The 11 Hottest New Cocktail Bars in DFW

"Everything old is new again when the Stoneleigh P moves from it’s original location to a new spot on Lemmon Ave. Same good times, same wild nights, same strong pours. New location." - Courtney E. Smith

Everything was very salty but still taste good. Homemade fried chips are good 👍 Price was very nice and friendly staff. Not that crowded but good view to watch a football games here.. Worthy to have a try..

Google
First time back in years. While I loved the old location, the new spot offers a great vibe and holds true to the original character.

Google
Great Dallas bar that we like to go to before or after events downtown. If you’re lucky you will get Gabby as a server, she’s amazing and always delivers the best experience.

This place has been in business for 50 years. My friend has introduced me to it. It is a bistro bar. They are famous for their burgers and the salads are great too. I tried their Stoneleigh P burger and it was delicious. Before they opened the place was a pharmacy . I understood that they could not renew their lease and the restaurant will close its doors next year. It will not get a chance to be 51 . Check it out!

Google
We love the original location but this one has almost the exact same vibe! It’s a great spot for happy hour and a bite to eat. The food was slightly overcooked but everything else great. Great service, great drinks, and the happy hour is solid. I got the chicken sandwich, buffalo style. Also, being dog friendly is a big plus!

Google
This was my first time eating here and the food was delicious. My sumo club decided to go here for lunch after our keiko so we had about 10 in our group. I ordered the Cajun wings with sweet potato fries, while most of the others ordered various pizzas. The fountain drinks are large and they had a decent selection of beers. I had Topo Chico. The prices are very reasonable, service was good... a little slow, but we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a deal breaker. We ate outside since the weather was nice - plus we were a lil sweaty from keiko so we didn't want to funk up the restaurant hahaha. Overall, I would go back. Highly recommend for everyone looking for good food and relaxed atmosphere. I'll try to remember to take pics next time.

Google
Had to stop by this oldy but goody, Stoneleigh P never disappoints with their burgers with their special sauce, along with their chips and topped out off with a delicious Root Beer. With so many memories in this restaurant and the tunes that are playing all day, this is your perfect neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name. DON’T leave without trying the Godiva Pie!!

Google
I was skeptical about the relocation of the stoneleigh p bc it’s always been a staple. However, it’s still the same great atmosphere. Mondo the bartender is amazing. He really knows how to interact with the crowd and keep the party popping. Fried pickles were delicious !!!!

Yelp
Cody was extremely helpful and had good customer service. The drinks were fairly priced, and the food is good

Yelp
GREAT happy hour spot. Got 6 drinks 2 orders of the happy hour wings (6 per order) and a quesadilla all for $44. The wings were phenomenal and the quesadilla was good. We will definitely be back again

Yelp
Gave it a try today. The staff was friendly and the service was good. Most of our food was cold and the black beans were served in a small soufflé cup...just stingy and weird
google avatar

Yelp
This place seems great for a late drink and munch. The bartenders are quirky but attentive. The customers can make POC very uncomfortable by the stares and inappropriate comments to each other. Overall, This was a place to say i visited but most likely won't be back.

Yelp
I already loved Stoneleigh P in its old location, but I love it even more at the new location! Lucky for me, I can walk there. The staff is always on top of it and the bar food hits the spot, I already want to come back for the wings soon! Stoneleigh P is definitely a dive bar/sports bar vibe, so don't come here expecting anything fancy. Most of the bad reviews seem to be from people who don't quite get the concept of a dive bar. They also have plenty of TVs and a big projector for games. Go Mavs!!! There's a reason it's been around for so long, so be sure to come check out their new location!

Rebecca H.

Yelp
We live in the neighborhood- so glad to have this Dallas staple close to HP. The burger was delicious and ask for Gino if you can. He is 5 star! Our experience was a 10! This place is a great addition to the neighborhood! The burger is THE BEST! - ask for Gino!

Yelp
Favorite spot to hang out with my favorite people in Dallas :) Great service, great food, and great deals on drinks. 10/10

Yelp
Really fun bar that used to be a General Store and/or pharmacy when Dallas was settled. Not a dive bar, not a fancy bar, right in between, fun, younger Uptown Dallas c

Yelp
Just ate at The Stoneleigh Pea at its Lemmon Avenue location. It has a real "pub" vibe...dark, cool, mostly quiet. Still has the pool table. We were there at noon expecting a Friday crowd but hardly anyone was there ( 18 people by the time we left.). The "old" Pea, on Maple, across from the Stoneleigh Hotel was a favorite lunch place back in the day. Really good burgers. Quesadillas and Xotilla Soup with all the extras to round out your bowl. Raspberry and a mango iced tea. And the prices weren't bad. You could enjoy a satisfying meal, and get out of there for $20 with tip. So I was disappointed in the pricing being 20% more at the "new" Pea, despite portion sizes being smaller. The food was just ok. We ordered a Stoneleigh Pea burger and onion rings and a Mushroom and Spinach Quesadilla. They charged extra for the guacamole. Seriously though, lunch for 2 should not be almost $50. That said, service was friendly, fast and attentive. Parking lot was clean with ample spaces. Restrooms were clean. But for that kind of money, well lunch elsewhere from now on.

Yelp
Best wings in Dallas, great service! Always nice to go somewhere everybody knows your name.

Larry G.

Yelp
A complete Dallas institution, one of the oldest restaurants/bars owned by the same family in Dallas, I am a big fan ha ha ha , every person working there is fabulous and quickly becomes your friend always remembering how you like your drink ,it's like Cheers the TV show except set in Dallas instead of Boston. The food is always great, especially the chicken wings(everyone does chicken wings, but they have definitely the best I've had anywhere and the nachos are pretty awesome) and the specials are always creative and surprising, not always available in late hours, but they do have a separate late night menu
google avatar

Sammo C.

Yelp
It's your classic neighborhood bar. I don't even know how people are rating the food or service anything other than excellent. When you walk in you can look around and know what to expect. Drinks are a steal. Especially Sunday brunch- mimosas, screwdrivers and more for like $4. The food is bar food- go for the wings. Waitress/waiters are great. There is pool, tvs for game watching and ample space for friends. It's also currently decked out for Christmas. Let's not overcomplicate the Stoneleigh P...if you know you know.

Yelp
Food is the best and service is amazing Laura has made this one of the best places to go to in Dallas tx the staff are friendly and family
google avatar

Poppy F.

Yelp
Would definitely go back just for the chips. They were homemade and that's hard to find. The nachos were good but guacamole was just ok. Server and ambiance was good.

Shawn B.

Yelp
Love the new location on Lemmon Ave. Amazing place stay cool during the summer and enjoy yourself. Great staff, great drinks and great prices!
google avatar

Borgshi T.

Yelp
I had a great burger but still have no idea why it's called the Shrop burger. Service was a little lacking bc the bartenders seemed to be too busy but the burger was delicious and so was the house made potato chips. Great ambiance in this new location, Lemmon Avenue near Douglas. I'd never been in the building before it was renamed the new Stoneleigh P. Yeah I know it used to be across from the Stoneleigh hotel and was a P-harmacy or store from whence it gets its name. I would give it a 4 1/2

Yelp
Ok quick run down first for those quickly perusing Yelp trying to make a quick(Accurate) hangry decision! Go!!!!! Great Hamburgers and strong drinks reasonably priced in a vintage building with great people running the place. This place has been around for decades. Lets just say all of the people living in Uptown werent even born when they opened. Now, its looked at as a dive. I guess it is in part but, more importantly its old school. They still have a grill behind the bar with a plastic letter marquis style menu overhead. Its worth the trip just to see that one of those is actually still standing in Dallas Texas 2021! Located in a great part of town you can count on getting a strong adult beverage to wash down your superior food. Happy hour is happening so inside is going to be loud but people watching is extraordinary. There was a company having an after hours function when I was there so it was interesting to watch in a Loud way! They have a patio outside thats getting hot but in the evening when the sun goes down its ok. Easy, free, although limited parking. Check it out you wont be sorry

Yelp
Beef hot dog exceeded expectations - came out fast and hot. Also recommend the onion rings. If beer was colder this would be a 5 star. Excellent service from Casey and BIG screen for MNF with rocking music.

Bill R.

Yelp
A good middle of the road dive bar. Same menu as before moving plus some new specials. Pool table ,bar and booths. Service ok. Just bar food quiity. Limited parking a problem. When I need a cold beer I will return.

Yelp
Great service and a classic bar with a classic bar burger and appetizers. This review would have been the same in the 80s as now.

Yelp
Several so-so lunches at Stoneleigh P since it moved to Lemmon ... getting to it S-Bound on Lemmon requires going down a quarter-mile, a U-turn. Both us were occasional visitors on Maple .. this week was a total disaster. The fajita plate ... the only heat the meat got was from a microwave, and not much of that. I recognized the thin strips of beef; you buy 'em by the bag at any grocery. Cold. And tasteless. Rice on the plate: from another frozen box. Beans, warmed, but from a box. Chicken on the sandwich: same deal. Gumbo ... liquid in the pot is boiled off as it sits, that's planned for, if you order before about 12:15p it's far too watery. Good roux flavor, with less water it's a hit. Burgers ... I've had better recently. There's been a succession of failed restaurants in that building. Without some changes ...

Mahaleth S.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere, people, and food! I've always had an enjoyable time the P. Great happy hour deals and service. Nicole is hands down one of the best servers I've come across!

Frances ..

Yelp
I love the P! It's always a good time with friends new and old. Hang out play pool, or have a smoke in the covered patio.

Yelp
Simply a great bar. Service is friendly and helpful. While we only sampled the fried pickles, they were hot, good and plentiful. Drinks are cold and full. Good selection as well. Love the location and sitting und the big trees out front.

Carol K.

Yelp
I am a long time customer of the P but last 2 visits I have been totally ignored. Blown off by with staff. Once was alone, once with husband...just yesterday !! No Interest in even listening to the order....I know moving their location soon but I believe already hitting the skids. Asked twice for a glass of water then got up to find a glass and get water from bathroom. Goof luck if venture here... Carol

Yelp
I started eating here when I worked at Southwestern Bell. The burger and the house made chips really hit the spot. They've been consistently good over 40 years I've been eating here!!

Yelp
We stumbled into this place on the recommendation of someone checking into the Stoneleigh Hotel across the street. He said it used to be a pharmacy and that is was a Dallas institution. This, to us, was a good old fashioned neighborhood dive bar - complete with pool tables, music, a healthy mix of patrons, and just the right amount of off-putting dirty water smell wafting up from the sink under the bar. We had great service and the beers were cold. That was all we wanted. The food we saw coming out of the kitchen looked decent. Everyone we saw there seemed to be enjoying themselves. All you want in a good local bar - we look forward to our next visit.

Jesus P.

Yelp
great place to grab a drink and watch the game. they also have really good food and a lot of games to play.
google avatar

Josiah C.

Yelp
Local hang out with great dive bar perks including an 8ft pool table, cheap domestic beers, and daily specials. Chase, Mondo, V, Rebecca, Nathan, Blake, and the other staff members are top notch!
google avatar

Kelsey M.

Yelp
An unsafe situation happened and it was handled poorly. The staff needs better training. Not a safe space to be in.

Casandra P.

Yelp
Disappointed from a bartender who told me over & over again that speaking up for myself publicly, finally, wasn't "right". & also dissapointed by Laura who never apologized for my experience. Did not plan on being there but had no choice that night actually , Unless I just wanted to sit on the curb and twiddle thumbs until I was able to go home. So it just was what it was, but it was nice to have a beer with my mom late night either way . Wasn't quite expecting this interaction tonight as I really had nothing to be ashamed of For my previous review . So With that said and considering, I just Got off from Bartending with four hours of sleep, I got a little upset and yes The f bomb came out of my mouth a few times . I am very glad to never return here. In fact I was already phasing out but I just happened to get my mom interested in coming again lol , & plus Mando rocks. PEACE.

Carrie C.

Yelp
The greatest dive bar in the city. It is filled the most incredible people, employees and regulars alike. The food is the best food you can find in any bar (those hamburgers, man) and the drinks are good and cheap. When you think "I want a great bar" that is the Stoneleigh P. Solid, a fun place to chill or party, dance, laugh and have the best time of your life. I am constantly wowed every time I visit
google avatar

Shaunice W.

Yelp
I like the neighborhood feel here. The food is good. Go for the drinks and vibe. Wear comfy clothes that you wouldn't mind smelling like smoke once you leave. Great service too!

Yelp
Since 1972 - 49 years I come to The Stoneleigh P for the VERY BEST Hamburger & Spanish Salad in the United States of America .

Jack A.

Yelp
One of the worst experiences I've had. STEER CLEAR Good place if you are looking to have a terrible day.

Yelp
One of the best bars in the city. Great atmosphere and incredible food (everything is made in-house). Perfect spot to grab lunch/dinner/drinks, play pool, listen to the music guests get to cue up, or just hang. The people there are amazing. The servers are all the best and the bartenders are incredible. It feels like walking to a friend's house every time I come. The history here is also cool and it's worth asking Tom (the owner) or Mo (bartender there since the 80s) to tell you some stories. The place stands out among the basic uptown spots as a fabulous haunt that is well worth a visit or more.

Yelp
Nam! I enjoy sitting outside here and watching the cars go by. Great place to walk to. Quick wait staff. Fresh guacamole and delicious, huge brownie with creamy ice-cream. Dog friendly.

Ananya K.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday evening and we sat outside. We started off with margaritas, they don't use any plastic straws which I loved! The margaritas tasted delicious. For food I got the chicken nachos and my friend got the burger. I love love love that each chip is an individual nacho, this is one of the only places in Dallas I've seen this. The ratio of chip, chicken, cheese is perfect on each chip and with sour cream and guacamole tastes excellent. My friend really enjoyed his burger as well (you can get with fries or chips) and they now have ketchup which they didn't have a few years ago. This place is very different than the other uptown restaurants nearby but it's a chill, comfy restaurant with good food, drinks, atmosphere and service.

Joseph K.

Yelp
Reminded me of one of my favorites places back home when i was traveling for work. Great service and great food.
google avatar

Yelp
Wake up Dallas! Why is this restaurant empty on a Thursday night? The food was exceptional. My halibut was perfectly cooked and flavors were well paired. My mother's steak was so delightful she couldn't stop talking about it. Service was impeccable. Crabcake appetizer was loaded with crab ...by New England standards ...and we're waiting on dessert. Come on y'all.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I came into town to enjoy a nice wedding. We decided to go have lunch at this location and the service was less than good. We got our food and it was okay, but the buns weren't even buttered or warmed up so it was like a stale loaf of bread in your mouth. Very dry. But the patty and chips were good. So we gave it a second chance later that evening for drinks. It was even worse. This woman in a black tank top was the most rude waitress I've ever met. We asked how much a drink was and she said "I don't f*ucking know* I mean I get it's a bar and all but have some class and respect for your work environment and business. So we decided to play a round of pool with some other customers there and again the lady in the black tank top ran up into my husbands face and yelled at him because of his mask. Like really? She honestly should not work for anyone with that kind of actions. NOTE: Don't go at night if you don't plan on getting food. Even if you are on the same check with someone it's $5 per person if you don't order food... like a cover charge for what? Yelling at us.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Perfect, low key place for us during our stay at Le Meridian across the street. Fantastic staff. Wish it was located closer to home.
google avatar

A P.

Yelp
I don't understand the reviews whatsoever. The wait staff is super nice and they've always got great music playing. I've had several different things to eat there and everything was good! All those haters must've had a bad day to leave such awful reviews.
google avatar

Jeremy F.

Yelp
Came here with my fiancée, 11/13/21... took 15 minutes to be served the first drink at the bar when got there. 2 shots and a mixed drink(which we tipped 100% of the tab). Told the bartender to have the wait staff meet me and fiancé outside to start a new tab with that waitress. Waited 40 mins and nobody came to serve us and we left.
google avatar

Debbie S.

Yelp
They have the best beef and black bean nachos I have ever enjoyed so much! Love their outdoor seating area and pet friendly they even provide water bowls for you furry friend. Very shady, clean and relaxing place for lunch or early dinner. Great menu large portions and reasonably priced! This is a must every time I visit here. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended this little gem

Gail Z.

Yelp
This is a great place to meet friends and have a drink. Huge patio that's dog friendly. Good food, good drinks and friendly atmosphere. Watch your favorite sports on the multiple tv's or enjoy a game of pool. Great place to relax and spend time with friends.
google avatar

K M.

Yelp
I have been coming here for over 30 years. I have to admit haven't been in about 8 years. Decided to meet a friend to eat and watch football. The place was very slow. They had a steak special and shrimp basket special. I ask our waitress if the steak could be cooked MR. She said of course. Ok I'll try it. Itcame out more then we'll done, was terrible. My friends shrimp was bad too. We didn't see waitress for the next 30 minutes. So food was really bad service was bad. The bar had maybe 12people in it. So I'm guessing it will be another 8 years before I go back.

Yelp
When moving to Dallas, I wanted to find my spot. I found that spot with the P! The staff is great, the food and drinks are always good, prices are great for uptown Dallas. Plus, it's a great spot to hit up in any weather and any occasions. Whether you just had dinner at Nick & Sam's, finished a run on the Katy Trail, in town for some business and staying at one of the nearby hotels, or going to/leaving an event at the AAC, the P is the perfect place! Nice patio and good indoor seating. Favorite bar in Dallas and it's not even close!
