I dropped in for lunch on a Friday, and it was packed. That's usually a good sign that you've picked a solid lunch spot. In a town like Escanaba, your options are going to be limited, and I was pleased with the quickness in which I was seated and served. My server didn't lead my wrong with the tempura battered asparagus appetizer recommendation, and the Friday lunch special of fish tacos was good too (though they could leave off the shredded cheddar). All in all, a solid find, good eats, friendly "yooper" service, and a not unreasonable price.

I recently dined at Stonehouse, and it was a fantastic experience. I ordered the steak, fries, and a Caesar salad, and each item exceeded my expectations. The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking—juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right. The Caesar salad was fresh, with a rich, creamy dressing that complemented the meal well. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was prompt and attentive, rounding out a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend Stonehouse to anyone looking for a quality steakhouse. I'll definitely be returning!

A MUST stop for anyone who loves an old fashioned supper club. The staff is amongst the best I have ever experienced. The food was over the top good, and EVERYONE is beyond friendly! We HIGHLY recommend you stop EVERY time you are even remotely in the area!!!

Haven’t been to the Stonehouse for a couple years and it was just as good as I remembered! I ordered the lake perch with the gourmet mac and cheese on the side and it was delicious! Service was great and I enjoyed the wine selection as well. It can be a bit of a wait to get seated if they are busy, but thankfully we arrived at a time where we only had to wait about 10 minutes before getting seated.

Stone house is your typical Midwest supper club. We really enjoyed our night here. For starters we ordered the fried goat cheese and had the bacon spinach salad. The fried goat cheese was creative and unique. We absolutely loved it 5/5 The bacon spinach salad was a little off putting and we didn’t care for it 2/5 For entrees I ordered the medallions au pouvre and my wife got the prime rib. Both were very good. She got hers with whipped garlic mashers which is what mine came with. Both were 5/5 We got the carrot cake as a take away dessert. Again, very good.

Atmosphere was cozy and clean. Service was attentive and prompt. For example they offered to fill coffees and waters on regular basis. The bread was so delicious served with whipped butter (extremely nice touch). We had the house salad which was a very tasty strawberry and almond salad with vinaigrette. The only improvement for me would be goat cheese instead of mozzarella. The broiled whiteish was cooked perfectly and we ordered the vegetable of the day which very nice blend of cooked veggies (carrots, broccoli ,green beans) in an herbed butter. The coffee was very good as well. I wish we had saved room for dessert.

We went for the first time ever at lunch. We had the broiled whitefish, salad, and rice pilaf and the bbq ribs, fries, and chicken pot pie soup. The whitefish was perfect and came out served nice and hot, which is important when getting this type of fish for sure. The ribs were good with a tasty flavor of bbq sauce. Waitress was friendly and spot on sharp. The place was hopping busy at 1:30 pm. Well managed and very friendly. Clean interior, nice half wrap around bar with peaceful lighting. Next time we will go for the supper menu. I attached some photos. Try this place out, you will like it.

We ate lunch here today Aug 27th. Two people, total $35! First of all the service was excellent! Secondly the food was excellent! We had the club sandwich with onion rings and my wife had the Shrimp and Crab Melt with fries Thirdly the portion size was huge. The place is very nice. Linen tablecloths and napkins. It was lovely. We had to take half our food home for supper! Definitely recommend

This was definitely the place to be for lunch as it was packed. So much so that we bellied up to the bar for our lunch to get a quicker seat. The bar tender was fantastic. There were several small groups in the bar area and she was handling them all quickly and with down-home kindness. We heard the grouper was amazing but we just weren't that hungry to take on that big of a lunch. We opted to split a Cobb salad and it was the perfect amount. They even split it for us. Love when restaurants do that (and don't charge you to split a meal). Salad was fresh. Chick was tender. Bread was yummy. Great choice. It was a great stop.

Enjoyed a few lunches at this restaurant. I came in for a sandwich, but have come back because of the onion rings! Really big with great battering. Some of the best I've had. Have always sat at the bar. The staff, and the local customers have always been very welcoming and friendly. This place has a great location in town, so no matter which way you take into town, you're going to go bye the Stonehouse. If you're hungry, this is a great stop! Looks like they have good cocktails too!

Great food, top notch staff and while it DOES get very busy, it's worth the wait. Recommended.

Where do I begin? This is hands down our favorite restaurant EVER. We've been coming here for now 5 years and can't get enough. Anything we've ever ordered is just the best of the best. The staff is always so friendly and professional. I wish we lived closer (well, we're only 25 miles by water but a 4 hour drive or an hour boat ride in summer ).

We arrived at 5:05pm to the parking lot. We were seated at one of the last open tables. This is just an indication of the popularity of the food. And we wholeheartedly agree. The atmosphere is like a supper club with tablecloths, and nice table settings. Our waitress was a masterful expert supported by a strong team. The hostess seats you and takes your drink order, the bar staff deliver the drinks, a waitress brings the best fresh bread and takes your supper order. Whew! High five team! Our food was delicious. The Brie appetizer was grand, it was also fabulous the next day! The walleye meunière was perfect. The prime was perfectly rare. The lobster bisque was good. The strawberry almond salad was delish, house made vinaigrette too. We left without dessert or after dinner drinks but we will try that another time. Large menu with, I'm sure, something to please most diners.

We had a group of five for lunch. Restaurant was busy but service was very good. Food was great. Lunch prices were very reasonable. Dinners are much more expensive. All of us were happy with our meals. We will return whenever we're in town.

Seated immediately, quick service. Lynn was our waitress, she was wonderful and attentive! We had a party of 6, most of us had the prime rib. It was excellent! We will definitely be back!

It was very busy on a summer Tuesday night for good reason. The service was superior and the food was excellent. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer. Chips were perfection. The dip was also very good. For entrees, we ordered honey pecan chicken salad and steak Stonehouse. Both good but each could have a little lighter dressing/sauce. Easy enough remedy to order the dressing on the side for the salad. The atmosphere vibe was casual fine dining. Think mainly people 50+ with a few young folks sprinkled in. The vast menu surely has something for everyone.

Excellent food service & ambiance! I guess there normally closed Sunday but it was Mothers Day, we both had the special was Prime Rib it was excellent you could cut it with a fork!! Thanks so much our waitress was very nice & did a great job! We sat at a table in bar area for two... we we're traveling through the Upper Peninsula on our way home from Minnesota!

Food is generous, staff very friendly and you can't beat the lunch specials. Affordable.

Great service and food I highly recommend the restaurant, you will not be disappointed. The restaurant has been updated is very comfortable and inviting inside and outside.

The food is always excellent but I end up feeling rushed.The best way I can describe the wait staff is to say they are perfunctory. Also the waitperson asks how your food is but doesn't stop to hear your answer. Maybe 1 out of 4 times did I get asked if I wanted a refill on my pop. When my husband was asked and indicated he would like one he was asked if the 1$ they charge for a refill was ok. Weird. Needless to say we will go back there because they seem to be the best place to eat for a distance.

Friendly service. Busy place! If the locals like it, it must be good! I had a lavender vanilla latte half sweet. Very well prepared and hot! My husband had latte and asked for extra espresso shots. It was good and hot and we enjoyed the friendly patrons while we waited for the rain to let up.

My friend and I recently spent a weekend in Escanaba and had this on our must visit list. We arrived on a Saturday right as they opened at 5pm. When we arrived, there was already a line at the door. My friend put in our names and we went to the bar to wait. We were told it would be about 30 minutes. We ordered drinks. My bourbon old fashioned was very good and only $5.50. My friend's rum and coke was $3.50. Very much a good value. About 10 minutes in we were called to our table. The dining room is dark and old school supper club. It's comfortable. It was also packed. Our service was exceptional and very friendly and warm. I ordered the Atlantic Red Salmon...a la béarnaise.  $23. It was perfectly cooked with a great sauce. It came with a choice of sides. My Caesar was excellent the twice baked potato was extremely flavorful. Nothing needed salt - the seasoning was on point. The bread served before the dinners is exceptional - soft, garlicky and tasty. My friend had the Great Lakes Platter...Broiled whitefish & walleye with beer battered Perch.  $23 with macaroni and cheese. He loved it and said every component was excellent. Our only regret was that we didn't have more room to try more things. This place is a treasure.

We were in town visiting family and had lunch at the Stone House. Location is great, lots of parking and handicapped accessible with ramp and side door. The place was full but with a chilled atmosphere! Friendly staff and super waitress Mary was the Best! Amazing menu and everything was Delicious!! And reasonably priced too! Highly recommend you check them out!!

We were there shortly after opening and had to take the last table, a two-top in the bar. The service was good, and the food was wonderful. I started with Lobster Bisque which I highly recommend. My Caesar salad was passable but not exceptional, and I'd skip it next time. Sally ordered Walleye Meuniere and thought it was the best fish dish she had ever had! I chose the Mixed Grill and found it delightful as well. In all, I understand why Stonehouse is so popular, and I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Stopped in on my way to Marquette and found a gem! Fantastic lunch of salmon and rice pilaf (got the last of the lunch specials so the next guests ordered the same dish from the dinner menu). Deliciously grilled with perfect seasoning. Engaging staff welcoming this southern boy. I'd love to come back. Fantastic.

Fantastic food !! Whitefish piccata was so tasty and salmon salad perfect. Service was good ... but, the food ...!!

The food and service are both outstanding! I highly recommend the seafood Au Gratin. It's creamy, cheesy, and full of Big chunks of seafood! The calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly. The baked Brie appetizer is heaven sent! Steaks were seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. 10/10. I will be back for sure. It's a hidden treasure in Escanaba and well worth the 18 hour road trip from home.

The lunchtime bartenders have no clue what a Dry Martini is They insist on your glass being half full of Vermouth no matter what you order If want to attempt ordering this you'll have to spell it out for them and then watch over their shoulder

I have eaten at the Stone House a couple of times when I've been in Escanaba for the day. It is always remarkable. This past weekend I had the elk chop special and it was fantastic. The service is always top notch as well. I have a problem with wheat and they offer GF pasta if you ask.

We were visiting from Southern MI, our first time at this restaurant. Very nice restaurant. We went for lunch. The food was excellent. Large quantity. We had the special, three large pieces fish, twice baked potato, mixed vegetables, coleslaw, baked beans, and a slice of bread. 15.99 . The staff was very friendly and attentive even though they were busy. We definitely be back on our next trip.

What a pleasant surprise. The Stonehouse is an almost classic supper club - without relish trays. Good cocktails, good food and extremely friendly staff. For a mid-week evening, they were packed. They told us 15 minute wait. It was 7. Connie, our waitperson, couldn't have more accommodating. She took time with us explaining the menu and getting us to the place where we ordered just the right dish. We were not disappointed. His perch was Just the way he likes them and my veal liver with onions and bacon was delicious. All in all a delightful experience. Would highly recommend and will return when we are in the area.

Back in town visiting family and decided to visit family. We stopped at The Stonehouse for a nice lunch and we're not disappointed. My husband ordered the Grouper sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich was giant and delicious. The onion rings were perfectly fried in what I assume was beer batter. I had the steak Boursin with a twice baked potato. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium and was melt in your mouth. The prices were so reasonable and we'd easily pay 50% more for the same meal in Houston. Only disappointment was that we didn't have room to try the dessert because I'm sure it would have been amazing.

Happened upon this restaurant with Yelp assistance and it did not disappoint. Filet was excellent and service was wonderful. Will go back when we are in the area again. The Riesling was cold and crisp. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Fairly new to the area and been exploring restaurants. Finally found the one! Went here on a Friday night with my wife and had one of the best dining experience that we had had anywhere in quite some time. The salad was very fresh and had a great strawberry dressing, I had the shrimp scampi on rice pilaf and it was absolutely divine. Comparable to what you would be served in Florida. We sat in the bar and it was a little loud but that's typical. The place is very well run the servers were excellent the food was absolutely perfect and came out in a reasonable amount of time. We will definitely be back I just will be our new spot for date night!

Tablecloths, good service, excellent fish dishes that are big enough to feed two. What's nt to like?

Celebrated our honeymoon at The Stonehouse tonight, and it was so good! We started with Caesar salad and the seafood chowder, which were great choices. I had the pecan scallops. So many great flavors in one dish! My husband had the seafood platter (perch, walleye, and whitefish) with garlic potatoes. I think I win for best meal tonight, but both were really good. We would definitely come back next time we're in town!

Fresh water fish platter was out of this world! Very busy local restaurant that is family owned and operated as I understand. Service was excellent as well.

Had a delicious meal, and reasonable prices. This place does not take reservations and it was packed on a Monday nite. We ate t the bar which was fine. Great place to get a steak. Their fresh bread was to die for!

Hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever been .... we had the mixed grill which was done perfectly... the chocolate strata pie was delightful.... service was great.... will definitely be back next time in escanaba

Just had my 2nd visit 8/26/21 and both visits have been amazing. I had the Grouper with a spinach salad (hot bacon dressing) and the gourmet Mac and Cheese for my sides. The food was so good. I had a blueberry lemon drop martini to start which was yummy. My thoughts after my meal is that what could make this meal perfect is a creme brûlée for dessert. Lo and behold the first dessert the waitress told us was creme brûlée. My meal was indeed perfect. The experience was so good we're going back tonight!

Wow, very impressed. I had the 10 oz prime rib it was more like 18 couldn't eat it all but it was delicious. There special was the ribs my 88 yr old mother ate it all she loved them. I also had the French onion soup, not the best I've ever had but was very good and i would get it again. Overall I would give a solid 4.5 out of 5. It did look like the waitresses were short like most places now a days but the ones there busted their butts to take care of everyone. I would suggest going after 6:30pm since it seemed slowed down.

The service and food here was absolutely tremendous to die for even cook steaks to the perfect temperature in rareness whenever you order, and it has amazing food catered towards kids and adults alike, great atmosphere for eating. An amazing staff as well. Amazing memories, amazing food amazing place 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend.

Had a great lunch with great service. The pork loin was great and the Lobster Bisque was excellent.

We ate here and all the food was amazing! The prime rib was delicious and we split the meal and it seemed liked they gave us more prime rib than we would have gotten without splitting it. My son had the kobe burger and he said it was the best he had. He also had the gourmet Mac n cheese which I thought was very good as well. The breaded pork chops and the chicken broccoli and cheese were great too! As you can see we all enjoyed all of our food and will definitely go back if we are ever in the area again as some of us live in Florida.

Pre Dinner tossed salad with house made strawberry salad dressing. All I can can say is AWESOME! The tossed salad just comes with lettuce, radishes, and carrots. For an up charge you can get all the normal fixings. The bread you can tell was house made. It's soft with "Everything" as a crust. My drink I'm sipping. The water tastes fine. Just saying that because other Michigan cities are having concerns. The main course was awesome. My steak was medium rare instead of what I ordered medium. But better undercooked than over. The main meal needed some seasoning, the sauce was good but could have been great with a bit more salt. The reason I'm giving 4 stars because this dish was $26. Overall, service and food excellent. A great place for me to visit since I'm 6 hours from home.

It's my worst pick-up experience. The restaurant was full of people and no one was wearing mask except for one waitress, who's wearing it on her chain. Unfortunately, staff didn't take COVID-19 seriously. Two sides were missing but we couldn't get any kinds of compensation. The food was not cheap but tasted terrible. I would never ever go to this restaurant again.

This restaurant made it very obvious that they do not serve black people and are very racist! No one wanted to even seat us and we waited for a waitress for over 15 minutes. They don't even deserve this one star at all!!!

The BEST restaurant in the UP!! Food is top quality and the bar tenders are the best. I am amazed every time I eat there!! Prices are comparable to everywhere else and yet we get so much more for our money. I will eat here every time I come into town- the food is so good and the service is amazing you can't beat it. Small town feel but big town service.
