Stouthaus Coffee - Sunset Valley is one of my favorite spots in the area! The vibe is super relaxed and welcoming, whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee or hanging out for a while. Their coffee is consistently excellent—smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. I also love that they offer craft beers and light bites, which makes it a great spot to transition from day to evening. The pastries are fresh and tasty (highly recommend giving them a try!). Plus, the staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s a perfect place to meet up with friends or get some work done. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

Love this place!! Best coffee shop around. I enjoy getting a small latte with one of their syrups that (I believe) are house made. My favorite is Mexican vanilla! I love their iced lattes but you can’t go wrong with their hot lattes either. The espresso itself is so good and the syrup doesn’t drown it out in sweetness. I can’t speak on their beer or pastry selection. The baristas are friendly and they are consistent! I highly recommend trying out this coffee shop if you’re in the area :)

I really like their coffee. I’ve gotten their vanilla and maple latte with oatmilk, both are really good. The is a decent amount of seating but most of it is wooden seat so it’s not always the most comfy. The noise level is perfectly moderate and I really enjoyed the playlist as I did work.

We asked about frozen drinks, barista clapped his hands and replied, "thank God no we don't have a blender." Very unprofessional. My daughter ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte with whip and they handed it to her overflowing with no way to place a lid on it. It did not taste good. At all. After spilling it and deciding she couldn't drink it, she didn't feel comfortable asking the barista for a different drink so we trashed it and left. I ordered the nitro coffee and it could have been decent but they only offer 1 alternative sweetener and I don't care for it. Overall I don't recommend this place, we found another small shop to support and we were very happy with that. Wish we would have tried that first.

This place consistently serves delicious coffee, and probably has my favorite iced oat latte. The espresso is lightly sour and fruity and they have the good crunchy ice! The service is also always very warm and charming, and I love coming here to study and work.

Great spot for a delicious coffee and brews. I spent a few hours here to get work done and was good environment. Had a delicious pastry, the golden latte with a shot of espresso and a hint of vanilla is highly recommended. The guava sour and coder were fantastic too. Thank you!!

Truly exceptional service and atmosphere. Best homemade yogurt parfait around. What makes this place truly special is the thought that goes into their creations, both the amazing craft of the baristas and the intentionality of ownership. For instance, they spent two months carefully experimenting with recipes/coffee to develop the perfect cold brew. I was along for the ride, and they certainly succeeded.

I really like this spot as a remote working location. Seems to always be busy with some interesting looking people. There was no line to order a drink, and it came out quickly. I got a matcha oat milk latte ($7.50) and she recommended I add some lavender syrup to it - it was pretty good! Internet was fast, temperature was fine inside and all the tables stayed full. Outdoor seating as well, but it's right on 290 so it's pretty loud. Overall a cool spot I will definitely come back to.

Went there on a Saturday and was surprised to find the place PACKED with people on their computers.. The place is super cute, and the prices are ok ($12 for a tall matcha latte with all the bells and whistles a coffee can have, and a vanilla latte). I removed one star because I waited what felt like FOR EVER for my 2 coffees, the pick up area is in the middle of the room and it's awkward to stand there. My vanilla latte also wasn't the best I've had. Pro-tip: they have a different happy hour every day

Woke up today and decided to find some new coffee places to try out and this is one of my favorites!!! The team member behind the counter were so friendly and place just oozed comfortability. I ordered the regular Chai iced and it was really good! It had a very robust Chai flavor to it which I happen to enjoy a lot, when iced it always tastes so good and this place nailed it! And for under $5 you can't go wrong. They had a coffee bar that seats up to 8. They have a nice outdoor seating area that would've been great to use if it wasn't to cold today If you guys are ever around here, stop by and have these amazing people behind the counter make you something tasty. Other customers ordered pastries and they all smelled so amazing! The place was full of a mixture of coffee, pastries & good music. If that wasn't enough to bring you guys here all the other drinks are very reasonably priced as well!

Terrible coffee given without lids or straws made really half hearted by employees talking about "temu" and streaming. I watched them pump hersheys chocolate syrup into my cup for flavor. It was clumpy and stuck to the inside of the cup. Tasted terrible like somebody gave me chocolate syrup without a hint of coffee. Don't come here there's no good coffee and no good service that you will find. Go try plaza Colombian coffee or Radix coffee instead. And the devil image is weird along with the vibe of the place. I'm honestly shocked that they sell their brand of coffee bean as well because I couldn't even taste the coffee in the drinks here it was soo weak and nasty.

Nice open space with lots of seating options, both inside & out. WiFi was quick, employees are nice, & coffee is great. I tried the strawberry rose latte which wasn't too sweet & the strawberry was pretty subtle.

Katie B and I were in the mood to be productive for majority of the time, but we also wanted a chance to giggle and catch up. What's nice about Stouthaus is how easy you can transition from coffee to beer in a snap. There is plenty of indoor seating inside and their wifi connection is super strong. This is more of a productivity spot or a place to catch up, but just be aware many of their bites are pre-packaged as they don't have a kitchen. I had a bagel dog which hit the spot and they were able to warm it up. When you're ready for a beer check out their menu on the wall which is like ordering from a fast food place. Short and sweet and to the point. I decided to opt for the Forever Whatever Hazy IPA from Zilker Brewing. It was the perfect choice and I loved it. This place has a friendly staff and they even offer a rewards system so make sure to sign up for it! My favorite part was how it wasn't a coffee shop and everyone was super quiet, there was enough of a noise level to where you could converse freely. Limited food more baked goods

It I have to leave the house on WFH days, I try to stop somewhere for a change of scenery. I turned to my Yelpers to see where I should go and of course you led me to a winner! I have to face driven by here hundreds of times and never realized it was there, along with their neighbors. I had a peppermint mocha with almond milk and it was perfection. Before I left I also had a Greek yogurt parfait and it was the perfect amount of sweet for me. The place was full but not noisy. It was the perfect atmosphere for me. I need some distraction, but not chaos. I imagine most others were working. The guy at the bar next to me was drawing. Several cute dogs came through, too. I also happened to be there during shift change. All four people were delightful and the right amount of chatty. I overheard them saying they had bagel dogs and adult pizza rolls, so I'll be back for those. I will definitely bring my husband back for beers one evening. Why aren't you here?!

This place is easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. Of you do end up passing it just keep driving! Honestly, it's not worth the price. We got a chai latte and I threw it away. I'm not sure what brand tea they use or if it was an old box but it tasted spoiled, could have been the milk. It did have a nice outdoor sitting area and you will want to use it, or at least that day we did. It seems the AC was broken. It was hard to breath it was so stuffy inside. I felt bad for the counter people. I have no desire to return.

I've gone here twice now, and I love the atmosphere for working or just chilling. I've only gotten their coffee and OJ, but they have a wide selection of over a dozen beers too. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was pretty busy inside, with most seats taken on a hot Friday afternoon. However, the patio has plenty of seating and is undercover to stay cool. Also plenty of parking available! If you order for here, they put your coffee in a beer glass which is cool. I also really like that they offer complimentary simple syrup and half and half at the little coffee station by the door.

Great coffee and drinks, not a lot of pastry selection but what they do have is yummy. The service is good and the ambiance is basic but a good WFH vibes. Can get busy on the weekend but that's to be expected in Austin.

Love the ambiance of this place and how it smells of fresh bread and coffee. Friendly staff and the berry bagel special was amazing in both taste and presentation. Highly recommended!

Thought I was going to give up on good coffee in Austin but then I was introduced to this wonderful cafe Their coffee are amazing and I love the location, next to them is a bakery Casper Fermentables that sells great pastries - sourdough, bagels, cinnamon rolls. I only drink espresso based drinks doused in milk so I love my mocha. My partner loves his Americano though. This is a good place to work/study - it has low to moderate noise level and a very cozy environment. Most people come here to work anyway so it doesnt get noisy. There is outdoor seating too.

Such a phenomenal cortado! You better believe I'll be going back for their sour beer tonight

The Mexican mocha and breakfast tacos are incredible. Definitely worth stopping in - this has become a regular morning stop for me every time I'm in the area.

Great place to work! Each desk has access to an extension chord and the coffee is pretty good. There's a good amount of seating outdoors - it's right next to a highway though so it's fairly loud

The bagels here are probably the best I've ever had. Although I admit I'm not huge on bagels. We ordered the egg & cheese and the everything bagel w/ roasted garlic cream cheese. Crispy on the outside and so warm and chewy on the inside. They also have a cinnamon roll as big as your face and we're gonna be back to try it! Would've posted pics but we ate everything so fast it was so yummy!

I love this spot. Service is great, the chai is solid, and there's plenty of space to hang. I wish they had some gluten free pastries. I look forward to returning.

Micro brews served in a coffee house? Yes, please. This is a great place to do that last bit of computer work you've been putting off. That last 45 minutes of stuff you've been putting off. Come in. Order a coffee (today's house brew was from Ethiopia), soak in the ambiance, power through whatever important task you've been putting off. And then reward yourself with a microbrew. Perfect. It's not a place to carry on a loud conversation. It's not a party-up beer joint at all. It's really chill, in a very special way. Kudos who whomever came up with this concept. Specialty brews of both types in a perfect marriage. Brilliant! Come on over. There's a couch waiting for you.

The banana muffin was pretty good, not the best ever but good enough. My mocha was also pretty good, I needed to a little simple syrup to make it my sweetness level. My boyfriend got an orange juice and cold brew that he enjoyed! Inside is a cute vibe, high ceilings, Star Wars decor, and good music at a good volume! Lots of people working inside so seating is limited, especially since seating itself is a little limited inside. But there's more seating outside as well (just too hot in June). The service is quick and friendly! Will be back!

We frequented this spot during our first few months in Austin. It was spacious inside and outside - lots of seating, and it's not too loud inside. Outside, however, it gets pretty loud as you have the entrance to the Highway close by. They have a good selection of brew and coffee drinks. Sometimes they have some vegan chocolate donuts, which were a delight! Always friendly staff, good wifi if you want to work. Shared bathrooms with the other businesses in the building.

Come here at least once a week! Baristas are very kind & the coffee is always delicious. Always a great spot for a hot latte or cortado to read, study or do some work quietly. Wifi is good & strong for zoom calls. Dog friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. They once had a gratitude list spot where you could add sticky notes of what you were grateful for! I love that! The music is always great and so is the service. Only gave 4 stars but I wouldn't really recommend the tacos because I don't think they're anything hype! They cater them in each day. Have yet to try the bakery treats but they look yummy. I do think they could up their food game a bit and that would make it 5 stars for me!! Still will be back often because great coffee & service

Enjoyed our coffee and it was a comfortable place to spend the morning working. Parking is easy

First time visit for me and I was pleased with the overall ambiance. Very laid back and chill which is a hidden gem. You'll notice folks working remotely and other areas occupied with friends catching up and mingling quietly. It's sort of tucked away but once you find it, it's definitely a good spot to frequent if you're a remote worker, coffee and/or beer lover. Overall solid spot - I do recommend.

Very friendly place. But the coffees were too sweet and the hot coffee had to be heated in the microwave as it was lukewarm when we got it. Cute place with nice indoor/outdoor seating.

Currently there is alot of construction happening nearby so I would try to get here early to find parking and seating inside especially in this Texas Heat!! First impressions: I love the theme of Star Wars in different spots of the coffee shop inside! Good size space for seating both inside & outside, but I ended up coming in later in the morning where all the indoor seats were taken. It's a great spot if your looking to get away and not work from home WiFi speeds were decent. Thoughts on coffee menu I give it a 4 out of 5 on the based on good variety of selection. And I give it a 3.5 out of 5 on the drink I ordered based solely on this one specific drink which was the "Dirty Chai Latte" was not as bad, but not memorable the "spicy" factor of Chai was not present which I look for in a good Chai latte. I would definitely come back and try something else!

This place is hidden, quiet, clean, and has charging ports everywhere. If I lived in this area, I would definitely come here to work or study. Places with coffee and beer are always a plus. The staff was nice as well.

On my visit here on a Sunday since I was in the area shopping, there was a line out to the door, but it moved quickly. The sign at the front door indicates they serve tacodeli tacos. To the left of the coffee menu sign, another smaller sign has their homemade syrup flavors. Inside there are plenty of couches, tables and even a bar area facing a tall wall where they play various shows. The day I came they were playing the world cup. I ordered the Mexican vanilla latte, a Jess special breakfast taco (from tacodeli), and a chocolate croissant. Everything was delicious and i loved the modern interior..

Have been here several times and this place never fails to impress! Located in a little industrial looking park off the highway with a large parking lot - Stouthaus is the best of both worlds for your coffee AND beer needs. I've had lattes, Matchas, mochas (and the list goes on) here and the flavor is delightful. One of my favorite spots in Austin for coffee. They have a wide variety of pastries and breakfast tacos as well. The space itself is very open and spacious, with loads of tables with outlets inside and a bunch of large picnic tables outside as well for the sunshiny days... if it's under 100 that is. They offer wifi and restrooms so I come and work from here often as the wifi might even be better than my house. To top things off the theme is Star Wars with little icons around the bar which made it feel so unique and fun! The baristas are amazing as well, kind and attentive to your needs. Check this place out next time you're looking for a coffee or a fun time with some brews!

Loved the staff, first time coming in after a while Sam the barista made my experience after not being a welcome home. Coffee is great, and hey offer some bites too along with other non-coffee varieties (tea, sparkling, and alcohol). There is great spacing if you're a WFH or just coming in for a short while! Awesome spot!

It's a hidden gem! It doesn't seem super active given the location but lots of outdoor and indoor seating as well as parking. The coffee is alike to many other shop but vibes were right and staff was kind!

Super excited about this place! Made my way down to south Lamar today to try out Stouthaus while I work. I was surprised to see so many people here on a Monday morning as its a little bit out of the way. However after trying their coffee I can see why! I ordered the Mexican Vanilla Latte (12oz - iced) for $4.75+$1 tip. Despite the amount of traffic coming through and a few orders being ahead of me, my latte was up in a matter of minutes! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of natural cinnamon flavor that came through and how balanced it was with the vanilla and espresso flavors. It offered a little bit of a kick that was not overwhelming but greatly appreciated. I personally love cinnamon in my coffee but find a lot of places either use overwhelming artificially flavored syrups or just sprinkle a little dash of cinnamon on top which fails to carry the flavor throughout the drink. This was neither of those! I was impressed by the baristas attention to detail and knowledge about pulling espresso. I listened as he explained to someone else that he had pulled a split shot for him and how the flavors (and volume) may be a tad different for each cup since the puck distribution is not always perfect and the resulting pull can be a little uneven. It seems most baristas these days have no idea about these factors and their effects and many locations rely automatic espresso machines, giving them no control over this. In addition to their coffee menu (which included espresso options, cold brews, drip coffees and nitro iced coffee as well as a variety of tea and tea lattes), they also had 18 options on draft including kombucha, various ciders and coffee or milk stouts. Their was plenty of seating options both indoor and out, as well as wifi (available with purchase). The music and noise levels were low making it an ideal place to crank out some work! Overall, the service and the coffee were great! And I will absolutely be back!

This place is like a vinyl record in a world of streaming - the embodiment of old-school charm meets hipster-chic, with a vibe smoother than their velvety lattes. And the coffee... Oh, the coffee! So good it could make a cat bark. However, I'm penning this poetic tribute with a slight buzz of annoyance. You see, despite the symphony of caffeine-induced creativity that Stouthaus masterfully orchestrates, there's always a rogue trombonist in the brass section - the Loud Phone Talker. For reasons that baffle me, some folks seem to think that coffee shops are their personal phone booths, and Stouthaus is no exception. It's a bizarre ritual, these people popping on their headphones, cranking up the volume, and yelling into their device as though it's a baked bean can connected by a piece of twine. The conversations aren't your typical, casual chatter, oh no. They speak as if they're negotiating world peace or talking down a hostage situation. It's disconcerting, to say the least. What happened to the basic principles of public decorum? Have they been usurped by this need to transform a serene cafe into a telemarketing hub? So here's my plea to Stouthaus, and let's see if it can echo louder than a certain clientele's conference calls: a 'no phone call' policy, pretty please. We're here for the blend of rich conversations, chilled ambience, and stellar caffeine offerings - not to eavesdrop on Dave from accounting's client progress report. Still, despite this cellular cacophony, my love for Stouthaus hasn't waned. Therefore, I award them 5 stars, minus a decibel or two for Dave. Just remember: sip, savour, and if necessary, go outside for your call. That's the secret blend to truly enjoying this gem of a coffee shop.

I came to Stouthaus coffee pub in a chill weekend. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing and savoring a cup of coffee. The nitro cold coffee is decent. It's creamy enough and you can easily taste the special sweet nitro coffee flavour. The barista was friendly to give us an overview of their coffee selection. They also provided draft beer which was brewed in Austin locally.

Good nearby coffee shop that I frequent to get some work done. The wifi is good enough and the ambiance is nice for work. I go for the nitro cold brew which is wonderful on a hot day. I have noticed that it's getting quite crowded and there often isn't enough seating.

Good coffee, food and service! My Mexican vanilla latte was great and so was my walnut cream scone!

An iced coffee a day keeps the doctor away! This was my first visit to Stouthaus and I loved the vibe. So much work space inside and the outside patio was very shaded with large umbrellas and natural shade. They have a variety of coffee and beer selections as well as several pastries to pick from. The iced oatmilk vanilla latte was the perfect pairing to the buttery croissant I ordered. Flaky, flavorful and filling. There are plenty of outlets inside if you are looking to work from there however the outside doesn't have any so come with a charged laptop if you intend to work outside.

We went to stouthaus on Friday early afternoon, they have few tables outside and few inside with socially distanced, lady who took our order was kinda robotic. we ordered cappuccino, coffee and cinnamon roll, post covid we are mostly doing takeouts but while we were waiting for the order we saw staff sanitizing table and chairs in between each customers so we felt comfortable to sit and enjoy the coffee there itself. Cappuccino was good but little thin, coffee was pretty good, cinnamon roll was just ok. Overall, definitely worth a visit and really appreciate the way they're handling the business in pandemic!

If you're looking for both coffee and beer, this place has it. Limited pastries. Coffee is okay - I find it a bit too burnt for my liking. Beer selection is good - lots of craft beer and good options from tap. Communal space is great for working, studying, and hanging out - although not much space outdoors (it fronts a highway anyways).

Been coming here off and on for years. Small hidden spot that's very popular while quiet enough to work, study or read. Coffee and teas options are okay, used to be a lot better, not sure what changed. There are better coffee and tea options elsewhere if you're looking for that. Ownership is very friendly and attentive. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. A+ on the customer service part. Very much your neighborhood coffee house. Inside seating is limited due to its size but spaced out well. AC temp must be set by a senior citizen. Nearly had a heat stroke while seating inside. Avoid in the summer months. Chairs are so heavy you could probably cave in someone's skull if you could lift the chairs over your head. Outdoor seating is great. Fantastic outdoor seating to bring your dog along or to have a group study group outdoors. Overall, a friendly quite spot with okay coffee and limited AC indoors. Great place to come when it's cold outside.

Cool Austin vibe coffee joint with plenty of parking. Met a client here a few days ago and it was a great experience. Friendly staff, great drinks, and if you're looking to get a workout in, try to lift and or move their barstools. Serious calories burned, folks.

A nice open cafe by the highway. There's a number of seats with surprisingly heavy chairs. The outdoor seating is very spacious but it's pretty loud with the cars zooming past us. The pumpkin spice latte was okay. Not amazing. My friend says her cappuccino is just like any other. The WiFi is solid. There are real and fake outlets (literally a sticker on the wall lol). It's a nice place to work or study. I like the temperature and the music is an okay volume. I'd come back!

Not impressed. Chai latte was majority milk and tasted like milk with a splash of chai. Had to make a new drink when I returned home (that's pretty sad). Also, I couldn't find a seat indoors because every table was taken by a laptop user. So I got an overpriced drink, left a 20% tip for a bad barista and left annoyed because I couldn't find a place to sit. A good barista would make a better chai & say hello when you walk in. Will not be returning. No music or any background noise either. Just not my cup of tea, clearly.

coffee is amazing. im from socal and my friends from new york all approved it. we heard it was good and it did not disappoint. i got a latte with oat milk and lavender vanilla syrup. apparently they're syrups are house made! food & matcha is mid tbh, i wouldn't get their oatmeal (tasted instant) or chia pudding. but if you're looking for the best coffee this is the place

This is definitely our 'neighborhood coffee shop,' in that it's the closest to where I live and I couldn't be happier. The staff is so kind, friendly, helpful. They have great coffee and their homemade syrups are the bomb. Also has a chill vibe and plenty of places/big tables to work.

I came in on a Saturday afternoon and the whole outdoor patio was occupied so I was expecting there to be a line inside. I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to order right away! I got an iced cinnamon sugar latte with almond milk which came out to about $6.25. The price is a little steep, but the flavor and milk substitute added about $2. The coffee came out relatively fast and was pretty good! The cinnamon was subtle, but the coffee was smooth and rich. My fiancé and I both enjoyed it! I don't know if I would come out of my way for this coffee, but if I was in the area I would definitely stop by again! The location is convenient and there are other businesses on the same strip to try out as well. I would recommend coming here and getting some coffee to go!

My boyfriend and I LOVE this little coffee shop. We are coffee snobs and this is the one place by our house that we trust to always do it right. Can't even count how many times we have ordered here and have never once had our order done incorrectly. The inside area is usually a little busy if you're looking for somewhere to sit and work but there's usually at least a table to sit at. Their outside seating is almost always open too (and is dog friendly!). If you get there early enough in the mornings you can snag a Tacodeli breakfast taco too (we love having these so close to us. Nearest Tacodeli is about 20 minutes away). There is always ample parking in their lot and the baristas are always fast friendly and helpful! If you haven't tried this place you need to!

Came here on a weekend afternoon and tried a local hefeweizen, the rose latte, and a brownie. The beer was tasty, and the rose latte was super smooth. The brownie was decadent and rich, with a crisp exterior and chewy interior. I like their patio space, but their inside space could do with more comfortable seating. Overall, service was good.
