We visited this cozy Italian café, where I came for a cold brew, and my partner--whose relationship with caffeine is in the realms of 'please let me sleep so I can stay alive'--went with pistachio & milk ~Fior di Pistachio~. Yes, pistachio & milk. Because apparently, we're living in a world where nuts are better with milk.
I ordered the cold brew because I like my coffee the way I like my Wi-Fi: fast and life-changing. It was smooth, refreshing, and had just the right amount of caffeine to get me buzzing--I felt like I could fight through the Sunday Costco crowds to get to my fresh fruits. It was, dare I say, ~pleasant~ and empowering (?).
Then there's my partner. Bless his caffeine-sensitive heart. While I was amid my cold brew-fueled delusions, he decided to keep things light with pistachio & milk. He was blissfully unaware that real coffee drinkers were around him, but I like his confidence and boldness (?) in not ordering coffee or tea at the cafe (yes, love, you fight the overpowered caffeine industry, you got this, I will support your endeavors but I'll still drink coffee). But to be fair, pistachio milk looked oddly sophisticated, like the kind of drink that would fit a Victorian saloon where you discuss classical music while wearing silk gloves, not to leave your fingerprints where you will then commit your crimes... err at classy soriées (it was very good; I had some). But the best part? My partner took a sip and looked at me with a face that said, "It's so pleasant, I want to bathe in it." well, I'm not sure he wanted to bathe in it. He told me, "It's nice." he has such a way with words (:p). Meanwhile, I was over here vibrating, image training, and fully prepared to fight for parking at Costco.
This café has something for everyone: caffeinated cold brew for the chaotic and pistachio & milk for those who want to just vibe.
