My visit included being part of the church community and ceremony. It was a great experience. As an English speaker, they gave me a brochure that guided me through the process. I was welcome to the communion too. Great people and amazing church experience. The facade of church is Italian baroque, interior is french gothic style. Mesmerizing ❤️

Well I was sceptical about St George slaying the Dragon until I saw the definitive proof in the sculpture of the incident in Stockholm’s medieval Cathedral. A beautiful rich in history building dating from 1279. It is home to other unique objects including the legendary Vädersoltavlan (1535). and Lena Lervik’s sculpture ”Joseph and Mary” (2002).

I was here at the end of program. The entrance fee is 70SEK. On the outside the church impresses by its size. On the inside is very spectacular. The gigantic paintings, the statue of saint George and the construction itself left me speechless.

Definitely worth a visit, there are many helpful signs all around with details of the historical importance of this beautiful Cathedral. Unfortunately I came at nearly closing time at 5pm so couldn't listen to the audio guide.

Storkyrkan, also known as Stockholm Cathedral, is a breathtaking and historic gem located in the heart of Gamla Stan. As the oldest church in Stockholm, dating back to the 13th century, it is an essential stop for history buffs, architecture lovers, and anyone interested in Swedish culture. The cathedral’s Gothic-style exterior might appear modest at first glance, but once inside, you’re greeted with a stunning blend of medieval and Baroque elements. The grand interior is filled with light from tall stained-glass windows, and the vaulted ceilings give the space a feeling of awe and reverence. One of the highlights of Storkyrkan is the famous wooden statue of Saint George and the Dragon, a magnificent 15th-century masterpiece that represents the Swedish victory over Denmark. The attention to detail and craftsmanship of this sculpture is incredible. Additionally, the cathedral is home to several beautiful paintings, including the oldest known image of Stockholm.

I visited this cathedral during Christmas season. There was a Christmas market set up just outside, and it was a great (although crowded!) time. There was also a chamber orchestra and choir Christmas concert, and it was such a lovely time.

A stunning cathedral located just beside the palace. A piece of art with intricate architecture. A fee is required to enter.

St. Nicholas' Church is a place with a unique atmosphere, rich history and beautiful architecture. I definitely recommend visiting it!

Yelp
It was an interesting church to visit, mostly because of the Gothic style decor. The altar area was adorned in black and silver, rather than the traditional gold. I was a bit disappointed by the entrance fee. I understand having to make money, but I would have preferred to make a donation of my own choosing. Once you bought an entrance fee for the day, though, you could come back as many times as you wanted throughout the day. One treat was the organ player was there while we happened to be walking around, so we got to listen to some music as well.

Yelp
Very nice church to come visit in the Gamla Stan section of Stockholm. It's one of the oldest churches in the city and it's located right outside the main square. There is an admission to see the church of SEK 60 but it's included in the city pass. Worth a visit and recommended.

Yelp
Cool for being a moderate-sized cathedral. Pretty good organs. We walked in on a wedding in process. Well worth visiting with the Stockholm Card. Times visited: 1

Yelp
Great piece of artwork. Some of the Swedish royals were married here. Nice art work inside. When you walk in they ask you to "donate" the admission fees. The insides are kept clean and well maintained. The entire visit shouldn't take more than 30 - 40 minutes and is right in the center of Gamla Stan.
