I liked the green marvel burger because it wasn’t dry and because of the caramelized onions. It was flavorful, a bit messy, but overall a hit. I didn’t really like the spicy margarita but I loved the decor though out with all the doggy details. We utilized street parking on our visit Saturday afternoon and the service was fast and friendly.

Great vibe, fantastic tap beer selection. Love the menu and vegan options! Chili dog was beefy, and brisket chili on it yummy. Vegan California was tasty. We thought the brussel sprouts app was a little overcooked & too buttery/oily - would have liked them to star on their own, just grilled or with balsamic, but overall solid menu and great food! We will be back for sure.

The more you stray, the better you chew — Stray Dog delivers! 🐾🌱🍻 This place was phenomenal. So many vegan and vegetarian options, it felt like the Jedi Council opened a cantina. Everything tasted great—from the custom black & bleu Beyond burger to the truffle tots and noble cheese curds. Loved the decor, especially the gallery of heroic dog portraits (truly guardians of the pub). And the beer selection on tap? As varied as a Mos Eisley crowd—but far friendlier. Fast, attentive service. Cozy, quirky atmosphere. Loaded with flavor and charm. Definitely saving this one to my favorites—strong in the plant-based Force, it is.

We loved our menu selections! They have a large selection of vegan options, which was the draw for coming here. We chose: Veggie Chilaquilies- it was OK. The flavor was all right but it was a few large chips with some sloppy chili and toppings. The just eggs on top were excellent. It was weird that the shredded cheese wasn't even close to being melted. Beyond PB & Bacon- this burger was out of this world. We ordered it vegan. Peanut butter, egg, vegan bacon and maple syrup on a croissant bun. OMG it was so good. Did not care for the pre-charge that was added to our bill for using a credit card. We paid in cash and didn't have time to wait around for a credit. It's not much but that's not the point, especially when you pay $18 for a burger. This is a great spot to eat if you're near the U of MN campus. Super cute vibe inside.

My family and I just got back from eating here, we had a reservation for 6pm we were sat immediately and nobody came to take our drinks order or anything for about 15-20 minutes but the table that sat in front of us came probably about 10 or so minutes later than us and the server Ellie went and took there drink order fast and then came to us, which wasn’t a big deal at first but then she brought boxes to the table next to us and was chatting with them, and proceeded to go to this table with boxes already more than our table and the other table in front of us, we were running low on drink and were trying to get someone’s attention (a food runner and our server Ellie) but both didn’t hear us when we’re asking for them to refill our drinks while they were at both tables near us, we eventually had to ask the host to get our server because she was pretty much MIA (except to the table she was clearly familiar with and the other table) and Ellie proceeded to go to the table she went to before and ask if they needed anything and then came to us when we asked for her specifically because she wasn’t returning to our table, so then naturally we get upset and I said to the server that it’s not okay to not check on your table in between the two tables she keeps checking on and she said it was because it was busy which is totally understandable except she repeatedly went the the tables surrounding us. After saying something to her and getting a refill on my drink there was something white on the tip of my straw which could have been just from a bumping something while she was bringing it back I’m not too sure but I’ll insert a photo, after we paid and we’re leaving we thanked the host for being helpful and friendly and she apologized but she was NOT the problem. Very unfortunate because we were excited to go celebrate a birthday but it was ruined by bad service. Our server was friendly and the food was good but she needs a little more training with customer experience.

How cool! I love that there are Vegetarian options on one side of the menu and run-of-the-mill options on the other side! My Vegan and Gluten-free friend chose this place. I have zero dietary restrictions but I ended up ordering the Vegan Cajun, anyway. Just out of curiosity. It's a spicy, savory Cajun jackfruit sandwich topped with a bright, zesty mayo and Vegan cheese. Sounds kind of weird but it was so good! The fake cheese didn't taste like plastic and the flavors actually complemented each other very well! My friends each got the Vegetarian and regular versions of the same burger--the Bourbon Brown Butter burger. I got to taste both and I've got to admit, both were PHENOMENAL. I was really shocked that the Beyond "meat" was so flavorful and held its shape. All of the sides were delicious--truffle fries, brussel sprouts, Togarashi slaw...I also ordered the truffle cheese curds with garlic aioli, and Togarashi cheese curds with wasabi aioli to start. Yes, I ordered a lot but I don't usually revisit a restaurant so I try to make the most of it. (I grabbed some food to-go, as well 🫣) Jenn, our server, was very attentive and was very thorough when answering our questions. She obviously knows the menu very well! I certainly appreciate the quality of service and food here. Highly recommended! If you're on the fence, then come for their Happy Hour specials. I believe it's every day between 2pm-6pm or 9pm to close. Or, all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

Google
Excellent burger!! It’s so hard to find an interesting vegetarian burger option and I love their two sided veggie/meat menu. I had the Bourbon burger and it was great. Perfect for a quick bite or a shared meal.

Google
This is honestly just a really fun place to hang out. The staff is super nice, the drinks and food are good. And the place just has good vibes... This is relatively easy when there are pictures and sculptures of dogs everywhere.

Yelp
An amazing first visit to Stray Dog! We had a great lunch there today. The staff were very friendly and we loved the space and the artwork. The food was very good, and the drinks complemented them well. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
My excitement about the menu may have gotten the best of me. The menu itself deserves 5 stars. It had SO many cool vegetarian and vegan options that you don't see at a lot of other places-- like a vegetarian cobb salad-- how cool is that!?! I ended up going with the vegetarian mushroom swiss. This was more of a 3-star item for me. The brioche had good flavor, but was a bit tough. The overall flavor was just a bit bland. Tots were good though! Overall, I'm going with 4 stars on this one because I'm an optimist and can see myself going back and trying something different (and it being good!)

Yelp
I've been here a few times pre pandemic and post pandemic and it's almost always packed at night and weekends. One time I went during the week, during the day to try the chicken and waffle (which had been going kind of viral at the time on social media) I was sad to find out it wasn't available because they were out of ingredients. I never did go back and try it. My mom & I had went back another time for a cherry beer they had at the time (at least I think it was cherry). We order some apps. The truffle fries are really good. I always remember the food generally being good overall. It can get a bit loud but I sometimes enjoy the lively atmosphere. Overall a good place to grab food and drinks.

Yelp
I really enjoy my time on Stray Dog. The decorations are always so enjoyable - particularly as a big dog lover. Every time I go, I try and pick the dog art that matches my mood for the day. Would recommend this restaurant solely based on the decor. The food was good! We asked for nachos without cheese and unfortunately received it with feta (which still is a cheese). We assumed it was because it was so busy that the kitchen staff was stressed. Similar thoughts on the service. We went during trivia night, so it was quite busy, and we could tell the serving staff was stressed. We didn't get as much interaction as we would have hoped (refilling water, getting more bevs, etc.), but we weren't too upset since we picked a busy night to go! Overall, Stray Dog is a wonderful establishment!

Yelp
The is probably my favorite bar in the cities. Great Belgian tap selection, an entire vegetarian menu, and incredibly friendly staff. So glad they seem to be doing better after the pandemic scare. They rotate specials with the season and they're always delicious. Most of their menu items have a well thought out way to make them vegetarian and not just "remove the meat". It's a long building so there's more seating than it first appears but can still fill up really quick on weekends and during sporting events. It's my NE/St. Anthony staple if I don't know where to go or just want a nice Belgian cask beer.

Yelp
I so wanted to LOVE this place. Based on the high rating I thought it would be great. Not so, unfortunately. First, the good. The dog decor of cute dog artwork is so cute! The juxtaposition of MMA on one tv and Rupaul's drag race on the other is awesome. It speaks so much to how inclusive this establishment is. The kids menu choices and portions are great. There are a good amount of 2 chair tables for date nights and decent seating for the bar area. There is shuffleboard and outdoor seating. The bad. The service is slow and non attentive. We were seated at 620 and didn't get our food until 7:15. My husband's order had cheese when he said no cheese due to his dairy allergy. Then it took awhile before it was brought out. Without silverware. Getting the silverware was its own challenge. While I realize that the rest of the table all had items that didn't require silverware, there was no reason it should've taken as long as it did to get silverware. It took so long that plastic utensils were offered. The food was good, but overpriced for what you get.

Yelp
This place had a very fun ambiance and decor! It's all dog-related, hence the name. We came right at open (12pm) on Saturday, thus service was quick and friendly. The seating: the tables are mostly high tops. There are only 7 low-top tables and a small outdoor patio. The Rooster was flavorful and had a very tasty sauce. The pickles that came on it were very thinly sliced...more cucumber than pickle. The Bourbon burger was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The fries had the perfect amount of crisp! We do wish the meal was a bit cheaper ($17) for the portion size. For the average person, you likely won't need a box for take home. It was a good portion size! * street parking only * 1 stall bathrooms

Yelp
We ordered takeout, so I can't speak on the service or ambiance, but the vibes look cool and I definitely want to dine in at some point! My favorites were the bourbon brown butter burger, which had a nice sweetness to cut through the salty bacon, and the fennel cheese curds, though the fennel seasoning and accompanying sauce would probably be just as good on fries or tots. I also really liked how light the batter on the cheese curds was! We also got the green marvel burger, which I really enjoyed; the rooster burger, which was solid but not flavors I usually go for and also a bit messier than everything else (a lot of napkins are a must); and the togarashi tots. The tots themselves were good, but the togarashi seasoning didn't add as much as the fennel seasoning on the cheese curds did, and the accompanying sauce was very horseradish/wasabi-forward (not my vibe). The prices are definitely on the higher end; if you're not as picky about how rare your burger is, the sliders are a good option ($7 each vs. around $17 for a full burger). Plus, you can get two (which I feel like is about equal to if not more food than one regular burger) and have some variety.

Yelp
Don't sleep on this Northeast Minneapolis establishment, which used to be where Bulldog NE was located on the corner of Hennepin and 4th. Great beer selection and elevated bar food with some terrific burgers, house cut fries and tots that you upgrade with truffle, fennel or togarashi - if you grew up where I did, you have a great appreciate for fennel (think porketta). There's a nice variety on the menu, lots of different sandwiches, which I'd like to try nearly all of them and some unique burgers with great flavor - I've had the bourbon brown butter, which has applewood bacon, brown butter mayo and a bourbon glaze, which makes the meal, and fried shallots, as well as the Stuffed Pretzel which has garlic aioli served on a white cheddar stuffed pretzel bun - it's really good! On a recent visit, I ordered one of their pizzas - the Inferno, which has sausage, pepperoni and jalapenos - for the price, it was really good deal and I liked the crust and sauce as well. Stray Dog also does has a nice happy hour, as well as breakfast/brunch on the weekend with some great options. If you are in the neighborhood, be sure to swing by - you'll love the decor, especially if you're a dog person like I am!

Yelp
Tried this place for Father's Day. We had a noon reservation- didn't know they didn't open until noon which seemed later for a restaurant, but it all worked out. Our server was excellent and patient. Food was delicious: Eggs Benedict Kids pizza was said to very cheesy Chilaquiles Everything Omelet Mushroom and Swiss Burger Fries were great- handcut- love handcut fries. The food was excellent! Service was excellent. They had a shuffle board. Outdoor patio The only negative is the surcharge for paying with a card vs. cash. I get that restaurants have to cover their costs, but all the little surcharges start to get a little irritating, but the food and service were excellent so its a wash. The "secret" menu needs to not be secret- just put it on the menu.

Yelp
A fun place to stop if you're already in the area. I was having a treat-yo-self day and they were one of the few bars open before 4pm on a Friday. I may be a cat person, but I loved all the dog artwork! Especially the Courage The Cowardly Dog piece! I ordered the Togarashi Cheese Curds and a Negroni. I was excited to see togarashi spice on the menu as it's one of my favorites in Asian cooking! The curds were nom. Soft and yummy. The drink was premixed, which I'm not usually a fan of, and I got the last pour. There were a few other couples sitting around the bar and the staff seemed to know everyone by name. Very friendly environment. Street parking. Also near Stone Arch Bridge, about a 15 min walk.

Yelp
We came in on a whim Saturday night, and this place is so cute, love the artwork, whole vibe and the staff was really nice! I got the togarashi burger and my boyfriend got the chicken and waffles - the food was great and the beer selection was massive! Unfortunately, for the first time in my 30yrs I had an allergic reaction to food, never had this before, my hands and mouth were red, hot and swollen and I was itching all over - THIS WAS NOT THE RESTAURANTS FAULT - I don't know what caused it, since the ingredients were nothing out of the usual for myself, but noting it in case it happens to others. The staff, was sooo kind and helpful after I asked them about the ingredients and they noticed the reaction I was having. I still recommend this place, and will be back but will try something else as my boyfriend also enjoyed his meal! Plenty of vegan options as well, street parking fyi.

Yelp
I don't understand why this place is so highly rated. It must be the atmosphere, which I admit is nice with the cool and colorful artwork and big screen TVs for the games. I'm certain that the high ratings are not for the food. I had a very average burger and fries that were overly cooked or probably reheated in the grease. My service was absolutely terrible in terms of speed to order, receive food and to get the check. But that's what happens when one person is waiting on the entire restaurant by themselves. The server was nice enough, but it didn't help the experience. I have no interest in going back here, but hopefully it was just a one off issue.

Yelp
Excellent beer selection beer and tater tot hot dish. Our waitress was great. Good vibes.

Yelp
First time stopping at Stray Dog. Really like the ambiance and decor around the joint. We were seated immediately on a Friday night and were pleased to see an expansive menu including a happy hour menu. Unfortunately the service was quite slow, and the food lacked a lot of flavor. Had high expectations for the chicken and waffles, the chicken was hot, fresh and breaded to perfection. However the waffle tasted like I slammed a malty beer, yuck! Ate the chicken , dumped the waffle. Decided to try their signature Manhattan cocktail however that was also a major fail. I'd consider giving this place another shot based on the presentation and service, but would definitely try a burger or something easier to not mess up.

Yelp
Came here for a super delicious birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. Yummy Moscow Mule and Beyond Stuffed Pretzel Bun Burger. Service was lowkey and relaxed-- awesome people who clearly love what they do and who they get to be around. The entryway of the space is adorable with Polaroids of dog visitors ‍. And of course inside, bright natural light and lots of fun dog themed decor on the walls. I love all the vegetarian and vegan options at Stray Dog and they do not skip out on flavor.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool hangout with some good food. I have a cousin who raves about the food here so I had to try it out. I had the Stuffed Pretzel burger and it was great. I love a pretzel bun, and this one was stuffed with gooey cheese, it was really cool. This is very much an urban pub with a cool aesthetic that celebrates this Northeast neighborhood. Quite loud when I came in on a Saturday evening. Their menu is quite large, and ostensibly half of it is vegetarian. I think they're quite proud of all their vegetarian options, but they also have considerable variety on the carnivore side of the menu. I got tots with mine, with a unique Asian seasoning. It's worth noting that there is a $4 surcharge for sides. I'll come here again for sure; there are a number of items I want to try, but also maybe I want that Stuffed Pretzel burger again.

Yelp
Disappointed in the service here. We ordered a beer, truffle cheese curds, a burger and a steak salad. The beer came out first, then the appetizer and food came all at once-- which is a bit annoying. We then realized that we were sent tater tots instead of cheese curds. The waiter apologized and said he would get us cheese curds. We continue eating and are on our last bite when the cheese curds finally came out. The waiter then realizes that we got normal cheese curds and not truffle and says "ah sorry". We get the check and I was surprised to see the cheese curds were still on the bill, even though we never received the actual item we ordered. Not sure if this was a kitchen issue or a waiter issue or both. Moral of the story, don't order an appetizer here.

Yelp
Stray Dog is a staple in the neighborhood and it's here to stay that way for a long, long time (hopefully). This place serves up traditional American fare with some twists. First of all, they have a vegetarian/vegan menu just as big as their regular menu which is pretty cool for a burger joint even coming from a mainly meat eater like myself. And while I've never had any of their non-meat dishes, I've heard their great and some even include "meat" from the nearby vegan Herbivorous Butcher. Their menu is primarily burgers, but they also serve some assorted sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. This place has my favorite hot dish in the Twin Cities!! It has truffle, Brussel sprouts, meat, and so much delicious flavor, it's definitely a twist on the classic, but they nailed it. As for the burgers, I've had quite a few of theirs and they've always been delicious. For a good simple bacon cheeseburger, the Smokey cheddar burger is the way to go. If you want something crazy the stuffed pretzel burger is pretty wild with cheese filled in the bun. However, no matter how good the burgers are (and they're really good), I think the best item is still that hot dish I highly recommend. This place knows how to do Brussels right. The atmosphere here is your typical restaurant/bar with a huge full serve bar in the center, some tables, booths and high tops surrounding it, and a limited number of outdoor tables on their sidewalk patio. The service has always been pretty good, nothing to complain about ever. I've never had a wait here and have always been served pretty quickly. Highly recommend this place, I come here all the time!

Yelp
Okay so the ambiance was mostly like a bar/ restaurant, pretty typical how you'd expect. You can go on the casual side and you'll be fine. The service was fast and friendly, the lady at the host stand greeted me with a smile and pro actively went to the kitchen when it was almost time for my food to be done and made sure I got it hot from the kitchen which I appreciated. We were visiting Minneapolis, and today is our last day so I had to try one of the cities staple foods: The tater tot hot dish! I found that not many restaurants serve it here in Minneapolis even though it's a cultural food in the region. The one at stray dog seemed good so we tried it. The presentation was probably the best part, my mouth was watering before even feasting on the meal. Imagine cheese and cream melted all over meat, mushrooms, peppers and tater tots... I mean whats there not to like? The meat was shredded and tasted like it was slow cooked, it was soft and flavorful, I give the meat a 5 star for sure. The veggie ingredients were cooked well they were soft which went well with the amount of cheese and cream that was there. The tater tot was a bit crispy but I think it should be even a little crispier to hold up to the amount of moisture that this dish has in it. But it was crispy enough to last the car ride and most of the time we ate it. The one thing I'll say that I think could be improved is the flavor. So you have umami notes like heck in here, such as the mushrooms, the truffle oil, the veggies and even the cream sauce was screaming earth notes. The only issue was there wasn't anything to balance the earth notes, I wish there was just a touch of either acid, or spice, or some other flavor additive to really bring the meal together. I appreciate that the meal wasn't very salty, and I hope they don't read this and just decide to drench it in salt, that's a lazy way to add flavor and will result in some people who are salt sensitive to not enjoy it. I just think there could be maybe a touch of flavor added to this dish to bring it from a 6/10 to a 10/10. Overall I would come here and eat this again, but next time I'll probably ask for a side of their spicy dip sauce or some other sauce they use on their tots or another meal, so I can add more flavor.

Yelp
Cute bar. I like that there's dog pictures everywhere! Definitely plays to the name. Walked past it from coming from the shoe store down the road. I'd rate the food a solid 7/10 but it's a bar. You're coming to have a good time. Service is really good too. Our waitress kept checking on us and felt friendly! Double points for having a vegan menu as well that's essentially their main dishes in a vegan/vegetarian way. Pretty cool! I got the bourbon burger which is AHHMAZING. the right amount of sweet to salty. I also got the Brussels sprouts which were just okay. The rooster wings with peanut sauce was also just okay. I enjoyed but not super memorable to me. Might be a personal taste! Go ahead and still try. My favorite thing I ate was the stray dog pretzel! It was phenom!

Yelp
First time here and it was packed on a Saturday night, but we were able to secure a booth that staff cleared right away for us. The great service continued with our server -- Austin! I ordered the Junk Burger (w no tomato) and truffle curds (+5) and it was great! The server forgot about the no tomato request but comped the truffle curds up charge bc of it. To drink, I got the French 75. It's served with purple gin and I highly recommend. I did, however, request a side of ice to add to it. I just think it's a drink better chilled. I ordered the sin roll to go - haven't tried it yet but I double-checked the order before I left and the caramel nut sauce was conveniently packed separately in a cup. Things to note: - they have a robust vegan/vegetarian menu - street parking available - booth, table, and bar seating available - wine, beer, and cocktails

Yelp
I walked into Stray Dog for dinner this week after not having been there for awhile. I got to try their Rooster Wings, Stray Dog Pretzels, Caramelized Brussel Sprouts, and the Mushroom and Swiss Burger. The burger was cooked well and the toppings were great! The burger came with fries that were very crispy, which is what I really like. The cheese sauce that came with the pretzels, the rooster wings and Caramelized Brussel Sprout were all incredible! I would come back just for these! The restaurant has an old school bar feel and a nice patio. Our server did a really good job of getting us our food and drinks, and I didn't see many other servers. We went on a Tuesday and our food came out really fast!

Yelp
I've now done both take out and dining in. My takeout order was a Chicago Dog and it was fine, but when I picked it up I saw someone's order of onion rings go by. They looked superb, and I made a note to get those next time. The day finally came last Friday and they tasted as good as they looked, very crisp. My sandwich and lemonade were tasty as well. Sorry I did not take photos, I was with friends and we got very busy chatting. Service was both prompt and patient as we were talking too much to make up our minds quickly. That was further complicated by too many good choices including a truly impressive vegetarian section on the menu. I am more of a cat person, but the unique dog art on the brick walls gives the place a friendly hip vibe.

Yelp
If you live in Minneapolis, you won't have to stray far for this one... If it's far, and even if the drive is ruff, you've got a real treat waiting for you that will certainly do the trick :) Okay, enough panting... I mean ranting ;) Check out these bites: Tater Tot Hot Dish -- with fried tots, mushroom béchamel, parmesan, braised brisket, au jus, truffle oil, and caramelized Brussels sprouts Junk Burger -- with applewood bacon, garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, red onion, tomato, fried egg, and cheese From Stray Dog Restaurant and Bar on Hennepin downtown My pick was the hot dish it was a true midwestern beauty fused with modern fine dining. Though the truffles might ruffle some old-fashioned Minnesota feathers, I had no issue with the edit which actually elevated the dish. I could tell ya about the béchamel all day, but I think it's best to simply say this one was fantastic! Just know you will need a nap after My foodie friend dropped the best of beef praise to this patty -- "This might be the best burger I have ever had." Egg, bacon, cheese, garlic aioli... I didn't doubt him You won't be barking up the wrong tree at this place -- Sometime soon, press paws on the busyness of life and head over to Stray Dog, where your taste buds will be un-leashed :)

Yelp
We've walked by this restaurant several times in the charming NE neighborhood. In the summer, there's always people out on the patio. Yesterday we went there for the very first time to have dinner. Super fun, funky bar atmosphere with a zillion great paintings of dogs on the historic brick walls. Service was quick and good. Loved that the menu had a regular side and on the reverse side an identical vegetarian version. I had the Cobb salad and my husband had the black bean burger. I wasn't crazy about the turkey on my Cobb salad because it seemed more like processed turkey although I don't think it was. Very, very thin sliced and cut in strips. If it was fresh roasted it would have been perfect. The balsamic dressing was great. My husband enjoyed his black bean burger, a bit sloppy to hold, but good. The fries were excellent. We will definitely come back to try out some more food options.

Yelp
Walked in and place was super cute and loved all the posters and prints! Very colorful and lots of dog and cat themed things. Ordered the BLT and brussels sprouts as a side. A little side that any side cost extra. The brussel sprouts were amazing!! BLT was tasty as well but a little to much lettuce. Our waiter didn't come to check up on us while we were eating which makes me upset. Overall great food and lots of vegan/vegetarian options. Would come again.

Yelp
TLDR: extensive vegan menu and fun vibe Stray Dog is great for groups with various dietary needs. The chicken and waffle was my favorite vegan item on the menu and my dad was able to get something with a meat option. I don't live in this state but will definitely come the next time I visit! Street parking only

Yelp
Awesome dive bar with great selection of brews and great pub food. Great cheese curds, wings, and burgers. The chicken and waffles are huge and delicious. Great vibe throughout the place. Indoor and outdoor seating. Supper attentive service.

Yelp
Stopped before an event downtown--worked great. Nice atmosphere. Service was fine. The food was good--nice variety of options, including an entire vegan version of the menu.

Yelp
I'm gonna give this place a 9/10. Very unique fry seasonings. Good toppings on the burgers but the meat isn't anything special

Yelp
Good simple food. International beer selection. Helpful staff the burgers were really tasty. Brussel sprouts side was sweet and tasty. Asian type slaw was also very good

Yelp
If you enjoy beer, this place has an amazing tap list and great, pleasant service. The food was savoury, succulent, and fresh. I can't really compare because it was my first time tasting a MN hot meal, but it was great, if a tad too rich.

Yelp
Four of us had dinner at the Salty Dog. Food was average. Not bad, just not great. Fried chicken sandwich was bland. The sliders were good but not great. Bourbon butter burger was great. Fries were great. Service was mediocre.

Yelp
Landed on this place after searching Yelp for "burger." Came here on a Tuesday night and it was packed because they were hosting a beer tasting night. I believe happy hour is 2/3 to 6 which is $2 off appetizers and certain drinks. Wontons- these are stuffed with bacon and cream cheese. Honestly did not taste any bacon. They came out looking like fried eggrolls, which was interesting. The sauce wasn't back. It's a sweet sauce that's super liquidity which was also the first for me. Overall it's ok but I've had better. 2/5 The Junk burger - honestly the best description so I got it. It comes with fries but you if you specialty fries like Parmesan then it's $3 extra, which is a little extra for just adding some cheese. Not worth it in my opinion. The burger is presentable. It was decent. 3/5 This place is pretty average. The burger is presentable but nothing too special like some other burger joints I've been to. If you just want a mellow place to hang out with friends for some beers apps this isn't a bad place. But if you really want a good burger probably not this place. Service is good but waiters were pretty busy with the event. Overall not sure if I would come back. Nothing really stood out.

Yelp
Variety and quality of food was excellent! We were very excited for all the vegetarian options! Beer selection was also great. We felt the service was unfriendly and left a lot to be desired. Maybe just a bad night for the staff, but it definitely impacted our overall experience.

Yelp
I was traveling in Minneapolis and happened to be staying within walking distance of this place. What a great place! I ended up dining there 4 times, it was that good. For vegetarians, I recommend the Beyond American burger and the Beyond Bourbon Brown burger.

Yelp
Our waiter was very attentive and fun, our reservation got us a booth right by the front window. The menu is very creative: half vegan, half non-vegan and they try to make most of the things the same like vegan Cubano and very meaty Cubano. We asked for suggestions and our waiter told us this was a hamburger bar, so I ordered the suggested hamburger, Chuckwagon, very cheesy, messy, delicious! I got a salad on the side that was more than just an afterthought. My boyfriend got tater tot hot dish that was Upscale, delicious! Service was fast, food was delicious, price was reasonable, street parking was close by, got to our concert on time. We'll done!

Yelp
We were looking for someplace with happy hour deals, and found Stray Dog - a great local spot with cool but casual vibes. Happy hour is $2 off drinks and apps, so we each picked a beer from their great MN tap list and split a few apps. We tried the brisket nachos, a Green Marvel slider, and fries. The brisket was really good! We were wishing there was even more of it. I loved the Turkey burger slider and the fries were well seasoned and crispy. A great meal and top notch staff!

Yelp
ATMOSPHERE: It's a long restaurant in the heart of downtown northeast Minneapolis. Fun bar atmosphere with a huge mural of northeast, a shuffleboard a bunch of paintings of dogos. SERVICE: Kind and fast-my favorite type! FOOD: Omg, these burgers will blow you away. So damn good. Plus a generous handful of fries or tots. The flavor combinations were perfection. As a bonus, it's very veggie-friendly with half the menu dedicated to non-meat eaters! Def on the spendier side, we paid ~$17 a burger but worth it!

Yelp
The interior has a cool vibe with industrial decorations. Food was ok-- the burgers didn't have a ton of flavor and the nachos barely had toppings. Would recommend going during happy hour before 6.

Yelp
Got 10 of their cupcakes for a birthday celebration. They packed them up beautifully for transport (nice sturdy tray) and everyone remarked how delicious they were. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I used to love, but the last few times getting takeout I've been disappointed. My sliders were so undercooked they ended up in the garbage.

Yelp
Do you remember when you were little and someone would say "if you love it so much, why don't you marry it!" Well.... I'd marry my PB Burger everyday if i could! Like not kidding! It's been a grip since we've been here, I'm talking way back when it was Bulldog NE. Menu is a new mix with some solid staples that reminded me why i love it so much! Appetizer we tried to kick off our night of eating wontons and truffle cheese curds! Don't sleep on these! Try them I promise both are amazing! Dinner as said above was the PB Burger and Nate had the corn beef...talk about and monster sandwich with bomb taste! Our friends had the junk burger and brown butter! Both raved about their choices! We ended our night with Sin Rolls to go! I like my dessert on my couch in my softies! I want 30 of these sin rolls! Caramel Roll, bacon caramel and whip cream! Until next time!

Yelp
Ordered the junk burger, it was overpriced for how big it was. The burger was decent, there were many toppings but not very flavorful. The tater tots were fantastic though, the only reason I give the place 2 starts. The service was very bad, restaurant not busy, and each request took five + minutes. We asked for our checks and had cards on the table ready to leave, it took them over 20 minutes to get us out the door.

Yelp
This would be the bourbon brown butter burger at Stray Dog in Minneapolis. I realized after the fact that the actual burger patty is totally hidden here in the picture by the white cheddar cheese. Oops! Well, it's not a trendy smashed burger, but it's still great! Personally, I like a bit of acid flavor on my burger through pickles or some kind of tangy sauce. I don't think it would mesh well with the rest of the flavors here though, and as such, it didn't have any acid. It was delicious in its own right though. I'd wager if you are NOT a pickle or acid kind of a person, this burger could be one of your top favorites.

Yelp
I liked stray dog a lot. It was our first time going and I want to come back and try other things. I got the burger which was a bit over cooked. The gluten free cheese curds are so good however and I thought our service was excellent. There was a ton of street parking around the building

Yelp
My son and I came here one night last week and had the one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. I sent an email to management in hopes of a resolution to no avail. Our server Thomas B was terrible. He had us waiting quite some time for him to greet us initially. I was interested in the pretzel stuffed burger and asked him a question about the cheese in the bun as the burger has a pretzel bun "stuffed with cheese". I asked him if it was really melty and had a cheese pull, he answered condescendingly with "that's kinda the point". So, I ordered that with smoked gouda and onion on top, MINUS the bacon. My son ordered the same burger, as is. We both ordered our burgers "pink". When our order came someone else delivered it and nobody had brought us ketchup/mustard beforehand or with our meal so we waited a while for our server, Thomas, to come check on us as servers usually do once you receive your food but, he did not. He was too busy going back and forth between the same two tables. It appears he was the only server however, he only checked on two tables and left the rest of us ignored and unattended to. Not only did they forget about us, Thomas got our orders WRONG. My burger had all the things on it, including bacon. I don't eat pork at all and that would have been a fun night had I ate that burger. My son's burger had no cheese, no onion and no bacon. It was late, my son and I had a long day, we were hungry, and just wanted to go home at this point. Since our server was not checking on us nor was there anyone else to help, I asked the bartender for ketchup/mustard. My son and I decided to just switch burgers because we don't like to send food back, people do weird shit to food when it gets sent back and we were hungry . . . He ate my burger and I ate his with no cheese and my onion added. The burgers were not the slightest bit pink, they were DONE done (and cold at this point), the bun had ZERO cheese pull, I honestly couldn't even tell there was cheese in it and I had a cheeseless burger. There certainly wasn't enough of a remnant of cheese to deserve such a rude response from Thomas when I asked about the "cheese pull" in the bun. There was none. Not a bit. Thomas never checked on us, not even ONE time while we ate our food. He didn't even look our way. We sat there with empty plates in front of us for about 10 mins before he finally came over. He asked if everything was ok so I told him about the burgers being wrong, the lack of cheese or cheese pull in the buns, and the lack of service on his end and all he said was, "Aw, that sounds frustrating" and brought us our check. Instead of making a scene with this server who clearly gave ZERO fucks, I took it up with management but they are not responding to my issue. I want my money back. I circulated about $45 for two wrong burger orders, terrible service, and cold food. This is not our first time eating here but, with how this has been handled, it will DEFINITELY be our last!! Thomas B, start writing your orders down and check on ALL your tables!! Better yet, maybe find a new line of work, I don't think serving is quite for you . . .
