Hey!!! @AllFunNewYork from instagram here again! :) sooo I love ordering from this place but this is my first time at the actual place. And wow I was surprise! Awesome vibes with a full bar in the back and pool table! You order in the front of the place - we got the chicken sandwiches and of course the animal frieesss and they are one of my favorites easily in Brooklyn! Yummmyyyy we also had some drinks as well. definitely recommend.

The burger is delicious, very affordable and we love it there. Love the meal quality, get the Dusty dog and the Grumpy meal! Perfect to share and great taste. Definitely recommend this place! Amazing!

This is my favorite chicken sandwich in NYC (follow @chickysammy.nyc) The chicken is crispy, saucy, flavorful. The batter on the chicken has a nice array of spices on it as well. The cilantro is a perfect touch. The fries could use some improvement.

Been coming here to hang and order food for about a decade. The burgers and the chicken sandwich are some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Paid it with a 9 dollar painkiller cocktail

We came here on a Tuesday to split a grumpy meal with animal fries. Everything was great. We sat ourselves in a booth in the back where The Johnson bar was. We would come back with a group.

I can't honestly say if the food was good because I couldn't eat any of it. My sister and I got burgers and animal fries which were way too spicy. I took one bite of my burger and had two fries. I ordered her a wine and a ginger ale then had to get another drink because I had to spend $20 to use a card. If spice doesn't bother you then give it a shot. Everything came out to about $50 for the both of us so it's not too expensive but be warned everything was spicy. The Mayo, the ketchup even the ginger ale.

The burgers and fries here are badass! So yummy and awesome! Great drinks too! And Renata, who took our order at the front, was so friendly and made sure all of our requests were taken care of even when she had a million orders! Highly recommend!

GET THE CHOP BURGER. if you see bad reviews and they had the plain burger, respectfully, disregard. the chop burger is a flavor journey. “i can confidently say it was the best and most unique burger i’ve ever had” - my best friend (if you don’t like cilantro, it may not be for you. it’s a key part of the wow factor.) the chicken sandwich is also good. not as unique but a solid chicken sandwich.

great burger spot - ordered for take out & got the pop's burger with animal fries. had the best time eating this cozy meal with a movie. also, i recommend getting a side of special sauce if you love a saucey burger

Strange Flavor is located inside The Johnsons, so my partner and I decided to give it a try while we were there. We ordered a Grumpy Meal and Dusty Dog, with animal fries. The burgers were pretty much all vegetable, the sliders were smaller than others I've had. The corn dog and animal fries were both decent, though not sure I'd order either again for the price. All in all, I'm glad we tried it but if we return, I'd try other menu items.

I came here due to a friend's recommendation. I love fried chicken and she knows it. I got the crispy fried chicken sandwich and the animal style fries. The chicken sandwich was made out of thigh meat, which is amazing as a big dark meat fan. The thigh is actually my favorite. The sandwich was full of cilantro and that was alot of the taste I had as well as the ranch. Be warned: it is a very very messy meal as the bun does not contain the chicken at all. It was delicious though. Chicken was pretty tender and it was pretty crispy too. The animal style fries were good too but at $11 I may pass on this next time in favor of the $6 regular fries. Lowkey think I like in n out original animal style better.

Their vegetarian animal style fries are amazing! Crispy fries are loaded up with onion, kim chi queso, special sauce, and more. It's super flavorful and filling. Definitely could be a meal on its own. Their plain fries also have a nice texture. Their veggie burger was okay, but I found the patty to be a bit dry. The vegetarian dusty dog was pretty good, but would've preferred the batter to be a bit crispier.

I think this might be my favorite chicken sandwich in all of NYC! I will literally dream about this sandwich. It was perfectly seasoned, crispy, and had a high chicken to burger ratio! The space itself is not bad. They're connected to a vintage bar called the Johnson's so it's a nice two in one situation. I really can't stress how much I love this sandwich though!

It's a Friday night with unseasonably warm weather, and we're exploring the neighborhood for a taste of something new. Since it was a full house, we had to go for the outdoor seating. Sadly, it quickly became the smokers' section. Thankfully, we were able to escape by grabbing an available table indoors. I ordered the Dusty Dog (corn-battered on a stick mustard, spicy mayo, cilantro scallion, crispy shallots, and togarashi) and really appreciated the employee confirming whether the hotdogs were 100% beef. It tasted alright, alongside a handful of crispy fries that I grabbed from a friend.

I'm so happy that this place is offering delivery now! Most know it as the small burger spot inside of The Johnson's but it's honestly one of the best smash burger style options in the area. Everything is so yummy, but my personal fave is their chop burger which is packed with flavor - it's a little sweet, a little salty, and has the perfect amount of crunch from the cabbage and pickles. Can't recommend enough!

This is a small little kitchen within The Johnsons so it's great for drunk eats or just a pickup and go. The best part of all this is that they have vegetarian alternatives for all their choices. I got the Chop Burger vegetarian with a veggie burger (for $1 extra) and my friend got the grumpy meal. Both were big enough portions and the Yelp Check-in reward was fries! The fries were cooked perfectly a good size (and a good size portion) and had some great seasoning. There's place to eat indoor and outdoor and it was a really quick turn around. Definitely a place I'll come back when I'm craving a veggie burger!

The food was amazing with real animal fries! A really cool vibe inside with low light and a pool table in the back. The staff was knowledgeable about the food and drink ingredients which was very helpful.

To be clear, this little burger shack is located inside The Johnson's, an 80s style retro bar. The shack offers a few classic burgers, loaded fries, and crispy chicken sandwiches. You order at the shack window, they give you a number and bring the food to your table at the bar. The fries alone come in a huge portion so I don't know why I ordered a chicken sandwich but that's what I did. Dang that chimken was good! I don't know what batter they use but the outside crisp was phenomenal. They use some sort of Asian-style seasoning blend, which was a delightfully scrumptious surprise. The other surprise was how enormous the chicken was. This is a huge chicken cutlet sandwiched between a regular potato bun. They could easily make two chicken sandwiches w that amount of cutlet, possibly even three. So I recommend splitting the sandwich w someone. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the sandwich but feast thine eyes upon these fries. I recommend.

This is my second time ordering from strange flavor burger shack via Uber. If you like being very hungry for $12.75 a burger then you're in for a bushwick special!

Yummy double cheeseburger and fries delivered promptly on a Sunday night during all the covid madness. Ordered through Caviar and it was a pleasant experience. I love the cute bag/logo. Hipster hamburger for sure. Ha. House sauce is good. Food was really well packed and warm. Some of the best fries I've had in east Williamsburg. I'm kind of a fry snob and these were excellent.

I've ordered strange flavor burger shack before and recently stopped in for pickup for the first time so I decided why not write a review. Strange flavor has some, well.. strange flavors, but good ones at that! What you see in the picture is my typical order: the chop burger (no pickles) and animal style fries. Both have interesting flavors you wouldn't normally expect from a burger place! The burger even has peanuts which, although sounds odd, is actually really good for a different textural component. The fries are more crunchy than soft but the sauce is plentiful and welcomed. They also give you a ton, so I'd recommend sharing an order instead of getting one per person. It's not something I crave all the time, but once in awhile I get the urge for some strange flavors!

The combo with the two small burgers always hits! While I've never visited their store it's always a go via UberEats so I'd recommend!

Another hidden gem in BK ! The food and service are amazing here. I've been twice and each time is was extremely enjoyable . The slushee drinks are yummy and tasteful. The burgers were definitely questionable in name but delicious in taste lol ! The ambiance was very chill and hipster. Food was made very quick !! Me and the server had a great convo and connected over some cute nails she had on! Always a pleasure !

It's quite the non descript location if you're not paying attention, you will surely pass it. Located around the corner from a few nightspots I never would have noticed this place had I not seen him on Yelp. I called in an order for pickup and the check-in special was honored! So sweet! The service that come out of the kitchen is impeccable. There is a small staff the owner (hi, Bill!), and 2 workers that are crank it out the best stuff ever. Crisp golden fries (Asian flavor to them, ummmmm), fresh burgers and portable drinks? Yes please. Never mind the picture of my pain killer isnt frozen, its for later (I'm excited). I will be sure to use these nice folks for delivery and irl the future.

One of my favorite restaurants! I'm normally not a corn dog person, but their corn dogs are divine. Their burgers are incredibly flavorful and their animal style fries are ginormous and delicious. Highly recommend pairing their food with a painkiller from the Johnsons

If you blink hard enough you will miss this gem of a place in BK. My go to is the Pops Burger w Fries. Soooo much flavor in the burger! And those fries! Perfectly seasoned & fried to perfection. Highly recommend adding some of their sauces. Love dipping the fries in the ranch! If you want a quality tasty burger then this is your go to spot!

soooo fire always i have been coming for years and quality stays perfect, much love to zeke and everyone in the kitchen. whole menu is amazing, always so hard to choose between the 2 burgers, the corn dog and chicken sandwich very underrated

the way the food is so cold like literally icey cold to the touch , & the way y'all need to be told to give ketchup for two burgers and fries for a delivery order is insane to me

Absolutely recommend the chicken sandwich ($10)! It was piping hot, crispy on the outside, and so tender on the inside. It's made with dark meat, so it's incredibly juicy! My friend isn't a vegetarian but still prefers the vegetarian chicken sandwich ($1 extra). The dusty dog (corn dog with toppings, $7) was delicious as well, but definitely just a snack. The animal fries ($8) were alright; the toppings were good, but the fries were cold.

Killer food prepared by good folks who just want to make the world a good burger. Worth stopping into but the delivery is like 99.99% as good tbh. The burger I dream of.

Delivery experience only. Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich (5/5) - excellent sandwich. I had it delivered and the bun was still fluffy and not soggy at all and the chicken still warm. The sandwich is delicious and huge. I loved the flavors! It's different but it works. Animal Style Fries (5/5) - amazing within itself. Heightened my sandwich experience. Would order again for sure.

4.5 stars! First and foremost the Burgers are deeeelicious!! I've been here multiple times and to be fair I've only had the Pop's Burger, but that just speaks to how amazingly good they are! And honestly what more do you want from a burger joint other than great burgers! That's all it took to turn me into a repeat customer, even despite the not so cheap $11 price--which is saying A LOT for me because I am notoriously cheap!! Lol If you read my other reviews you'll know I pay attention to prices and the value of the food I buy! They lost half a star because I finally ventured out to try their Animal Style Fries the last time I went and they weren't good. Just waaay too much going on. It was hard to eat with so many sauces and toppings which made fries completely soggy and for $8 it felt like a total waste. Nonetheless, the Pop's Burgers are SO great that l will absolutely keep coming back!

Their animals fries are great, prefer them over the regular ones. And the Vegetarian chicken sandwich is pretty good too! Pickup and delivery doesn't usually take too long. But pleaseeee bring back the Bang bang chicken

This place is really something special. We been ordering for a long time from this spot (sometimes, so sadly food coming completely cold, but I'm living in Williamsburg that's why:). And we decided that it's better to pick up. This spot, is hidden, like it's pain to find it (even after I've been for many times there, I got lost again). After placing the order everything was ready in 10min. And it's so so so good. My favorite is chicken sandwich, it's like Incredibly delicious and big. Animal fries mmmmm.

Looking for food bursting in flavor? This is the spot! Even just looking at the food had my mouth drooling. We ordered the Pop's burger, Hot fried chicken sandwich, and animal style fries. Pop's burger was super juicy and cheesy. The fried chicken sandwich was just the right amount of spice (nothing too hot) and the chicken was crispy and juicy. And if you're from the west coast or are familiar to In-n-out's animal style fries, this restaurants version is like the boujee sister of them. Ingredients are fresh, caramelized onions are a touch sweet, and every bite is just to die for. Definitely ordering from here again!

The "papa burger" is pathetically small do not get fooled for $12.75. Absolute ridiculously overpriced hipster nonsense

Essential Bushwick staple! I order here weekly, seriously. If you go in person, they have an alcoholic Capri Sun packs which are the shit. But the fries are worst order alone. so damn ADDICTIVE! #GrumpyMeal4Ever

I got the Pops burger and animal fries, it was good but nothing shocking. The burger was the star by far for me, although it's much smaller than you'd think based on the ubereats photo fyi. The fries are ok, if you really like rich mayo based sauces you'd probably like them more. It was a little bit much after a certain point. The carmalized onions were a really nice element to them tho. All in all it's on the better side of decent/good, but won't jump Into your favorite ny burger spot rotation.

This little kitchen- makes possibly the best burgers! With their small menu, we always know exactly what we want. We've been here so many times, and ordered on Ubereats as well. Pops burgers and animal fries. Pops burger- although it looks small, it's so filling! It's delicious. The patties are perfectly cooked. The lettuce is a perfect combination of soggy and crunchy tossed in burger sauce. Tomato. Pickles. The bread is soft and a perfect top to the burger. The animal fries- onions, cheese, spice, cilantro, and I don't even know what else. But they're delicious. They're not crispy crunchy fries. They're more like house cut potatoes. They typically get soggy quickly. But they're SO GOOD!

I discussed this restaurant during the quarantine and I'm so glad I did. I've ordered delivery twice now and both times the food was delish! The first time I ordered the burger which consisted of two patties and house sauce and house cut fries. The second time I had the hot fried chicken sandwich and house cut fries. I don't know what seasoning the use on these fries but they are so damn good! The burger was yummy and well seasoned and the hot fried chicken sandwich was juicy inside and crispy outside. Delivery arrived quickly and the food was well packed and still warm. By the way the give a ton of fries! Yasss!

Great burgers (both veggie and meat) - I have no clue what's in the veggie burger to be entirely honest (seems like a bean base, but perfectly crisp on the outside - maybe some cornmeal in there?), but it was on par with the beef burgers. The fries used to be the only thing keeping this place from being perfect (they used to come super soggy and soft, making their five spice-ish seasoning taste "off"), but now they're crispy perfection. Get 'em animal style! Never tried the dogs/chicken...one day!

All the hype... But the burger was kinda sad to be honest. This version won't make anyone's list. This fact is only compounded by the equally sad dive bar that you're forced to endure while eating your sad burger... que lastima

Hand cut fries out of a frozen commercial box Outside seating smells like a dumb have not cleaned the sidewalk in years ATM outside but don't have change when you pay in cash Hands be back less change and says sorry we don't have any more change How about I take your food pay you 70 of the cost and say sorry don't have any more money ? Order your burger than wait at the bar for your drinks for ten min while your frozen fries get cold

I ordered their chicken sandwich from Ubereats. The chicken was so oily like it wasn't drained and it was brown in color(not sure why). Let's just say I couldn't stomach to eat it

Biggest waste of your time out there! Firstly it's a mini container in front of a bar. You place your order at the container and proceed to wait. The reason for the poor rating- the wait is over 40mins long, I think we waited about 50mins (might aswell call it an hour at this point) for our food. It would be nice if you're told about this long wait time before you order - could put things into perspective. And it's not like they are baking the bun from scratch so I don't get why it takes so long We ordered the pops burger, the wings and the animal fries. Fries were soggy!!! The wings had some cinnamon flavour that wasn't advertised. The pops burger was just ok! I wouldn't really recommend this place, except you come to the bar to hangout and you're thinking ok might just get some food for after the liquor hits.

A cool spot for a great burger! Last night I came in with my wife and another couple to grab a late bite (11pm-ish) after a show at Company XIV down the street. This was the second time we've done this and it was another delicious experience, which proved that this place is worth a review! The decor is just spot-on, with the most retro feel and good music all evening. And the burgers were ON POINT! Add to that a crunchy-yet-pillowy corn dog, and serious animal style fries (not pictured), and this is a perfect place for a late-night hang. Looking forward to the next show and the next burger!

Extremely slow and poor service. If you order for pick up, please commit yourself to wait 55 minutes at least for an order of fries. This is on a Friday at 6pm. I cannot imagine ordering food from this restaurant past 7pm, pretty sure you'll wait more than 2 hours for an order of fries.

I went in and was ready to order and as I was ordering I was looking around and saw mouse poop on the floor!! I was completely disgusted and just left. They said "hello?" as i walked away and I just said that I had saw mouse poop! Hope they do something about it soon.

This place is BOMB. I probably got it 1x a week when I lived in Bushwick. The bang bang chicken was my go-to, with the perfect balance of textures and flavors. the burgers are also delicious... I have never tried the dogs or other menu items just because of my personal palette :-D

One of the best fried chicken sandwiches I have ever had in my life. The breading, the seasoning, the herbs, the sauce, everything on it is amazing. The chop burger is amazing as well. And the animal style fries with the kimchi queso? Ya. Amazing as well. The drinks they serve are a great addition to any order, pain killers are perfect for a these warmer day

Got the chicken sandwich delivered. It was on time and the delivery guy was very nice. I was impressed the sandwich was still hot and crispy when it arrived. It didn't have any slaw on it though, and definitely needed something more fresh or spicy. But overall good when I added my own hot sauce and slaw.

wowwwwwwwwwwww. I just ordered for the first time on seamless. Best burger I have ever had in my life. Hands down, no contest. And I consider myself to be a burger connoisseur. The quality of the meat, the texture of the bun, the special sauce, the cheese, the pickles, onion lettuce and tomato; perfection. This would be my last meal on earth. Fries were excellent but on the spicy side. Do yourself a favor and trust me and try this place out - absolutely unreal!!!

I'm not a vegetarian but my girlfriend is. That being said the "chicken" sandwich at Strange Flavor is so good (great crunch, pickles, the sauce is great) I find myself craving it. We already have plans to pick one up next weekend (we just had one yesterday)... big fan. Support local!
