Story Coffee

My go to coffee spot when I'm in London. Great coffee, lovely staff and they even have a rewards system, every 10 coffees you buy. I've tried other places but nowhere seems to hit the spot like Story! (Side note: they also do an excellent range of coffee beans if you're running low)

I have been going to story since I moved to the area and it has become part of my morning routine due to outstanding and friendly staff, paired with the best cup of coffee in the area.

We went into for a coffee on our way to Clapham. We were greeted in a friendly manner, the coffee was very good as was in the chocolate chip cookie. Nice quaint place. We'll definitely go again as I fancy having one of their sandwiches and other pastries.

Nice little corner cafe, where you order from the side window. Not many food options available at all but that’s ok - they do have croissants and the coffee is good! They do have seating inside if needed, Just pay at the window and walk inside. Oh, and they are definitely a screen free cafe; meaning laptops and tablets are banned from the tables inside. Nice touch.

It’s our favourite coffee shop, we come all the time it’s our local!! Xxx

Great coffee. Takeout food would be better for me if you could have it hot/warm. I would love it if you had some cushions on the seats inside

Always a pleasure to get my morning coffee here. Staff are super lovely, there is a nice space to sit which doesn’t allow laptops so you can almost always get a seat and most importantly great coffee

Apparently they have this no laptop rule in the inside part of the cafe, which is ridiculous. It is not obvious from the shop front. They put it on a tiny piece of paper on the till relying on you seeing it. And if you don't, you would have only found out after having ordered and gone in to see what's on the table. This is not on. If you have the audacity to ban laptops, make it VERY clear upfront. They charge £3 for a have-in tea. In my opinion I didn’t pay £3 for the tea, I am paying to use the real estate - the use of space, electricity, service. Who doesn’t know how to make their own tea? A tea bag is 5p, a dash of milk another 5p, hot water another 5p max - no one is buying a 15p cup of tea for £3 and not be allowed to sit inside to use their laptop! Crucially, the tea wasn’t even great. All this while I sat outside in the cold there was hardly anyone using the space inside. Also, it’s just laptops and iPads that are banned, phones aren’t. Baffling.

This place is a cute cafe on the corner, on a quieter stretch up the road from busy Clapham Junction. Service is really friendly and the decor is minimal but thoughtful. We had two drinks, which were fairly priced and tasty. The filter coffee was served with the bag of coffee on the table, which was a neat touch to showcase the beans. Minus a few stars because: both our drinks weren't served hot enough, but only warm; as well, the filter coffee was on the smaller side. Last, they were playing cool music but kept switching songs midway through and changing genres, which was a bit distracting and took away from the atmosphere.

Delicious quinoa pancakes last Saturday!! This was actually my second brunch (yes I'm a fatty fat) as I had just eaten at Ben's up the road and was still hungry after my kale and sweetcorn patties brunch. These pancakes, a silver dollar stack, hit the spot! There is a good amount of ricotta, cinnamon apples and coconut but yet the dish is not too sweet. Service was ok- not the friendliest but also not terrible or mean. It was nice to sit in the sun in the chairs outdoors. Free WiFi.

Happened past this spot on a leisurely walk around the neighborhood I'm staying for the next few weeks. Perfect cappuccino, clean & cool interior design, friendly staff. Great place to stop for your daily read or writing, a little brunch snack and a great coffee.

Five stars on the spot for this little gem in a corner of St John's Hill. The place is stylish and makes available some very nice cycling magazines. But these are only accessory comments because the real hit is in the coffee: this is one of the only two places in the whole London where I enjoyed a smooth, tasty and pleasant coffee. My cappuccino and I immediately understood each other and the everlasting time it took me to finish it, filled me with joy that I spilled out on the lines of a ciclocross article, making the whole experience immemorable. The Story between us will go on.

Cute looking place with extremely uncomfortable chairs. Burnt latte. Pastry not that great or fresh. No WiFi??? Not coming back.

Stopped in on my way into Clapham for a soy latte. Service was good, everyone working there seemed friendly. The coffee cup wasn't huge, but it was deceivingly full. The coffee was really good lots of flavour elements came through. And huge shout out to the baristas for not burning the soy milk! So many baristas just fry the hell out of the soy milk, these guys gently nurtured it into a relish sweet foamy goodness. The decor was clean and minimal and the atmosphere was nice: Will be back.

Small cups of good coffee with loud pop music... and not allowed to have your laptop to work... house policy a bit dull that forces us to go have coffee in big branches like Starbucks and co... sad !

The filter coffee was very good I thought. Not a lot of space, felt a bit crowded when I was waiting around to pay but there are worse things in this world! Also music was perhaps a touch to loud for a cafe, and it's small size and large number of people perhaps made it slightly harder to hear and talk then I'd like, but not to bad again!
