The Best and Hottest New Burgers to Try in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"A few blocks away from the bustling Centinela and La Brea Avenue corridor is Storm Burger. The busy drive-thru and sit-down spot took the area by (sorry) storm in 2023. Just look for the signature red, white, and blue sign, plus the queue of regulars taking in the Inglewood restaurant. Breakfast sandwiches are also available from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Get the burger combo that includes a drink, French fries, or onion rings. The latter are some of the best in the region. Mona Holmes, editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest Know before you go: Storm Burger sometimes partners with other South LA restaurants. More recently, with the popular Tev’s Kitchen. Check Storm Burger’s Instagram to confirm who is up at bat." - Rebecca Roland

We visited StormBurger for lunch on August 26, 2025, with my wife, my two daughters, and my son. We ordered a meal that turned out to be the best burger we had during our visit to Los Angeles. The service was excellent, the food had a unique and delicious flavor, the place was 100% clean, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great and memorable burger experience.

Google
Burgers were fantastic! We saw this place recommended on a YouTube channel and it didn’t disappoint. We had the classic and the double with fries and onion rings. Try out the apricot habanero sauce. It changes the whole burger. We’ll definitely be back for another.

Google
Let me say this the best burger I’ve had in many years as far as quality and taste bun soft smash burger was amazingly good not salty over seasoned nothing you got the good beef taste delicious chicken tenders were juicy tender I haven’t had that good quality of chicken in a long while definitely fresh not frozen as well overall 8/10

Google
Went here on the way to Intuit Dome. Less than 10min away. Got the western burger, fries, spicy chicken sandwich. Chicken sandwich was just ok, but the burger and fries were great! Highly recommend! I can't wait to go back! No seating. Just good food.

Google
Line moved quick, food was really good. Spicy chicken is spicy!! French fries are up there with the best! - I did bring my dog who was equally impressed. The to-go bag is very thick, which is great! I didn’t know I cared about that, but I do, and it was.

Google
I was invited back for round two from the owner. Guess what? The hype was real .🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I am rewriting this review to say that in addition to the first experience. The second experience was just as consistent , if not even better. I highly recommend trying this location out. You will be dying to come back. Take it from someone who has travelled the world doing reviews. This place is a hidden gem and it needs to be discovered. Keep up the good work. As a Food Critic and Chef, I know what quality is. These individuals are doing something great. Five Star Review 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Google
Read about this being one of the top Burger spots in LA and did not disappoint. Had the double cheeseburger with the storm sauce and the homemade onion rings 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯

Google
I haven’t eaten beef in a WHILE but wanted to try the limited time Tev’s burger. It was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥This place knows how to cook a burger. The burgers were juicy, cheesy, and a moist bun. 🤌🏾 It was worth compromising my diet. 😆😋

Yelp
Wow, stormburger's TURKEY Burger was impeccable mouth-watering delicious and gorgeously presented. The best I've ever eaten! Great people, great atmosphere and quality service. I would drive in a storm to get one of those.

Yelp
First time going to Storm Burger, and the food was AMAZING. But uber slow!!! I ordered the classic double burger, onion rings, and chicken strips. Everything was delicious, but the chicken strips were the BEST EVER. They were perfectly crispy, lightly salted on the outside, moist, and incredibly melted in my mouth -- I have no idea how they accomplished that, but the strips were truly the best ever. Better than Cane's, Chick-fil-hAte, or anything like them. The burger and onion rings were also very tasty, though a bit more average compared to other burger places. They're still worth a try though. The dipping sauces for the rings and chicken strips were okay, but the spicy mango sauce was surprisingly great! The ranch was like every other ranch sauce -- nothing special. As for the service and time to get my order, it was not a great experience. In fact, it was terrible! The drive-thru process took almost 30 minutes from arrival to receiving my food. I'm not sure why -- maybe it's their focus on food prep, or maybe it's just poor order management. Overall, the food is EPIC, but expect a very, very slow turnaround time. I'll be back when I have extra time to spare.

Yelp
While I was working on my friend's vehicle, she was looking for burger food places on yelp to try out. She found this place. So we went here. I ordered the jalapeño lightning burger meal, with fries, and Fruit Punch. She ordered the double classic storm burger meal, with onion rings, and peach tea. We shared fries and onion rings. So we can taste both. She loved all of her food. I loved all of my food. Especially the jalapeño burger. Omg. Delicious. The fries are nicely seasoned and not just some regular generic fries. Onion rings were good as well. Drive thru is was crowded with vehicles sticking out on the street . So we parked inside limited space parking lot and got out to order.

Yelp
We are newbie's here with the hamburger spots outside of the commercial brands! Service was effortless in the drive thru lane as we have seen long lines. Our timing was perfect as the line was short. We were handed a clean menu and being our first time, the server was patient while we went back and forth! I had the western bacon and it was hands down a winner for me! The fries are literally to die for! They remind me of a ff from back in the day. So crunchy good. My hubby had the double classic and he was veryyyy happy! After the pickup we went around the corner and car parked! Fun day date and hands down our new go to. Love supporting in the neighborhood. Ty StormBurger!

Yelp
Let me start by saying I wanted to like the turkey burger, because I like your chicken sandwich. I love a good turkey burger, but this one lacked any seasoning or flavor. I would been happy with some salt, and some crisp lettuce. The burger was bland just like the wilted lettuce. This was disappointing. Please add some seasoning to your turkey burger. I ordered it without cheese because I wanted to taste the true flavor of the turkey meat. Thank god I ordered barbecue sauce on the side because I needed that to dip the turkey burger in. The two stars are for the fries.
google avatar

Lea L.

Yelp
I came back and my sandwich was raw.. make sure to ask for well done. Not sure how they were raw they aren't huge patties. Ask for 'well done"
google avatar

George T.

Yelp
Had to update my review because they've stepped it up again. They added turkey burgers, and they're excellent. I've ordered before game days and they've never missed every order this year has been right. Still one of the best local burger spots.
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
This is one of the best California burgers I've had. Even though their patties are on the thicker side, it's not too much. The meat is seasoned perfectly, the cheese is oozing over and it has the right amount of condiments. The service is fast and friendly. But there's nowhere to sit so get it to go.

Yelp
Listen this place is delicious omg and they deliver well!!!! The green sauce is spicy and yummy their bbq burger is bomb too! Eat here so that they stay a business and I don't ever have to eat mediocre burgers elsewhere!! Bomb.com

Yelp
I pulled up to Storm Burger on a total whim I was hella hungry, just roaming L.A. tryna figure out what to eat. I was in that, "I could eat anything but nothing sounds right" type of mood? Yeah, that. Then good ole Yelp recommended/surprised me with Storm Burger! The name alone sounded like it meant business, so I slid through hoping I was in store for something smackin. Soon as I pulled up, I seen helllllaaa people at the drive through I was like nahh lemme grab a park and place an order at the window, cause this not a sit down and eat type place. You order and eat in your car. Soon as I walked up I felt the vibe, real chill, local, no extra fluff. Just straight to the point, which I respect. Customer service was on point, the lady was real chill. I ordered the Double Bacon Cheeseburger, fries, and washed it all down with a cold smooth Strawberry Fanta, a classic combo, no need to overthink it. That burger though? Tasted like L.A. in a bun. Juicy, crispy bacon stacked right, cheese just had that fresh off the grill melted cheese taste and texture. The patties had pure flavor. Bun was toasted just enough to hold it all together but still soft like a cloud. Fries? Golden and that slight crunch. And that strawberry Fanta? Had me humming that old school Jam "EveryBody Loves the Sunshine". Storm Burger really came through when I needed it most. Definitely one of those hidden L.A. gems that don't scream for attention but absolutely deserve it.

Yelp
I always enjoy the food, but today my DoorDash delivery order was absent one beverage, I tried to call to receive a resolution and the recorded message defers the customer to their website or YELP, so here I am. I didn't receive the chocolate shake (insert sad face here), communication regarding receiving what I've paid for or a credit is less than desirable.

Yelp
The race event wrapped up around 11 PM, and by the time we made it through the crowds, walked back to the car, and sat in traffic, most places were already closed--not ideal for a celebratory dinner. Honestly, I just wanted to get back to the hotel and eat something. I mentioned to my friends, "Let's just grab a burger somewhere," and a quick Yelp search pulled up Stormburger, just two miles away. When we got there, it was right around midnight. They had a drive-thru setup with reps standing outside to take orders, kind of like In-N-Out style. We went with the classic: four smash burgers, some chicken strips, chicken burgers, fries, and onion rings. Back at the hotel, I noticed they forgot the grilled onions on all our burgers but no big deal. The burger itself was mid--not amazing, but definitely satisfying after a long day. It totally beat going hungry, and honestly, for a fast food spot, it hit the spot better than McDonald's would've.
google avatar

Carol H.

Yelp
Best smash burger in town!!! Always made fresh when you order it, and the price point is great, not like other places that are very expensive. Lines are always lines, but surprisingly they go fast. I even get my dog a pup patty (no seasoning), and he LOVES it. My go to spot for a good burger !
google avatar

Franklin M.

Yelp
This corner restaurant used to occupy a Church's Chicken and now it's a popular drive thru burger restaurant. I had parked my car in their lot and thought I could go inside to eat in, but they only offer an outside standing area with a counter. The majority of customers use the drive thru. I ordered the Stormburger cheeseburger combo which comes with the usual fries and a fountain drink. The service is fast and the burger was delicious including those crispy fries.

Yelp
Tried this place on my lunch and I'm so glad I did. I always seen passing by and finally was able to stop by. Their restaurant is nice with outside seating only. The menu is really simple and nice to read and their prices are great. I got their classic storm burger combo being that it was my first time there I had to go with that. I honestly didn't know that they were smash burgers but they are. The burger is SUPER good with a great patty and their buns are awesome. The fries need their own section...Ok guys if you've ever had Popeyes French fries and Rally's fries, this is like if they had a baby. BOMB!!! Their fries are so damn good. I normally don't give a 5/5 because no place is perfect (not saying storm burgers perfect) but they definitely impressed me and going back again!
google avatar

Paulla L.

Yelp
I got a cheeseburger( smash burger) and onion rings. Both were delicious and perfectly seasoned. I've had the chicken sandwich in past visits; that was delicious as well. It's a walk up/ order to go. Drive thru available, parking is limited but not terrible. Customer service is great and patient. 10/10
google avatar

Shawn R.

Yelp
Great burgers and fries. Love the BBQ bacon burger, but the drive threw lines are always insane. Expect to wait 15 - 30min in line, it's insane!
google avatar

Shay A.

Yelp
Storm Burger blew me away! Honestly, it's better than In-N-Out and I don't say that lightly as an Angeleno who grew up on it. The burger was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and just downright delicious. The flavors were bold, well seasoned, the bun was soft but held up, and the toppings were fresh and generous. You can tell they put real care into what they're serving. Every bite was satisfying and way beyond what you'd expect from a "burger spot." I left already planning my next visit. If you're in town and craving a burger, skip the chains Storm Burger is on another level.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
The service here was fast. The onion rings were tasty and crispy and seasoned very well. The burger was well cooked and the bacon and fried onions made for a delicious combo. I also had a chocolate and vanilla milkshake to wash down the burger. I will definitely be back for a visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Great burger joint! Smashburger's on a sweet bun with great sauces and toppings. Very Well balanced. Great price too!! Milkshakes are super high quality. Not a big fan of their fries but all those sauces make up for it. SERVICE is OUTSTANDING, next level. Every time the person faking the order is super personable, and the people giving you the food as well. It's like chick fil a nice. Genuine. Welcoming. Makes you want com back just to talk. Haha. Love this place.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of those places where I can only eat it once a month. The burgers and fries always hit the spot late at night and thankfully they are open late. Whenever I'm in LA I have to get this place atleast once because it's walking distance from where we usually stay. I brought some friends over to try it as well and they enjoyed it up until the next morning. It definitely taste good but what it does to your stomach after is a whole different story. I would recommend the apricot sauce with anything you order because it is amazing. We ordered a lot and it came out within 5-10 minutes with a full drive through line. Parking is ample with a lot next to it and you can pull up to the order menu. Overall great smash burgers.
google avatar

Brionna K.

Yelp
Came here after going to the movies as it was on the way home. So we made a quick stop to the drive thru. This was our first time and the order taker Rafael was very patient and informative as we didn't know what was best to order. We ended up ordering a two combos with fries; smashburger and spicy chicken. I will say the burger was way better than the spicy chicken sandwich! Overall customer service was good and we did not have to wait long for our order.
google avatar

Jamie H.

Yelp
This was such a satisfying discovery. Met one of the owners of this place he was such an awesome individual. This is a drive thru joint but they have an area outside for eating along the front of the business. The price is reasonable and the burgers are delicious and juicy. I chose to get onion rings with my combo, and it was such a great choice. The onion rings are nicely battered, and so crunchy. But let me definitely put you on; the sauce is phenomenal. The apricot sauce; is sweet and definitely has a kick. But if you're a ranch lover, it is amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Picked up some breakfast today at storms. Got some sausage breakfast burgers which are always consistent and hits the spot! But I finally decided to try the beef "breakfast" burrito today? Not sure if it's exactly supposed to be breakfast but... yeaaaaaNooooooo. Nope. Not for me. It taste like if del taco were to step their game up by adding a bit more quality meat to their burritos and the addition of corn. That's right . So...just ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning, lettuce, tomato....no cheese. But yea....pass next time.
google avatar

Janae F.

Yelp
This place is everything you could want in a burger joint - simple ordering process, fresh ingredients, delicious food and doesn't break the bank. It is a cute place nestled in where there used to be a Church's chicken. At first I was sad to see Church's go, but I am so THRILLED that Storm Burger replaced them. Let's just say that I've been a fan of Storm Burger from inception and I just now realized that I never did a review for them. They deserve all the praise they've been receiving from these food reviewers, because they are definitely WORTH THE HYPE. Yes the lines are now longer because of the traction, but it's well worth the wait. I promise you won't be disappointed with the quality of items you receive and the fast friendly service.
google avatar

Eddie V.

Yelp
I'm rarely left speechless about food. This place is incredible. Freshly breaded and seasoned chicken breast. Fries on point! Crispy and lightly breaded. Bread! Slaw! Customer service!! All was great. Can't wait to be back and try more options.
google avatar

Sonia C.

Yelp
The worst burger and fries ever. Unsure the hype but the fries are filled with oil and the burger, well, good luck with finding the patty and this is coming from someone that doesn't care for 'Meat.' Tread lightly here. Nasty no seasoning either.
google avatar

Fina B.

Yelp
Bomb. Their burgers taste fresh. I love how the Pattie's are smashed so you can really taste the meat and seasoning. The fries are the top 3 best fries I've ever had!! Nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their storm sauce was great. And their thunder sauce had a nice kick of sweet tangy and hot after. We're definitely coming back!!
google avatar

Ada C.

Yelp
Hi. It was my first time trying storm burger. By far exceptional taste; however, I paid for grilled onions and it was not included in my burger :( unfortunately I could not return because it was a drive thru order. So I called and it directed me to leave a "complaint" on Yelp and IG. I don't like the word complaint, but it was unfortunate to not have my grilled onions. The fries are delicious and crispy! I would return.
google avatar

james c.

Yelp
We did the drive through. Ordered a bbq bacon cheese and onion rings. Made it a combo with a coke. My kid had a classic fries and a coke. Person at the window was very very nice. The wait wasn't long. Both of us loved our burgers fries and onion rings. One small nitpicky thing was that the onion rings were not HOT. Just like warm. Still sweet crunchy and tasty. Went back the other day. It's no fluke these people are the soul of this business and they love being there.. The onion rings were HOT !! This burger is very well put together the bun is the right size. The burger holds together well while being easy to eat on the drive if necessary. We didn't go in but the place looked busy and clean!! It's in a good neighborhood too.
google avatar

Ray H.

Yelp
Great great burgers here! I came here after a friend recommended this place to try the burger and wow, they were excellent! I got the double classic storm burger but told him without pickles or tomatoes and he put tomatoes and no cheese which is what i wanted so had to take a star off the rating but still a good meal with onion rings. Also got the spicy chicken sandwich with fries with apricot thunder and jalapeno lighting sauces. They only have drive through and walk up to order. No inside dining area or outside seating so know that. Food Rating Classic burger super good! 8.8/10 Onion rings and straws 8.8/10 they were really good and crispy Spicy chicken sandwich 8.5/10 with no slaw or pickles for me

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 10 out of 10. Would repeat. The reason for this review is to offer a HUGE thank you to Mike, Francis, Quez and the StormBurger team. I contracted their food truck for an event to serve 400 people. (for them...no problem!). The food was as consistenly delicious, served to their high standard and was the #1 hit at the event! To top if off they deliver on the front line. True professionals reflecting the quality of their food with a level of camaraderie and outstanding customer service that is unprecedented in the "fast" food world. They are an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. There is a reason that cars are wrapped around the block. The quality of the burgers is phenomenal! The fries are coated with some magic crispy-ness while maintaining this incredible fluffiness inside and the onion rings??? They are absolute gourmet perfection. Me...if I am there, I lean in all the way with a chocolate milkshake. (Ha....obviously, I'm going back for more.) Thank you, Team StormBurger.
google avatar

Desiree F.

Yelp
Came here to try their burgers! For starters, the customer service was nice and they were patient with me, being that I was a first time customer! We ordered 2 cheeseburger combos with lettuce and sauce only, fries, onion rings, ranch and thunder sauce. The burger and thousand have good flavor but it's too much bread for the bread to meat ratio. I recommend try the double! Fries and onion rings were crispy! Onion rings did lack alittle bit of flavor tho. Ranch also lacked flavor for me): and thunder bird sauce had a sweet and spicy flavor to it!

Natasha W.

Yelp
Thdt burger was terrible I went once and never came back dry burger that's what I remember so well
google avatar

Mel D.

Yelp
We were driving back home after doing some errands and we decided to grab drive thru for lunch. Their pricing was good - my storm burger was $5.99 - everything is so expensive these days, I was pleasantly surprised. Both the burgers and fries were good. The drive thru went quickly and the workers were friendly. A great little joint to grab a quick bite!
google avatar

Mai M.

Yelp
Pulled up to Storm Burger and let me just say--they brought the flavor and the portions BIG BACK!!!!!! ! I grabbed a combo (burger, fries, and a drink) for $16.99 before tax, and that burger? HUGE and amazing. Like, I'd happily crush one every day of the week. The fries were on the smaller side (no biggie), because that burger was a whole meal by itself--no lie, I couldn't even finish the fries . As for the service it was quick and on point . The crew was super chill and friendly. I made an extra order and they even tossed in a cup of water, which was clutch . I ordered from the drive-thru, which was kinda tight--definitely wish they had more space there , but it didn't slow things down too much. If you're hungry-hungry and want something that hits every time, Storm Burger is a must . Big flavor, big portions, good vibes
google avatar

Miles S.

Yelp
This spot is exactly what you need when burgers are on your horizon. Locally sourced and fresh at price points you can't beat. House made sauces take any option to the next level and their shakes are more than worth it too! Service is quick and the hospitality is top tier for a grab and go spot. Pull up and Stay Eatin!
google avatar

Lawrence L.

Yelp
Stumbled into this place on the way back to LAX. Amazing smash burger! I got the spicy lightning burger combo. The burger itself was juicy and the bun nicely steamed. The jalapeños added a nice kick, and the cheese was nicely melted. Make sure to order the fries because they must be made to order, they were extremely hot and crispy. So happy to have found this place. They are also open until 1AM on Friday.
google avatar

LaTasha G.

Yelp
Storm Burger has done it again! 10/10 My favorite is the Double Classic w/bacon added grilled onions extra pickles and chopped chillies with the apricot drizzle Service phenomenal Ambiance typical
google avatar

Miriam P.

Yelp
Super disappointed. This used to be my go-to spot for a quick food fix ever since I moved into the neighborhood two years ago. Lately, I feel like the quality has been going downhill. We just ordered two burgers and, honestly, they're not what they used to be. The last straw was a completely flat Coke.
google avatar

Kayla M.

Yelp
Well first of all the food was very oily like they soaked the bun or something. And secondly the onion rings have no flavor to them they are extremely bland... even with the batter. It used to be good not sure what happen
google avatar

Julie F.

Yelp
I was recently reminded of StormBurger when it was featured on the local news. My friend was also just mentioning how much he liked StormBurger. The Classic StormBurger was so tasty and the crispy, crunchy onion rings were exceptional. The apricot Thunder sauce was yummy yet spicy. Delivery was very fast which certainly beats waiting in the long drive thru line.
google avatar

J. X.

Yelp
You know what ffffff it. Rename the place Storm Chicken Sandwich! The burgers are the best in LA but ffffffff The chicken sandwich tho!! The CHICKEN SANDWICH!!! THE CHICKEN SAND WICH. Omg
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
I wanted to be taken over the moon by these burgers and just wasn't. I was so excited to try it that I ordered the stormburger AND a deluxe chicken sandwich combo. For starters my burger was barely warm and without the apricot sauce, it would've lacked flavor. Loved the brioche buns and fresh (crunchy) lettuce on my chicken sandwich though! The chicken sandwich was pretty good but again not great. The fries, perfect texture/crisp with softness in the middle but no flavor. I'll go back once more because I ALWAYS see a line out front so I'm hoping it was an isolated experience. But as for my first time, it was not at all what I expected.
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
I ordered food on Postmates. This was my first time eating at storm burgers, They did not adhere to what I asked for. I paid extra for add-ons (bacon, extra cheese , jalapeños,) over $10 and my order was not fulfilled right. The burger patty was thin and was crumbled in pieces not even a full patty .It sucks because they are expensive for a burger place and I end up paying $35 for a burger that wasn't even done right.
google avatar

Savvy G.

Yelp
I tried this place 3 different times to be able to give them a proper review. I have tried every menu item, including sauces. This place has gotten popular, so it can get a little crowded at times. You can walk up to order or wait in the drive thru. The first time I came I tried the classic storm burger. It felt a bit small, but it was tasty. I just didn't like the fact that we paid $1 extra for grilled onions when the burger comes with onions, just for them to still put only raw onions. Other than that mistake, it wasn't too bad. My personal favorite burger is their bacon bbq burger. It's so flavorful and delicious. Their fries are good, but their onion rings are pretty bland and a bit too crispy. All of their sauces are good, and my personal fav is the thundersauce! It's a sweet spicy apricot with a unique delicious taste. Their storm sauce is like thousand island. Their shakes are pretty good too, they remind me of In N Out. I would definitely stop by if I'm around. Give it a try.

Yelp
Today was the day. My daughter loves storm burger so I frequent here for her. I never really cared for the burgers, but TODAY all things changed. The TURKEY BURGER IS AMAZING!!! The flavor, the freshness, this is by far the best turkey burger I have had in a while. I will most definitely be back and placing an order for myself. Totally impressed that I had to call and tell others about my experience. Great job storm burger on the turkey burger.
google avatar

Nikki W.

Yelp
I coming here for the fries alone! Located off LaBrea, this location always has someone ordering at some point of the day. Prepare to be in a line, but it doesn't always happen. I haven't ordered at the main window, only through the drive thru, and it went pretty quickly. The burgers are cool, and although they were lightly flavored, I felt the chicken strips had more seasoning. But the winner for me is the seasoned French fries! Unfortunately there is only one size for the fry order. Make sure to eat them as soon as you get them to get that crispy texture. You won't be disappointed! This is a burger stand, so no indoor dining, and it's situated off a busy street. They also have a parking lot.

Yelp
This place is legit. Great smash burgers and awesome fries. The young man at the drive through was nice. Food was hot and fresh. What more can you ask for? Great job Inglewood :) Regarding ambiance, Storm Burger is casual "to-go" type of establishment. You can either order via drive-thru or at the window. Cash and cards accepted. Decent amount of parking spots available.
