"Punch reigns at this Montrose watering hole, where the bar’s namesake concoction of Kentucky straight bourbon, elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice, orange bitters, and Sprite is served in a chic bowl just like the one grandma used to have. Available in half or full bowls." - Amy McCarthy

This was a nice chill hangout for me on a Saturday night. The indoor lighting and music were soft, and helped to create a generally calm and relaxing ambience. Seating arrangement was good with bar stools and booths available. There was seating upstairs and in the outdoor area too. The bartenders were pleasant and interactive, and they appeared genuinely excited to make those fantastic drinks! I particularly enjoyed the refreshing "caught in the rain" cocktail. Given the location, parking is a genuine concern to have, but paid valet parking is available.

It's hard for me to describe how much I love this place, especially since they brought back the beat the clock happy hour - the best happy hour in Houston in my opinion! What this means is: starting at 4pm (yes, 4pm), mixology cocktails are $4, 5pm - $5, and so on until 8pm when the prices revert back to regular pricing ($9-11, still great for mixology). EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK! Need I say more? This is a steal! There are also daily drink specials Monday-Thursday and Sunday (i.e. $6 martini Thursdays!). And a $5 Old Fashioned daily deal from 4-8pm as well. Unbelievable! The cocktails themselves are oh-so-tasty, unique, well balanced, and have fun quirky names. My personal favorites are the tequila-based El Guapo and Tequila Mockingbird, and the gin-based Daddy Issues. My fiancé loves the mezcal-based Smokey the Bear. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the cocktails. There are gin, bourbon, scotch, rum-based options as well! Of note, the cocktail options vary on occasion, although I'm not sure how often they switch some out for new ones - so just an FYI if you don't see your fav cocktail the next time you visit. They do serve wine, bubbles, and beer too! There are several bar snack options (don't come expecting a full meal): spicy mixed nuts, bacon bourbon caramel corn, and a GIANT pretzel + mustard cheese. The pretzel is a tasty, generous portion that can easily feed two. Haven't had the others. I've been on various nights of the week and have never had an issue with finding a spot to sit - booth, high-top table, and bar seating options. My friends and I usually bring a board game to play while we enjoy our drinks - super chill! Parking: neighborhood street parking - never had an issue but I don't mind walking a tad. Have to give a shout out to Shane & John - personal favorite bartenders there - awesome conversationalists, swift & tasty drink making skills. The other bartenders are also great! Website - major props on this design! So interactive - you can click through each menu item and see the details + a beautiful photo of the item! This place is a Montrose gem - check it out! :)

Love this place for craft cocktails. They have something for everyone. Even if you've never had a craft cocktail or don't know how to order. Bartenders are easy to talk to.

Great happy hour. Yes they may not have a crazy long menu of cocktails but the ones that they do have are amazing. I'll have to come back to try the punch

Really great decor. The service was great and the bartender was very friendly. And the drinks were really good and unique. They also have a large selection of Texas craft beers on tap. The website says happy hour goes to 7, but really it's 8.

My wife and I got to get out of the ‘burbs, and away from the kiddos, for a date night last night... after dinner we wanted to find a good cocktail spot and via google maps Stone’s Throw looked like a pretty good option. Their menu had a great selection of cocktails and wine. Being the “old folks” we are we got to the bar at about 9pm and it was relatively quiet so we easily found a spot at the bar. My wife ordered a cocktail from the menu and I ordered a Perfect Manhattan (my test to see if a bartender knows anything about classic cocktails or if I need to stick to their menu) Our bartender, Jon, knew exactly what I was asking for and even made sure to ask my preference on rye! This lead to an incredible night of conversation and introductions into new (old) cocktails and spirits. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening! Thanks so much Jon for an incredible experience... we can’t wait to come back!

Hip, young millennial crowd seems to be the main demographic here (reviewer excluded). Solid local brews on tap and really relaxed atmosphere made it a good place to catch up with friends. They have a full bar, too. The night we went there were some gals promoting an infused vodka, so free drink tasters are always welcome, too!
