almost a thing of the past but it is recaptured here at this farm again and again no matter which activity you participate in. Thank you for keeping these traditions alive and showing them with kindness and genuine care to our community.

Yelp
We went here last year and truly enjoyed the family friendly atmosphere. We picked wonderful apples, panned for gems (the highlight for me personally!) and bought homemade apple butter that was so tasty! This farm is like going back in time and enjoying precious activities with a gorgeous backdrop! We'll be going back again and again and I encourage everyone to do the same!
