A Feast of Fun and Characters! Clarabelle's Dinner Buffet is a must-do for anyone looking for great food and even better character interactions. The food selection is fantastic, with everything from salads to a carving station, but the real standout was the lobster ravioli, which was absolutely delicious. While the desserts were just okay, they didn't take away from an otherwise wonderful meal. What truly sets this buffet apart is the character experience. We were thrilled to see Clarabelle, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto all make an appearance! Seeing Clarabelle is a special bonus since she's so rare, and Donald was, as always, the life of the party. The way the characters interact with guests makes the experience unforgettable. Overall, Clarabelle's Dinner Buffet offers an incredible combination of awesome food and top-notch character interactions. It's a truly special and memorable dining experience.

BEST food in all of Disney! We go every single trip, it’s a must! The food is always delicious with a ton of options for everyone. They even have kid options to order from the server. Pro tip- you can get a hot coco togo after your meal while you wait in line for sorn (Soarin) Storytellers- PLEASE bring back the corn cheddar soup… please, I am begging you. Also- don’t skip the bread pudding

Lovely character dining experience. The food choices were plentiful and healthy. I ate two plates including 4 different salads and loads of high quality protein. Lots of character interaction without having to flag them down. The sever acknowledged my daughter’s bday and sprinkled some Disney magic onto our bill. Much appreciated, will definitely be back.

I recommend making a reservation. I made a reservation about a month ahead of time. I ended up trying to add people to my reservation a day before but there was no availability. I went with my family to Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner around 7pm on a Saturday. It was my first Disney character dinner! It was such a fun experience and great atmosphere. My favorite dinner experience. We saw all the characters. My daughters only missed getting a picture with Clarabelle but they still got her autograph. Goofy and Daisy came around our table multiple times. We did see the star of the dinner, Donald. Unfortunately they ran out of Donald Duck buttons! I was disappointed by that since we paid such a large amount of money and to not receive the special button! I would highly recommend trying a character dinner if it's in your budget. Worth every penny. I just really wish they had Donald buttons left it would have been a great souvenir!

Storytellers Cafe is likely the worst place for the gummies I took an hour earlier to fully take effect into my bloodstream. I was sitting in this rustic, cabin-like ambiance fighting for my life when Donald Duck's girlfriend came to our table and started interacting with us. I wanted no part of it, so I have no idea why the words “I think you’re cute” left my lips. I didn’t want to catch the hands from Donald, so I got up and went to hit the buffet. I weaved through the wild children roaming around, refusing to make eye contact or acknowledge any of the Disney characters. My first plate consisted of prime rib, turkey breast, fried chicken, kale salad, vegetables, and a slice of pizza. They literally have everything in here. It was so overwhelming. The thing about me is I always forget I don’t like prime rib until it’s on the plate sitting in front of me. It’s just so one dimensional. Prime Rib just doesn’t have the juice. No motion. There is no crust formation, no seasoning, and no soul. Just a pink center. That cow is still alive damn near. I will never understand the general public's obsession with prime rib. Everything else was middy wap besides the kale salad and pizza, so my 2nd plate consisted of only kale salad and pizza. As I was walking back to the table with my 2nd plate, my soul barely still in my body, some music began playing loud and all the disney characters started dancing in unison through the center of the establishment. I couldn’t help but think of the people in these costumes just trying to feed their families. Crazy job to have. As the show ended, I looked to my left and there was Donald, staring deep into my soul. I thought I was gonna have to throw a spinning wheel kick in self defense, but I slowly walked back to my table without breaking eye contact. He didn’t want this problem and I can’t blame him. As we got up to leave, I saw Goofy. Goofy is my GUY. That lyric “Young Walt Disney Imma tell you truthfully, If you leave Mickey you gon end up with a Goofy!” lives rent free in my head, so I had to dap him up. Goofy always catching strays. SHOUTOUT TO GOOFY! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Google
Our favorite family restaurant in the entirety of the Disney Parks. Has a wonderful very high quality buffet, and it's also a character experience. We love the food, our kids love the characters. Less pricey and more entertaining and tasty than the Goofy restaurant. We've been many times over the years and still keep coming back.

10/10 magic!!! We took our toddler in to meet characters and get comfortable. Staff were incredible and the characters were wonderful! I will absolutely cherish the memories we had at Storytellers Cafe!

Google
We walked in on Saturday night and we're told that there is nothing available. We had valet'd our car and had to go back to the valet and tell them that the restaurant had no availability for new diners. My daughter had called ahead and was told there were no reservations available, so we decided to walk in and wait. It looks like a very nice place, according to the menus it's a bit pricey. But we have no idea how good the food is, maybe we'll find out one day. I gave it a three-star rating based on the atmosphere alone.

Yelp
We went to Daisy's Holiday Pajama Party Brunch. It was $70 for adult and $40 for kids. The service was great. The food was ok. It was a hit or miss. Waffles, chilaquiles, hashbrowns, eggnog bread pudding were excellent. Eggs, sausage, macarons, and cookies were just meh. The character meet and greets were fun. They also sign autographs in case you're wondering. Daisy, Donald, Pluto, and Chip & Dale were there. My 7 year old had a great time. It's a bit expensive for what it is. If the food was better or if it wasn't so expensive, I would recommend it more. If you want to splurge or if you want to celebrate something, then it's a good splurge. I'd rather spend a bit more money and just get tickets to the park.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed with my experience. My waiter was fine. Nothing great nothing horribly bad just ok. We had 10:00am reservations. We arrived at 9:45 and we were not seated until 10:20. The lobby was packed and noisy. You get 3 hours of valet parking complimentary with the meal. If you're over the 3 hours, it's $75!!!!! It made us anxious that from parking to sitting it took almost an hour of our time. It took half an hour from when our check was given to when it was charged too. A lot of anxiety over parking. The food is a hot mess. People line up but you're told not to line up, just squeeze in and grab what you want. The meat carving station is not regularly manned so you just have to stand there for a while. The food is ok at best. The best tasting food was the breads and the Belgian waffle (not the Mickey waffle). The characters were very disappointing. Pluto was amazing. He came over twice with big interactions. Thank you Pluto. We had to get a worker to bring over Daisy and Donald after waiting an hour for them to come over. I think it was our location but chip, dale, Donald, and daisy kept walking by without even waving. There are definitely prime table locations. The first table on the left side got so many interactions! I've been to Goofy's kitchen and the Stitch one that used to be at Pixar Hotel. Stitch was my absolute favorite. I loved the dance parties they would grab the kids and take them on stage. Goofy's was fine but 100 times better than storytellers. Way more organized. I felt the problem was they let in way too many reservations/ walk ups and were crazy understaffed. I will not be returning.

Yelp
Soooo cute and cozy!! I recommend coming here for BREAKFAST/ BRUNCH for the character breakfast!! They have a great spread of food in the morning: classics like eggs, Mickey waffles, hash browns, and oatmeal, as well as a richer foods like a breakfast hash and cut meats. Their fruit was AMAZING!! A surprising stand-out. All of their food is very tasty. It's hard to come by quality buffets (unless you're in Vegas) and I'd say Disney did great with this one :) It was also just sooo fun! We got visits from Mickey, Minnie, Dale, and Goofy! However be prepared for LOTS of kids. I kind of felt out of place LOL! Decent service. They kind of just let you be after you sit down and they take your beverage/ coffee order.

Yelp
I've already been to Storytellers Cafe twice in 2025 and have a reservation for a third visit via the Disneyland app! There are two ways to park: drive up to the valet at the Grand Californian Resort and get 3 hours free parking. Show your Storytellers receipt at the parking payment window (& trade a Disney pin) for your complimentary valet. The other way is to parking in the Downtown Disney parking lot and walk through DD to the Grand Californian walkway by the Sweets shop. My first time was with my boyfriend and we dropped by on a Sunday morning with no reservation in July; then back on Labor Day for a reserved family breakfast. A waiter takes your drink order and then for a flat fee of $59 per adult (discounts taken if you have a Disney pass or credit card), you have your run in the Buffett from fruits to pastries to cereals, the incredible Mickey waffles, plus proteins and omelettes, etc. Theres also alcohol that the waiter can accommodate for mom, dad, grandma and grandpa from the menu. But for the price you pay, this is an experience and the wait staff is incredibly accommodating. Characters also come to every table for photo ops which the kids love. Both times, we've seen Mickey and Minnie; Chip and Dale plus Goofy and Pluto! They're so great with the kids and big kids like us so we can get pictures too. The vibe is the California Redwoods as it's part of the Grand Californian. So clean and beautiful and a bit reminiscent of wine country outside the cafe. My family is on the edge of their seats to go back for a kid birthday party - the first of many I'm sure!

Yelp
Just a wonderful family birthday celebration and opportunity to take pictures with some of our favorite characters for Christmas cards. They serve a really nice variety of brunch items and I found the majority of food choices to be well prepared. The selection is more adult oriented than Goofy's Kitchen which we appreciated. All of the carved meats were moist which is a rare thing at buffet style spreads. Service gets an A+ with every staff member devoted to making sure patrons enjoy their meals and experience. The individuals working as characters are all energetic and make repeat visits to your table to make sure you are having a great time. They do a wonderful job of making everyone feel like a kid again. There is free valet parking for patrons validated for 3 hours. Make sure not to linger too long because you will pay a hefty fee after that time period expires. This was a magnificent day and I wouldn't mind returning again at a later date. Sometimes, Disney does still manage to make magic even if it is rather expensive magic.

Yelp
So we came to storytellers brunch over the weekend for my son's birthday and to see the characters. The food was great! Way better in my opinion the Minnie and friends breakfast over at plaza inn. The service/server/characters were great! Although I wish we got to see more of the characters like Donald and daisy and goofy. Mickey, Minnie, the chipmunk brothers and Pluto were the only ones who kept coming by and making their rounds multiple times. My only complaint is we had a had a 10:45 reservation and we were not only on time, but we were early and didn't get seated till nearly 11:30. With an antsy and hungry toddler, being significantly delayed on our reservation really didn't put a good start to the brunch. Aside from that everything was great. My son had a great time and we loved the cute chocolate Mickey cake they bright out to him for his birthday. Very grateful for that and I would 10/10 return

Yelp
I went to the Storytellers Cafe's, Clarabelle's Autumn dinner for my niece's birthday. Adults were $89, kids 3-9 were $42. There was 3 adults, birthday girl(5) and my 18 month old. The food was surprisingly good! I was ready for horrible buffet food in exchange for the characters for my niece but I was so happy that the food was delicious. There was pork belly, brisket, chicken drumsticks, salmon, lobster ravioli, with prime rib and turkey at the carving station. Salad bar, big cocktail shrimps, lots of fruits. Bread, butter, desserts. Soft serve I've cream! Even a section with pizza, chicken tenders, fries, and mac n cheese for kids(or adults with kid taste ) The characters were Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, and Clarabelle. I do wish Mickey and Minnie were in the group too but the kids were still happy. I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
Storytellers Cafe ended up being a wonderful oasis after a long day at California Adventure. It wasn't what I would call a hot day but after walking for hours and hours and hours, and the last-minute decision to have a character dinner and luckily being able to get a table, the respite of a nice, large buffet, with wonderful service and comfy chairs could not be understated. When we first arrived we were seated right away at a very small table despite there not being any openings but were then moved to a wonderful perfect table in the center of one of the seating areas. Our server was outstanding and extremely friendly very quick to show with drinks and everything we needed and on top of that they had an array of beer and wine as well as mixed drinks, which is not something I am used to being a thing at Disney parks! The buffet was loaded with tons of variety and everything that I tried was great, including a hand carving station, and boy did I eat a bit of everything. There was even a massive set of desserts that were all themed around different characters and things within the Disney universe that was really interesting. As we sat and enjoyed, along with each of us returning to the buffet stations, and as we did, the characters started coming, and this was easily the highlight of the dinner. Despite the great food and the great drink, wonderful service and great people nothing could top meeting all the classic Disney characters. Hugs and photos right at our table. Even those of us who have been several times and aren't kid's age anymore but still kids inside. The whole experience made everyone smile and it was one of the best moves we made all day. If we get the chance to return to California Adventure, this is a definite stop on the train. Zoridia Fry Index: Simply good. Just the right amount of crispness and not an overwhelming potato flavor.

Yelp
This place is located inside the hotel. The staff here are amazing. They are so welcoming. It's a buffet style and I came here for breakfast. They had a variety of food to choose from. Everything was delicious. It took awhile for the characters to make their way to our table, but once they started making their rounds, it was memorable.

Yelp
I went to Storytellers Cafe inside the Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim, basically on Disneyland grounds, for an early birthday breakfast and it was definitely a memorable one. This is a character dining experience and I got to see all five characters; Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, and Pluto. The biggest thing to know is that you're not paying for the food or even the chance to enjoy it fully, you're really paying for the experience with the characters. Maybe it was because we came exactly at opening, but we honestly weren't able to eat much at all because the characters kept coming one by one. There's nothing wrong with that, but by the time we finished interacting with all of them, the restaurant had already started filling up and we didn't get our fill of breakfast. The food itself was your run-of-the-mill breakfast spread; eggs, bacon, and an omelet station. But they did have some elevated touches I appreciated, like an ice cream machine, assorted desserts, a meat carving station, lox station, and even French butter which was a nice surprise. I can't say much about parking as I was able to get in through other means. But I will say the host and our server were incredibly inviting and really made our experience feel special. Overall, this is a place you visit for the characters. Don't come expecting to eat your money's worth, because the value is truly in the character interactions.

Great experience! Came and had breakfast. Got to take pictures with Minnie and Mickey. The food was great. Service was great. The omelette station was amazing.

Yelp
I came to Donald's Tales of Adventure at Storytellers Café after seeing it on TikTok and was super curious to try it since it's the first year they're doing a Donald Duck-themed character dining. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype. We went for dinner, and while the food was okay, it definitely didn't wow me. The selection felt limited, especially for dessert, and the overall atmosphere wasn't as festive or fun as I expected for a character experience. One of the biggest letdowns? We never got to meet Donald Duck. No one came around to make sure guests saw or got photos with all the characters -- which was really disappointing. There's no designated photo op with Donald either, unlike Goofy's Kitchen where Goofy greets you at the entrance or Minnie at Plaza Inn. This was my third character dining experience, and Goofy's Kitchen is still the best -- better food, better service, and more fun overall. The service at Storytellers was just okay -- nothing special. It honestly felt like just another dinner buffet with a few characters walking around. Glad we tried it once, but I won't be going back. I'll pay more for goofy's kitchen

Yelp
Be sure you make a reservation! Located within the Grand Californian hotel. You can get 3 hrs of validated self-parking and valet with a restaurant receipt, so be sure to hold onto that receipt! Fast and friendly service in a loud and overly happy casual atmosphere! Characters like Goofy and Donald walk around and interact with you, so be prepared if your kids are terrified of mascots like mine are. All you can eat and you serve yourself. Tons of offerings both healthy and not. Be sure to stuff yourself to get your moneys worth because it's insanely expensive!
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
I had a reservation at Storyteller's Cafe for Mickey's Adventure Breakfast on a Sunday, and even though I arrived an hour late, the staff was incredibly accommodating and still able to seat me, big points for hospitality! The food itself was average for a buffet-style brunch. I had an omelet, hashbrowns, and of course, Mickey waffles. While nothing stood out as exceptional, it was a satisfying meal, especially when paired with a refreshing mimosa. The real highlight was the character experience. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Chip & Dale made multiple visits to my table and were very interactive, not just with me but with all the guests. Their energy really brought the Disney magic to life and made the meal memorable. Overall, a great place if you're going for the character interactions more than the food. Would definitely return for the experience, however, I would suggest visiting for the dinner menu!

Sarynelli A.

Yelp
I think the main thing that should be judged here is the food -- it is a buffet after all. And I can say you will not be disappointed by the breakfast selections. Everything you can think of from sweet, savory, healthy, and not so healthy ;) Service was super friendly and accommodating and they made sure to let us know we could ask questions about anything. Also we got there a little before our reservation and were seated right away. As far as ambiance, the Grand Californian is one of the most beautiful hotels in the area and this room greatly reflects the magic of Disney and the Craftsman style architecture. We got to take tons of pictures with the characters who came by about every 10 minutes, so there was never a dull moment. The way everything is priced nowadays, the cost isn't much more than an average dining out experience. That, plus the experience of interacting with characters and seeing the look on your kid's face, makes this a no-brainer.

They also have Mickey waffles! How coool is that!!!!!??? :) StoryTeller Experience: Thought the characters dining was fun. Saw Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale (Might have gotten them annoyed. Not my fault that I can't tell them apart), and Pluto. You can also bring a autograph book so you can have the characters sign their names.

Yelp
Ehhhhhh. I spent about $60 (P.P ) for mediocre food. The service was fine, and the character interaction was good. The food items were okay--the meat was cooked to the right temperature, but the flavor was just average. The sides were not very good, and the dessert tasted cheap. Decor was nice . I will not be back and would not recommend it.

Yelp
I have to give this place 5 stars because the food is delicious. They don't just put frozen microwaveable food on the counter. You can tell the food is quality and served with fresh veggies/ fruit etc. Every time I went the servers were accommodating and friendly. The environment is clean, haven't seen the buffet area messy with spoiled food. Storytellers has characters out during dinner time now. Feel free to come dressed up as your favorite character as well I seen that here especially during this time of year for Halloween. Also, convenient connection to downtown Disney to shop and walk off your food. The only thing I would have to say is the pricing. But if it was cheaper I'm sure a reservation would be extremely hard to get. So book in advance!

Yelp
Key Points: - Best Character Breakfast of all. - Sirloin Beef Roast *drool* - Plenty of character interaction As of now, it seems the Fam and I have tried all Disneyland associated character breakfasts, including Plaza Inn, and Goofy's Kitchen. It seems we have a winner: Storyteller's is the best character breakfast of all! The elegant decor, easy access through Disney's California Adventure, and diverse character lineup made this place stand out. We came here for The Little One's birthday. The food, was certainly impressive. Here's some items that stood out to Me: - sirloin beef roast: some would call it a steak but technically it's not. It was tender, juicy, and beefy flavored, cooked to medium rare perfection. I'm guessing they used sous vide, with option for horseradish sauce. - bread pudding: not usually a fan but this time I was! - Beet salad: A delicious healthy option. - Omelette station: also included options for egg whites. The cook didn't need to write anything down and just remembered all the details of the orders. Wow! - Mickey Waffles: technically we've had better versions of these elsewhere but having an unlimited supply can't be beat. Characters we saw included Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale. The Little One had plenty of meet/greet time with them. She had a blast! While the frequent character performances were fun, they felt a bit excessive, and disrupted our ability to get up for food. Some people may like this though. Overall, a memorable experience and our go-to for character breakfasts if we go again.

Yelp
Been a long time since coming here Really was here for Donald Tales of Adventure Reservations highly recommend on the app to make adjustment and add dietary needs Was able to check in 20 mins prior in the app and receive text when table was ready Polite personable host and greeters This specific Buffett is limited role only from 4pm to 9pm with character dining to ideally see Donald daisy goofy Pluto clarabelle but of course no guarantees Buffett theme is catered toward bbq from brisket to ribs and fried chicken and prime rib and roast chicken along with a pasta of the day in this case lobster raviolis all the various sides from mash potato and crème corn and corkscrew Mac n cheese and fried items like fried chicken fried chicken strips and fried shrimp along with french fries plenty of salad selection fresh cut fruit and to make your own meat and cheese boars combo along with 2 types of sorbets that was watermelon and lime during my serving plus cookies different puddings and petite desserts Food was tasty and fresh, meat was tender, fried items were not greasy and crunchy exterior The mash potato crème corn my favorite and the Mac n cheese I would hope many kids would love Both hot and cold stations were well stocked and kept clean and tidy Our server Yoko continuously checked up on us and Kyrie? Was pleasant and friendly Can be loud but certainly exciting to see all the characters and eat tasty food I would recommend this place but knocked it a star because the booth provided though nice in the corner was a tight squeeze for our party of 5 making it slightly awkward to meet the character and be seated comfortably. 2nd because Donald who I was looking to seeing as he is my favorite literally skipped our table on 2 occasions but were able to meet everyone else eventually. Overall great experience and value and there is no time limit to complete your meal by. Dinner was $58 prior tax and gratuity and applicable discount and there is children pricing too. Family, kid, and adult friendly. Also they will provide a tour if one has dietary restrictions such as vegan vegetarian needs or GF and cook up specific offerings for you.

Yelp
Ambiance: 10+/10 Service: 10+/10 Food: 10+/10 My kids and I went to the Mickey's Autumn Adventures Brunch on a Friday and had rezzies for 1250pm. We arrived about 20mins before rezzies time and were seated by one of the nicest Front of House hosts, America, about 2mins later. We got cast member table waiter Daniel and he was the greatest! Very funny very friendly and he even made caffeine jokes with me! So much fun! Character interactions here have never been less than 9/10 or 10/10. Cast members and characters were all so attentive. So if you ever receive anything less than this, you probably just had a worker with one off day. they happen. (wait for my Galactic Grill review). Food. How should I put this.... I didn't grab every food choice but what I DID grab was nothing less than a 9/10! The chicken drumettes... my kids and I will rave about these till the end of time. So perfectly cooked and Juicy and tasty. if you're a chicken lover and not picky that it's not fried, THIS is the chicken to have here. The stars of the show, for me, Smoked Salmon and Pork Carnitas Chilaquiles! But the Chilaquiles were so tasty and perfectly spicy. Yes, it's spicy but not overtly where you're close to seeing the sky; but perfectly spicy enough to where you know what's goin on with the spicy. perfectly flavored and cooked carnitas (pork) wrapped in tastyfull (yes, I know it's not a word but it is now) and flavorful tortillas! Grab some if you go! (also check out Lamplight Lounge for their Chilaquiles)! I ordered a soda and the carbonation is... well. if you like McDonald's carbonation then you'll enjoy their sodas here. water was enjoyable too! overall, 15/10 per usual. we'll be back for the holidays :)

Yelp
Went to Storytellers Cafe for the first time and we went the day after we went the parks to conclude our Disney trip. Reservations were easy to make on the Disney app. Checked in on app and received a text when our table was ready. It is a very spacious dining area. The buffet didn't look like much at first glance but I was wrong! There was everything from breakfast items to sirloin steak. Everything was delicious and so far this has been the best character dining experience! There were 5 characters that made their rounds multiple times and they did a couple parades/dances as well. Our server was great. He checked on us often and made sure our drinks were full. We interacted with every character and love that they really take their time at each table. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Part of me wants to dock Storytellers Cafe for under-seasoned cauliflower, slightly soggy greens and especially for not having the Kale Salad that was on their menu that I was so excited to try. Then I remember that it's a buffet centered around meeting Disney characters and I realize it's really not so bad at all. Obviously I'd tweak the dishes (and not let people down by not having the items listed online), but with some hot sauce and an open mind, it's pretty satisfying. I'd recommend the Caprese Salad and Roasted Vegetables especially. The ambiance is as festive as you'd expect with ample Disney characters stopping by each table to spread cheer (shoutout to Chip). Not the best food at the resort and certainly not the best bang for buck (yikes), but it does what it's supposed to do pretty well.

Yelp
We recently did Clarabelle's Enchanted Halloween dinner at Storyteller's and it was awesome! The food was delicious and the characters were so cute! This is a buffet with a wide variety of food that both kids and adults will like. The lobster ravioli and salmon were amazing, but they also had standard "kid food" like pizza, Mac and cheese, etc. The cast member ensured that we were able to meet all 5 characters and my young daughters had an amazing time. I highly recommend this experience.

Yelp
Entering the hotel and the time spent at the restaurant definitely makes you feel the Disney magic a little bit, without actually going into the park. We went in September for dinner and it was Clarabelle themed. They offer you a pin with the dinner theme at the entrance. Food is buffet style. The food spread by itself could be better for the price point. However, the salads were surprisingly the best out of all of the items. Turkey was extremely soft too. Desserts could also be better but that's just my opinion since I love desserts. Service was great though. We ordered the hot tea included in the buffet and our server kept refilling the hot water without having to ask, which was nice. Highlight of the dinner is the experience of the characters coming to your table and interacting with you while you're eating. You can take pictures with them and feel like a kid again (if you're an adult haha)! They also do mini dances intermittently. All in all it was a fun experience but I wasn't the biggest fan of the food spread.

Yelp
This was our favorite restaurant, so we wanted to come back for a celebration! We recently came for our son's birthday, a large party of 8 (including a baby) and it cost us over $500 and a mandatory 20% tip. That's probably the craziest bill we have ever had EVER at a restaurant. We thought it would be worth it... No! Our party was given a table shoved in a corner and the restaurant was insanely busy and loud at 7:40am. The characters we saw were Daisy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. My kids were upset Mickey and Minnie are not part of Daisys Pajama Party, that's on me. They still loved the meet and greets, but the characters were too overworked! There may have been one more while I was up at the buffet. They were overall great, but it was way too busy. We barely saw our own server, when we did it was only in passing. Was it because our tip was guaranteed by policy? We had plenty of water and the other workers were good at keeping our table clean and clear, but it felt like we were moved in and out like cattle. She gave a lot of attention to other tables. It was like she wanted us to leave. Also FYI They don't do a cupcake or anything for birthdays anymore. Just a pin, which is cool, but we wanted to celebrate! It was pretty stressful overall with so many people and hard to hear and disappointing for all of us. The food is good, but not great, some things depending on the buffet. After this we unanimously decided we won't be going again. Thankfully we found a different Disney restaurant in Disneyland to celebrate with him and my son enjoyed it all anyway.

Yelp
I am a big Disney fan and we come here every year to have brunch as a family. Yes, a little expensive especially since we went this year during the holiday pajama party. Over sixty per person is a little steep - a 3 star for the price. Experience - 5 star coz I love the characters and how we can take photos with them. The food is pretty standard. For brunch, they have the standard - bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy, lox and bagels, lots of fruit, chilaquiles, pot roast, chicken, and let's not forget the mickey shaped waffles. We got there at 9:40am and stayed until almost 11. When you stay that late, the lunch items start coming out - popcorn shrimp, fries, and chicken tenders. Because we ate there, we were able to get our valet validated with free 3-hr parking. We walked around the hotel and took more photos since the tree was still up.

Yelp
The theming at storytellers is just that. Telling a story about dinner with Donald Duck and his friends. Having a nice camping trip filled with s'more's bread pudding. The servers are extremely attentive and never missed the opportunity to refill glasses or remove plates when finished. The feel of dinner from start to finish is just good ole reminiscent of camping with friends and family. This is a dinner buffet, all you care to enjoy. So enjoy!

Yelp
Staff is welcoming and attentive. Food selection was just right. It wasn't over whelming and it is kept clean with little to no messy food spills. The characters do a fun dance and interact with guest. To ensure we were seated we made reservations from the DL app.

Yelp
My friends and I went to Storytellers Café at the Grand Californian this past weekend. We had reservations when they first opened, and they weren't busy yet (many empty tables). This is a buffet style meal, there were many options and plenty of food. The busers were great, constantly checking in and clearing our empty plates, but the character attendants were slacking. We saw a couple of characters coming so we waited to get our food, and thank god we did! Because although characters appeared to be moving clockwise around the room the whole time, one time Donald went rogue and went counterclockwise so no one from our table got to see him, and he never came back. When we were next to see Goofy, it was time for their little show and break, so he missed us too. We told one of the servers/character attendants that we only saw half of the characters, and she said we weren't guaranteed to see them all. That was very surprising to me, in WDW I have seen characters twice sometimes at various character dining meals. Just not the same magic I was expecting, especially at that price point.

Yelp
This was a highly entertaining and pleasant experience for our family! First visit and was a lot of fun, the characters are great! Can't say enough good things about them coming by your table and are eager to engage with you and will sign any autograph books or items you want too! The food was delicious, we had high hopes but the chefs choices exceeded our expectations! We really had a great time. You can check in 20 min before your reservation and they will send you a text when your tables ready, we got a complimentary button as well upon entry. If you want to be seated before your reservation time though after checking in you will need to tell the staff at the from table because they will wait until your reservation time to seat you even if you checked in early. I highly recommend this and will come again soon! Definitely a wonderful time! Lots of smiles from us all thank you!

Yelp
I made reservations for Storytellers Cafe 60 days in advance because I saw that they were doing a Fall themed menu and decor. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time and were seating about 5 minutes after. Our server was very friendly and attentive - she brought us coffee and water and made sure to check on us frequently. As for the food, I do not think they offer nearly enough food options for the price. They had breakfast items and we left full, but I feel like they only offer the bare minimum - I have been to less expensive buffets that had a lot more options to choose from. Also, they have characters that walk around, but apparently not all the characters visit both sides of the restaurant? We were there for about an hour and only Chip, Dale and Pluto came over. We saw Minnie and Mickey, but they never once came over to our side to say hello. That was a bit of a letdown especially for my 8 year old daughter who was very much looking forward to seeing some characters. Overall, I don't think we would come back here given the price. I think the other character breakfast places like Goofy's is much better!

Yelp
This place is such a great place to get a little bit of everything when it comes to brunch.y favorites were definitely the fresh fruit and desserts. The character interaction is also super fun! Overall worth it

Yelp
I've been to Disneyland so many times, been a pass holder for many years and had never been here before. As a first timer I can say it was perfect! My baby loved it and had such a Fun time dancing and interacting with Minnie, Mickey, and everyone. Highly recommend. The food is tasty lots of healthy options compared to others and very convenient and clean .

Yelp
These character meals at Disney are expensive! Nothing is worse than paying a ton of $ for also crappy food. However, we did storytellers for breakfast and this was one of our favorite better quality meals. We also did goofys kitchen which was fun but the food was not near the quality of here. This place has a great brunch with a made to order omelette station, bacon, quiche, any kind of fruit you can imagine, Belgian waffles, Mickey shaped waffles, croissants muffins etc. You also get any kind of juice milk or tea included in your buffet price with free refills. Mickey Minnie chip and dale all come through the place with a staged dance then randomly spread throughout mingling among tables. We saw every character and were there for a little over an hour except for Minnie! Our waitress pao was very kind attentive and friendly she took photos of us and any need we had was addressed within seconds. I loved this place and would come again hands down!

Yelp
Was hyped about having my niece at Storytellers Cafe. They do go off of reservations so make sure to plan ahead of time. Upon arriving and checking in we did still wait 20 minutes. Once we were sat we went to their buffet style line to grab some food. It was ok. I did like how they had fresh fruits. It was nice that we were able to see some characters instead of the busy park.

Yelp
We had a 7:30 AM reservation here to celebrate after our RunDisney 10K. If you're a fan of character dining, this place is definitely for you. However, to be honest, the breakfast was very underwhelming. The only highlight for me was the make-your-own omelette station. Most of the pastries were dry, including the Mickey waffle, which was a bit disappointing. I also found it odd that the shredded hash browns were cooked in a spicy sauce. The carved ham was dry as well--I only had one bite. They did offer a fruit, yogurt, and oatmeal station with small, rock-hard bagels and some smoked salmon. On the bright side, the characters interacted with us a lot. Having an early reservation worked out well, as Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, and Dale paraded around the restaurant and stopped at each table. Although we were told Minnie was busy making waffles and didn't get a picture with her, the others came to our table twice. It seems like they've raised the prices recently--it cost $130 for two adults for an average breakfast, and they even charged extra for Iced Americano refills. With tax and tip, it added up quickly. Honestly, I think I'm still comparing it to the amazing breakfast buffet we had at the Hong Kong Disneyland hotel last year, which was the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, Storyteller's Cafe just didn't measure up to the Disney standard.

Yelp
The restaurant is inside the Grand California Hotel. Valet parking only. Long line to valet. They do give 3hrs validated parking. We came to celebrate our anniversary but no one seems to ask if you're here to celebrate any occasion. We did see on the app you can add a cake for $40. We went for brunch. The food is buffet style and didn't seem like a big buffet but let's just say I did not go home hungry. They have quite a selection from omelet server to a variety of pastries, your usual breakfast layout of eggs and bacon then there is a meat carving station and selection of salads, yogurt and cereal. Nonalcoholic drinks are included in the price. Pricing however did change. When we had booked the reservation it was posted at $55. Our bill was a bit large and upon checking the site it is now $65 per person. The experience was cute. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale came around the tables a few times. We felt bad not wanting to take up too much of their time for pictures but they did not give rushy vibes. They stayed and mingled and noticed they interacted with kids of all ages, being mindful not to scare the littler ones.

Yelp
We were well taken care of by the wait staff. The food is fresh a a good variety of choices. We went for breakfast , I like how organised the lines to get food and that the servers get your beverage. The cutest part are the Disney characters. It is a good family atmosphere. Everyone seems to be treated special. I love it.

Yelp
This is easily the best bang for your buck when it come to Disney meals. For a little over $40/person with kids under 3 for free, eat as much as you want. Eggs, omelettes, pastries, cereal, bacon, sausage, Mickey Waffles, and so much more will be available. Seating is spacious and comfortable, plus you get characters coming to your table to entertain your little ones. Service is extremely expedient and everything else you need to order comes in minutes inside the comfort of an actual restaurant. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Having last visited this restaurant at the start of last year, I liked the large amount of seating available (booth or table) and music playing at a moderate volume but was disappointed in the vegan breakfast option of a omelette made of hash browns containing vegetables as well as fresh fruit, vegan Mickey Mouse shaped waffles, and oatmeal. Upon entering the restaurant recently, our group was warmly greeted and quickly seated. After I informed our server Matthew that I was vegan, the kitchen's chef Christian came out and shared with me which items were vegan on breakfast bar and added that waffles and yogurt were also available and that the yogurt is nut based. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised to see a vegan omelette made with vegan egg, vegan cheese, and vegan soyrizo along with vegan Mickey Mouse shaped waffles, vegan yogurt with granola, hash browns, and oatmeal. When I approached the made to order omelette station, I was elated to see a sign with vegan options clearly note. After having my vegan omelette made by the friendly chef, I returned to my table and enjoyed my breakfast while my friend and her son enjoyed interacting with the various Disney characters that came by during our meal. having finished my big breakfast of the vegan omelette, yogurt with granola, Mickey Mouse shaped waffles, and fruit, I left the restaurant feeling satisfied but not stuffed and excited about my next opportunity to eat at the restaurant.

Yelp
I'm giving this a little bit of grace by giving it 4 stars. I've been to the cafe for dinner when it was at the GCH. Right now, it's in a conference room since GCH is being renovated. We made reservations and when we got there (after much walking and going through essentially a maze of hotels from DCA), the hostess said we could check out the food before committing since the buffet offerings were much more limited than their usual buffet but at the same price. Indeed.... The buffet offerings were more limited but we nonetheless decided to sit down and eat. They let us bring in our stroller and park it at the table. What food they did have was yummy and we went back for seconds and thirds. However, until the storyteller cafe goes back to its original location, I'd say wait bc the price is not fully worth it for a limited offering. For us, it was at least okay since we have the magic key discount.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance and service! So cute inside and was a nice break from the crowded park. Pricey but the food is high quality. It's different than a typical buffet in that there aren't that many choices but the choices they had were very good (especially the salmon and prime rub) it also comes with beverages and if you ask they bring ice cream. We went during the lunar new year time and weren't very impressed with the deserts. But in the past we've really liked the desserts. My family also loved the 2 types of shrimp offered.

Yelp
I love character dining! It's one of my favorite thing to do, even if I don't go to one of the parks, I will drive out for a meal. Which exactly is what I did at Storytellers Cafe, located inside the Grand Californian this past Monday. I went to Mickey's Tales of Adventure Brunch Buffet with a friend who has an Inspire key so it was easy to get a reservation and get a discount! The cozy Craftsman-style dining room is a warm, friendly backdrop while the character roam the restaurant to greet guests. The characters for breakfast and brunch were Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale, dressed in their explorer outfits. FOOD: The buffet includes hand-carved meats, fish of the day, chilaquiles, croissants, muffins, danishes, fruits, eggs, bacon, hash browns, Mickey Waffles, an omelet station and a dessert bar! Everything I had was delicious. I had an omelette, bacon, prime rib, fries, caprese salad, gluten free Mickey waffle and fruit. Gluten-free Mickey Waffles available! You just have to order it with your server but I was disappointed in the lack of gluten free options. My only gluten free dessert option was the soft serve or a gf blueberry muffin (I went for the muffin and it was ok). DINNER: The current dinner time is not character dining, but starting mid-May 2025, it'll be Donald's Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet with Donald, Daisy, Clarabelle, Goofy, Pluto. It's a BBQ menu. I can't wait to try it and report back! SERVICE: Just like all the other Disney properties, the staff and cast members are all professional, friendly and want to make sure you're having a good time. A staff came over and asked my friend if we met all the characters. CHARACTERS: There's actually quite a lot of character interaction opportunities during the meal. They stop by every table to greet all their guest- kids and adults! When they play the 'song', all the staff claps and all the characters dance around all the tables. I always have a good time at character dining! Good food and fun photo oops with the Disney characters.

Yelp
Safari Disney adventure times can be found at storytellers cafe with an amazing character best friend including Mickey and friends. They give ample time to all tables with plenty of characters and if you're there long enough, you get to enjoy a couple of visits from your best Disney pals. They take pictures of you and come to your table for ease. The food is a huge buffet style with American and Mexican cuisine. I didn't go for the food but I sure did enjoy it, especially the infamous Mickey waffles but you can practically get those anywhere. It's very busy and expect to be waiting for seating even with a reservation...can't escape that aspect of Disney no matter where you go. Mickey's adventure breakfast truly is a memory for the books.

Yelp
Are they tricking me? The website says they are open but the menu is different and I'm paying for mediocre food. What is happening?
google avatar

Edgar Q.

Yelp
This is a mixed review only because the service was amazing and the food was ok. I would say it is the smallest selection of food I have ever seen. It is also on the pricier side of buffets for the food. However I did realized that the price is including the experience of having the characters there and taking pictures. Overall our family enjoyed it, but will I go back probably not unless I was taking someone new who hasn't experienced it. The place is very loud by 9 am The only thing I was a bit concerned about was the fact that we ordered a birthday cake in our reservation that was never brought out.

Yelp
We went on Saturday before the closing for remodel. We had a reservation and the restaurant closed at 9pm. The restaurant had reconfigured the buffet to one long line. The beginning is fresh fruit, shrimp, multiple types of fresh salad, kid friendly food and multi side dishes. The main meat courses were prime rib and turkey . If you have allergies Disney tries to accommodate them. Dessert has endless possibilities but I love the bread pudding. Service is fast for your drinks and someone is always refilling your drinks. Pricey but a once in a while treat. The restaurant is designed like your in Yosemite with exploring phrases and Disney music plays while you eat.
