The 21 Best Restaurants In Margate

"When you want to have a few glasses of wine sitting on a sofa, but not your sofa, there’s Streets. The front end of this natural wine and small plates spot in Margate is set up like a living room. The other side of the bar, towards the back, is a bit moodier. It’s as comfortable as popping round to a mate’s house, but with better interiors, a better playlist, and a crunchy, tangy bhel puri that beats the Doritos they usually put out. The food is Indian-inspired, like tasty lamb boti kebab and masala dal with flaky paratha. " - jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Streets Review - Margate - London - The Infatuation

"When you want to have a few glasses of wine sitting on a sofa or in the kitchen, but not your sofa or kitchen, there’s Streets. The front end of this natural wine and small plates spot in Margate is set up like a living room. But with a green mid-century sofa that’s cooler than yours. The other side of the bar, towards the back, is a bit moodier, with low-level lighting and a massive communal table that feels kitchen island-esque. It’s as comfortable as popping round to a mate’s house, but with better interiors, a better playlist, and a crunchy, tangy bhel puri that beats the Doritos they usually put out. The food changes often and spans different cuisines but Streets does good, wine-soaking dishes like a tasty lamb boti kebab and masala dal with a flaky paratha. While it’s by no means the reason you go here, it’s much better than the sad charcuterie spread you’d do at home. " - Sinéad Cranna

Good food and great service. Atmosphere was nice and fairly busy. I am not a fan of small plates but that's what they do here, which works well but can be pricey. The cuisine is Indian but with a twist. The taste was good and some interesting dishes. I think they change the menu regularly. The panna cotta was amazing. Staff were great. On a wet dark day we found the place hard to find. It was between to bright lit shops and the restaurant/ bar Sign could not be seen and was not lit up. The windows were full of condensation so you couldn't even see in. But we did find it and we enjoyed the food and drinks.

One of my favourite places for a glass of wine in Margate! Vik is so knowledgeable about wine and he's always serving something delicious. It's a super cosy, friendly atmosphere too.

We came here with a group of 10 for NYE and we had their feasting menu. The food was honestly some of the best Indian food we've had in recent memory. The Chef did a little intro to each dish which was really cool and the staff were super attentive and friendly. The vibe, music and drinks were also amazing (special shout out to the picklebacks!). Over all we had a fantastic evening at Streets and we shall we back when we visit Margate again!

Food quality is excellent. Portions are much too small. We were told the starters were best as two plates between two people to share but the onion bhaji was one single bhaji. We were told the rice was three people per portion. One portion was around three quarters of a portion per person! The curries were supposed to be shared but again, one portion was less than a regular one person portion. When ordering drinks we weren’t being listened to. If we ordered multiple of one drink, we only received one of each and had to ask a second time for the rest. Paratha is amazing but order 3 times more portions than they tell you to! Definitely expensive for how much food should be ordered for a full meal.
