Street Taco

Came here for dinner on a Friday night, last minute, and fortunately we were able to get a table! It was pretty busy, so I would recommend reservations - we were fortunate in that our table, though initially only held for an hour given other parties, was ours for two-ish hours or more! We shared a large nachos order among 4 people and otherwise each got a mix of happy hour mini tacos or tacos off the main menu. Portion-wise, I would say 2-3 regular tacos are probably plenty for one person. Overall, the food was decent - not necessarily outstanding but very good for a quick, last-minute meal. The ambience is great - colorful and vibrant and presently, covered in holiday decor! We'd give a last shout-out to Matt who attended to us for his great service! I would also plug the butter cake and donut churros because the more butter, the better!

Doug at Street Taco went above and beyond to remedy a problem with my delivery order! Food was delicious and the staff were incredibly warm and communicative! They turned what could have been a real disappointment into a really positive experience. I'll be ordering again soon!

Came here last night and got a few tacos and some drinks. The tacos were lovely! The birria tacos had tender, succulent beef with a crispy outer shell and a flavorful dipping broth, the blackened fish taco had nice flaky fish that paired really well with some lime, and the pork carnitas taco had a really distinct porky flavor that I loved! All very delicious! The classic margarita was solid too, and I enjoyed the black widow cider I got. The server was attentive and efficient, and the atmosphere is nice and cozy. It's great that they're open late. A wonderful spot, I would totally recommend it!

The food is consistently delicious. The atmosphere can be busy or loud but they serve fairly quickly regardless. We had a great server, Lucas, who was helpful and cared about our order and experience, thank you!

Tremendo Happy Hour! We came to get the late night happy hour and some bites, 10/10 on the drinks and food! Leidy was a doll, she was very sweet and helpful throughout the evening! Great service and overall vibe!! Didn’t get pics of the food, but trust it was good 🤗

Came in with zero expectations, and the experience far exceeded them. The service was kind and prompt. I grabbed a seat at the bar, and the stools were top-notch comfy. I ordered chips and salsa, and the salsa was delicious—I wanted to take home a jar. The birria tacos were so, so good. Not too much cheese, and they didn't skimp on meat or juice. 10/10 recommend. Will be back for more! I didn't plan to leave a review, so the photo is dark—just for reference.

Great tacos! They have a lot of different options that are about $4-$5 each. They taste great - I personally really liked the pork belly one. It is a nice environment inside the resturant. They have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. My only criticism is that the cheese dip was SUPER chunky (not queso) so it was very difficult to scoop with the chips and solidified when cooled down. Overall a good meal though so I would come back.

Street Taco has become a Murray Hill go-to. It's got great energy, killer food, and fun, eclectic decor (including a VW food truck in the restaurant). The murals are amazing, and the vibe strikes the perfect balance between laidback and lively. My go-to order is the Chicken Tinga tacos: they're flavorful and always hit the spot. The guac is fresh, the mini taco happy hour is a steal ($3 tacos daily from 4-7pm and again from 10pm to close Sunday through Thursday). They offer two kinds of salsa, including a spicy ghost pepper one if you're feeling bold. My only tiny complaint is I wish they had grenadine to mix with Diet Coke (my guilty pleasure!). Whether you're popping in for a quick happy hour bite or hanging out with friends, this place nails it. Friendly staff, fun atmosphere, and tacos that'll have you coming back again and again.

Absolutely amazing tacos! They were so so so good! Loved the cocktails here too! They have daily specials on both food and drinks. The stat is extremely friendly and accommodating. Reservations are highly recommended, it tends to get busy. Not as spicy as I would have liked though for some of their other food options. The queso was a bit underwhelming

When I come to New York this is usually my first stop. I look forward to coming here when I am going to NY, amazing tacos and a fun, nice ambiance.

Had a handful of tacos and the birria tacos, as well as the el bandido. Service was quick and nice, ambience was decent, a little loud but nothing too crazy. Easy to walk in on a rainy weekday at 7:45 Food was decent! Certainly quite serviceable tacos for new York, the birria was pretty good (not the best in the city though) and the carne asada tacos had plenty of flavor in them. I got a drink (el bandido) and it was quite strong (definitely good! But just honestly twice as much alcohol as I expected) Only got through half of it otherwise I would've been in some trouble

The food was okay, not too bad or too good. Keep in mind these are $5 tacos. The restaurant played great music that created a pretty lively atmosphere which would make it less of an intimate setting and more of a bar vibe setting. It is almost always packed with what seems to be college students, but they congregate by the bar mostly. Service was attentive and pleasant. I got the salsa and chips which weren't the best. Some chips were stale. I also had the chicken tinga which was a safe good classic. My date got the fried chicken taco and found it good/okay. I havent tried any of the drinks, but the crowd at the bar allows me to guess its better than the food.

This place just never fails me! It's so good I had to leave another review!!!!! Drinks!!! Vibes!!! Food!!! And A1 SERVICE! My top pick will always be the gringo tacos, you wouldn't understand unless you've had it!

Came with a few friends to grab drinks and tacos. The ambiance is very fun and there was a dj playing good music. The drinks were also very good, I highly recommend their specialty cocktails. The corn was good but could've been a bit more flavorful. The tacos were also good but honestly nothing special. However, I tried a bite of my friends brussels sprouts tacos and those were fantastic!

Good taco spot in the area. They have Happy Hours 4-7PM and 10PM to close Sunday - Thursday. This includes $3 on select tacos, making this a cheap eats. Also got margaritas which were decent, although I found the flavored ones to be better than the classic.

You know it'll be a good time when they have two disco balls and the kitchen is made to look like a food truck! When my friend and I came here at around 6 on a Saturday, we were seated immediately. The vibe inside is really fun and would be perfect for any kind of celebratory dinner. It was incredibly loud though, as they had reggaeton music blasting which made it hard to hear someone sitting right across the table from you. For dinner I got three tacos, which was the perfect amount. They didn't skimp on the lime wedges, and I enjoyed drenching them all with lime juice! My favorite was the chicken tinga taco, because the chicken was really tender and flavorful, and the queso fresco on top was delicious and fresh. I also was surprised to find that I enjoyed the mushrooms al pastor taco as well. The mushrooms were smoky and spicy, which paired well with the guacamole on top. The carnitas taco was ok, but I found the meat to be a little dry.

Such a cute place. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. No crowd so service was quick. Servers were nice and attentive. Drinks were delicious!!! The tacos were solid, the best was the chicken. Also tried the blackened fish and fried chicken-those were just ok. Would definitely go back. Looking forward to trying the bottomless taco and drinks next time

Amazing! Stopped by without a reservation and seated at the bar immediately. The drinks were strong and the guac and queso were perfect with the fresh chips. The bartender was very attentive and helpful with drink recommendations. The inside was cute and clean and there were multiple seating options and cute decor inside.

I have been here a couple of times since I used to live nearby and this is one of my FAVORITE (if not favorite) Mexican restaurant in NYC!! I took my dad here and he loved it. I'm vegetarian and they have so many vegetarian options. My favorite is the cauliflower taco. I came for mix and match Mondays and got their margaritas which were bomb as well. Their queso is amazing too and chips are so fresh!!! This place is such a breath of fresh air for a casual and not overpriced (finally) Mexican place. It's not caught up with being super trendy or bougiee which feels like almost every place in NYC. Good food, good atmosphere, good prices, and good service. Please don't ever change!!

Good happy hour deals. Didn't love the tacos but enjoyed the nachos and the drinks. Good service and enjoyed the seating which was indoor but very good sidewalk views for people watching.

I stopped ordering from here and I guess it was for good reason. Literally a year ago I got cold, disappointing food, and tonight I ordered three tacos with the corn on the cobs. Food is literally cold to the touch which I don't understand because delivery guy had a car...One taco is completely destroyed and it's fallen apart from the bottom so I can't really eat it properly without eating it with a fork and knife. All of my food is cold and I had to turn my oven on. If you're charging this much per taco, at least make sure they taste good, are presentable, aren't soggy and aren't COLD.. at this point I'm regretting not getting Taco Bell

Wanted a good happy hour after a long day of work. Came here and wasn't disappointed. Prices were good, the drinks and food were equally good. Typical tacos and drinks. Would return if I was in the area again.

Good vibes and good food! Came here for dinner Friday night at 8pm and the place was popping. We had a reservation so didn't have to wait. For 5 people, we got chips and guac to share and each got 2 tacos. I usually don't like guac, but this place's guac was quite good! I got the friend chicken and the pork belly taco and both were great. The chicken was quite delicious and juicy. The pork was a little fatty but good.

I had a wonderful time at Street Taco last weekend with my friends. When we got there, we were seated and given chips and salsa. The menu had a variety of options, including tacos, salads, and shareable items. We ordered the Pork Belly, Carne Asada, Chicken Tinga, and Fried Shrimp tacos, and they were all delicious. We've also tried their Yuca Fries, Street Corn Pops (SO GOOD), and their Quesadilla. I highly recommend trying the margaritas and checking out their selection of frozen drinks, mocktails, cocktails, wines, and beer. There are also some Plant Based options on their menu as well. What are you waiting for!? Check out Street Taco! You won't regret it!

The restaurant is LOUD at least on a Friday night. The tacos I had (fried shrimp, blackened fish) were both fine but not great. The shrimp one had what tasted like an out of the bottle chili sauce. Tortillas were a bit bland. The shrimp and fish itself were underwhelming - not super generous portion of shrimp, fish had sort of nondescript smoky flavor. The guacamole could have used more in it - it seemed to be missing tomato, onion, lime, etc. and really was just seasoned avocado with cilantro. That being said prices ($6ish/taco) were reasonable and as a whole, it was still tasty enough. Waiters were friendly and restaurant was upbeat. Would come back for the experience but food could be improved-- if they could essentially replicate Dorado's tacos (West Village) this place would be awesome.

Came for happy hour (the only happy hour promotion is a discount on some margaritas and possibly some beers?). So not the best happy hour deal, but the tacos are affordable ($5-6 each). They are on the smaller side, so whatever number you usually order add one extra. I had 5 for dinner and was satiated. The guacamole is good and the medium is fairly spicy which I liked. I tried the chorizo, pollo asado, carnitas, carne asada and chicken tinga. The chicken tinga and carnitas were the best as they had the most flavor. The pollo asado was my least favorite as it was the blandest. The chorizo and carne asada were good just a little dry. Overall, the tacos won't blow your mind, but they are solid and satisfy a craving if you want tacos and are in the area. The service is okay, it was a bit hard at times to get the attention of a server, but the location is fairly big and nice on the inside.

I was feeling down and needed a happy moment or two. Found both with good food and great drinks at Street Taco. I was in the neighborhood and saw the sign out front for happy hour. Mood lighting accentuated with bright colors, and not too crowded. Just my vibe. There's a bright orange VW van in the back that serves as the kitchen counter, and the best part- Bad Bunny is in the drivers seat! There are big murals, brick and wood decor. Stepped up to the bar and it felt cozy. I ordered a Passion fruit jalapeño margarita $9 and mini nachos $6 (which were not so mini) off the HH menu. Loved the margarita. Sweet but not overly, with a spicy kick. As for the nachos, they were big enough for two me's, because I had leftovers. Needed to try one more thing, so I ordered a mini Brussels Sprouts Taco $3 and a Tecate $5 from Arturo. He was a lovely bartender. Friendly and attentive. Especially when he included me in a smooth tequila shot. That was nice. Parker from the restaurant was sitting at the bar next to me and made my glum, lonely night into a much better one. Chelsea and Andi rounded out the bar scene. With a disco ball, Street Taco Bingo, Taco Tuesday specials and a DJ on the weekends, Id have to imagine it gets rowdy here. For a Sunday night, it was quiet and perfect. I'm looking forward to coming back!

This place is a go to of mine and has been for years. Great vibes, very fast service, lots of great vegetarian options, and a lot of food for the money. With such great value and location it's a must have on your list. The nachos are particularly spectacular. Don't skip the cocktails either.

Favorite taco spot in NYC. Love all their salsas and chips. Favorite taco is probably the Brussel sprouts one, followed by fish. Very friendly and quick service always. Highly recommend it if you are in need of a quick Mexican fix that's not chipotle.

Awesome little spot, my girlfriend and I got seated right away. Frozen margarita was super good and after one I wouldn't recommend driving. Tacos had a ton of flavor and were super filling. Service was perfect, our waitress who was also the host while serving was knowledgeable with the menu and very polite. Also refilled our chips without having to ask. Not a doubt we will be back.

First of all, this place is so much fun to go out with friends and family, The receptionist was very nice and sat us right away. I there was a street taco on the upper west side, I'm so mad I didn't try it first (it was closer to me) I was really missing out. The appetizers were amazing the yuka fries were to die for, and the drinks were strong and delicious!

We returned for late dinner on a Friday evening with a reservation. The place was packed as expected. They had a DJ there as well. The place kind of seemed really cramped. It felt like they had added more seats than last time. We had a wait for a bit to get seated. We sat in the patio extension type place which was covered but it was still cold there. The service was good. The micheladas were good. We got there at 10PM right in time for happy hour. We got the mini nachos which were really good. We also got a lot of tacos. I generally feel like the taste of the tacos has kind of regressed a bit since the first time I ate here. Nonetheless, it's still a great late night spot.

Street taco is my favorite spot. The bar seats are so comfy so I love posting up and drinking some tasty margs and tacos. The mini nachos are my fave but i also love the chicken tinga, carne asada and brussel sprout tacos. Def a must-try

Great place for group meals! My friends and I made a reservation here for a large group ~15 for Friday lunch and they were very accommodating. Service was quick and we all enjoyed our food!

A dish so fine that it has its own day to shine! Street Taco has some of the best tacos that probably your neighborhood bodegas can't make. And to top that off, your food is literally prepared in a taco truck! (not kidding, you'll need to visit this place to believe me). Our favorites: Crispy Brussels sprouts taco, Blackened mushroom taco and my favorite, Blacked fish taco. All prepared with fresh ingredients, packed with flavors. For apps get their Street Corn Pops: these are soo good! Comes with Mayo, Cotija cheese and lime (YUM). PS: They have Margaritas on draft! Need I say more?

Street Taco has it all: Cute concept, delicious food and drinks, wide-ranging hours. We liked it so much that we got takeout from them the day after stopping in on a whim for some late night bites. Dine in if you can, as the interior is super fun: Mexican street art lines the walls and the kitchen is made to look like a taco truck. They have a pretty sizable menu of drinks, including reasonably priced cocktails. There's a whole section of the menu devoted to margaritas, although I was little wary as I was told some of them (e.g. the watermelon) were pretty sweet. I opted to play it safe with the classic, which was simple but refreshing and clearly made with a good-quality tequila (Milagro Silver), fresh-squeezed lime, and agave. Both at the restaurant and at home, we enjoyed starting with an order of Mexican Street Corn Pops (Mayo, Chili, Cotija, Lime), which comes in three smallish pieces. This is basically your classic, savory Mexican street corn, done perfectly. The pops come out piping hot and they're just addictive. Otherwise we just tried tacos, some of which are pretty standard taco fare and some of which deviate quite a bit. Most are served in a flour tortilla, which I actually prefer to corn. Tuna tartare (Soy, Sesame, Ginger, Yuzu, Onion, Avocado Crema, Cilantro): These little guys are served in a crispy wanton shell. The tuna is incredibly fresh and I loved the addition of the avocado crema. They're SO good, and given the small size, you'll want more than one. Blackened fish (Market Fish, Slaw, Jalapeno Aioli, Cilantro): one of my favorites. The fish is tasty and the tangy slaw rather addictive. Blackened mushroom (Portobello, Pico, Avocado Crema, Cotija, Radish): the delicious, fresh salsa really stood out in this one. The mushroom was slightly overwhelmed by other flavors. Chicken tinga (Crema, Cotija, Onion, Cilantro): one of the more standard options. Good and only very mildly spicy. Fried shrimp (Slaw, Sweet Chili, Cilantro): I only had one bite so can't really speak to it, but my partner liked it enough to order it a second time.

The food was average but the hostess and the bartender were the worst! I'd stay away. The place was cute otherwise but can do without these two.

I was in the area for a concert and searching for a place to eat. My friends and I happened to pass by Street Taco and decided to try them out. We were seated right away and looked over the menu. Tacos are about $5-6 each. I had the carne asada and pork carnitas. The portions were generous. I liked the carne asada taco but the star was the carnitas taco. It was packed with flavor, I really wish I would've ordered another one. We shared guacamole and chips which we all enjoyed. The chips and guac tasted fresh. We ordered the mild guac which has a nice kick to it. I also had a margarita and really enjoyed it! Overall, I had a good experience and would stop by again if I'm in the area.

I really wanted them to do better; The place is cool The tacos are good and decent I wasn't wowed I over ordered and waited and waited and then wasn't thrilled by any of it. It was all very straight forward compared to the way the menu made me feel. I felt that every single taco could have been better; where one was dry another three lacked toppings, another tasted fishy, and perhaps I should have gotten different things. I wasn't thrilled that they featured a coconut marg but not at the time I was there so I tried ordering a Bloody Mary and they apparently don't offer that either... I struck out left and right.... It was just an okay experience as I see it, maybe 3.5 stars but definitely not 4

SUCH a great spot for tacos in this area. I highly recommend this spot. From the food to the ambiance, this place is great for catching up with a friend or going on a date night. Be sure to come on Mondays when they have margarita flights and taco samplers! The guac, salsa and cheese dip are must-gets for the table- duh! I love that you can customize your spice level for the guac and that they have multiple salsa options. For tacos, the brussel sprout taco was probably my fav. It had that delicious savory, salty sweet bite that I'm so addicted to. Other must gets are the Pork belly and blackened fish. I got 4 tacos was stuffed! Well, I also had filled up on chips and dips (I can't help myself!!) The margs were also good, thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait to come back. 4.8/5

I live across the street and have been here many times. I went in with some neighbors and everything was fine until we asked to pay. We were told to scan a QR code for a platform called Sunday which charged us a platform fee as well as forcing us to add additional tip even though gratuity was already included. It's just ridiculous and unnecessary. I think all of us are over paying extra fees for no reason. I won't be returning until/unless they allow us to pay the normal way.

I can't get enough of this breakfast sandwich and the vibes here are immaculate! I was helped by Monica and Jessica, they were wonderful servers that made my time here very enjoyable. The food was amazing and definitely will be back!

This place is such a cute dive. It is located on the corner of 26th and 3rd and is absolutely amazing. They literally have a taco truck design for the kitchen. This is my third time coming here. They're tacos are delicious and obviously cooked fresh and quick just like a street taco. And the prices are great! This is a great date spot or place to bring friends. Enjoy! Despite the name, Street Taco is actually a trendy looking spot that serves American style Mexican food. They definitely make most of their money off drinks, because the menu is pretty bare overall. It mainly consists of tacos, quesadillas, chips with guacamole and nachos with cheese. You will not find any food plates or any real Mexican food here. The quesadillas were relatively tasty and a good size at least. Their drinks at least are strong if you are looking for a spot to bar hop. We tried several margaritas and all of them had a good kick to them. They even have a couple of margaritas with jalapeno (passion fruit or blood orange). We tried both and the jalapeno have a unique and spicy twist.

Just went for some snacks on a random week night, but it was lovely! Ambience was great, and it still felt lively on a week day. Guac and queso were so yummy and service was good

Stopped by for a quick drink with a friend our first night in town and it was very nicely decorated with a dim intriguing ambiance. I would recommend and return here. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks were spicy and refreshing just as we wanted. I especially liked that it was open late during the weekday.

I used to love this place. They now have a new chef who's changed the menu and ruined the food. Nachos specifically now are flour tortillas with some creamy white spluge on them. No beans. No corn tortillas. Same spluge is on the Queso fries. Why does a new chef mess with a good thing? Margaritas were still good. Friendly staff.

The tacos here always deliver and it's not super crowded the times I've come here. Our server was very welcoming and gave us plenty of time to choose which tacos to eat. The carne asada wasn't as great as I remember but the fried chicken taco was on the money! Also, it's a great spot to just chill and take in some summer vibes. What else can you want from a taco spot?

I came here with a larger party on a sunday for lunch and the restaurant wasn't very busy. The restaurant takes reservations so if you're more of a planner that helps. We got for the table and ordered mild so the kids could try it and it was decently seasoned. The chips were crispy and warm. We also got the fries and the sauce that comes with it is sooo good. It's creamy with a kick and the thick cut potatoes were crispy on the outside and piping hot inside, be careful not to burn yourself! I ordered the Tuna Taco, it was refreshing and flavourful. In contrast to the savoury and rich pork belly taco which was also great. I think because we were a larger party they seated us at their biggest table, but we were right beside the kitchen window and so it was a bit noisy, i think since the restaurant wasn't as busy we could've asked to split into 2 smaller tables or possible asked for two tables to be moved together in a more spacious part of the restaurant. Overall if i was in the area and wanted a quick bite i would be down to eat here again and try some of their other tacos.

Love this place! Great for a birthday, dinner out, date night. Fits all the vibes. I think they have my favorite spicy margarita- its worth a pitcher! I never know what to get because I want it all! Quesadillas and tacos are both cant miss options. But hands down you must get the Mexican street corn - lip stick wearers, be aware its on the cobb! Will always tried and true come back here for a good marg and taco on the side of some good times with friends. Make a reservation- this place fills up!
