This was an interesting place to grab lunch. It's in Kerr Village, in Oakville. We stopped in on our way to the airport. We arrived just before lunch and service was pretty quick. By the time we were done eating, the place was packed - even though the street outside was shut down due to a water main break. You order, and they bring the food to you. Seating was a bit congested. And tight. I ordered the blackened Atlantic salmon, and my wife had the Calabrese pizza. The salmon surprised me. It was sweet and savory at the same time - definitely different from how I have typically had salmon. It was a good sized portion. I enjoyed it. From the small bite I had of my wife's pizza, it was tasty. A thin, crispy crust with good toppings.

The food is very tasty and ingredients are super fresh. Loved the sandwiches and the pasta and salads. Everything was delicious. Service I’d good. The restaurant has a basic decor.

Pulled Pork Sandwich is the best we’ve had so far! The ciabatta is surprisingly soft and the pulled pork is so creamy and tender. The Jambalaya Linguine is amazing as well! Very generous on the shrimp, chicken and chorizo toppings. Servings are huge. Loved the ambiance and decor– very cozy and relaxing. We’ll definitely go back!

Loved visiting Stoney’s Bread Company with family! We got the Grilled Sandwich and the Margherita Pizza. They have a cozy interior and quick service. The prices are quite expensive though, as one Grilled Vegetable Sandwich is $19.99. Overall, loved the food, atmosphere, and service. Definitely will be visiting again!

We went to Stoney’s for the dinner. You have to order at the counter yourself. But they themselves serve the food at your table. We ordered: 1. Slow Roasted Lamb sandwich: 4/5 - Good 2. Grilled Vegetables sandwich: 5/5 - Must have for vegetarians 3. Pecan Square Bar: 5/5 4. Nanaimo Bar: 3/5 Overall, both the sandwiches were excellent. The portion sizes are good. It’s so huge that I probably should have asked them to cut it in halves upfront. The service staff is friendly. I would totally recommend this place to everyone.

Google
The place was not crowded -as you can see in the picture - and yet I had to wait for 20 minutes for my food. Also, I didn't order anything a la carte, just a sandwich so there was no reason to take that long. Considering that they charge you for the tip before being served -which of course I blindly gave-, this is not what you expect. The food was ok, the prices were average in the zone. Not impressed.

Mouth watering food.. great ambiance. Must try place.. loved the roasted lamb sandwich n the light steam whistle beer tasted great.

Google
Food is incredibly delicious and highly recommended. We ordered shrimp and scallop pasta, which was excellent. This is our second visit, and we hope to try other items on the menu next time.

Yelp
Excellent service. Food is fantastic and great attention to good quality. Incredible atmosphere and not pretentious. Staff work and are attention driven at giving great customer service

Yelp
This is one the popular brunch spots in Oakville and it can get very busy at times, specially during the weekends. We arrived around 11am on a long weekend and they had plenty of tables available, but by the time we were leaving, all the tables were full. You need to order your food first and get seated after. They bring your order to you, but if you need a coffee refill, or milk and cream, you need to pick them up yourself at the station. Coffee refill was a challenge for us, since we had to go through all other tables and wait for the staff to refill our coffee, and even there were times they were out of milk and had to drink our coffee black. We ordered "Key West Eggs", "Crepe au Fraises", "Slow Roasted Lamb" and "Canadian Peameal Back Bacon". Our food was delicious and we would love to go back and try more of their menu items. Just expecting delays for our coffee this time. Lol

Yelp
We have been visiting the place for many years now. Ofcourse because of food and tip free option. We have tried their sunday spl brunch- one of the best waffles with the freshest fruits. Lunches - best sandwiches and soups. Desserts are pretty good too. The seating is beautiful with a little retro vibes and you still get served water and food on the table. For summers their patio is pretty romantic. I found this place intimate and good for dates! And good on pocket. The portions are good.

Yelp
I'm a regular at Stoney's and I've converted many people into fans. The food is amazing. They clearly use fresh ingredients and their dishes are clearly prepared with care. Not only do they make the best sandwiches in the GTA, they also make good pizza, soups, pasta dishes, and they put on a great brunch.

Yelp
Food was fabulous! My eggs were poached perfectly and the pea bacon was cooked just right. The tomato tapenade gave a bit of acidity which was a nice balance to the creamy rich hollandaise. My husband said his frittata was delicious and since he spoke very little, that confirmed it was! The side salad was lightly dressed which brought a brute mess to the plate. Not a big fan of the coffee. It was a little more butte than I normally like. But that's just my personal taste.

Yelp
We went on a weekday so it was not as busy as it gets on the weekend - tried to go on the weekend once in the past and ended up leaving due to how busy it was and that you couldn't get a table. The food was good and VERY filling. Myself and my mom got a soup to start and the pizza we split and it was the perfect amount of food. Just be mindful that this is a popular spot so be expected to wait.

Yelp
Delicious lunch stop. Get the chowder, sit and take your time. The tuna salad sandwich was very good and satisfying.Ambiance is great, it's busy but you can take your time.

Yelp
Visited this past summer with my hubby and daughter. We ordered at the counter then sat at a table to wait for our meals. Wished they had a kids menu as well as we ended up ordering a full sized cheese pizza for our child (which was of course way too much food). It was fairly busy when we visited and it took quite a while for our food to arrive. The salad I ordered was huge but some parts didn't seem the most fresh (wilty lettuce). The cheese pizza was also a bit disappointing but hubby said he enjoyed his chicken sandwich. Perhaps it was an off day as I know many folks are regulars here. The food and overall experience were just ok, not a place I'd rush back to try.

Yelp
Waited 25 minutes for soup to be served, tasteless . Given complimentary coffee due to long wait, not fresh and cold . Do something about your seating . Hardly room to get into a seat as tables are too close together. If you put your elbows on the tables , they tip over .

Yelp
I found not one but TWO pieces of hair in my burger. I let the first one slide thinking it might've been mine but when I saw the second one I was sure. I brought it back to the cashier and he was super nice about and offered me a refund so absolutely no hate to him but THEN the head chef goes "Everyone's got hair on their head, don't know what to tell ya" and kept repeating that in front of me. Safe to say, not very hygienic and not very nice. Do not suggest.

Yelp
The sandwiches are great. The place is usually buzzing with people. Very popular lunch spot.

Yelp
Came here for brunch one morning and it did not disappoint!! The eggs florentine was wonderful. All the flavors were working well with one another and nothing overpowering. The meal was reasonably priced. I look forward to returning for a lunch.

Farid B.

Yelp
One of my best sandwiches is from this place! I've tried other meals and all are good and full with flavours. Make sure you have plenty of napkins because the sandwich is packed!
google avatar

Yelp
We saw this place the cable network and felt we had to try it! There is no patio, inside is a bit warm and stuffy even though we sat by the window. Our table was cleaned for us, the guy that brought our pizza also came back with plates and that was it! We weren't offered water, utensils or napkins! Fortunately, my partner brought kleenex! Will not be back..

Suzan Y.

Yelp
It's a great place for breakfast and for lunch. But be prepared your all clothes and hair will smell like a pizza oven. I guess they have no solution for this.
google avatar

Judy H.

Yelp
They have a patio area which is convenient for great weather and some tables inside due to the pandemic. I didn't realize it's less of a restaurant as one orders first and the food is brought to you. Pasta, salad, sandwiches and pizza were the main items to pick from. We both ordered pizza, mine without cheese which they let me sub it for sun-dried tomatoes. The pizza dough was not chewy but crispy so I didn't like it as much. They definitely put a lot of toppings which is nice. The washroom was small, but clean. I would go back to try their other dishes. Just don't order their pizza.

Jackie G.

Yelp
Everything. Food is always good. Had the daily sandwich special and it was so good I came back the next day!
google avatar

Raegan M.

Yelp
On a chilly overcast day, we got two bowls of warm, cozy soup. Chicken/mushroom and pear/squash plus a toasted ciabatta roll. The staff was so nice and gave us two extra bowls so my friend and I could split our soups and we each could try them. The flavors were so good and the roll was nice and light. I also ordered a nanaimo bar that we shared. My expat heart and stomach was happy and my American friend who had never had one before now wants the recipe.

Yelp
Good for self service delicious pizzas and soup and salads no reservation nice staff
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Food is always great. Lots to choose from too. My only irk is that I am not a fan of the cafeteria style of standing in line to order my entire order at once and pay. I'd rather get settled at a table to have a beer and review the menu, chat with my guests, then have the order taken.
google avatar

Noah D.

Yelp
Best food I've tasted in Oakville, with friendly staff and great service. I especially enjoy dining there with my friends, with the only downside being that the food is a little expensive.
google avatar

Tasha A.

Yelp
I've been here several times already and absolutely love their sandwiches! They're generous with the fillings, there are many variations & all the ingredients are top quality. Only thing I'd like is to have a couple of beef sandwiches on the menu - cuz sometimes you're just craving a roast beef or grilled steak variety & I'm SURE these guys would kill it! During COVID, their patio is open. It's spaced out and has very limited seating, but the street is lovely & has several benches around where you could take your food. Or you could drive down the street a little to the Marina & enjoy your meal there. Next time I visit here, I'm going to try a pizza - they look SO GOOD! And Sunday Brunch sounds amazing as well.

Mitch A.

Yelp
Food is tasty but overpriced and small portions. Weird self service system in place here.
google avatar

Emilia A.

Yelp
I tried this place when I was down in Stoney Creek the other week. They have a pleasant patio area and the food is brought to you quite fast. Their service is super efficient. I tried one of their soups and I also got a salad. The food was quite good but I do think it was just a little bland. Overall though I would want to try some other menu options another time! I would recommend this place, it's a nice place to visit for the friendly service and great prices.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely delicious as always. This spot never fails to impress me with its delicious food, warm and helpful servers, and overall positive and bright ambiance. I highly recommend their butternut squash and pumpkin soup (served with toasty focaccia bread). I usually go for the maple salmon salad or the chicken Cesar salad, but I tried their Salad of the day which had salmon cakes, arugula, roasted bell peppers, goat cheese, and avocado. It was absolutely delicious. Also served with fresh focaccia bread, the salad is so exceptionally fresh and well crafted, it was honestly a delight. The portion sizes are hearty and filling (I also require a to go box), and you really get a great value for the price. The place was following COVID recommendations, with limited capacity, hand sanitizers everywhere, and masked employees. I highly recommend this Oakville gem and will continue to visit and bring friends over for lunch and/or a light dinner. I've yet to try their pastas (served after 5 pm) because I'm so tempted by the salads, so hopefully that's what I'm getting next time. Overall 10/10 highly recommend!
google avatar

Tracy W.

Yelp
My husband and I were in town and looking for lunch... I stumbled on this GEM through the yelp app and thought we would give it a try!! This place did NOT disappoint!! The portions are HUGE! the atmosphere is great! We came on a Sunday at lunchtime and there was a line out the door but it moved quickly! The one downside if I had to mention anything would be not enough seating. Try this place! My husband and I both got the balsamic chicken sandwiches and subbed mozzarella cheese instead of goat! This sandwich is AMAZING! We also got the side salads which are so big we will split next time! Subbed for balsamic dressing! WOW WOW WOW! Cannot wait to come back here!! Would love to try breakfast and dinner!! The menus look amazing!! We will be back!!
google avatar

Jack D.

Yelp
Love the Salmon Salad! Also the chicken sandwich is also bomb! And from what I remember the desert was good!
google avatar

Lucy W.

Yelp
BEST caesar salad i have ever tasted. With shrimp and scallop is even better! Their soups are also pretty nice, but if youre a salad fan you WILL fall in love with their Tuscan caesar!
google avatar

Natacha S.

Yelp
Came here for a Sunday brunch with my friend. The portions are humongous and the service is phenomenal! Definitely need to bring an appetite. It might be confusing for first timer but you order upfront near the back of the place and they'll give you a number. Then you can find a seat and the server will bring you your order. I personally like the idea as you won't have to wait for the servers to bring you the bill/machine/etc and can just leave right after your meal.
google avatar

Aileen B.

Yelp
Wow! I challenge you to find a better sandwich. After ordering from an exceedingly cheery man at the register, we waited for a table. Thank you Stoney's for not seating people until they've ordered, or we wouldn't have been able to sit while eating. We grabbed a couple glasses of water from the self-serve pitchers on the counter, and not long after our sandwiches arrived. Not only do they look appetizing, the flavor is out of this world. My daughter ordered a balsamic chicken sandwich, and actually sighed with delight after the first bite. Moist chicken, generously topped with greens, roasted red peppers and more, drizzled with balsamic. Likewise, the grilled vegetable sandwich i ordered was bite after bite of deliciousness. Loaded with veggies, served on wonderful thick slices of grilled bread that might have been from Heaven. Bursting with flavor. Y u m !!! I should have asked what kind of balsamic they use, because I think I could drink it from the bottle. Slightly sweet, full-flavored goodness. We easily could have shared a sandwich, as they are large. But where would the fun be in that? Now we have dinner already prepared for tonight. And I foresee dinner being excellent this evening!

Yelp
Went there for a snack and ended up getting their croissants and danishes! Loved it, would get it again.

Yelp
Great location-Amazing food and Good service. This place has been reviewed and rated so high already and therefore it doesn't need vouching but I do feel like writing a review since this place has become my new summer FAV! Great tasting food. The salads are fresh and full of flavor. They are huge in size and absolutely shareable.Sandwiches are to die for, so far I have tried the lamb, the grilled chicken and salmon sandwich. All of them are assembled with lots of fresh ingredients and crunchy vegetables.Their outstanding breads make all the difference.Pizzas here are pretty standard and worth a try.My personal favorites are the sandwiches and salads here. So basically this place is a no tip restaurant you come here order your meal and get a number and look for a table. You eat with real cutlery and china and at the end leave the plates on the table and leave.Server come and serve you and it's OBVIOUSLY courteous to leave tip when leaving satisfied. The bathrooms and clean and there is plenty of paid parking across the restaurant and I have always managed to get a spot even at the busiest time. The servers are quick and friendly and they do have a small patio with 4/5 tables for outdoor seating. Overall when in Oakville this place is definitely worth a stop especially during summers when you crave light foods.

Great sandwiches, salads and great atmosphere. Nice area as well. Nice staff. Reasonable prices for good healthy food.

Yelp
I was extremely dissatisfied with this place. I actually was taking my niece out for lunch but our original choice ended up being closed. I had heard great things about Stoney's so we came here instead. I realize it is a bread company and had I ordered a sandwich, I probably would have been very happy (the sandwiches looked great). But being gluten-free was a bit of a challenge combined with my need for vegetarian and dairy free food. The guy at cash said I could get any of the sandwiches bread-Free as a salad. The only one suitable for me was the grilled veggies minus all the cheese. I opted for the daily soup (roasted red pepper) and the field green salad minus the cheese. My niece had the same salad with cheese. So over priced for what we got. My soup was a small bowl with a toast on the side (gluten). The soup was so sour that I had to use the bread to dilute the sourness....and now my tummy hurts The salad was a big bowl of mixed greens with a few grape tomato halves and lots of croutons! I put the croutons in my soup, ate a bit of the salad and wasted the bulk of it....I was not in the mood to eat a giant bowl of greens. My niece said her salad had too much dressing and a hunk of cheese in the centre. You order your food, pay/tip then sit down. That tip would have been quite different had we got our food before paying. What a let down

Yelp
Great food. Best grilled chicken sandwich I have ever had. From the States and I can't wait until my next visit to return.

Yelp
I loved everything about Stoney's Bread Company: the food, the ambiance, value, and the service. That's a win in my books and it certainly made my trip to Oakville extra worthwhile. When we entered we had to go over to the main counter and kitchen to order. There's a charm about the interior here. It's warm inside with all the natural lighting coming in and the wooden tables and chairs. There were a lot of choices foodwise to choose from: from pastas, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. There were daily specials too and we went with their daily special pizza and soup. Both arrived quickly and were super delicious and fresh. The fettuccine alfredo really impressed me. It was really rich, creamy, and cheesy. The pasta was perfectly aldente and had a ton of veggies which is my favourite. There was spinach, and sun dried tomato, and there were jumbo shrimp. It was a loaded pasta dish and the garlic toast was a nice addition. I mean, they're a 'bread company' for good reason! The pizza was also excellent. The dough was perfect and while it was thin crusted, held up all the hefty toppings, and had a nice chew to it. The toppings were all fresh: ham, artichokes, red peppers, chicken breast, red onion, and bacon. The tomato sauce had a nice sweetness. Overall, a great pizza, and can easily be shared. Portion sizes were excellent here. They really don't skimp out on anything and you definitely won't leave hungry! Other items such as the salads and sandwiches also look great from a quick eye-test. Service was extremely friendly, and everyone looked pleased to serve you, which came to my delight despite being a half service restaurant.

Yelp
We dropped by on our way to the airport from Niagara Falls and were pleased to find a selection of delicious pizzas, salads and sandwiches to whet our appetites for the plane ride home. It was conveniently located a short distance from the highway and about 20 minutes from the airport, so no complaints there. The place was bustling with small families, girlfriends chatting it up, and casual business lunches on the Tuesday we went. We tried the salmon quinoa salad, tuna salad sandwich, and the Regina pizza, and enjoyed a steam whistle beer, and oranciatta Italian sodas. Service was friendly, food arrived promptly, and we were fed and on time to return our rental car for our flight home. Thank you for a great meal!

Yesss good food, great servers, friendly service. Great pizza and breakfast is fab too

Yelp
I came to Oakville to visit family a mile from here. They told me to try this place out since they heard it was a good place. First off, don't trust family if they HEARD this place is good. Only go to places they have went to and can vouch for. I went here last week. And oh man.. it was just awful. I'm from Toronto. The home of great authentic food. This place had stale bread and their chicken was wayyy to crispy. I love crispy chicken. This was just old and over cooked. If I could give this place a minus one. I would. I'm not sure if it's staff or management. This place needs to re-teach their cooks how to cook. I'm not trying to be mean here, I just don't get how it was this bad. Can someone help them?

Yelp
Great place to hangout on a Thursday morning .... coz it's flooded with people on the weekend Went there with friends... tried their coffee (comes without sugar) ,teas, chicken bread with caramel i we onions n apples (it was at first bite!) and chocolate cake.. which was soso. Good ambiance..: fast service... economical prices. Have good indoor n outdoor space.

Yelp
I've been here a few times over the years and I have always loved the sandwiches here. The service is quick and friendly and quality is really good. My only issue this time is that since we ordered takeout, the sandwich was very messy, so it was hard to eat out of a takeout container. I'll be back again soon (hopefully eating inside on a plate).

Yelp
I wish I wish something like Stoney's Bread Company exist in Markham/Richmond Hill area! From now on all my sunday brunch will be rated based on what I ate at Stoney's, this is really hard to beat! The Egg Florentine (Poached eggs, baby spinach, tomato chutney, brie on grilled focaccia with hollandaise and field green) I ordered was so so so good.. Yes it brings tears in my eyes when I am eating that. The 1 hour drive really worth my while! Everything tasted so fresh and the tomato chutney has this sour, sweet and interesting complex taste and so Italian.. as I am great fan of Italian food! Though my breakfast comes to a total of $15 includes tips and taxes.. which is a lot more than my usual.. but I can feel there is no turning back... I might have to skip all my cheap $3 breakfast at HK style cafe from now on. I really want to try everything on the Sunday Menu!!! sigh... They only open from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Sunday. Next time if you are on the way to Niagara Falls for any reason.. (driving your oversea visitors to see the Falls, going to Outlet Mall, driving to Buffalo airport for your cheap flights) please come and try this place out and you see all these rave is about!

Yelp
Came back here with Vivek, Mel C. and other friends and shared 4 pizzas and 2 bowls of mussels... it's still soooooo yummy! Like I don't mean just mmmm omnomnom yummy. I mean "C is for Cookie" OMNOMNOMNOMNOM NOM NOm Nom yummy! One tip: Shrooms! The shroom pizza is clearly the general fave. 2nd tip: The dill(io) and tomato mussels were not as good as whatever the 3rd choice of which I can not remember at this time (garlic something something if I remember correctly). The previous two were only..meh. I've GOT to come back to sample the sandwiches that Vivek keeps talking about.
google avatar

Ally S.

Yelp
Pesto chicken pizza was good and sandwiches looked good as well but I don't get this place. The sandwiches and other entrees are $18 but there is no table service and they market themselves as a bread company but they don't make their own bread I saw bags of Ace Bakery breads that they use for sandwiches. Their salads looked basic and bland and uninventive. I do think their skill is they way they prepare their chicken. For the price you may as well go to a full service restaurant.

Michael S.

Yelp
Had a nice dinner with the family on Sat night. Busy but not too crowded. Wife and daughter really enjoyed the thin crust pizza.

Vicki L.

Yelp
Come hungry! Sandwiches are massive but super tasty! Have tried multiple menu items and the are all crave worthy!

Robert C.

Yelp
The food is consistently delicious, hot and ready quickly. Friendly staff is a bonus. One of our first go to's for takeout food. Combination of salad, pizza and pasta is a winner. Also love the blackened salmon.

Yelp
We were on our way back home to Toronto and came for Saturday brunch after seeing this resto on the list of "You Gotta Eat Here" spots in Burlington. What I wish I knew: it's self-serve quick service restaurant. Go to the back of the house; grab your own drinks/make your own coffee; wait for a minute to be told where you'll sit. They will bring your food to you but you will need to grab your own condiments and refills. The servings are large. Unless you're famished you will likely not finish your meal! My husband enjoyed his stoney sandwich. I was...meh! I liked the garlic aioli. I only ate half of my sandwich and took the reminder to go. It would've been nice to have a side salad with my sandwich. It as a massive egg sandwich. The balsamic and olive oil decorative design on my plate so I can spread over it my bread was nice too. The coffee tasted good. Again I had to take it in their to go container. I feel like the flow of the restaurant service would've been better. I read a yelper describe it like Marche....I guess....but not really!

Yelp
Stoney's is the best spot for sandwiches. Think bougie but classic all in one. The chicken balsamic sandwich is what I get each time I go, and I am never disappointed or wishing I ordered something else!
