Such a charming, cool, vibey atmosphere! Not only do you feel like your stepping into a trendy dimly lit cosy restaurant- but you also greeted by the most friendly staff. Our waiter was so amazing. He really displayed what true hospitality looks like. Not only was he super helpful at making recommendations to suit all our dietary needs - but he also gave us pre warnings of things that might be spicy (without us even asking- hallelujah!!!! Can all places please do that!!). I went against his recommendation and got the chicken vermicelli noodle salad- and it was very simple (but nice!). My friend got the XAO chicken noodles which he recommended and they were soooo tasty! Almost like a pad see ew. He absolutely loved the spicy salmon sashimi too, There are loads of vegetarian and GF options here. Would highly recommend.

Food? Phenomenal. Service? Couldn’t commend it more. Price? Their lunch special was an absolute steal. If you’re looking for a lunch spot, this is the place to be. Highly recommend their Vietnamese salad and chicken wings!

Perfectly seasoned dishes, packed full of umami mouthwatering flavours. This is a great Vietnamese restaurant in a casual setting. Booking ahead advised as tables are hard to get. We ordered crispy tofu bao buns, lemongrass beef salad and tofu Asian broccoli and a refreshing Saigon beer to wash it all down. €125 If you like and appreciate this review please give it a like or a thumbs up so that I know what content to include in future reviews.

Feel like we found a hidden gem here! Lovely ambiance in a small, yet spacious dining environment, with nice decor and option for outdoor dining. Great varied menu, and drinks included!! Shared some small plates as were not feeling hungry enough to tackle the MASSIVE portions of the large plates. Food was tasty - spring rolls and the bao were the highlights. Would absolutely return! The service was actually outstanding too, with the food coming almost instantaneously and such friendly outgoing staff. Thank you !!!

Wow! Straight Outta Saigon was outta this world! I am convinced you cannot order a bad thing…or even mediocre. From cocktails to food, everything tasted amazing!!! Highly recommend the Hanoi Highball cocktail and the Shaking Beef Dish. On top of everything tasting great, their Saigon Social deal makes the bill a steal! My only complaint is that the staff could have been a bit friendlier, but they weren’t rude at all.

Possibly the best value for money restaurant around when you take into consideration the quality of the food. The bao buns are a stand out, as is the shaking beef. Unfortunately didn't have room for dessert which is unusual for me. The guy who served us was the friendliest man alive, unsure of his name, but he was British and a really great bloke. All in all the restaurant is phenomenal and well worth a visit.

This Vietnamese restaurant is quite good, but there are a few small issues that need improvement. I think the service quality and restaurant atmosphere are both decent. However, the dishes are too salty and don’t really have the authentic Vietnamese taste—it feels like they have been modified too much. Aside from that, everything else is pretty good! 🇻🇳

OK VIETNAMESE FUSION CAFE ON RUSSELL STREET in MELBOURNE CBD. Small cafe just off Bourke St so is a good option location-wise for a pre-theatre meal. Food quality varies - the salmon sashimi was great but it kind of went down hill from there. The crispy fried rice (with prawns) was oddly sweet and the shaking beef was really tough. We struggled to find much tofu in the eggplant and tofu curry. Drinks wise - my glass of sauvignon blanc ($16) was fine and they freely offer tap water. Booth tables are comfortable and fairly spacious. Also has outdoor dining and some bar stools. People with mobility issues will be fine if seated outdoors but will struggle with the toilets which are shared with a nearby bar and are two flights of stairs up.

Yelp
The restaurant looks cute so we were eager to try it out, but it turned out to be not great at all. The restaurant was not full, and yet it took a few minutes to seat us. Then when I asked to sit in a specific spot (my back was injured and I needed something to lean on instead of a backless seat) - the waitress looked really put off. It was super hot that day, so I was willing to let that slide. However when I got the food it was really bland and I couldn't even finish it because it wasn't worth the effort. My friend thought her food was okay but admitted that it wasn't great. I always talk about how good the food is in Australia, and this sadly had the honor of being the worst meal I had this last trip. The experience didn't live up to the cute decor.
