We've been coming here for a few years and this place is just the best. Great, simple, warm decor and ambiance. Great music at the perfect volume. Above all else, Jerry and Heidi are always so friendly and kind. The beer is excellent and quite potent 😄 We love the popcorn too. Looking forward to more get togethers here.

Super cool spot. Mug club, food trucks, original beers. Owner brewer is cool and fun to chat with, also plays good music. Centennial was my favorite beer.

A friendly welcoming environment. Came here to meet up with some friends and thoroughly enjoyed the chill and inviting atmosphere. We did not feel rushed or like a burden for taking as much time as we liked to catch up. 10/10 would recommend.

I believe this brewery is a husband and wife owned brewery who still seem to be in love after years, joking around behind the counter together! Definitely a regulars spot and they knew each person by their first name upon entering! I love the small town, friendly vibe! My mom had the lime and watermelon margarita mixed together, which she thought was alittle sour! I had a flight and really liked everything! I wish I lived closer so I could feel apart of the family!

Stony Lake Brewing is a sleepy little spot with top notch Brews and a great vibe. We tried several different beers and were pleasantly surprised by all of them. Lighted by Edison bulbs, stony lake brewing feels like a cozy cabin on the lake. Large TV on the wall playing local sports, super clean private bathrooms, and plenty of space to spread out. A little off the beaten path but, completely worth the stop. Really hope they have merch for our next visit!!

Stopped in here with a few friends for my birthday. The environment was pretty quiet. The beer was okay. We only stayed for one flight because none of us had ate. Overall it was just okay. Nothing spectacular stuck out to me. But the staff was nice. It had beer. And was close to home...so maybe we will be back.

RUDE. OBSTINATE. My wife, my toddler, and I recently moved to Saline from Ann Arbor and have been looking for a local place to enjoy, and decided to give Stony Lake a try. First off, there was a mix up with our beer order, which I can take responsibility for. I grabbed my wife's beer on accident. However, that beer, her beer (the session ipa) was off. We both agreed there was something definitely wrong with it. So, when I went to get a different one, they actually poured the same beer (gross session IPA), on accident. So, two poured (gross) beers went to waste. We figured it out though, got the 11th hour IPA, and it was good. Until I got my bill and they charged for the 2 returned beers. After bringing this up to the brew master, not only did he REFUSE to test his own beer, but he made it seem like we just didn't' like it. After I tried to explain something was off, he pulled a 10 dollar bill out of his wallet and says "I Get it, times are tough" and tosses it on the bar YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING. So I obviously just walked out after that. Feeling majorly insulted, I needed to call this guy and explain what he did was wrong. At which point he tells me they were pushing the last half of a 2 month old keg, ADMITTING WHY THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG, but still he can't get over his ego and just say sorry for being an ass. I could care less about the 10 bucks he tried to give me (which didn't actually refund the amount we paid for those beers btw), I just wanted a sincere apology and an acknowledgment of the issue we brought up. But nope, "We don't give away free beers" is what he says. So, my wife hops on the phone with the guy and explained to him that he just lost weekly customers going forward, he expresses a little remorse, expresses how they are going through tough times, but then ends the call with "We do things differently in Saline" and then laughs at her. GET REAL. This isn't about a refund, it's about being a respectable business owner. Check your product if somebody points out an issue. Don't gaslight your customers. And don't pull the whole "We do things differently" card. I'm honestly still wrapping my head around this experience. This was not just a bad look for his business, but a bad look for Saline in general. The other beer was actually pretty good, but whatever, we won't be drinking it. Good luck with this place. You reap what you sow.

You can't go wrong with any of their brews. Warning: all their beers are pretty high octane (abv) so budget your intake or you're going to be absolutely f*cked before dusk...but if that's your goal, this will get you where you need to be. This place blows away Salt Brewing Company, which is down the street and not worth your time at all.

Super little brewery. Great people behind the bar and a super brewer. Lots of great beer here. God's Wrath is a wonderful Imperial IPA, just like the Russian Imperial Stout is awesome. They have a biblical theme happening with Moses Staff, 2 Apostle, Revelation, and Angel's Share. Each are sooooo gooood. Going to church is wonderful!!

Pros: live music, owners are very nice Cons: there was some pretty meh beer So I had a blast listening to the music here. Its not a very big spot but it was great to see a really talented artist I follow. Stony lake gets some good artists to flow through their brewery. For this alone Id give them 4 stars. Ill definitely be back to watch live music in such an intimate setting. The cons for me were some of the beers. Most were lackluster. there was an ipa that I didnt even bother finishing. My favorite beer was the russian imperial stout. The ciders were pretty tasty though and they had a great cyser. Its a cool small town spot but definitely not a place that will be pumping out any crazy innovative beers or gathering lots of hype. In closing, I will definitely be back for the music. The owners are also so nice that I'd probably continue to give them my patronage if Im in the area. I wish them the best of luck and look forward to trying some more brews in the future.

Very nice small local brewery. The hoppy God's Wrath is my favorite, but I've never had a bad beer. The happy hour is the best deal!! Sipping on a Moses Staff (American IPA 8.2%) and it is delicious. The Dirty Deacon is another solid Scottish ale that you should try. The apple mead at 11% is wonderful. No food, cajun place right up the hill too. If it is on, The Big French Girl (Strong Saison), is well worth yhe trouble-so good!

We've been to this place on 3 separate occasions. The first experience was horrid. We think there was something funky in their lines. The beers tasted so bad that I couldn't even finish any of my samples. The second experience the beer definitely was better than the first time but still slightly below mediocre. Quite disappointing for a place with such high ratings? We hoped that it was just the beers they chose to brew that time around which is why we went the third and final time. Sadly the beers were mediocre and nothing special. It's definitely not something we would ever buy a growler for or even a flight. The staff is always incredibly friendly and the ambiance is nice. We also were going to go on a Friday and they were charging a $10 cover. We promptly turned around a left... live music or not your beer better on point if you're going to charge a cover like that.

Made our way out here on a foggy night to see what the new kid on the Washtenaw County beer block had to offer. Found a spare but pleasant space in a strip mall with a wide range of brews. To explore it, we got a four beer sample flight--a french style pale ale, a brown ale, the IPA, and a porter. None were exactly stunning but most were decent. Our favorites were the french pale and the brown, and we got pints of these to go with our take-in meal. They both had good body; my pale was mildy bitter with just a touch of sourness, the brown my wife got very smooth and rich with a nice little spark of hops. The porter was also very good, sweeter than most. As IPAs go, Stony Lake's is a bit of a wallflower. Not really enough hoppiness or fruit/floral notes to give it some personality. Their site described some other very interesting beers that were not on tap but due to appear soon and probably we will come back for those. Food is whatever you want to bring or have delivered--always an arrangement I appreciate in a brewpub. While I wouldn't say Stony Lake is the best in the business locally, my view on breweries is that you can never have too many in your neighborhood (and I'm construing my neighborhood very broadly here, being a half hour away), so I'm glad they're around.

Very nice place. Dont let the strip mall facade fool you. Excellent variety of choice. No food or it would be 5 star. Is 5 star for the products and ambiance. Wifi/phone signal is a bit weak in this area as well.

Nice, clean tap room and a variety of good quality beer. Can't get much better than that. We visited on a Friday night and were surprised it was pretty quiet here. Perhaps we were just ahead of the crowd? In any case, we received great service and enjoyed some flights. I really enjoyed the Break Your Fast Stout. Chocolate and coffee flavor in my beer is a personal favorite, but they have a very good variety of beers including some hard ciders, wines and soda. No food here, but you can bring food in yourself. There's pizza right next door, and we saw a few people enjoying one while drinking their beers.

I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I have been to a few pretty cool breweries. Checked this place out tonight and it did not disappoint! I loved the service, the suggestions, the beer, and the atmosphere of this brew pub. For a moment, I felt like I was in some swanky little Cali city. Can't wait to go back!

I love this place. Beer is amazing. Great place to try new flavors. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's great that you can bring your own food in or have it delivered. My son loves eating pizza, drinking the orange soda, and playing the games that are available. I enjoy the music that is played, trivia, and the bands. The decor is very nice and the mug club is a neat addition.

Best craft brewery in Washtenaw County. I love almost all of the beers they make and have on tap. Not a lot of weird stuff like you see at some of the bigger places, just a good variety of great IPAs, stouts, porters, ambers, and the occasional pilsner. Stony Lake has become my go-to place for growler fills.

Got a chance to visit while I was home for the holidays and Stony Lake had recently opened. -Awesome branding and decor in this place, they took a generic strip mall space and made it cool. -Great people- the family that runs the brewery is really kind, and you can tell have thrown all their efforts and passion into the business. Definitely take the time to talk to them! -You can bring food! -Plenty of parking Beer is delicious, but maybe not quite consistent yet. Loved the revelation black, but the too pale ale wasn't quite as hoppy as advertised. Looking forward to trying more next time I'm home!

I love this brewery. They serve just beer no food, but you can bring any food you want in and some restaurants even offer discounts if you get it delivered here! There are at least 10 beers on tap at all times and the styles will suit anyone. They have every style of beer, wine, cider, and even non-alcoholic soda for anyone underage. The prices are very reasonable and the owners work here 5 nights a week. Its a great place to come play some games and hang with friends. Taps are always rotating so if there's nothing on draft that suits your fancy just check back in a week.

Came in on a snowy, dreary Saturday around 430pm. It was quiet..a low chatter from tables, stevie nicks playing on the sound system..just a very nice, cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Im not the beer drinker, so i sampled the cherry hard cider and the apple mead. I was having a hard time deciding and the bartender recommended the cy-mosa..fresh orange juice with mead...OMG..love it!!! They have snacks, like nuts, popcorn and pub mix. Its a few dollars for each. Boyfriend is a big IPA fan. He tried the 2 apostle ale, on golden blonde, hops flash, cascade amber and Gods wrath IPA. He said all were good, but the cascade amber stood out far above the others. He really liked that one. Service was great. Chatted with the bartender and he was great. I think the personality of bartenders in these local breweries can make or break the experience, and he was great. Overall, we recommend stopping in for some great drinks and light snacks. Love the quier atmosphere.

Definately my families favorite Brewery in town, usually a weekly visit at the minimum. Pub Style service, so don't expect anyone to be hanging over your shoulder. Beer is very delicious and the proprietors, Jerry and Heidi are very friendly and social. Thanks for bringing your passion for craft brewing to Saline.

This bar continues to help me through difficult emotional pain, which we all go through from time to time. The beer is exceedingly delicious, and each pour satisfies the vast emptiness in my soul. After I drink here, I tend to go on long walks along which I brood and sulk and contemplate the meaning of life and the origins of the universe. They don't have a food menu, but you're welcome to bring in a sack lunch or hot food from any of the many local eateries. Food trucks often swing by, though, with many mouth-watering treats. Everyone who works here is warm, and they do a world-class job. If you see a sullen stranger at the bar, come around and I'll buy you a drink.

This is my 28th Michigan microbrewery review, and I travel for work and have reviewed microbreweries in IN, IL, TN, VA, and WI. I also know that there are too many places that can both make good beer, and be accommodating, to worry about those that can't, or won't. I arrived by bike and found no bike rack at this strip mall location. The interior was dark, and had a feel like a former generic Italian restaurant. I ordered the Feeling Smiley IPA, which has an outstanding "fruit-forward" hopiness, as advertised, as well as a nice balance, and I do recommend it. Go ahead and stop by, get a Feeling Smiley, outside and count cars in Papa John's parking lot or chat up people buying insurance next door.

We live in Saline, and this was our first visit. Each of us enjoyed selecting a flight of four beers, and we ordered in a pizza from our local favorite shop (the pub encourages doing this and has a collection of menus on hand.) High quality, interesting, distinctive range of well-crafted beer, welcoming casual atmosphere, a chance to design your own dining experience: what's not to like? We'll be back.

This place is awesome!! I wasnt much of a beer craft beer guy but this place changed that for me. I tried all of their beers and loved them all except 1. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. Keep up the good work Stony!

While perhaps unfair to make this my first point: The music is consistently near exactly my taste here. I love that. Now, more fairly, all the brews are high quality, the staff and owners cool people. Probably not the best place to meet new people, as I may be the ONLY person to enter alone. Nothing in Saline is good for meeting people, though. Go to Ann Arbor for that. To have a wonderful place to hang out - especially around Saline - this cannot be remotely competed with.

Great drinks! A wide selection of house made beer and cider. As a beer drinker,I have had almost everything on tap and haven't been disappointed yet. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. No food served, however, they encourage bringing in food from other places. If your in the area and want locally made beer, this place is a must!

Flights are reasonably priced and the beer is solid. God's Wrath at 13.2% tastes great without being overpowered by the alcohol content. The ESB was also fantastic. Atmosphere was plain but enjoyable. Sounds like trivia will be coming here very soon. Only food offered is chips and popcorn for 75c but outside food is allowed. Owners are knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend stopping in.

The best beer in Washtemaw County! Cool atmosphere, not pretentious. Food is from other local restaurants including Smoke BBQ. You can order delivery from local restaurants.

Best brewery in Saline, has a good selection of beer, wine and cider. The beer is always very good representations of the style of beer being brewed. Note, this brewery DOES NOT HAVE FOOD, but you are free to bring in anything you want! Fire up the crockpot, order pizza from next door, nachos form Cancun are our favorite or burgers and wraps from across the street at The Saline Inn. Options are endless and the beer is great!

First off, I am not a beer drinker....what was I doing here then, right?! My boyfriend is the beer drinker, and I do like cider. We live in town and decided to give it a try (was scared after trying the other new brewery in town, which was not our kind of gig AT ALL) This place was a pleasant surprise! Cool atmosphere, the cider was great, my bf liked all the beers he tried (especially the breakfast one), no complaints there. Its great you can bring your own grub in and eat it. Nice pub like atmosphere. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the products sold.

This placing is turning into a nice neighborhood hang out for me. You can bring in whatever food you'd like since they don't have a kitchen. Solid beers on a rotating tap list. Flight options are available as well as growler fill ups. Looks like trivia and name that tune are making rounds. The atmosphere is a little sparse but everyone is friendly and welcoming and I've never felt weird going in by myself.

My husband and I like this brewery a lot. We enjoy trying new craft beers but we're not beer snobs and luckly this place isn't pretentious at all. You can bring/order food while you're there, we sometimes play games or cards. The ciders aren't bad either if you like sweet drinks :)

This place might as well be self serve the service is so bad. Sitting at the bar ignored by the owner bartender for the last 15 minutes. The beer here is actually pretty good, but this is ridiculous. Looking like I will pass on this place in the future in favor or Dan's or OG.

Humble small town brewery with better than above average beer. Don't bother with the other Brewery in Saline - get your favorite carry out and head to stony lake!

This newer local brewery has great beer! The couple that owns and brews all of the beer are as friendly as the pub itself. It has a "Cheers-like" atmosphere. And you can actually hear your friends - no blaring music. Some see no food service as a negative, when I actually see it better to be able to bring your own favs. They now have outdoor seating. Come try it for yourself...and don't be surprised if you leave with a growler.

Great beer - interesting variety. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly; we normally come in the early evening and bring our kids and a pizza (or whatever other carryout food strikes our fancy). The owners and staff are all very nice. We have visited over a dozen other breweries in Michigan, and this has some of the better beers we had - we are lucky to have this so close by!

Tasty craft brews at a reasonable price provided by friendly staff. Had 2 flights of beer (4- 3oz glasses per flight) to sample most of their brews. I would drink all but the Saison again as a full glass. The place is clean and comfortably stylish in simple rustic way. The atmosphere was quiet with a nice soundtrack of easy going country rock (Eagles, Allman Bros., etc) playing in the background from about 5-6pm on Friday. Around 6pm parents with young children in tow (infant - 3yo) started to fill the place and probably accounted for 50% of the customers by the time I left around 6:30pm. Although the kids were well-behaved for the most part, drinking beer in a day care center on a Friday after work is not for me. A couple more visits will indicate whether this was a one-time thing or a regular occurrence. If not a regular occurrence, then I can up my rating.
