Great restaurant during a one night visit to Gananoque. My friend and I received a warm and inviting welcome from the waitress. My friend and I were the only Black people in the restaurant, but we felt quite comfortable and relaxed. Service was very quick! The food was so tasty! We went on a Thursday night after 9pm and it was open mic, so there were a variety of folks playing a guitar and singing. It was lovely. I highly recommend the BBQ chicken wings; they were perfectly cooked and delicious.

Very cozy and comforting place. Feels like you are visiting friends or family rather than staying at a pub. Fresh food made from local products and nice craft drinks. Friendly and patient servers.

The food was delicious. This was unfortunately overshadowed by waitress staff who did not check on us during the meal, did not refill drinks, and essentially acted like we didn't exist after we ordered. If only the service was as good as the food, this review would be 5 stars.

Best draft beer selection in Gan, great service, great atmosphere, great place to hang out for awhile. My rating would likely be five stars if we tried the food (had already eaten), which I’m told is excellent. Next time.

We wanted a nice meal by the water, as we had a long drive ahead of us. We stopped at Stonewater Pub, and it was totally worth it. The fish and chips were on point and the salad made it refreshing. The cheesecake was the best way to top of a great meal. The service is great and it’s affordable! Would highly recommend.

Great location right by the water and close to the Thousand Islands Playhouse, with very chill and homey vibes. Not a whole lot of vegetarian options, but the food was decent, service was friendly and the beer was great.

⭐Excellent! ⭐We had the Portobello Burger and the Grilled Chicken Club. The chicken was nice and tender AND that Rosemary Parmesan Aioli was so DELICIOUS. What a game changer! People around us had the Tacos, Chicken & Chips, and the Chicken & Waffles. It ALL looked so good! ⭐From the moment we were sat, we were well taken care of by many staff members. ⭐It was a hot summer day and our server checked on us many times and filled our waters without being prompted. ⭐Comfortable, covered and screened in patio with a beautiful view of the water.

We stopped in here on a Friday night in December, and I am so glad we did. The service was exceptional and the food was amazing. The Christmas decor is stunning too. I got the fish and chips which was huge portion, and the breading was perfection. My friend got the whiskey burger and was equally as impressed. The layout is a little fragmented with the pub in the basement, and an eating space on the upstairs sunroom, but this doesn't impact the service, what a cool vibe! You won't regret checking this place out!

First of all the staff are fantastic specifically Cady and Taylor. the food is amazing I got chicken and waffles but there known for there fish and chips which is also delicious I love this place!

Nice cozy basement spot for a drink though rather pricey $10 for a draft beer. Food looked good but again prices were out of sight for pub fare. Maybe it's like that in Canada....

Nice place with live music when we went, service was pretty good for being so busy. The ribs were absolutely amazing, better than a lot of BBQ places I've had.

We stopped by here for lunch after our cruise nearby. It was walking distance from the dock and we figured we give it a try. I ordered the grilled chicken club with poutine. I only recall trying poutine when I was younger so I figured I'd give it another try. They have Poutine as a whole order, but I was glad to see that they have it as a side option. The food entries comes with a side of your choice (fries, house salad, sweet potato fries (+$2.99) , caesar salad (+$3.50), or poutine (+$3.50)). The portions of the food were huge, so you definitely get your bang for your buck here. Each dish was neatly placed and was so good! The bread from the club was crunchy yet soft and the chicken was moist. The ingredient felt very fresh! The poutine was a tad salty, but I think that is how poutine is? Since it's gravy and cheese (two salty ingredients). It was just the perfect amount to share with the family since we all just wanted a little bit to refresh our taste buds. My family also ordered the Chipotle Chicken Caesar Wrap with the house salad ($19.99); Fish and Chips ($19.99), and Grilled Chicken Club with the house salad ($19.99). The chipotle chicken caesar wrap was HUGE. My mom said it was very good and that it wasn't too overpowered with all the flavors and sauces. I was able to try a bite of her house salad and was also impressed by the fresh ingredients of the salad. You can tell it is a good salad when the salt actually crunches and does not just wilt there. The Fish and Chips were pretty good according to my brother in law. Crispy, not totally too greasy and a large piece on top. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here in this small town. It had a cosy interior with very nice staff. FYI, the menu is located solely online! Reception could be a little spotty, so they have wifi for you in case you need it! Great food and cold beer! Can't get any better than that! We had an awesome Burger and Fish & Chips. Try it...you won't regret it!

Arrived at 9:45 pm on a Saturday, with our 9 year old, so they couldn't seat us, as it was bar hours. The host offered us appetizers and fish and chips and invited us to sit at the outside tables. Our family enjoyed our Irish Nachos and Fish and Chips (and a couple of beers for us grown ups). Very tasty. Extra points for accommodating us. For the record, the bar looked friendly, the music was fine and and atmosphere great.

This place is amazing, recommend any thing on the menu! Service was great! Dill pickles as an appetizer top notch.

Gananoque is a great small city. So much better than Port Hope (sorry?). But not a contest.... Stonewater has great menu and drinks.

Really great food and service! Will definitely come back again. Loved the Shrimp Brioche and the Crispy Cauliflower bites! Service was friendly, attentive and professional. Cozy chill vibes in there too!

Everything ls delicious, tasty fries, nice chicken and waffles, but skip the burgers, dry and overcooked. Waiters are very nice, attentive and friendly.

Earlier in the week you were striking out almost every time you went out to eat while visiting Niagara Falls but in Gananoque you've been having a much better time and it's your last night so you go with a local's recommendation for Stonewater Pub. Let's try to forget about all the houseflies that were bombarding you throughout the meal and concentrate on this amazing food. I've been a proud member of the 'Clean Plate Club' my entire life but I had to cry 'Uncle' because their Bangers & Mash platter was just too much. Unbelievably delicious with a nice mix of zing and heat with the sweetness of the apples and creamy mashed potatoes but my stomach was filled to capacity. Before leaving Canada we had to try their national dish of poutine and while Wikipedia tells me the dish originated in the 1950's I know this dish much better as 'Disco Fries' and that's been since at least the 1980's. (Although this might be the first time I had them while sober and not at 3 in the morning at some New Jersey diner.) Stonewater makes their own beer which was decent and definitely 'session-able' but probably not something that needs to be bottled and imported. Super cool waitress and a real "U.K." feel to the place - I was ready to start some soccer chants and get the hooligans riled up (but looked around only to find families eating and enjoying themselves). Definitely recommended.

Good food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Great combo for a nice dinner with my folks and me. We shared the mini pierogi appetizer, the chicken and waffles as well as the portobello burger. Perfect portions for 3 adults! Everything was delicious and the server was very kind. Would happily return. Thanks

If I could give this place a 3.5, I would -- here's why. The wait time .... wow, we got our drinks in 5 minutes of our seating and received our food about 45 -55 mins later. I can't argue that the food was delicious, but after a VERY long wait without any explanation, GOOD food sometimes gets overlooked. Our waitress was also very nice hence ... bumping up to 4 rather than dropping down to 3. So if you have an hour to kill, definitely it!

My wife and I were on our way home to Napanee from Ottawa. We wanted lunch and got off at Gananoque where we found the Stonewater Pub. Glad we did. I had their meatloaf. Delicious. Good portion. Washed it down with a Steamwhistle. My wife had the fish and chips. She loved it. The cod was done right with a crispy coating but not too much. The staff was very busy because a nearby restaurant was closed for some reason. Our waitress was so friendly even though she was obviously busy. Definitely will go back again.

We were down August 25th for the 2 year Wedding anniversary and had the Stonewater Pub highly recommended by a friend who is local. We ordered the Meatloaf and the Vegetarian burger and for want of a better word, the food was 'sad'. It had the potential to be good but that night the chefs were lacking. Service on the other hand was happy, helpful and attentive.

This place is great! Super friendly staff and amazing food. Highly recommend the chicken club and fries! Great views of the river as well

This pub is absolutely adorable! If you are in the Gananoque area this is a must visit. We dine quite frequently and have never been disappointed. The service of their staff is exceptional and they go above and beyond to show how much they value their customers. I highly suggest the sweet potato fries and possibly the BEST deep fries pickles we have ever had.

Went last night for the wing special. There were four of us. The wings were way overcooked and the thai sauce was hot hot hot. Our server was Tikvah and she was very rude. That's my last visit there.

Food was really good. Nice atmosphere when seated in the pub itself, a little less when seated above. Live music when we were there. All in all definitely recommended.

VERY good food. Our family of 4 ate here on a sunny Monday this summer. Everyone loved each of the plates and we shared them around. Stew was fantastic, I had the Irish tenderloin which should be shared by two with a side salad. We will absolutely drive in from the 401 on our way to Ottawa. Great value, good service, lovely location. Can't go wrong.

Absolutely loved this place. Loved the atmosphere and the service was great. Food was delicious. I had the Dubliners Nachos and was worried I would still be hungry . Nope just the right amount to fill you up. My wife had the shrimp special which was 4 jumbo shrimp and a basket of fries. It also was delicious. I may have sampled some of hers as well. Thinking we may revisit for lunch tomorrow on our way out of town .

Stumbled on this place while strolling around Gananoque. Don't let the old place feel intimidate you.. it is a great place! Great food, great service, great prices. Had some aswome fish and chips, cesar salad and my husband really liked the Macho Hamburger with the onion ring inside. Very recommended.

Came for a late night snack and some drinks, and were treated to a great time. One very business bartender did a great job keeping us and everyone happy, and there was a singer playing guitar most of the evening, who was pretty good. Didn't see the "full" menu, but the night menu had great poutine, shrimp, and chicken fingers (which were not, by the looks of it, shitty frozen ones).

We did not get the whole experience as we did take out for our meal. I had the chicken club sandwich with sweet potato fries which I found had too much bread for my liking and not enough chicken. My partner had fish and chips which he found to be good but not enough fish. Overall, our experience with this restaurant was good. Hoping to be able to visit again soon in person.

Ordered the chicken wings and they were bland and served with no veggies. We also order the fish and chips and it was undercooked and bland. Service was ok. She didn't know the menu. Not recomend.

Slow inattentive service the food was either under seasoned or over seasoned *RED THAI CURRY IS TOO SPICY TO ENJOY STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN NOT STOMACH THE SPICE* the east coast wrap was delicious ! But it gets a two star based on everything else! The cocktail menus was only a list of single malt scotches no mixed drinks on the cocktail menu ...........

Excellent food. Great beer selection. Seating options were mostly uncomfortable. We chose to sit at the bar for dinner, and neither of us could eat "normally". The seats were too low for the height of the bar. Our server/bartender was excellent, which helped make the night enjoyable.

We came here for an early dinner after arriving in Gananoque from Toronto. We were starving and happy to see that there were many open seats. First of all this is a primo spot to dine, if you get the right table it overlooks the water and you have the ability to sit on a screened in porch which is gorgeous. It's like sitting outside because you get the warm and breeze but no bugs in your food, A+ there! We couldn't decide on what to pick because everything looks delicious. We decided to split a bunch of food, the perogy poutine, the watermelon feta salad, the potato nachos and the chicken fingers. Everything was excellnet, but a special shout out goes to the dublined nachos. Super thin nachos with sauteed onions, bacon, sour cream, cheese...awful for you but so delicious. The perogy poutine had mini perogies, with HUGE cheese curds and a nice tasty beef gravy, the chicken fingers were panko crusted and the size of my forearm. The watermelon salad was a perfect summer dish and compliments all the heavy cheese based things we had ordered :|. I had a Cesar, my mom a glass of wine, our bill came to about $80. Not bad at all! The service was well paced and pleasant. If we are back in this area I would definitely come back for some more good eats.

Chef Dave is a wonder! Delicious and fresh food, seasonal dishes and great pub fare. Always different drinks on tap and servers who are well versed in their offerings. Great ambiance in a quaint little pub SO authentic.

If I could give it 6 Stars, I would! Wife and I had the meatloaf and beef stew. They were were fantabulous. They also have a selection of craft beers. Had one, and was very happy with it. It is a quaint and cozy place with very friendly staff. So, I suggest you get there early, and enjoy. You won't regret it!

Excellent food. We got the spinach dip to start with, might have been the best spinach dip I've ever had. I had the Irish meatloaf and my wife had the fish and chips and both were very good and portions were perfect. Definitely will be back.

Great food and beer. Service during peak hours can be slow. Rooms are awesome in the B&B with a superb breakfast.

Food was very good and the B&B it's connected with is great. We stayed in the loft room at the B&B and had breakfast in the pub every morning and dinner there as well. Wonderful experience, great packages available. Will return.

A great little gem! My husband, two young kids and I were traveling though town on our summer road trip and decided to try this restaurant based off of yelp reviews. My 3yr old had the BLT soup of the day (I may have stollen a few bites haha), my 18m old had the chicken strips, husband had perogy poutine, and I had the farmer's field salad. I was super impressed with the salad. It was delicious, light and flavourful. I also appreciated that the kids supper was served first, without us asking. Fast and friendly service! I would definitely come back next time we visit Gananoque.

A pub like it should be, old building, creaky floors, wood and stone interior , i had the house burger, it was great. But the service was even better, there were 2 waitresses working very hard to look after everyone, and they did. Well plated and well served. Thx

Lovely pub. Four of us enjoyed our meal before attending the Gananoque Playhouse. The citrus squash soup was excellent. We selected the Irish meat loaf, Quiche, Curry chicken pita, and the Islander geek salad. We enjoyed a pitcher of locally brewed Naughty Otter beer. Our waitress was very attentive even as the restaurant filled up. Parking is available on adjacent streets. Bar dining area is on the entry level, main dining is up stairs. We definitely recommend this for a great night out.

Very generous potions and prices more than reasonable. Pub atmosphere. Lovely and helpful waitress. but we did not care for our food selections. We should have stayed basic. We all found our food to be over seasoned. Just a little too creative. Note to chef... step away from the spice rack.
