The Best Restaurants in Bellingham, Washington | Eater Seattle

"Some of the best Italian food in town can be found at Storia Cucina, a cheerfully modern spot serving lunch, dinner, and a truly spectacular brunch on the weekends. Start with arancini and an Aperol spritz or one of the bar’s original cocktails, move on to the squid ink pasta with seafood or a sourdough pizza with seasonal vegetables, then finish with tiramisu and an Italian digestif." - Jessamyn Tuttle

Google
Honestly, pretty mediocre on all fronts. Drinks were standard price but somewhat diluted / sugar heavy. Pasta was rough in texture and wet-drenched in oil. Pizza was quite greasy for its intended style and cheese tasted cheap to me. Really friendly service workers - excellent on that front! For this price I’d expect better quality on the food/drink front.

Google
Delicious brunch! I had the Gnocchi & Eggs, and my husband had the Eggs in Purgatory—both were excellent. For dessert, I enjoyed an affogato, while my husband had the Chocolate Panna Cotta. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented.

Google
My friends love the sour dough pizza here. I enjoyed it. The air conditioning for the kitchen hit our table and was quite cold. We requested they turn the fan down a little. They said they would not as it would inconvenience thier staff

Google
REALLY expensive. Mostly very very good. Brussels sprouts delish. I had an order of meatballs that were very flavorful but too salty. Do not order fountain soda. Very syrupy with not enough charge, even after a re-do. Atmosphere: the typical difficulty hearing ANYONE at the table due to the lack of attention to acoustics.

Google
My wife and I stopped here for dinner and were not disappointed! We tried the Arancini, Cicotti Meatballs, Cacio e Pepe, Lumache Pomodoroand the garlic knots. Yeah, we overdid it but it was all excellent. Lots of people claim to make great Italian dishes but don't produce. This place does. Everything was excellent, our server Kaya made some great suggestions and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Will definately stop here again!

Google
Great spot for dinner in Bellingham. Always quality food and great drinks. If it’s too busy go grab a spritz at their sister restaurant down the street while you wait for a table.

Google
We arrived hungry and ready to eat. It took 40 minuets to get our appetizers which were mediocre and another hour after that before the main dishes were served, one of which was cold. The restaurant was only at about 50% capacity and it was a Tuesday. All the food looked and tasted like something I could have made at home for less than nine dollars. The staff was sort of apologetic about the delay of food, but not enough to offer appetizers on the house for the wait and the cold food. The waiter had white shoes that were nasty filthy- like he just tended to a heard of cattle at the dude ranch. Overall, the wait was 1.5 hours for mediocre food and mediocre service. Won’t be back.

Google
My daughter and I came here for a night cap & a little bit to eat. We sat outside which very nice and cozy. The only issue was it felt like we were forgotten. We were not the only folks outside either. There were several couples out side with us. The food was good the place was clean. The ice cream was so delicious 😋 it had olive oil on it. If you haven’t trying it here definitely do!

Yelp
Consistently good food. This is one of the few places I recommend to visitors. Bellingham is surprisingly short of good restaurants, but this is one of the best in town. Wonderful Arancini, pillowy focaccia, good drinks, one of the only places with decent service.

Yelp
I asked barkeeps, Jaime and Maddie, what I should do? They delighted my evening with a beautiful cocktail--I can't find the menu online, but I think it was called the Green Aisles. The menu lists ingredients starting with something pineapple-y, but that doesn't do this exquisite and delicious drink credit as it is mouth-fillingly lovely, subtle and filled with complex flavors. I had two of the specials and loved them equally: I don't get all hung up on this red-vs-white-with-meals thing and so a recommended warm and gentle Montepulciano was a perfect accompaniment for the Winter Pear Frisee--a lovely and flavorful salad of (guess what?!?) frisée and (drum roll!!!) pear. The frisee was lovely and crisp as was the pear cut into large, lengthwise thin slices. (At first, I didn't recognize it as pear!) The dressing was so nice and there were several fun things in the salad, the highpoint to me being pomegranate seeds. My next plate was the Sautéed Calamari. It was sautéed beautifully with various flavorings (garlic, capers, lemon, chili--not so much as I could tell, salsa verde (is that what that was? It was divine!), mint (who, but a bold chef would think to do that!?! Brilliant!) and little toasted crostini on the side. Lovely meal, fun place, helpful and engaging staff...

Yelp
Honestly this restaurants overall rating doesn't match its appeal. The ambiance is modern with cozy lighting and warm tones, however it's completely underwhelming. I can understand why a lot of people would like Storia Cucina but it's really not worth the attention, as it's a basic restaurant you can find anywhere in Seattle (nothing special). As of the food.. I waited 45 minutes for my meal which isn't bad but upon arrival it was cold to the touch. With that being said I ordered cappuccino and was asked what I meant when I asked for it to be wet, this isn't a coffee shop nor does it claim to have good coffee but my cappuccino ended being extremely cold and disgusting. I think a part of this is the lack of care from the staff, I saw my cappuccino sitting on bar for over 10 minutes. You're better off somewhere else as storia cucina isn't anything special but an embarrassment.

Yelp
Enjoyed the ambiance/decor. It reminded me of an industrial area in San Francisco. Squid ink pasta with shrimp and claims - It wasn't bad. The noodle could be more al dente and to have more garlic flavor. Otherwise, it wasn't bad. Mac and cheese - kid size portion and pasta shells was good Pizza - mushroom pizza - pretty good

Yelp
This place was Ah-mazing! Almost didn't go but glad we did! We dropped in for happy hour. Their bread is so soft and lovely with the balsalmic and olive oil! We got the pizza, clams, and pasta. Lots of carbs but it hit the spot! We will be back. I usually have photos but none to contribute because we ate it all up!

Yelp
Cute restaurant that is conveniently located in downtown. Would say the food was good but a tad salty. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked and I liked the bits of pancetta. The papperdelle also had a nice bite to the noodles. Meatballs were just okay for me--I'd pass on those next time.

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary at Storia Cucina and had a great time! We arrived around 6pm with no reservation, the wait time was about 20-30 minutes. However, we were able to sit at the bar and order appetizers and drinks while we waited! For appetizers we tried the artichokes and the burrata. The burrata with focaccia was absolutely delicious and we devoured every bite. After about 20 minutes we were seated at a table, where we then ordered our mains. We ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese and Cacio e Pepe, respectively. The food was delicious and the servings were generous. I ended up taking about half of my pasta for leftovers. The restaurant itself is beautiful with tall ceilings and fun artwork. Overall, we throughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be returning to Storia Cucina.

Yelp
We went to Storia Cucina after seeing a show at the Mt Baker Theater and we were seated quickly (not the case when we tried before the show). The space is darling: intimate, cozy, and clean. We ordered the Pizza Salsiccia and drinks (Lou Sassone and The Godfather -- both variants of an old fashioned). The drinks were both very well crafted. I prefer the Sassone, it's a bit smoother, more subtle notes. The pizza was great. The perfect level of spice. The crust was amazing. They use a 1971 sourdough starter for their breads and their crusts. It was damn good. We ordered a second pizza to heat up for breakfast: Pizza Bianca. This was just as good! It made an excellent breakfast pizza with eggs on the side. Speaking of breakfast, Storia Cucina does offer breakfast. I am enticed by their breakfast menu and would love to go back. Lastly, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert. It was good too. Well balanced and a nice texture. My husband is a bread pudding connoisseur and he gave it a thumbs-up.

Yelp
Love this place!! Planning on returning whenever we are in Bellingham. Got a Kale Caesar salad. Usually I prefer cooked kale but the combination and dressing made the Kale good. Still craving this salad. The croutons seemed like they were made in the restaurant. Forgot the pizza name but this was my boyfriends favorite. He ate 90% of this and loved it. Huge fan of how thin the pizza is and crust was yummy. Usually I need a bunch of cheese but the tomato sauce changed my mind on that! The cacio e pepe pasta was interesting. Never had noodles like that but definitely enjoyed how unique it is. It was so flavorful with a strong pepper taste. Added burruta and pancetta to it. Wouldn't be as good without it.

Yelp
Really nice and affordable Italian restaurant in Bellingham. The dining room has a very nice ambiance - very high ceilings and an open kitchen. Everything was delicious and fresh, especially the green goddess salad special! We didn't have any pizza but I saw it on several other tables and it looked great! Finished the meal with a double espresso that was phenomenal and still has me zigging 4 hours later as I write this :$

Yelp
My secret hidden gem (but well-known in the community) in Bellingham! Squid Ink Mezze Maniche: A Must-Try! The Squid Ink Mezze Maniche is amazing! The shrimp and clams are cooked perfectly, and the pasta is full of rich flavours. You have to try it! Prosciutto Di Parma Pizza: Pizza Perfection! This pizza is the best! The crust is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the prosciutto topping is delicious. Sauteed Calamari: Bursting with Flavor! The Sauteed Calamari is so tasty! It's packed with chilli, garlic, tomatoes, and more. In addition, it's affordable and worth every penny. Storia Cucina is the perfect place to go for delicious food. Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 4/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! (Highly recommend their meatballs) Price: $50-$100 USD for two (dinner) Presentation: 3/5 Parking: Paid Street Parking. Tips: * Consider going early or expect a wait. * Great atmosphere and have outdoor seating. * Ideal for small parties and offers remarkable meals. Would I Return: Yes ‍

Yelp
I came in for lunch on a Friday and was seated right away. It's a very pretty restaurant and parking was on the street. I ordered the cacio e pepe ($16) with pancetta (+$4) and it was good. We ordered the 1971 sourdough and oil/bread - I would have skipped and gotten the focaccia instead. I would come back to try their other pastas, or come for appetizers and drinks.

Yelp
What a joke of a place. Don't let these 5 star reviews fool you. We've decided to check out Storia Cucina earlier today because we've been trying to find new places to eat at, so after going through a list of restaurants that server pizza, I've stumbled upon Storia Cucina. After reading reviews I figured we would give it a shot since it had so many positive reviews. We've arrived at 6pm, ordered drinks and a pizza to share. As time went by, we started to get frustrated with the wait. Roughly 40 minutes later, server stopped by and we asked how come it was taking so long. Server was nice and apologetic and told us that our order is next and if he was in our shoes, he would wait because it would be worth it. Long story short, a few minutes later our pizza finally makes its appearance. While frustrated, we decided to give it a shot and see if all that wait was worth it. It was not. As soon as I picked my slice and tried bringing it to my plate, half of its filling literally just fell all over the table. It wasn't fully cooked- crust (if you could even call it that) was just as wet as a noodle, very greasy and wet. Kind of made us feel as if pizza was rushed since we've waited for so long and was just brought it out to us. And this wasn't it, as I've tried moving the slice onto my plate, I noticed someone else's hair in it. That killed our appetite and that was it. Thankfully we didn't have to spend a dime and they covered our cost for a rather disappointing pizza, but we still wasted an hour of our time. Server did tell us that they only have one oven and the owner does keep on putting seats for people hence why it took so long. When we arrived, inside was nearly full and loud so we sat outside, for that matter. Either way, this was our first and most definitely our last trip to Storia Cucina. Owner should pull his head out of his ass and worry more of a quality of food and less about putting more seats, so people don't wait forever for their food. Very disappointing.

Yelp
We stopped at Storia Cucina for lunch on a sunny Saturday. Decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The decor inside was really nice. Easy for a date night without being too formal. Anyway we had a pleasant experience. Our server was friendly and prompt with bringing us everything we needed. We both ordered pasta and it was fabulous. Fresh and just really enjoyable. Finished with the bread pudding made with their sourdough starter. Just truly excellent all around.

Yelp
Returned with a big party this time and Storia Cucina did not disappoint! The manager was gracious enough to allows us to make a reservation for group of 9 even though they usually have 10 min. They accidentally gave us margarita pizza instead of marinara so one of the cooks was nice enough to give an additional marinara in the house. Honestly the marinara pizza was much better - you could taste the spices in the sauce so well and it wasn't over powered by the cheese. The portion of the risotto was kind of small, pomodoro seemed larger. The service is always so great here and the place is packed with people, foods, and just a good time. No background music so all you hear is the people chatter. Love the ambiance of the place. Parking is free after six pl in a nearby garage or you can street park. Thanks for another wonderful evening Storia Cucina!

Yelp
The pizza is really good if you like thin crusted pizza. They make everything from scratch so the quality is great and you can tell. The overall vibe of the restaurant is also really nice, very chill ambiance with nice lighting and not too loud. Service was also great, they brooch out a wrong pizza and were more than happy to replace it for us. Only issue was parking, but the courthouse is not too far away and is relatively cheap.

Yelp
Fabulous food and so many selections. Some of the best food I have had. If you are bothered by a loud environment (high ceilings without sound softening panels), this might not be the best. It's tough to hear and have a conversation. The only reason for a 4* vs 5 is the acoustics for me.

Yelp
I am giving this restaurant 5 stars mostly because of how much I appreciate everyone for working inside a restaurant without AC. I was seated around 8pm and it must have still been at least 25C inside because every staff member I saw looked tired and sweaty. But none of them let the poor working conditions affect their attitude toward the costumers because the service I received was excellent. Food wise I thought there was still room for improvement, but overall I enjoyed all the dishes and would return again for more. Here's what I ordered: 1. Little Gem Salad: I appreciated the frozen grapes and crushed pistachio, but man, was the dish SALTY! I'm not sure if the salt was from the dressing or the cheese, but it was inedible and our waitress kindly took it away. 2. Strawberry Panzanella Salad: After our waitress took away the previous salad, she recommended this salad instead and it was DELICIOUS! The burrata tasted so light and fresh, and the sweetness of the strawberries really gave the dish the summer vibe. 3. Arancini: I had no idea what I was ordering but I kept seeing pictures of this dish online so there must've been a reason. It did not disappoint! The outside was crispy and the inside was gooey. 100% would order again. 4. Pappardelle Bolognese: I absolutely loved the sauce! The only thing I would ask the kitchen to improve is to separate the pasta better when boiling because some pieces were stuck together making it undercooked.

Yelp
The quality of this place is unreal. Officially my favorite Italian restaurant in Whatcom County. The cacio e pepe is the BEST. And the Arancini are to die for. Very worth the value, I HIGHLY recommend.

Yelp
We had a great experience and delicious food. We came at 8pm on a Monday night and it was still a wait. We had minors with us and it was cold so we had to wait in the car as there is not enough room to wait inside. They texted us, it was roughly 15 min wait. The food was local and fresh and full of flavor. We had the mushroom pizza which was really delicious. Also ordered the bolognese pasta. The focaccia bread to start was really good. The desert was bread pudding which was very rich. The drinks at the bar looked fun. Only complaint is the wine was all Italian and I prefer local WA wine only, but what I ordered was fine. The service was good even though it was crazy busy. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Went here during Brunch on a weekend. There wasn't any wait and the staff was very friendly. We had the Buongiorno Pizza and did a flight of the Amari. We ended the meal with a Chocolate Panna Cotta, which was the highlight of the meal. The place is very peaceful and casual. It's definitely worth trying it out.
google avatar

Yelp
The best mushroom risotto I've had. It was delicate, earthy, and creamy. And not made with chicken stock! Yay for those of us who don't eat meat. My guy had the puttanesca which was spicy and lovely. The portions are appropriate and enough to fill you. Spicy cauliflower appetizer was great as well. Yum all around.

Yelp
We took our office out to lunch last Friday at Astoria Cucina and everyone loved the place. Keely (hopefully I spelled it right) was fantastic, she was on top of everyone's orders and making sure everyone was taken care of, amazing service! The place is very inviting and everything was delicious, no complaints from a group of ten us, that's pretty damn good. Thanks!
google avatar

Yelp
Cocktails are great and sitting at the bar is always fun. Food is decent, but some of the better Italian in Bellingham. Pizzas have good flavor. Pappardelle was well seasoned. Cacio y Pepe was a bit lacking luster, and odd w bucatini pasta as it held more water within the noodles? Maybe I'm the idiot as I'm writing that?? lol. Gem salad was money. Brussels are never bad. Had the asparagus seasonal soup and that was quite under seasoned but they get a new shot at that daily. Always check the specials board as the more unique items tend to come up there. Trad menu doesn't change,

Yelp
Fabulous place for a late lunch on a rainy weekday. We arrived around 2PM on a Monday and there were a smattering of folks at the bar and tables. We were invited to sit wherever we wanted in the lofty space and chose a two-top near the open kitchen. Taking in the space, I noticed the large scale mural and the series of photos featuring an adorable child making and eating pasta. Our server appeared immediately to set our table and bring water. After looking at the menu and specials, we decided to order a beet panzanella salad, Arancini, Taylor Shellfish clams and a Pizza Salsiccia. I had a homemade ginger thyme lime soda which had a garnish of candied ginger and dried lime. All of the food was delicious, and I can check myself on that when the spouse deigns to eat a "crouton" (perhaps needless to say panzanella was not in his repertoire). Their bread, in panzanella and fresh as part of the juicy steamed clams is a star. Three perfect Arancini in a light, fresh marinara with just a little ooze of fontina. The pizza was the spouse's domain, but I had a nibble and concurred with his satisfaction. We lingered over excellent espresso in beautiful hand made cups. Extra points for the bartender warming the side of cream we requested. An appreciated touch!

Yelp
Excellent Italian food served with class. This place has become my favorite Italian food in Bellingham. Fresh flavors, detailed execution of dishes and a wonderful environment teamed with service makes me want to come back again and try more dishes.

Yelp
Good atmosphere. Pizza was a little burnt. Excellent salad. Really liked and will return. Across the street from spincycle yarns

Yelp
We walked around downtown Bellingham, WA, trying to look for a place to dine. We came across this place that served cacha e peppe pasta. The last time I had cacha e peppe was in Rome last year. I could still taste it from memory. Well, guess what! This place had it! Their cacha e peppe was delicious! Not only that, their afogado was fantastic, along with their tiramisu! Their tiramisu was served in a container like in Rome, so light and fluffy. Oh so spectacular! The worst part was I didn't take enough photos! If looking for great Italian food, go to Storia Cucina!

Yelp
Just got home from a nice dinner at Storia. I'm saying nice, because it was with my family, and I enjoy spending time with them. Otherwise everything else was meh. Usually I like to elaborate on the my experience more and the food, but tonight was just okay. Nothing "wowed" any of us...at all. The service itself was very lack luster. Except for the hostess, who seemed like she wanted to be there. Otherwise our server was non existent, except to take our order and bring the bill. During our entire meal we were never checked in on for drink refills or anything else. The food itself was very consistent with previous times we've been to the restaurant. Nothing super fancy. Just basic Italian fare. We'll probably go back with friends again. I'm hoping for better service though. This was some of the worst I've ever had in Bellingham, and not what I'd expect from this establishment.

Yelp
What a great Italian restaurant! There is a reason it pops up first when you search for Italian food in Bellingham. We were blown away by the friendly and energetic service, great recommendations and regular check ins by the staff. The cocktails were strong and creative - sweet pea infused gin? Uh yes! We would come back just for drinks! The food tho - another reason to make this a regular stop. The salad was refreshing and the lemon Caesar vinaigrette was tasty. The focaccia was soft with a good sprinkling of salt and herbs. Each pasta dish was substantial, definitely enough to share. My husband kept stealing pieces of the pancetta added to my cacio e pepe. His parpadelle bolognese was full of meat and tomatoes. And as other yelpers have said, we vote to add burrata to at least a couple dishes. Super creamy and fresh! The restaurant is modern, high energy, with a cool mural on the wall featuring some of their featured dishes, and the bar area walls stacked with all the great bottles that make up their awesome cocktails. Great place for dinner and drinks!

Yelp
I had been to this restaurant before about 8 months ago and the food was absolutely outstanding as well as the service. However this time upon arriving we walked through the door. No one was around so we walked around a bit and looked at tables and the space. We were then greeted by a bartender whom seemed flustered we were there at all. He then told us go back up to the host stand and wait to be seated by someone. There was 2 other tables of two people in the establishment and then sat us directly behind the host stand we were standing at. The table we were seated at had crumbs and dried up marinara on it that i quickly swept off so my date would not see it. We soon after being sat were greeted by a very bland borderline snotty waitress that seemed as annoyed as everyones presence as the bartender. We then proceeded to order the same menu items we had previously had here. There was no balsamic and oil on the table as almost every Italian restaurant has.The fried cauliflower came out burnt. The waitress herself told us that it was burnt and if we didn't want it she would get us a new one which we promptly did. This time is was served in a mini side bowl amounting to about 4 oz of Cauliflower when in the past it was served in a full size round pasta bowl and was about 9 oz. It had absolutely no butter like last time and was completely devoid of flavor and seasoning. Next was the focaccia and burrata. It used to be pillowy, have large dishes of sauce and this time the yeast did not activate or something and they gave up and baked it anyways. It was flat. Tasted of flour entirely. Barely any herbs or flavor. Half of it was burnt as well which she brought us more bread for as well.It is clear they have fired there executive chef or he has moved on. The kitchen and line looked as if it was ran by confused high-school students. As we sat they carried various containers of food through the restaurant out the front door one after another as well as prepped food coming in. Where are they prepping? Next we ordered the salcissia pizza with arugula as and add on. I then received a pizza a little close to the standard of what was upheld before other than cooking the pizza with arugula as any normal chef would i got an giant fist full of arugula uncooked on top of a pizza.pic below. I then ordered paperdelle bolognese for my lady. They noodles were mushy and over cooked as well as extremely floury. There was barely any sauce and was the equivalent to rolling pinned bread strips with canned marinara. This place has drastically declined very quickly and i hope the ownership is taking note. Hiring highschoolers to run your restaurant and grouchy old waitresses is not a safe and stable business plan. All in all we wont be back till something changes and they get people who actually know how to run a line again without burning everything and have kind hospitable waitresses and bartenders. This is the hospitality industry. Btw there was no wait to be seated or seat yourself sign.

Yelp
The spagnolo is my favorite drink on the planet. Sometimes I got just to get that. The food is also amazing.highly recommend any pasta dish or a cheese pizza. The clams are great with bread as well

Yelp
Reliable Italian with a la Dente pasta, thin crust pizza, and delicious cocktails. Try the arancini, artichoke salad, bobolini ( if you go at brunch, and the Amaro flight.

Sadie R.

Yelp
The generic artwork detracts from the artful variety of cocktails and delicious, semi-local food. A disdainful host greeted us, that blustery Friday night, though the mushroom risotto and garlic knots redeemed the cold welcome. I wish there was a warm place to stand and wait for a table in the winter.

Yelp
We were on the hunt for a good Italian. We found it. While the menu is short, the flavor and quality are deep. Outdoor seating. Great service (hope your get Maddie). My wife requires gluten free options. They have those (mains and desserts). We each got the Pappardelle Bolognese (she got the house made GF pasta). My daughter had the Cacio e Pepe. All were excellent!!!! And, there is a lot to either eat or take home. For dessert, my wife had the Lemon Sorbetto and I shared a tiramisu with the girl. All were great! Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Lara No N.

Yelp
I got the pappardelle bolognese! Wow it was good!! The service was great very nice very quick. It was busy so it was a little loud but overall very enjoyable.

Yelp
Believe the hype. I was looking for an alternative to my go-to Italian restaurant in Bellingham -- D'Anna's -- and Storia fit the bill. San Fran meets Bellingham in this chill, Pac NW establishment. Service is on point and the pizza is all time. I visited here two nights in a row when in town for business. Arancini is the perfect blend of cheesy/risotto to start out the meal. House salad and kale salads are perfectly blended. Order both to start out an Italian night of deliciousness. Try both the pepperoni and the mushroom pizzas. Both pizzas are unique -- pepperoni for you red wine drinkers, mushroom for bianco. Fun, hip, sexy, delicious, reasonably priced? When can I come again?!!

Yelp
Amazingly delicious food! Fun casual atmosphere and friendly awesome staff. My sister and I came in for Friday night dinner, there was about a 30 minute wait which is easy peasy, we went down the road for a pre dinner drink, got a text when our table was ready and came on back. We ordered the pappardelle bolognese, cacio e Pepe, focaccia, and shared it all family style. It was amazing! My sister who loves garlic was very pleased with the bolognese, the cacio e Pepe was so good. It was delicious and fun, we were making rather expressive yum faces, and my sister is now trying to plan another evening back.

Yelp
So I searched yelp for a local restaurant when I got into town ( late my time so I just wanted to grab some food to go back to my hotel room rather than eating the restaurant). I ordered the Bolognese have a nice comforting meal, I have to say it was wonderful flavors of the pork and beef very meaty and the sauce was great. You can see a nice size serving The Bolognese noodles were cooked perfectly even for takeout. I did get a local fresh garden salad on the side the dressing on that was fantastic. I did go in and pick it up and waited a few minutes the restaurant itself is small with nice ambiance, I'll be spending time here in town so I'll definitely go back and eat in! Staff was very nice and accommodating great spot in the downtown area

Yelp
I checked out Storia Cucina a few weeks ago and was not disappointed! We randomly decided to try a new place and Italian sounded good, so we decided to do a Sunday lunch there. The ambiance of the restaurant is peaceful and casual, but still date-worthy. We were seated quickly and had an attentive server for the duration of our stay. We ordered the foccacia for an appetizer and, although it was a little oily for our taste, the burrata and marinara made up for it. The creaminess of the burrata was perfect and I regretted not ordering it with my actual entree. I ordered the bolognese and my husband got the cacio e pepe with pancetta. Both portions were pretty large and were absolutely delicious. The leftovers even heated up really well the next day. Will definitely be coming back here! Pro tip: Order the burrata with everything. You can't go wrong.

Yelp
My first impression of Storia Cucina was via phone and unfortunately it wasn't a good one. Their website and their answering machine ask you to order via online otherwise to call or stay on the line to order with a team member. I called 5-6 times and never once did someone answer. I thought, 'it must be busy!' I really wasn't looking forward to waiting 20-30 minutes in the restaurant for my food to be made but they were busy, so I assumed. The service inside was good, not great. I did end up waiting about 30 minutes roughly for my order. I noticed several employees walking around sometimes even just 'hanging out' so I'm not sure why my phone call was never answered. They seemed pretty staffed and capable. The food was great! I don't know if I'd go back due to their service though. Customer service really affects my outlook on a business! The meatballs were my absolute favorite!! If I were to go back it would definitely be for that!

Yelp
The hubby and I enjoyed a quick meal during (mostly) their happy hour ahead of a show at the Mt. Baker Theater around the corner. Our server was personable and attentive. The space is attractive with a cute parklet expansion that looked warm and happy too. The house red was quite good & a great deal at $5 for a generous pour. I had to try their Negroni too, and at $7 this may become my go-to pre-event cocktail. We shared the margherita pizza and the clam antipasti (not part of HH). Fortunately it comes with nice, crusty bread so one can soak up the delicious, well seasoned broth it came with. One star off for not removing the 2 unopened clams since those can be nasty- one was a true "mudder". There are plenty of things left we want to try, so we will return when an Italian craving hits!

Yelp
The food was excellent and the service was good. I would definitely recommend this place. Pizza crust was really good which made for a great pizza. Try it!

Yelp
This is one of the best pizza places that I've been to compared to other places that I've enjoyed in New York City, Chicago, St Louis, Portland and Minneapolis

Yelp
I love this place! I crave their pasta. I love that you can see into the kitchen. The servers have always been super friendly. I always have kids with me, and they are always treated kindly. The only cons I've noted is that the wait for a table can be long for dinner at peak hours. Also...I have ordered a few cocktails from their specials and I've yet to have one I liked. But I also like fruity, sweet drinks. Whatever you get, add pancetta. My personal favorite is the cacio de pepe - but the mushroom gnocchi was also great (it was a special.)

Yelp
Soria is standalone when it comes to eateries in Bellingham. We love everything on the menu and the bartenders are mixologist. Soups are always so great. But do not leave without taking a pizza home or tomorrow. The food is phenomenal.

Yelp
First off, the ambiance of Storia is quite lovely. It feels cozy, yet roomy and the lighting is soft and inviting. I love the vibe there. The staff always seem to be quite knowledgeable with the menu and food that's being served. Having staff that know the product and that are able to answer questions about it is very nice. Saving the best for last of course....the food! There is no other Italian food restaurant in Whatcom, Skagit or Snohomish county I'd rather eat at than Storia Cucina.

Yelp
Dropped in for a quick gin & tonic before a Vivaldi concert at the Mt. Baker Theatre. Excellent bar, love the ladder. The bartender was very busy but still found a few moments to banter. It was close to her quitting time... almost convinced her to attend the concert, too. I will be back to sample the cuisine. I like the look of the menu.
