My boyfriend and I dined at Stoney River for his birthday celebration. When we asked our waitress about a specific wine, she was unsure but proposed a more popular option at a lower price point. I asked her to consult with someone more knowledgeable. The manager she summoned, unfortunately, was not well-versed in wines either. She did, however, offer us an alternative wine from the same region to sample. We ultimately decided to purchase the original bottle. Later, another server, who refilled our water, showcased extensive knowledge of the wine list, making us question why he wasn't consulted earlier. The food was average, with underwhelming deviled eggs and satisfactory calamari. The onion soup was pretty good. The steak frites were not good. The standout item was the rolls. Our server appeared to be either new or inadequately trained, as she seemed unfamiliar with the menu and wine list. This dinner, was in my opinion not worth the $400 we spend.

We went to Stoney River Steakhouse for my husband's birthday with our adult son. The venue has a quiet, rustic elegance and the staff are absolutely wonderful! Our waitress was very helpful, informative, pleasant and professional. We wanted a place to go for an elevated, relaxing celebration and Stoney River more than delivered. The food was absolutely perfect and the atmosphere lent itself to lovely, cozy conversations with it's My guys each had a steak meal and I had the cedar plank salmon and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Celebrated my birthday at Stoney River in Annapolis—I’d been looking forward to trying this spot, and it didn’t disappoint. The food was great! Service was a bit slow at times, but overall, I had a really good experience. Our server, Grant, did a solid job taking care of our party of 10. The steak and cheese eggrolls were the absolute highlight—seriously a must-try. The rockfish was also incredible: flavorful, flaky, and perfectly cooked. I’ll definitely be back!

Our server Amber was great! She was very knowledgeable and attentive the entire time. When we come back we’ll be asking for her again. The food was amazing!! The ribeye with a loaded baked potato, the shrimp toast, the egg rolls and the Caesar salad was great!

This was our 4th year spending our anniversary at Stoney River. Every year has been better than the last. The food is aways wonderful, the entire staff goes out of their way to stop by and check on us and wish us a wonderful anniversary. We especially want to comment on 2 staff members in particular....the host (we cant remember his name. So sorry!!) Was WONDERFUL and so friendly. And of course we love that he complimented our hair:). And secondly our server...Ben. Ben is an absolute DOLL. He was attentive, personable and absolutely made the evening. We had a great chat with him and enjoyed every second of it. As a server he was prompt, meticulous and well spoken. As a fellow human hes just a gem and we certainly hope to see him again. Thank you to the entire staff of stoney River for making sure to make our annual tradition feel special. And thank you to Ben for being the outstanding human you are.

Stopped in for lunch. Croutons on my Caesar salad were warm! Meatloaf sandwich was divine. No draft beer 😐. Will be back.

I've been here a couple times. I enjoy the atmosphere sitting at the bar and main dining area. The steaks here never disappoints. The prime cuts are tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. The Coffee Encrusted Steak with caramelized onion mashed potatoes is one of my favorites and the best steakon the menu!! Also, 5 stars to the Bone-in Ribeye and Cucumber Salad.

Yelp
I went to Stoney River for my birthday and had no idea it was tucked around the back of Annapolis Mall. Me and my friend sat at the bar, where they also had high-top tables with full service. I'm not sure what the bartender's name was, but he was just okay. Service could have been a little better with more check-ins and making sure we got everything we asked for. Now the food? So good. Those steak egg rolls might be the best I've ever had. They were packed with steak and not overloaded with cheese, which I loved. I ordered the ribeye and paired it with the cauliflower for my veggie. I also tried their loaded one-pound baked potato and it did not disappoint. I like that all their steaks come with some kind of potato automatically. The ribeye itself was flavorful, but I wish it had that melt-in-your-mouth feel. I ordered it medium rare, but the texture wasn't quite hitting like I wanted. The drinks were decent, but the real star was that complimentary bread. It gave sweet doughnut vibes and tasted amazing with the butter. The dress code was more casual than I expected too, which made the vibe feel even more laid-back and comfortable. Even though the service was just okay, the food and overall vibe made it a solid birthday dinner. I would go back to try more.

Yelp
A beautiful, open, restaurant with enough options without being overwhelming. We had the prime rib, mussels, steak egg rolls, and crab cake. Everything was tasty. Also loved the rolls that came to the table. They have cocktail options and house wines. I had a mix that I wasn't a fan of but that's okay. Young staff who is friendly and kind. They had to be reminded about items a few times but again everyone was kind.

Yelp
Ambiance: This is a relaxed place. I like that they don't jam in a table for every square inch of space available. It gives the place a more exclusive and unencumbered feeling. Service: Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. No complaints. She was easy to talk to and listened to what we needed. I was the problem child because I am on a carnivore diet, but everything work out well. Food: Really really good. I didn't feel the steak egg rolls were my favorite (I just ate the inside steak and cheese) but my daughter loved them. The Coffee cured steak was so tender. You get a 10oz steak. I think filet? Anyway, it practically melts in your mouth. Some may find the coffee flavor will overwhelm the steak flavor. If you are NOT a big coffee fan, do not get this steak. I was there so I had to try once. I love coffee so I had to at least try. Overall, pretty good place. We will be back.

Yelp
Had an impromptu dinner date here with friends as they recommended the location given the proximity to where I was staying and the fact that it was a steakhouse chain they've had before. First impression walking in was that it had the right buzz for a steakhouse on a Saturday... crowded with lots of chatter and laughter and the aromas in the air made my tummy ready to eat. We had a reservation and were seated a few minutes after the scheduled time. Our server immediately greeted us and asked if we would like to place beverage orders and then ran through the daily specials (which sounded delicious). We ordered cocktails and appetizers both of which were delivered in the perfect amount of time and both of which were really good with the cheesesteak egg rolls and my lemon drop martini being the best ! I went with the coffee crusted filet and creamed spinach for my entree and while the filet was cooked perfectly, the coffee crust left the filet feeling and tasting a bit like beef jerky ... and while it wasn't a bad thing it wasn't what I expected but I wasn't too sure on whether that's what it should've tasted like. The creamed spinach was really cheesy and well seasoned. My friends e hired their entrees overall and we even opted to share a slice of lemon cheesecake for dessert which was sooooo good! Overall a nice dinner experience and I would probably keep Stoney River in my mind as an option should I ever run across one again.

Yelp
This was my second time at this location. The first time being a while ago. The ambiance hasn't changed much, but the quality of the food and service has. My most recent experience most definitely cannot compare to the first time I was there. In my opinion, things have gone down. The quality of my ribeye was subpar. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was definitely medium rare at best. The flavor lacked the depth and richness that I look for in a good ribeye. It was presented in two medallion pieces with no sear. However, the au gratin potatoes were the star of my plate. Perfectly sliced & seasoned with the perfect balance of creamy richness. I told my husband, they could've been my meal with the house salad I ordered. He had the sea bass, which appeared well cooked on a bed of sautéed spinach and rice. He enjoyed it, just felt they could've given more of the accompaniments. Let me say, our actual server was extremely pleasant and attentive but the food runners had this way of sliding our plates on the table while never slowing down or stopping. I felt as if our food was being "dealt". It was unlike anything I've experienced before. I feel like it was an off night for them because I know their potential so I'll be back. Give them a try if you've never been here and let me know what you think.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at the old faithful Stoney River for my niece's 18th bday last Sunday. As much as she frequents Annapolis Mall it was her 1st time there and she loved it! The Steak Rolls and Stacked Cheeseburger were both juicy and the burger was truly stacked! The burger doesn't even need all the fixins. The Rockfish was buttery, lemony and flaky. Sky was our server & was outstanding! She knew the menu well, was very courteous, and hilarious and it was only her 1st day at the Annapolis location when she hails from Towson. The 5 stars, STILL!

Yelp
We used to love the food and service at this Stoney River location, but during my most recent visit they looked pretty unkempt and in need of a deep clean. Additionally, I was disappointed in having been sat at a table and then ignored for extended time with very few patrons on a Saturday night... so we left and went over to the new firebirds restaurant and enjoyed a great dinner. This is my third visit here in recent months that has been lackluster and seems like this location is going downhill.

Yelp
This is my first time dining at Stoney River and it was pretty good! I dined there with a friend for lunch and sat in the bar area. From the time we entered we were greeted by such warm and friendly hostesses. They were great! The service was good and the decor in the restaurant was modern, open, and upscale. For lunch we both tried salads. I had the Cobb salad with some modifications (no bacon, blue cheese or ranch dressing). I added Parmesan cheese and had the fresh herb dressing. It was AMAZING! This is the best salad I've had in a while. It was so flavorful, the perfect portion and I'll definitely be having it again. My friend had the beet salad and added sautéed shrimp and she loved it! She said the salad was so fresh and the fried cheese and dressing was a welcome surprise. Now here's for my minus star.... The drinks. I initially ordered the lemondrop mojito (two of my favorite drinks combined). As I took a sip, the flavor was tasty but I started to feel off. I immediately asked the bartender if it was pineapple in the drink (I'm allergic) and he said yes. Not his fault, but rather the restaurant. Maybe adding a description that at least includes main ingredients would be appreciated as I would have never guessed two drinks that do not include pineapple would in the combined version. The bartender took immediate action and made me a traditional lemon drop martini which was tasty but I took a star off due to the establishments lack of autonomy. My best friend had a Hendricks gimlet up and said that it was pretty bitter is if too much like was used. Here are our scores: Cobb salad - 5/5 Beet salad w/ shrimp - 5/5 Lemondrop Mojito - if I wasn't allergic I'd say 5/5 it was tasty but I can't have it! Lemondrop Martini - 5/5 Hendricks Gimlet - 3/5 All in all we were pleased with our experience and said we'd like to try brunch next!

Yelp
Came here on a whim last night with my boyfriend. We didn't have any reservations, but were able to get seated quickly. The restaurant is very spacious, and the interior reminds me a bit of Cooper Canyon Grille in Arundel Mills Mall. Our server was very sweet and attentive. To start, they offered complimentary bread shaped like dough balls. The bread was hot and tasted like honey with garlic. For food, I ordered the steak frites with au gratin potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the grill Nola shrimp with broccoli, southern rice and mango salsa. I had my steak cooked medium and it was great! It came with a side of chimichurri, but there were a few different options for sauces to go with your steak. It was my first time eating au gratin potatoes and it is a very rich dish. It was creamy, cheesy, and had a great broiled and crispy top. I loved that although I could only eat it once in a blue moon lol. My boyfriend's shrimp was well cooked and seasoned. He doesn't eat rice so I took his. I'm a rice person, but this rice was just ok. I added the mango salsa to the rice and it elevated the flavor. Overall, great experience. I would revisit if ever in the area again.

Yelp
We decided to go to Stoney River for my sister's birthday. Management was wonderful and arranged for us to have dinner in one of their private rooms. The table bread, very reminiscent of the Ozzie rolls served in Great American chain restaurants, came out piping hot. They were truly addictive, making it hard not to get full on bread. We ordered the steak rolls as a starter. The rolls were stuffed with chunks of ribeye and cheesy goodness. Delicious to say the least. My husband ordered the Steak Frites, which he said was a little over cooked. I ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly medium with a light pink middle. My mother and sister enjoyed their hearty portion of grilled salmon and shrimp. The loaded baked potatoes and mac and cheese were amongst our favorite side dishes.

Yelp
I saw this place walking in the mall and decided to give it a shot. My family and I chose Father's Day of all days and originally things didn't seem to be going right but boy did they pick up. We arrived around 2 and this place was PACKED however outdoor seating was open. We took it as there were 11 of us. Little did we know that shift change was occurring as we waited about 15 minutes from water. This was the bad part of the day. Once the shift change occurred the service was OUTSTANDING. For starters we ordered the steak egg rolls. HOLY TOLEDO! Real steak inside with delicious cheese and some AMAZING dipping sauce. They give you 3 egg rolls split in half. 10 out of 5. They were that good. I'd go back just to get these. The bread that came out was amazing as well. They were super soft with a donut type of taste. Top tier. For dinner/lunch I ordered the New York Strip with the loaded 1lb potato. The steak could have been better. It had plenty of flavor but I'm more of a porterhouse guy. The potato was GREAT! Very large, perfectly seasoned, great toppings. My wife ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. The meatloaf had a lot of mushrooms which was a little surprising however the mashed potatoes were great. Overall, I'll be back for sure. The steak egg rolls are enough for me to return. The service turned out to be really good. I can't wait to go inside for a nice date.

Yelp
Stony River!!!! This place was awesome!! I received a rec from my bestie Rae M for my boyfriend's birthday! Stony River did not disappoint!!! I made dinner reservations and we were seated right away!! We were greeted by a very nice young man who went over their specials and provided additional information as needed! We skipped appetizers as we were both kinda hungry! I ordered the ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and a Cesar salad! He ordered grilled salmon with garlic mash and steamed broccoli! The food was impeccable! And we also enjoyed the poppy seed rolls with the cinnamon butter!! So much so that our server gave us some to go! We were his last table for the night! Everything from top to bottom was great! My boyfriend was super happy and this was a great experience! I will definitely go back for more as this was an awesome experience!

Yelp
Service was A1 and the complimentary bread and butter was very good. The ambiance is very nice too. For starters we had spinach dip and steak rolls which were real good. My cedar plank salmon which I got blackendes was seasoned to perfection and the fries were great as well. I definitely will be back again. Definitely give this establishment a try.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant inside Annapolis Mall, with an entrance on the exterior as well. It's a nicer type of place, but there isn't any dress code that I'm aware of. Everyone seemed to be pretty casual, but the food is definitely a notch or two elevated from ordinary. I had the smoked salmon dip, which was chunky and very tasty. It's very thick, so not like a spinach-artichoke thing. More like a spread. Quite tasty. For my entree, I went with the Filet Oscar, with crabmeat and hollandaise. It was very good! The service was really good, too. Our waitress came by the table often with refills and to check on us in general. I was kind of surprised, because the place was PACKED! Definitely recommend reservations here. They do walk-ins, but you might have to wait a while. If it's for a special occasion, CALL AHEAD! The prices are a bit steep, but about what you might expect from a fine steakhouse. The thing is, I wouldn't necessarily classify Stoney River as a steakhouse. Sure, it's fancy enough, but they do a lot more than steaks. The vibe is more of a fine dining establishment, but an accessible one... not an exclusive place. Anyway, great food, great service, but expect a long wait (even with a reservation) and a crowded atmosphere, along with high prices. It's well worth visiting, but I'd prefer something quieter for a more intimate or romantic setting.

Yelp
My sister, her best friend and I went here for Valentine's Day! The place was packed out. The restaurant is beautiful! Great layout with an overflow room. The service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and the other waiters and other staff were just as helpful if you needed them. I appreciated that the manager went around checking on everyone after they ate. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy much of the items I ordered. I ordered the crab cake with a Dijon sauce, lobster bisque, and the sea bass with spinach and sticky white rice and a sauce that comes with it. I did not like the crab cake and the sauce that came with it was very bitter. The lobster bisque was overpowered by the sherry that was in it which left a bad after taste. It was also cold. The sea bass was pretty good. The spinach had bok choy pieces in it and did not taste good at all. However, the sticky rice with the wine reduced sauce was divine! I am not a fan but I hear it is more of a steak place. My sister enjoyed her steaks immensely!

Yelp
This place had been one of our "go to" spots for a more upscale meal experience. However, in recent years the food quality and service has slipped. My favorites were always the whiskey river shrimp, the cheesesteak eggrolls and the meatloaf. Well, the last several time we've been there: the shrimp was cold, laying on its side on the plate, the sauce was cold, almost refrigerated cold, much smaller than usual and chewy/tough. The cheesesteak rolls were overcooked and had weird hard chunks in the meat, almost like bone chunks. The meatloaf was burned on one side and crunchy on the corners, not just charred but actually hard crunchy and therefore inedible on those parts. The servers were not knowledgeable of the menu and seemed like they didn't even want to be there. Unfortunate, because we are big tippers regardless of service or even food quality (which we STILL did with each of these less than stellar last few experiences). However, it'd be nice to feel good about these big tips we leave. Management should really look into what has changed there and change it back.

Yelp
This Stoney River (SR) review is a long time coming. SR in Annapolis is indeed one of our favorite spots for dining. I would like to highlight an individual waiter/waitress, but I can't do that because during each dining experience, our waiters were always cool, knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly, on point! To make a long review short, simply add SR to your list of restaurants to try. As for the food, we certainly have our favorites. But honestly, I have not been disappointed yet; Even the burger is worth the trip. The aesthetics are upscale, especially for the location. The atmosphere is relaxed and the dining experience is clean. This review is also a recommendation. It's the double seasoned steak for me. You have to ask for extra seasoning. There's actually a term for extra seasoning. Just ask your waiter... Enjoy the pics :)

Carlos R.

Yelp
Terrible service, long waiting for reservation, food took too long to be served for the food to be cold and the waitress was rude and nonchalant
google avatar

Yelp
I've enjoyed the Stoney River bar for the steak rolls and wine. Dinner revealed some weak spots. Restaurant was empty. Staff had trouble finding my reservation. Service was attentive. Started with bread "doughnuts" and soft butter. Loved it!!! These are good. Steak rolls were thin sliced steak covered in yellow sauce, fried and cut in half. Steak was crunchy and not as expected. Salad was limp and over done with the dressing. Highlight of the meal was the filet mignonette-10 oz cut. It was fantastic. Cooked perfectly and smothered in butter and salt. Mashed potato's were lumpy and kinda bland without any sauce to bathe it in. Broccoli also was just ok while in the past it had been excellent. So, know what's good and order accordingly and you can have an excellent meal.

Yelp
Tried this spot for the first time although I've always seen it. Had a reservation for 7:15 but didn't get seated to about 7:35. Place was PACKED!! Our server Kimmie was very pleasant and attentive and took care of us with water, drinks and fresh warm bread with sweet butter. Food took about long to come out but once it did everything was hot, seasoned well and tasted great. I ordered the Hung Kong Sea Bass which was simply seasoned, perfectly grilled over a bed of sautéed spinach and sticky rice. Pair that with a great Old Fashioned and you've got a tasty dinner. Overall, greatly sat and will return.

Yelp
I had not been to Stoney River in years, forgotten how much I loved this place! I met a girlfriend for a girls night, Stoney River is her go-to. Beautiful restaurant. Service was impeccable! 5 stars! We sat a high top in the bar. Our server could not have been any nicer. So sweet and friendly. My lemon mojito was absolutely delicious. Refreshing and yummy. I ordered the crab cake appetizer with a side of gouda Mac and Cheese. Our server warned me the crab cake was not the "normal" Maryland Crab Cake. It was very different than the typical Maryland crab cake, very good nonetheless. That Gouda Mac and Cheese! So creamy and delicious! Definitely a 5 star spot!

Yelp
We made a reservation for Valentine's Day and when we arrived for our 9pm reservation we were told we would have a 35 minute wait, made no sense. It was packed upon entering a lot of people were waiting to be seated. A couple was there for a 7:30pm reservation and got seated around 9:20pm. We just made the decision to leave and go to another restaurant in the area. I just don't understand why people that made reservations could not be accommodated at the time that they booked for and the hostess was rude and impatient. Do better!

Cindy Z.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to have lunch at Stony River today. The food was amazing. I had prime rib and he had ribeye steak. The food was served hot and timely. What really made the outing was the exceptional service. From the greeter to our waitstaff Tori. I believe she was the best waitress I have ever had!!!! She definitely elevated our skipped out from work lunch.

Yelp
I'm only reviewing my experience so far, without my food. I've been here previously and loved it. So naturally when I came back I planned to order what I had before, the fried shrimp. Unfortunately, there was a menu change and the fried shrimp, along with the chicken tenders and ribs, were removed to provide a more steakhouse experience. For me this was a HUGE disappointment as I came specifically for the fried shrimp. Trying to just enjoy my prebirthday meal, we decided to stay. I ordered the fried calamari. To my surprise, they were SALTY. Salty for me is usually a plus but not when it makes your tongue numb. Our server Grant removed the calamari and offered to have it remade but I was not feeling lucky enough to give it another shot.

Yelp
I usually come to Stony River for dinner, but today I stopped by for lunch. I started my meal off with the steak rolls and the spinach dip. Both were delicious. The steak in the eggrolls was flavorful and it came with a ranch dipping sauce. The spinach dip is some of the freshest spinach dip I've ever had. It tastes like they're growing spinach out back, and picking it before they prepare the dip. I had the fried shrimp with green beans for my entree. Everything tasted good, but more than 6 shrimp would have been nice.

Yelp
Stoney River has been a solid place to go for years so this quick Happy Hour visit was no different. We sat in the bar/lounge area and were greeted by the bartender right away. I love going right at the start of happy hour because it's always pretty quiet and never too crowded. We ordered a few drinks, deviled eggs, cheesesteak egg rolls, and burgers. The meal was delivered promptly and it was a great meal as always.

Yelp
First, it disappoints me to give Stoney River 3 stars for tonight. I am a big fan but tonight just wasn't it. The service was great. We had several waitstaff helping us because we were there for a birthday dinner in one of the party rooms. The ambiance was dim and giving off of vibe that great food was about to be served...NOT! I ordered the 14oz ribeye medium well. This temp usually gives me a juicy center and not too pink. There was very little shrinkage with this steak however it was very dry. When I cut it, the meat appeared jagged but I saved my appetite all day so I just gnawed thru it ! The family style potatoes came out, sitting like DPW scooped up salt for a Maryland snow storm. They were so STIFF!!!!!!!!! They are usually creamy and delicious. The steamed broccoli was like it had never been steamed at all or seasoned at all. I had to cut it with a knife. For the newbies that was with us tonight, it was hard to convince them that our $129.00 per person bill was worth it. It truly was not.

Yelp
Bottom Line: A comfy and quieter option for dining at the mall. Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill is one of the nicer restaurants at the Annapolis Mall. Not that I do a whole lot of mall shopping these days (does anyone?) but when I am in the area and running errands its a great place to relax afterwards. We've sat in the bar and in the dining room and we have a slight preference for a comfy booth in the dining room. As far as food goes, its usually pretty good. Sometimes we keep it light with a salad and other times we go for the gusto and get steaks. In either case, I am always glad to dive into the warm rolls and honey butter. On my most recent visit it was about 5:30pm on a Saturday night and it was packed! We were seated in about 20 minutes which was great but we found the kitchen to be very slow which wasn't so great. I had the Steak N' Fries. My New York Strip steak was overcooked but satisfied my craving for a steak. Being attached to the mall Stoney River is more casual than you typical steakhouse but we still try to be a little more "dressed" when dining there.

Yelp
This was everyones first time dining here. Perhaps the main chef(s) were not working last evening, because when each person in my party of 9 dislikes how their meal was prepared, and I see all of the 5-star reviews on Yelp, something definitely does not add up. 3 of us had the salmon - all 3 were not prepared/cooked properly. The waitress/service was very good.

This food is so good!! My friends were raving about the bread and food so they took me one evening and I loved it. The Whiskey Shrimp appetizer was sooo good! I took one bite and almost shed a tear because it was so tasty! The steak rolls were excellent as well! For the entree, I got a burger and fries which was okay. The second time I visited I got the Whiskey Shrimp again and the Bistro Chicken, which I enjoyed. During both visits, the ambience and customer service was great! I look forward to visiting again. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
First of all, this place was an amazing experience. The entrance was beautiful. Where my sibling and myself were seated was close to the fire place and it was so elegant. The restaurant had a bar but it was shut off from the table diners which I appreciated. Originally my party was supposed to be 6 but needed up turning into 8 adults and two kids but thank goodness for laps for seats because I was not trying to miss this experience! The staff was very accommodating and nice. Stoney River Steakhouse doesn't owe me anything and I want to come back really soon My family and I came here for dessert, sibling chit chat, and drinks! Our waiter was awesome! Very attentive and all around just great at his job. I do hope I get him again for my server. They dinner rolls and butter to be honest is in competition with TEXAS ROAD HOUSE! I kid you not! The rolls and butter is worth a try!!!!! I ordered the steak rolls for an appetizer which were really good definitely great portion size for what you spend on the food I was able to share! I wasn't a fan of the sauces that the rolls came with but the rolls were great by themselves I ordered my Husband and my food to go We have the prime rib of beef and the center cut - 12 oz of filet mignon Both entrees were well cooked For dessert I had the chef special which was crème brûlée and it was so creamy, smooth, butter but hints of yummy vanilla bean!!! Can't go wrong with fresh fruit! My siblings enjoyed the carrot cake and chocolate cake they were all so good I took a few bits of the cakes! Very moist and for $13-$15 dollars you get a huge piece of cake!!!!! Drinks we had were: southern peach, Long Island, and the lemon drop mojito!!!! My Saturday was so full! Truly enjoyed myself Stoney River is worth trying!

Yelp
It was our anniversary and we decided to celebrate here! Everything was amazing from the time we arrived. We asked for a booth near the fireplace but the folks who were seated there seemed to be squatting for awhile. At any rate, the hostess asked us if we were ok being seated somewhere else and I said yes. I'm happy that they tried to accommodate my request. The staff was really nice. The food was really good and the restaurant was really cozy. Husband wanted his steak cut by the chef to make sure it wasn't red at all and they complied. We didn't order dessert because we were so stuffed. The manager sent us some champagne for an anniversary toast. That was so kind. That made our night! We will definitely be back to celebrate many more milestones.

Yelp
Adding pics from a recent visit because I actually tried something new. (Ha!) -HOT CHICKEN BISCUITS: Nashville HOT, indeed. Goodness. Gracious! -PAN-ROASTED COLD WATER SALMON w/GARLIC WHIPPED POTATOES + BROCCOLI (SZECHAUN STYLE; 'naked' is also an option.) - Very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Somebody whipped these potatoes into oblivion, because they were extremely light and fluffy. I didn't try any, but was told that the broccoli was on point (delicious). The consistency still amazes me. In all my years, I've never had a bad meal here. Ever! __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish

Yelp
9.6.22 Updated review no changes food is very good here, we eat at the bar service I always excellent bartenders are very friendly. I did order 1 thing different this time I had the chicken slides and the house salad with house vinaigrette. The sliders came on mini biscuits 2 pickles hot sauce and some other white sauce. Chicken was very tender I only eat 2 it comes with 4, I took 1/2 my salad and the other 2 sliders home for lunch the next day. I placed the chicken in my toaster oven for 3 min and then the biscuits for 2 and they tasted just like at the restaurant. I will get these again.

Yelp
Yesterday, we had maybe our 50th visit to this restaurant. They got rid of that comfy couch in front of the fireplace, but we got a nice booth nearby. Martin casually greeted us and was awesome through the entire lunch, and received their awesome rolls with honey butter which resemble more like beignets while we waited. We had a "french dip", which isn't on the menu, but they're happy to make it for you. Perfectly medium rare, with crispy, hot shoestring parm fries, and a caesar salad --which was nice and cold, and well dressed. Gotta have the dressing! Wife had a generously measured glass of the Prisoner red blend, and I had a dark rum old fashioned. I didn't like it, but I wanted to try it, since I hadnt seen one before. Everyone was cheerful. Overall, excellent visit.

Yelp
Inside was nice with low romantic lighting. Everyone was very nice. However the food wasn't as good as I imagined and overpriced. It was my first time so I may give them one more try. I would say the portions are generous. The steak I heard came out good from my son so maybe stick with that. The presentation of the food was nice too!

Yelp
This review is for late lunch for two at the bar on a Saturday afternoon in mid September. Service: Appeared to be shift change and we had two different female bartenders. They were fine; however, not very knowledgeable about beer choices. bar: They were out of RAR Brewing Nanticoke Nectar IPA on tap. They were also out of IPAs in bottles or cans. Seems odd that a full service bar would not have at least one IPA available? I drank a Left Hand Brewing Company Milk Stout. food: Stoney River's complimentary bread is amazing. My wife had the Thai Chicken Salad ($19) and it was very good. I had the French Dip ($23) and it was OK. We've eaten at innumerable J. Alexanders and have never seen a well done French Dip? Parm fries were spectacular. Some of the best fries we've ever had. Details: I dunno, improvisational jazz for lunch? Seemed a bit over-the-top. Maybe it works when restaurant is packed? Space is beautiful with modern stone and steel. There is outdoor seating, but it was raining and outdoor seems to overlook a loading dock? It's mall adjacent, so plenty of parking right outside the door.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to try this place out because it had pretty good reviews. I'll keep this as short as I can. Ambiance - very nice and clean Service - waitress acted like she didn't want to be there. Didn't make any recommendations nor had much knowledge about the food. Food - I enjoyed the tasty, hot bread and butter before my meal. I did not enjoy my meal. I ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon with lemon Dijon butter. Very little smoky flavor from the plank could be tasted. The honey butter topping smother across the entire salmon was salty and burnt. Underneath all that topping, the salmon was bland. The sides were ok. It came with broccoli and whipped mashed potatoes My friend ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad. She enjoyed it, but was so upset at the lack of great service in such a nice looking place. Maybe I just ordered the wrong item, but after not liking my meal and the waitress not being so friendly, I won't be back.

Yelp
The steaks that my family and I got tonight there were not good. zero taste or seasoning. might as well ate plain hamburger patties. For the price they want for these steaks. You might as well go to long horn were the steaks are great and the price of one Stoney river steak you can get two full entrees at any other steak place. The service was good. But the food to price is just ridiculous...

Yelp
Waited 15 minutes before a waitress came over despite it being lunchtime and a half empty room. Also waited 10 minutes after waters/teas came until wine came. Also had to ask for the rolls. Guy in chef's jacket kept coming out and staring into dining room, very weird. Didn't have the normal filet 3 ways meal but just filet tenderloins with sauce, 1 total piece of asparagus, and "jumbo lump crab meat". Mine was literally shedded crab meat that looked like claw meat at best. All for $49 with one side. Although we didn't complain, they did give us a free dessert for the initial wait for a waitress to come over. Not sure we will be back.

Yelp
A fancy, up-scale steakhouse that is a great place for a date night or a night out with friends. Service: The service is good. Our waitress kept our drinks filled and she was good and knowledgeable about the menu. Going on Valentine's Day evening it definitely took every bit of 20 minutes to get seated as they warned us they were running a bit behind on the evening. The place was a bit crowded but it's to be expected for an infamous date night. They appeared to be keeping the restaurant clean and it was also kid friendly as some tables had kids at them too. Food: The food is the reason for the 4 star rating. I am guessing because it was such a busy evening that it put the restaurant a bit behind and the food wasn't as perfect as we expected. We both ordered our steaks at a Medium temperature, and the restaurant menu even says it is not guaranteed that any steak will come out at Medium-well nor well-done if ordered that way. However, while my steak came out medium, my partner's steak came out much closer to medium-well. I would be willing to give them another chance though. Overall: A place that I would return to for the right night or event. The place is a bit expensive but it definitely gives the ambiance of a higher tier steakhouse.

Yelp
We had reservations for 2:00 pm to celebrate my kid's birthday. We arrived shortly before and we were promptly seated. My daughter was given a birthday card that was signed by some members of the staff and I thought that was a thoughtful gesture. Our server was Kimmy/Kimberly. She was extremely pleasant and attentive. Atmosphere was nice and comfortable. We received bread, which were good. It's a warm poppyseed type roll, similar to what you get at Mike's and Patsy's if you've ever been there. We shared the steak and cheese egg rolls (delicious). My kid had the stacked burger and fries (she said they were yummy). My husband had fried shrimp with fries (he said it was really good). I had the chicken fingers with Cole slaw and baked potato (I liked it all except the slaw. It needed something...more). My daughter was also given a complimentary slice of chocolate cake for her birthday. Another wonderful gesture. The only thing I did not like was the lemonade. It was mixed with sprite. We would definitely go back, probably for dinner, to try other things.

Yelp
Ehh nothing to brag about... we came here on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30pm the restaurant was pretty empty and we were asked to wait until they got some tables cleaned up. The wait took about 5 minutes but there were plenty of empty tables so I'm not sure why we had to wait? Considering the fact that the restaurant was pretty empty the service was extremely slow. The food was ehhh... it was our first time here so maybe we just came on a bad day, overall we would give it a second chance.
