"This unassuming place in the middle of Mall Bellevue will shock you with everything it has on offer — not just matcha lattes but hojicha lattes, and coffee cherry tea, and a bunch of other tea-based drinks. And a strong selection of all sorts of teas, AND a lot of Asian-influenced pastries to go with your beverage of choice. (Not for nothing, Story has one of the more interesting egg tarts around.)" - Dylan Joffe, Harry Cheadle

I'm a big fan of this coffee shop due to its excellent atmosphere and spacious interior. The coffee and food consistently impress with their quality and flavor, while the staff go above and beyond with their patience and helpfulness. Whether I'm in a rush or looking to relax, it's the perfect spot for a quick coffee or a leisurely meal. It's also a great place to meet friends or get some work done with a laptop and a book in town. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-notch coffee experience!

Love the atmosphere of this place and the sense of community that Story Coffee brings to life! It's now my go-to place to meet up with girlfriends in the downtown area. Parking tips: the Alley 111 garage can be crowded sometimes, so I typically opt for street parking along 110th if there's space.

Cute coffee set up in downtown Bellevue, Story Coffee hits my right spot. Love the vibe of coffee and plants, never goes wrong. This one is in place of Honor Coffee, I came here few years ago, Story is a new one in the same location as Honor shut the doors. We got their signature drinks- Black Sesame Rose Latte and my friend got the Honey Toffee Latte. Both tasted so nice, there were rose petals and toffees in both our respective drinks. Other options like non caffeine drinks are available too, food options like usual bakery items were available as well. Baristas were so friendly and nice! Parking is validated if you park in the Alley parking spot, there are two so get the right one to avoid fees!

Google
I’ve been going to Story regularly for almost a year now and it’s wonderful. The drinks are all great, the staff is friendly and fast, and the atmosphere is easygoing, clean, and comfortable. Internet is available and there are usually seats free. Highly recommend!

Google
Cute cafe with plenty of seating and good Wi-Fi in 3 hours validated parking. Our favorite drink was the Black sesame cold foam top and we really like the spinach cheese brioche bun. Great place to get some work done or hang out with friends. The drinks are a little on the pricey side but they were great.

Google
Story Coffee, formerly known as Honor Coffee is a good place to stop by. The atmosphere is great. The place also offers free parking in the garage. The service was a little slow with a few hiccups but the staff made them right without a fuss. Ordered a Black Rose Latte, Butter Croissant, Mochas, and a Banana Bread. Everything tasted good.

I recently visited Story Coffee and was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. The environment is absolutely delightful, with a clean and beautiful setting that makes you feel right at home. The decor is tastefully done, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere perfect for relaxing or working. The staff at Story Coffee are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, adding a personal touch to the visit. Their warm hospitality really enhances the experience and makes you feel valued as a customer. Overall, the atmosphere at Story Coffee is fantastic. It's a great spot to unwind, enjoy a good cup of coffee, and soak in the pleasant surroundings. Highly recommend!:)

Google
The name says it all Coffee and Tea with some pastry options. I had a very well made chai latte. Ordered a couple of pastries. They were also very good. Surprisingly not too sweet which I liked a lot. Service was quick and friendly. The shop was smaller than it look from the website pics. The pastries were deceiving. It looked like it was covered with fondant or hard shell. But it was sold and smooth. Very “instagram” worthy. lol. The ambiance was cute. It’s great place to stop for snacks and coffee with friends.

Yelp
Good coffee with quick and friendly service. I have had the honeycomb toffee latte, black sesame latte, banana walnut bread, and the ginger molasses cookie. The cookie was my fav, and the slice of banana nut bread was definitely very filling. I love that this café is currently selling mini cakes from @from_v_with_love_cakes. If you've ever had her cakes, they are so yummy! The café itself is very spacious with lots of room to work/study, and I love that they validate for 3 hours. I will definitely try to come back because they seem to always have lots of tasty seasonal drinks.

Yelp
Went here earlier today with my partner for the first time to do some work. I tried their hojicha chocolate drink with foam and asked for it iced. The barista told me they hadn't made it iced before so they warned me it might taste imbalanced/not as good. However, the drink was SOOO delicious!!! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the drink. Definitely will go back for it, although it was a bit pricey with the foam. We also got two desserts and felt they were okay and pricey, but the service, atmosphere and drink were excellent. I also loved how they were offering free pride stickers! Keep in mind that the wifi was unstable and had difficulties remaining connected.

Kait D.

Yelp
Stopped by for an iced oat milk mocha. When I stepped up to the counter I said "hi, how are you," and the barista asked me for my order. Which I thought was kind of strange. I feel like smaller coffee shops are usually friendly and this barista was giving disgruntled Starbucks employee. My drink ended up being just under ten dollars, but tasted mostly like watered down milk. The mocha was stuck to the bottom of the cup and even after stirring the flavour wasn't even in the drink with some sips being too sweet and others being almost slimy in texture. I also had to wait almost twenty minutes for my drink to come out so definitely don't pick this place for coffee if you're in a rush. On the plus side, the quiet and organized atmosphere makes this place perfect for getting work done. There were multiple people on laptops and lots of space to sit and work. While I was waiting for my drink, I was able to get at least two things checked off my to-do list which is always a win.

Gargi R.

Yelp
Really cute coffee shop in Downtown Bellevue with plenty of seating. They provide 3 hour validated parking. The shop is adorned with plants, books and products from local artists. They have an amazing selection of speciality coffee and pastries. I got the lavender mousse cake and black rose latte. Both were beautiful and delicious.

Yelp
PARKING TIP: GPS it to "Alley 111 Parking Garage'. The cafe validates 3 hours of parking & the cafe is right outside the garage Decent amount of seating but the wifi was spotty. By 2-3pm it was pretty busy/full on a Saturday afternoon. For 3 items it was $28 which is pretty pricy! All items we ordered were tasty though!

Todd U.

Yelp
Settled here for the afternoon. BY GOD! The pastries are sourced from four different bakeries, but this place chooses the right ones! I suggest the mango passion fruit salted caramel cake. It is to die for! Their coffees are hand crafted and to perfection with seasonal flavors. The service is remarkable and very professional! There is a ton of space to relax and work or relax and fall asleep. There is free Wi-Fi! Making this my go to in Bellevue!

Yelp
I'm taking a moment out of my day and shout out KAI and the other beautiful Asian-descendant gal (in a purple sweater) who works at Story Coffee. I walked in and ordered a black sesame latte. It's my first time here. The gal who took my order was so kind and patient. I couldn't make up my mind. One of those days. She answered all my questions and I even learned a new thing. I just appreciate excellent customer service. I had to re park cause I drove into the wrong garage. It happens. The signs are misleading of where exactly to park. The male over the intercom was not very nice and abrupt the call. I walked back in and Kai knew I did not have a pleasant experience. The male should have waived the parking fee. I understand each garage has their own rules but being kind goes a long way. Kai went ahead and made me another latte as my previous was cold. It was the sweetest gesture and totally made my day. I will be back, not only for the excellent coffee, but for this above and beyond service. A hidden gem in Bellevue. Glad I chose this spot on a Friday afternoon. Thank you Story Coffee!!!

Yelp
I've only had their hojicha donut latte, cause it's so damn good.. I can't bring myself to order anything else. It's a bit pricey. With tax and tip, I'm whipping out over $7.00 for a cup of coffee/tea. But better here than some over brooding chain. Also you can taste a latte difference in the drink. Story coffee and tea, feels like you're drinking something with depth, and wholesome flavor. Each cup kinda tells you a story, so the name of the place is so fitting. The donut latte is smooth. Not sweet at all. The donut foam has a subtle sweet and creamy to it that is perfect imo. Not too heavy, and just ahhh so delicious. Glad the place has easy parking and easy validation. Definitely will drop by for the same exact drink again next time I'm close by.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite cafés in Bellevue and I've been coming here since last year around this time! I'm happy that the Matcha colada is back because it was my favorite drink to get last spring and I definitely look forward to it. The interior is always so pleasing, and the baristas are all kind. The drinks may be a little bit more expensive but I think that every time I get one, I'm not disappointed because the flavors are always good! I love coming here to study or just sit for a while with a friend.

Yelp
We finally tried out Story Coffee after walking by many times. One of the things that really stood out to me is that they offer coffee (or matcha) flight (though I'm still yet to try it) They have a wide variety of seasonal offerings and drinks, pastries, food, and local goods. After a few visits, I think my partner and I would give this place a a solid ~4.5. Their black sesame cold foam latte is one of their best drinks we've tried here - the flavor and consistency is so good and they serve it in a really big glass. The inside is quite spacious and has a lot of seating, as well as shelving along one wall full of local goods from artists. We haven't yet tried their food, but they have a lot of options - both traditional café style pastries and sandwiches, but also some rice noodles in partnership with Slurp Station. We'd like to give these a try next time!

Lily D.

Yelp
Good coffee, great ambiance. The decor is very cozy and it's decently busy. Got the black sesame cold foam latte, good drink but I don't really taste the black sesame.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
It's a cute cafe that is perfect for working. Sofas, small tables, long tables, bar seating - they have it all! Even when it's fully packed, it doesn't get loud. My favorite thing is their extensive menu and seasonal varieties. You can find almost anything here, even food served in the afternoon. However, $7 for a 8oz before tip is a bit on the steep end. The patreons are almost exclusively Asian and it's completely full by 10am. I love how they have cosignment space to sell goods from local artists. Downsides - Wifi is spotty sometimes. The parking is a bit of a pain as the coffee shop faces a "service road" that doesn't have parking out front. You can kind of get lost if you don't know where you're going. Though I haven't tried going in the parking lot, they validate parking only for Alley 111 (has a big blue sign) around the corner.

Yelp
This place needs more reviews as it is a place for any type of coffee/matcha lover !! It is the optimal shop for a studying student, a cute trendy vlogger, or even a coffee date experience. They offer some interesting options that seem to have a Korean twist while still emphasizing the American boujie coffee shop experience. I absolutely love that servers know how to make a nice frothy latte and that they have a variety of milk as I opt for SOY, which seems to be in the minority now a days. Plenty of SEATING with some OUTLETS and WIFI. The latte flights were intriguing although I did not get one. But I can say the BLACK SESAME was probably my favorite even though the honey comb was more aesthetic, it didn't pack as much flavor as I hoped for. I came back to this place the vary next day as it had plenty of new options and a delicious initial cup that had me wanting more.

Yelp
I heard Story Coffee & Tea was a newer spot in downtown Bellevue for some caffeinated beverages, so decided to check it out and do some reading here as I had visited its predecessor, Honor Coffee before. Story Coffee & Tea was a solid spot for drinks and hanging out. Located in the Alley 111 apartments on the retail level, it hasn't changed much, looks wise, from when it was Honor Coffee. The space is configured with the same amount of tables and chairs, with a few comfy, leather chairs for longer visits. I liked that they had a consignment wall that showcased items that you could purchase from local artists, such as prints, ceramics, etc. Many people were working on their laptop when I visited on a Saturday, given that they offer wifi. The menu has a lot to offer, with many different coffee, tea and other beverages, as well as sandwiches and pastries in the display case and to-go items in the fridge, like juice and yogurt. I ordered a hojicha donut latte, which set me back about eight bucks. It's not cheap, but it was good, especially at first sip. The creamy foam on top of the latte is what gives you that donut-y taste, and I liked the hojicha flavor throughout. It was a nice drink to try, but not something I'd get again and again, especially since it's pricey. I'd be more inclined to try their other inventive beverages in my next visit.

Amy D.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop by for a coffee or sit down and get some work done. It wasn't noisy, there's wifi, and plenty of seating. If you're visiting on a weekend, you might be better off parking in the Alley111 garage since they offer 3 hours of validation. On weekdays, you can try to find free 2 hour parking on the streets. I also saw an EOD special sign offering 50% off pastries after 5pm. Swing by and see if you're lucky enough to grab something! Pistachio Cappuccino ($7) - The bits of crushed pistachio were yummy. Would recommend this. Turkey Brie Sandwich ($12.50) - If you're a fan of sweet + savory foods, try this. There's jam that makes it sweet but the brie matches the flavor well.

Quyen W.

Yelp
I'm not a native, but I know how to use Yelp when looking for exceptional establishments. Once again, the reviews did not disappoint. I can imagine coffee is a tough business in the region, and I can see how Story Coffee & Tea gets their good reviews. I was just looking for a place to park and get some emails done over a nice pastry and coffee. One sip of their cappuccino and wow! So, is all Seattle coffee this good?! The chocolate croissant is delish. I'm jealous of all the locals living there and get to experience this anytime! It's popular, but service was quick.

Anuj S.

Yelp
Living the coffee life while in Seattle. When in Rome... Stopped by for breakfast and just to get some work done, while in-town. The seating area is good. The latte was... fine. A bit on the bitter side. The almond swirl thingie was... kind of OK. In one sense it was good, because it wasn't too sweet. It also didn't really have a lot of flavor to it and even though I had it warmed up, it didn't really seem to be fresh. Not that it was stale, but not like bakery fresh. Anyway, I'm enjoying the morning as I lounge and sip.

Ivy Z.

Yelp
I've come here twice and both times they were pretty packed. Service is ok and took over 25 minutes both times to get my latte. It's a bit pricey but it's Bellevue. Lots of parking and a good amount of seating but usually all full of people. Would recommend the rose latte!

Stephen R.

Yelp
Such a great coffee spot! If you arrive at 7 AM, it's quiet and they serve excellent coffee. The owners are friendly and cool.

Niya Z.

Yelp
we ordered cappuccino and one latte to stay, none of them had latte art,it's okay, but the cappuccino foam was just low quality

Angieee N.

Yelp
This has got to be my new favorite cafe! It's so quaint, has both indoor and outdoor seating (which are actually COMFY btw), and is just such a cute and cozy atmosphere to be in It's not overly loud even when it gets full, there are cute plants by the entrance, art along the walls (from local artists which you can buy!), and a pop up shop along one wall with the cutest soaps and home wares. They also have games you can play, aesthetic ass drinks that come out pretty speedy, and the tastiest treats. My friend got the raspberry chocolate cake which was yummy and I got the chocolate cheese tart which was AMAZING Not to mention, their matcha lattes are sooo pretty. Highly recommend, but I also wouldn't be mad if more people didn't come cuz I don't want this adorable spot to get overrun Pros: * deliiiiicious treats and pastries * aesthetic AND tasty drinks * decent pricing for drinks and most pastries * super cozy vibe * indoor AND outdoor seating! * free games to play * local art and handmade goods for sale (support local woo!) * friendly service * drinks come out pretty quick Cons: * parking is a bit confusing, but there's free 2 hour street parking outside and a paid parking garage around the corner

Sophia L.

Yelp
This place is right across from The Shops At The Bravern. They only validate parking at alley111 so be sure to park there. Great place to study or do work since it's super quiet. We got the black rose and gingerbread latte. The wait for those two drinks was pretty long -- 10 minutes -- despite have a good amount of people working. Both coffees had the smell of rose and gingerbread but you couldn't really taste the difference beneath the foam. Might come to try some of their teas instead.

Melissa C.

Yelp
This is by far one of my favorite cafes in Bellevue. They constantly have new seasonal drinks to try, which keeps return trips interesting. I love the aesthetic of the place and it's on the quieter side with tables and comfy sofa chairs. The baristas are friendly and polite. I only wish they didn't charge $1.50 for oat milk! Free WiFi and validated parking too.

Cassandra H.

Yelp
I got the hoji-cocoa. It wasn't too sweet and the hojicha flavor was present. I went on a weekday and was able to find street parking but the alley 111 garage and Elements Apartments also have parking. It was quiet and nice to work from, but for some reason I couldn't connect to their wifi.

Kim D.

Yelp
Story Coffee & Tea replaced the same location that used to be Honor Coffee. It's such a cute little cafe filled with so many lovely plants for sale from Urban Jungle. It's so welcoming & peaceful the moment you walk in. The staff are so friendly and helpful as well. We tried their Salty Jasmin and Black Rose drinks. Both were very unique & refreshing!

Kurt G.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of this coffee shop. Unique in flavor, the place is very spacious. Everyoen here is super nice and helpful. I feel the service is great. In love with the decor. The drinks are spot on and always amazing. Highly recommend this place.

Mahak M.

Yelp
Super cute and spacious coffee shop that hosts fun events. I love that they also have a great snack selection too, so you can work from the cafe all day!

Andrea L.

Yelp
The young man at the counter was nice. Other than that the coffee was awful and really expensive. We ordered two lattes and an iced latte. They all tasted like milky burnt coffee. I usually get a nice rich espresso with a latte. Not this case it was regular coffee and not very good at that.

Dee M.

Yelp
Pros: Friendly staff, clean bathrooms and Wi-Fi Cons: Terrible coffee, overpriced We got a mocha, espresso and an americano. All three tasted like old over roasted coffee beans were used. The prices were exorbitant for the bitter burnt coffee. I feel like the owners here cheap out and source bad coffee. It was at the same level as a Starbucks coffee for us, and for twice the price.

Lorn W.

Yelp
Crappy wifi. Got the iced matcha latte. The matcha tastes like the one my girlfriend makes at home, which is good. Recommend to not get whole milk unless you want the insides of your mouth to taste like Casein for 2 hours post drink.

Sandra N.

Yelp
this review is based on the iced matcha latte only. if you're a matcha lover, don't get this here. there was a lack of matcha flavor and almost no sweetener. would not recommend. the ambience here however is great for studying or catching up! we went on a saturday and it was quite busy.

Tiffany Z.

Yelp
Great vibes, yummy desserts and tasty drinks! Love the creativity of their matcha donut latte! Can't wait to go back to try their black sesame latt

Nian L.

Yelp
great place to work and grab a coffee chat. Good in-store environment with plant and book shelf. Service is also good too!

Michelle D.

Yelp
Seriously one of our favorite coffee shops to date. We came back to this spot 3 days in a row just because we enjoyed it so much! The interior was cozy and there was a ton of seating available for studying or just relaxing with friends. The staff was attentive and efficient, and we appreciated all their recommendations Highly recommend their tasting flights, the dirty, pistachio cappuccino, and honey cinnamon latte!

Bin D.

Yelp
Good place, spacious room, nice coffee, definitely checkout if you walk around in Bellevue downtown.

Mara C.

Yelp
We came here for afternoon tea. The place was packed. However, we were able to snatch couple of seats by the window. Baristas were very kind to answer my questions about their black tea and as a someone who appreciates high quality teas I had a few Let say, I was surprised and impressed by how delicious their tea was! Considering that most times I experience quite subpar quality of tea in most coffee shops I had low expectations but still some hope. It was delicious, strong, vibrant. I will be back. P.S. Pleasant atmosphere as well

Shino S.

Yelp
Tried the cafe for the first time. The Ube latte is great. The baristas are very friendly and the overall atmosphere is calming and pleasant. I'm looking forward to coming back!

Crystal L.

Yelp
I hate writing poor reviews but I had such a shitty experience here I feel that it's justified. Do NOT come here if you're looking for friendly baristas. I am a barista so I know first hand how easy it is to be accommodating to new customers. I came Here for the first time and every single barista made me feel like such a nuisance. The drink they gave me tasted weird, I think the shots weren't good or the milk was burnt I don't know but I told them that it tasted off and I wanted something else and they made me buy a whole new latte!! As a barista, if the drink was made wrong the customer shouldn't have to pay for a new one.. it wouldn't have been so bad had these drinks not been SO expensive. I paid almost 9$ (without tip) for a 12 iced latte !! ALSO the bussing bins were super overflowed and the bathroom had no toilet paper. Only Good thing about the place was the volume and music choice, chill ambiance and they had plenty of tables and seating for studying.

Nathan R.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and it's a really good coffee shop in downtown Bellevue! The ambiance is nice and it's not too loud, lots of seating as well. Easy to chill here and get work done. Previously I got the matcha donut top latte and recently I got their rose black tea latte - both were really good! Not too sweet and very flavorful! They have a good selection of drinks, so I'm excited to try more of them. Plenty of yummy pastries too! Staff is very friendly and welcoming too. They do validate parking if you park in the Alley 111 parking garage. Warning if you have a large/long car, it can be tough navigating inside the garage since it's quite small.

Jazzi Y.

Yelp
ooh this was a nice find. the location is great with lots of parking. the inside has a decent amount of seating and layout is nice. the quality of the drinks are on the higher end and i would recommend especially the matcha with i give a 8/10. the coffees get an overall 7/10. we also had the bagel and a sandwich and both were spectacular. it's a cute spot with a modern mix. baristas were nice recommending trying it out.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Good place to grab a bite and a drink and chill. Would recommend and would probably go again.

Vy N.

Yelp
Got the dalgona latte which was their seasonal special. The coffee itself was decent. I prefer more of a roasted coffee flavor, and so the coffee here wasn't as aromatic to my liking but the dalgona bits on top were very good. The cafe itself was a pretty large space so it felt roomy and comfortable when doing work. Lots of chairs and tables to do work. Bathrooms were clean. Overall cozy vibe. Park in the 11 garage for validated free parking. I made the mistake of parking in a different parking garage and had to pay $14 for parking. Overall would come again, good study spot!

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
Had an Affogato for $8 - perfect espresso beans with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. The taste was perfect, coffee shop experience was enjoyable, price was a bit high but definitely worth trying

Iman B.

Yelp
A recently opened coffee shop with a nice plant vive inside. I like the way that the interior is designed and walls are painted. They also sell small plants too. Their beans are really good and great coffee they sell. Plus some nice pastries they have which I love their egg tarts :-)

Kuan P.

Yelp
Good coffee and good place to work. A tad expensive however and parking is a bit hard.

Christopher P.

Yelp
We work in the area and have been coming to the previous establishment "Honor Coffee" which has since been taking over by Story Coffee. We knew the previous owner and family well and were regulars. They said the coffee should be the same, just different tenants and name. That is not the case. Something about the way they brew their coffee is off. There is a new after taste and it isn't good. Most noticeable in their cold brew. Because of this we have stopped coming and doing our group orders at Starbucks or The French bakery now. Hope they can change because they are nice people. Just quality of coffee has come down. Coffees I've tried: Regular Hot Latte & Cold Brew

James Y.

Yelp
Cool spot, coffee was tasty and the service was quick and pleasant. I had the almond milk latte, was perfect. I'll be back for sure.
