This is a gem of a restaurant/bar that more people should know about. Live piano every night and a great atmosphere thanks to Alfonzo and Aldofo, who have been holding it down for decades! Go for a date night dinner or a martini - you won’t regret it.

Classic and classy joint in South Pas. My husband took me here and we shared the calamari. I had the gnocchi and it was excellent. When I came here I didn't feel like I was in 2025. It was a refreshing experience.

Stoney Point Bar & Grill is a hidden gem in the hills of Pasadena. Located just off the 134 Fwy., Stoney Point offers an Italian menu in a cozy traditional Italian setting. There is a main dining room which offers intimate dinners or a dining space next to the bar for a more casual, social setting. There is a piano in this dining space. The bar is fun and lively. Locals come and have a quick bite at the bar, and it did seem as if everyone knew everyone! Service is spot on! Guests are immediately greeted with a Brushetta toast and tomato. We enjoyed the Crab Cake appetizer, the Lobster Ravioli and a evening special plate of Halibut. The fish special we could not finish. Not fresh, and over cooked. Very much enjoyed the Crab Cakes. Wine and wine list needed to be reevaluated. I had the Sangiovese and then a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine did not seem as if it was stored at the proper temperature of 55 degrees. The glass was not a typical high end wine glass. I would probably bring my own bottle of wine next time or just have a cocktail instead. This was the only thing I was disappointed in. Wait staff were present and attentive to our table needs. Friendly and suggestive. He even took our picture at the table and again in the dining room. The waiter thanked me for coming in and for his gratuity. (I gave more than the typical 20% because he was so helpful). Parking is tight. There were three spaces clearly marked which I was able to snag one. I am not sure where other patrons parked? I saw two cars parallel to the side, but not in marked spaces. I would definitely go here again. Enjoyable and quaint.

Stoney Point Bar and Grill, Pasadena - A Hidden Italian Gem I've been to Stoney Point Bar and Grill in Pasadena multiple times now, and each visit has consistently delivered an excellent experience. After several impressive meals, it's finally time to write this review. This unassuming spot reliably delivers authentic Italian cuisine with careful attention to detail. Appetizers We started with the prosciutto and burrata appetizer, which was exceptional. The burrata was remarkably fresh - creamy on the inside with that perfect delicate outer layer. Paired with the paper-thin, quality prosciutto, it created that classic Italian starter that sets the tone for a great meal. Main Courses The eggplant parmesan demonstrated a level of care that's increasingly rare. They clearly took the time to properly prepare the eggplant by drawing out excess moisture before cooking - a crucial step that many restaurants skip. The result was perfectly textured eggplant without that waterlogged sogginess that ruins lesser versions of this dish. The spaghetti and meatballs hit all the right notes for this comfort food classic. The pasta was cooked to proper al dente, and the meatballs were flavorful and tender. Perhaps the standout was their spaghetti checca - featuring bright, vibrant tomato flavors that tasted garden-fresh. My only minor critique would be that they could have been slightly more generous with the basil and garlic to elevate it further, but the dish still impressed with its clean, bright flavors. Dessert We finished with their tiramisu, which was very good - not too sweet, with distinct layers of flavor and that perfect balance of coffee and mascarpone. Service The service at Stoney Point deserves special mention. The staff strikes that perfect balance - attentive without hovering. They're available when needed for questions or assistance, but they give you space to enjoy your meal and conversation. This type of thoughtful service enhances the dining experience significantly. Bottom Line Stoney Point Bar and Grill demonstrates a consistent attention to traditional Italian cooking techniques that puts them above many competitors. What's most impressive is their reliability - they deliver quality dishes time after time. From properly preparing eggplant to sourcing fresh, quality ingredients like their exceptional burrata, they're clearly committed to doing things the right way. While there's always room for small improvements (a bit more basil and garlic in that checca!), this is genuinely good Italian food served in a comfortable atmosphere. The fact that I've returned multiple times speaks volumes - this restaurant has earned its place as a go-to Italian spot in Pasadena's dining scene.

Google
After many years of looking at the restaurant as we passed it on the 134, my husband invited friends, and we went to experience Stoney Point. What a pleasant surprise to receive both gracious and experienced service as well as inventive and delightful cuisine. We had crab cakes, San Rafael salad, pork chops, lemon chicken, and spaghetti with sausage. All of the choices were delicious. The salad had a brandy vinaigrette that I will now try making at home. Excellent. We will be back.

Google
OLD SCHOOL Italian restaurant. Music at the right level. Excellent Lobster Ravioli and fantastic swordfish with lemon caper sauce. Tiramisu and Creme Brulee were delicious. Only complaint, champagne list could have been a bit more extensive.

Angela B.

Yelp
We stopped into Stoney Point at 5pm when they open. The staff was ready to greet us and provide excellent service. There was live piano music and a warm atmosphere. We had some appetizers and shared a pasta. Highly recommend this gem.

Yelp
I've been an irregular at Stoney Point for quite a few years now. Bartender Kelly is like a best friend, the staff feels like family, and the patrons are like friendly neighbors. I always have a great time whether I'm having dinner or just a drink. Live piano music Thursday thru Sunday enlivens the atmosphere. The food is always excellent. While I'm happy to have the Beef Carpaccio, Cioppino, Lamb Chops, or a pasta dish any time, I always find out the specials and often go with one of those. The latest was a Seafood Risotto which was possibly the best risotto I've ever had. Huge chunks of salmon, plenty of mussels and clams, large shrimp, scallops, calamari, all perfectly tender. Stoney Point never disappoints so I will continue toirregularly go there.

Yelp
Wonderful little hole in the wall Italian restaurant! Really cozy interior with a full bar and piano tucked away in a corner. Really friendly service! Small parking lot in the back of the restaurant. I ordered the spaghetti and Italian sausage which came with cherry tomatoes and broccolini. Really tasty and what I appreciate was that they didn't skimp on portions like a lot of new trendy Italian restaurants tend to do. We also got some type of toasted baguette slices with tomatoes on top for free which was DELICIOUS. I ordered a cosmopolitan from the bar which was yummy as well. Our water was.constantly being filled and servers were very attentive and funny. We had a wonderful time!

Michael M.

Yelp
This was our first, and definitely not our last, visit to this great restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. What we really loved was this is a real, old time establishment. The staff have been there for many years. Mike M. - Pasadena

Yelp
We have been going to Stoney Point and recommending it to dozens of people for almost twenty years. Kelly the bartender ranks among the top mixologist in the Pasadena area. Her drinks area consistently second to none. The food is consistently top notch and with ingredients chosen from a chef who knows what the dish calls for. This place is our first recommendation for out of towners and visitors seeking to go where the locals go.

Yelp
What an adorable date spot! The food was excellent but what truly stood out was the service. You really don't find this type of fine dining these days. We've had the same gentleman each time & he's what I'd call a "professional server" like you USED to get at upscale steak houses. The prices are much better than you'd expect for this level of quality. I had the osso bucco which was as good as it gets. My mom had the pasta a la vongole (?) & my husband had the eggplant parm the 1st time we went, this time he tried the penne Arabiata. I even took pics bc the presentation was so beautiful. Fantastic drinks & dessert, too. Be sure to check out this hidden gem, I wish I'd come here years ago!

Yelp
Delicious foods, especially the medium well ribeye steak, dessert, cappuccino. Excellent, purposeful service by all the staff & servers. Thank you so much for a great dinner experience. Relaxing ambiance. God bless!

Yelp
The food was delicious and all served very timely. The servers were all very kind and helpful and attentive. The dining room was very dimly lit and relaxing. We very much enjoyed our first visit here and plan to be back.

Yelp
I love Stoney Point. Marvelous! In fact, I hope to go there tonight! Food, service, ambiance... all wonderful.

Yelp
We lived near this place for 17 years and passed it up. It wasn't until we were moving out of state that I finally insisted we try it out. Man that was the best dinner ever! Highly recommend! The food is so fresh and the pasta so light! Enjoy a special night out or treat yourself!:)

Yelp
I almost always eat out on the patio, because it's dog-friendly! The waiters are all fabulous and attentive. Everything on the menu is amazing...appetizers, entrees, desserts. One of my favorite things is the Sand Dabs. If you dine inside there is a piano player. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This has been a family favorite for decades. Family-owned and operated. Everything feels homemade and they're very consistent in quality. Came for a family member's birthday recently as-is tradition and it was delicious and wonderful as always. I don't think their desserts are homemade but still fairly good. It's the actual food you go for! I love the overall feel and ambience of the place. The service is not only great but friendly, warm and fully on top of everything. This places hold a special compartment in my heart. I hope more people frequent and support it!

Yelp
Food, service, the dark ambiance, and price were all good. Would definitely come back again. They provided bruschetta as service to begin and it was yummy!

Mark N.

Yelp
Another Nice Date Spot .. Has a Pianist and maybe A Jazz Band (Not Sure..) seems like it would to lighten up the mood .. Food Is Well Prepared.. your typical Italian like Steak n Seafood spot ..

Amanda N.

Yelp
The service is delightful, menu is traditional, and on Friday nights after 6:30pm someone is playing the piano!

Yelp
Excellent food! I love this restaurant! I love everything about it! When I visit my mother, this is where I asked to go. The food is delicious, the service is superb, and it's very cozy. We'll plan another visit to California in September and I will plan a visit here again as well. This last visit, I had the eggplant Parmesan. Delicious! Another one of my favorites is the bruschetta. This time I had the Dungeness crabcakes however the next time I will have the French onion soup and Caesar salad with my entrée.

Yelp
The food was amazing and great highly recommend the sausage pasta. The service was great and quick all the waiters were very nice. The ambiance was beautiful reminded me of my trip to Italy . The soap in the bathroom smelled great the bathrooms were clean. 10/10 must go again!

Yelp
Hadn't been in a while and glad I went back. The carpaccio was tasty (although I should've asked for olive oil & lemon) and fresh, and the rest of our meal was just fine. Wine list is ok and pours by the glass are generous. Service is attentive and courteous. Glad they got it together!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance, service, and the best food ever! Great Chicken Parmigiana and Fettuccine with homemade meatball!
google avatar

Rudiger S.

Yelp
This is an old school Italian restaurant that serves all of your favorite foods including lasagna and some of the best bolognese you'll ever have. Service is excellent and ambience makes you feel like your home. The bartender will whip you up your favorite cocktail. All this at a fair price.

Mike J.

Yelp
The service was very friendly. The food was ok. The ambiance with the piano is pretty good.

Yelp
I've been here several times since my last review and each time has been delightful. The food is delicious, the drinks are tasty, and the service is fantastic. I absolutely love the complimentary bruschetta that is brought to the table once you are seated. The tomatoes are fresh, and it contains the right amount of garlic. It's addicting. The Frito Misto is one of my favorite appetizers. It consists of big, thick batter fried shrimp and tender rings of calamari served with basil aioli and marinara, both of which were molto bene. This evening I tried the Spaghetti Vongole - fresh Manila clams sautéed with a white wine & garlic sauce. I asked if they could make it spicy. The pasta was al dente, the clams were fresh & juicy, and the sauce was delizioso with a hint of spicy. Mom had the Spaghetti & Italian Sausage with broccoletti & cherry tomatoes. She loved it and also loved her complimentary birthday tiramisu. Bravissimo to everyone at Stoney Point. Our dining experience was fantastico! If you're craving good, authentic Italian food then Stoney Point is your place.

Yelp
Stoney Point is my favorite restaurant for so many reasons. The menu always has something I'd like including beef carpaccio as a starter and great specials and the service is friendly and attentive. The bar makes great drinks and there is a piano player almost every night. The atmosphere is warm and makes it seem like it's everyone's neighborhood place, which for many of us it is. It is a splurge but the prices are equal to the food quality.

Yelp
A M A Z I N G!!! This is the true definition of a hidden gem with both Food and Service being the best I've ever experienced. We have discovered that this is the THE restaurant that no matter what you try it just becomes your new favorite dish, this is our 4th time here and the experience is as spectacular as the first. The ambience is just as remarkable as everything else, they offer outside seating, separate area for private gatherings, live piano music on weekends and a bar. Quiet and very romantic atmosphere for date night but also super chill for family dinners. It was our first time bringing the kids and they absolutely loved it as well!! Our new family favorite for sure, the drive from Glendora is always worth it!

John A.

Yelp
Decent Italian fare at indecent prices. Simple, straightforward pastas with conventional ingredients run $28 - $33 each. A burrata appetizer plate ran $25. The halibut special was $44.00. Desserts were $13 each. We were charged a $25 corkage fee for a bottle that cost less than that to buy. In short, there was nothing exceptional or memorable here but for the prices. Dining for 4 people cost $264.60. For this price, I expected much better quality.

Yelp
I was walking on this street at around 12pm one day in 2019 and the door was open and I walked in. The owner in his golden years greeted me and the 2 Brothers working there served me, and it was one of the most memorable moments that I recall in Pasadena. What a Class Act, this is a long overdue review. I had the capressee salad and some wine and a great conversation with these gentleman. Thank you for the memories!!
google avatar

Vivian K.

Yelp
What a *perfect* evening celebrating our mon-aversary!! The ambience is old school class, but not the least bit dusty and musty. You walk in and are transported to a time when restaurants had perfectly dim lighting, smiling bow-tied waiters, and live piano music playing romantic songs of yesteryear. Food was perfect -- caesar and french onion soup to start... lobster ravioli and a sausage pasta dish. Portions were generous, food was so tasty and rich in the best way possible -- not gooey and heavy. Our server Adolfo was the absolute sweetest -- ending all his checkins with a "yeee haww"!!!

Yelp
Spectacular food, ambiance, and staff. Such an iconic restaurant tucked away in a nook just beyond the Pasadena bridge. Although it's often difficult to hear members at your table at times, lean in as you'll be entertained with spectacular pianist nestled in the back of the restaurant, which will be close being a tiny intimate restaurant. We were greeted with complimentary bruschetta chocked with fresh tomatoes and garlic - scrumptious! Everyone gets a fresh roll with exactly one square of butter, also super tasty! Both hubby and I had our own - not a time to share- Caprese salad, fresh mozzarella slices, tomatoes, fresh Basil leaves with delicious olive oil and vinegar..... so good! My scaloppini lemon chicken with capers and light creamy gravy was cooked to perfection and oh so tasty; comes with dollop of mashed potatoes, freshly steamed green beans and carrots with light butter - still crunchy and wonderful! Had such a splendid time with hubby's and my dear friends, who also loved their dishes. Worth every penny and we can't wait to return!

Yelp
I've lived in Pasadena most of my life and have never visited Stoney Point. Recently a friend told me that they have eggplant Parmesan once a week as a special which is my favorite dish. It was my birthday so I decided to call and see if they had eggplant on the menu that day and to my delight, they did. I went for dinner and it was delicious. The server was attentive and the restaurant is cozy. Everyone enjoyed their food. The cherry on top was their tiramisu. It was one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend Stoney Point!

Laura A.

Yelp
This small intimate restaurant is the absolute best! They are so welcoming and the entire staff from the hostess to the busboys treat you like royalty. The food is absolutely amazing and I've never had a bad meal here ever. The live piano music is such a joy and adds to the dining experience. If you want to experience fine dining at its best, then Stoney Point is the place to go.

Yelp
Great food , superb service , lovely piano and singers on Saturday night. I love this place.

Favi V.

Yelp
I have got to say this place is a hidden gem. The food is something to rave about. I had the homemade meatballs and spaghetti, the pasta was made just right, the meatballs were savory. The drinks are made by someone who knows how to pour. Love the chocolate martini "sweet with a kick". The service is old school. The wait staff is friendly, accommodating, and just make you feel so welcome to be there. They greet you coming in and going out and actually check on you with a smile every time. The ambiance is something to acknowledge. There is live piano music playing in this nice intimate setting. This place is soft, warm, and welcoming. Overall, I have never been disappointed here. I had to share a good find.

Yelp
Managed to make another trip around the area and decided to visit Stoney point again, such lovely memories. This time around I skipped the penne a la vodka and went straight for the lamb chops and let me tell you, these were cooked perfectly and to my preference, absolutely delicious. The sauce accompanied with the dish was impeccable. I would give this dish a 10/10. Some of the best lamb chops I've had. Lucky for me I managed to pick off a piece of the petite filet mignon, this dish came with a bordelaise type sauce which paired perfectly with the steak. Absolutely fantastic. We also managed to order the calamari and shrimp platter and of course we had to order some bruschetta as well. I'm a huge fan of shrimp, and let me tell you, not one was left. It seems whatever dish you may order at Stoney point, it will always be delicious. For desert we had chocolate cake, this came to us warm and with a side of whip cream. This was such a delight to have especially with the cold night, and of course, I had to end my dinner with a cappuccino. The staff was very friendly and the service was great, I'll definitely be coming back, who knows? Maybe I'll be a regular. Until next time, who knows what dish I'll try next.

Paul H.

Yelp
Music, especially on Thursday is amazing. Wendy is great! Food is wonderful, service is excellent!

Kristin A.

Yelp
This is a classic, fine dining Italian restaurant, serving outstanding pastas, seafood and chicken dishes. The service is always perfect. It's like stepping into a better time... piano playing, martini ordered, special's of the night shared and a great meal in the way!
google avatar

Dalisay H.

Yelp
Last minute choice for dinner. We called & they said come on in! Hubby had the meatloaf. He loved it! I had ossobuco. Beyond delicious! Meat just fell off the bone. Cocktails were nice & strong! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jose D.

Yelp
We came in (party of 4)Tuesday night no reservation about an hour before closing. We were offered a couple of options of tables and we took a round table by the piano. We were having an intimate conversation so it was nice to have our conversation mildly drowned out by the piano player. We later had him play a couple of requests and he didn't disappoint, food, always good, we usually save this place for birthdays and special occasions but for us being just down the street we need to make this a regular spot. Highly recommended and ask your servers if you're not sure what to order or for wine pairings they never fail!

Jackson B.

Yelp
Still a great atmosphere. Service is 5 star and piano bar is awesome. As with all other restaurants these days, prices are going up which sadly may mean less frequent visits. Hope they can figure out how to hold the line though -- my last dinner there was $90 just for one entree (NY strip), one martini, tax and tip. Steak was overcooked unfortunately -- ordered medium rare and came out medium well. Flavor was nice, however. One suggestion: if your specials are going to be priced significantly out of line with your regular menu, you may wish to consider providing the price in advance either on a printed or chalkboard specials menu or verbally by the waiter.

Cindy M.

Yelp
The service was amazing on a busy Saturday night. The food was good. The gnocchi was delicious and the duck was spectacular.
google avatar

Brian U.

Yelp
I have been to many restaurants in Pasadena and I give this one 10 stars. A small venue with a great wait staff, very reasonable prices and best of all..... a chef that creates the best dishes !!! Personally the best bruschetta ever Plus more. Best stop in Pasadena
google avatar

Gary S.

Yelp
We always love Stoney Point. It's kind of an oasis of an old-style restaurant, with character and even has a piano in the bar area. And they've added a covered patio since the pandemic.
google avatar

Phong N.

Yelp
I haven't been here over 20 years. It's an odd place geographically. But quite good. The wait staff has been there quite awhile and career waiters. The crowd on a Friday night are mostly elderly with a mix of the country club crowd, so it's a respectable venerable place. The food is old-fashioned but done very well. I had the spaghetti and clams in red sauce which is great. The clams very very small so your protein is a small portion. If you're looking for protein, this is not your dish. The short rib special was delicious with a nice caramelization on the outside and tender on the inside. The Mexican sea bass with lemon caper was also done well and came with broccoli and mashed potatoes. So again, old-fashioned but executed well. Bottom line is it's a classic old restaurant and the food is executed well. It's not your creative and new Italian-American cuisine. If you want venerable, piano bar, classic Italian then this is your place. I would suggest that the place needs a splash of creativity in there menu. I'll be back more regularly, now that I know what I get. Oh, desserts are a highlight. Dinner for 5, 3 cocktails, 1 salad, and I brought my own wine and with tip was 400$. So not cheap but not Westside prices. Try them out and buon appetito!!
google avatar

Mara F.

Yelp
The best! Impeccable service, immaculate energy. I always leave happy thanks to Adolfo and co.

Stan C.

Yelp
I've been dining here for over 20 years. The food is exceptional. The service is even better! The cocktails are great. The owners and staff are extremely attentive. The price is not high at all. It's a very good deal considering how good it is! I've never had a bad dish or meal there. Their corkage is competitive, so no complaints there either. I recommend Stoney Point, a wonderful restaurant. Tonight, I sat at table 11.

Yelp
Hidden gem of Pasadena vicinity,@ a 'hidden' location; but truly a restaurant unlike others nearby . This place has the old world charm of Italy. And the food here showcases the best of italian cuisine, so authentic that i feel like dining in Europe .Plus they have live music on weekend.. Delicious meal along with nice piano performance, and the service here is top notched, what else can i ask for more to my satisfaction. And last , they have the best Soufflé in whole Southern California.

Yelp
Kelly and the entire staff are so amazing! They make you feel like family as soon as you walk in the door! This really is such a special place with a great history! Good wine, and delicious dirty and espresso martinis! You can't go wrong with the Pasta and Desserts. My favorites are the Lobster Ravioli, Duck a'lorange and Tiramisu!
