Atlanta Restaurant Deals for Furloughed Federal Employees During the Government Shutdown | Eater Atlanta

"I learned that StreetWise Care Pantry is setting up a mobile pantry in the parking lot of Lawrenceville City Hall on Saturday, January 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide food to up to 200 furloughed federal workers or those working without pay with valid IDs, first come, first served." - Beth McKibben

Yesterday 8/25/2025 I visited Street Wise for the first time. My experience was amazing and memorable. From the moment I arrived everyone had smiles on their faces, greeting everyone with open arms and love. My advisor was Ms.Nancy. Who I adore so much. She took her time with me, made sure she had all documentation correct information. We talked and we also prayed together. She was very consistent and we were done at a great time. As long as you’re honest, come prepared and come with a smile and open heart I promise your experience will be just as great. Be sure to tell your friends and family who are in need of food, clothing and or PRAYER! Thank you Street Wise for your warm welcome and kind words. See you all again next time.

Great organization that does alot for the community. The people there are sincere. You can tell that they actually care and want to help. You can feel the love from the people, which is rare being that they don't actually know you. I would recommend to anyone.

The people here are very kind. The process is organized and smooth, no need to bring paperwork nor come inside. The only problem is if you miss an appointment you will get banned for 4 months. I'm partially disabled and struggle to get out of the house sometimes, so I've missed an appointment twice. It's kinda harsh to get banned for that long, but I understand that they don't want to waste food on no-shows.

I was in need of some extra help so I went to the food pantry, came home and meat is expired since June, bread and pastries 2 weeks ago, veggies were molded and the only good thing was cans of vegetables. It's really upsetting when you are in need and you actually go for help, this is what happened.

Such an awesome thing these people do and most are super sweet . They pray with me provide food for up to 6wks and they have a clothes closet. I have only 1 person be rude in all of them that I’ve met. They don’t make you feel belittled for needing help. God bless you all!!

Oh my gosh the love was beautiful and welcoming. But I want to talk about the meat, pork, bacon, turkeys and package ready to eat food we’re all expired and some of them are on the recall list. I was so excited but after getting home and ready to store them I found out to my greatest surprise lots of the food I got today were all expired and some on recall . Please check the dates and check it if it’s on recall. Thanks to all the amazing volunteers and the amazing prayer from salvation Sally♥️ I just found some more foods that have expired from 2021, January, February 2022. This is very sad and wrong
