"Strega Waterfront is one of several restaurants in the family of the Varano Group, run by Nick Varano. It embodies a lively atmosphere with larger-than-life Italian fare and a distinctive style. The restaurant's ambiance is described as having casino-infused pomp and glitz, with barmaids and hostesses dressed in high heels with ebullient cleavage, whereas the waiters are all male." - Dana Hatic

Everything was amazing. S/o to our waiter Isaiah! Recommended me to try the Berry Bourban smash and it was delicious!!! I called in and let them know to have a special table for us to celebrate my friends pregnancy. Isaiah came over to greet us with Mock Champagne toast. Her Mocktail was also delicious. Food was outstanding. Misto frito consisted of fried shrimp, calamari, zucchini & Calabrian aioli. They did not skimp out on the portion either. The eggplant app was so incredibly delicious AND crispy!! I got the bolognese with Braised Beef and Pork Ragu — mouthwatering. My friend for the octopus pasta which she loved. And dessert was also soooo good. Everything was amazing from start to finish. THIS is what I look for when I go out to eat. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
Cheese and Meat Board was very good. Filet Mignon was very below average for an expensive steak. Ordered medium which was done right but the outside was hard and the steak overall was tough. Have got much better steaks at other steakhouses. The other dish was a scallops and risotto which was good. Overall not a good experience and wouldn’t be back.

Google
Excellent Italian food here! Just had a wonderful dinner and I look forward to eating the leftovers. The pizzele appetizer was fantastic—I would 100% get it again as it may have been one of the best prosciutto dishes I’ve eaten. I loved my bolognese—very warm and flavorful on a rainy day. We didn’t love the dessert options so we opted out, but you can’t go wrong with most of the dishes here. High quality pasta and ingredients.

I cannot say enough about Strega since the new ownership took over a couple years ago. We have maybe 3 favorite restaurants in Boston (all very different) and Strega in seaport is one of them. Note that our excitement and loyalty is only to the seaport location! First, the food. The meatballs are the best we’ve ever had in our lives and we are meatball connoisseurs. Every time we come back, our first bite of the meatballs reminds us that they are award winning and honestly renders me speechless. “OMG” is about all I can muster under the influence of the flavor and tenderness, which is perfection. Next, we usually each order the filet mignon, medium rare. It is perfect every time. The mushrooms and sauce go perfectly. Also a dish that will make you nod emphatically while you savor each bite. I’ve also tried the osso buco (?) and it melts in your mouth. Definitely a different flavor profile than the filet dish, especially since it comes with a risotto. Most recently, they had a ribeye special that came with cannellini beans on the side. The ribeye was marinated in an anchovy olive oil sauce, which I admit sounded out of place. But trust, it was out of this world. The cut of ribeye was the most tender I’ve ever eaten. I like it slightly more cooked than a filet to make the most of the flavorful marbling, at a medium temp. Strega gets the best cuts and they know where their meat comes from, which we appreciate. The care in the selection is obvious. Desserts are phenomenal. Our favorites are the key lime pie and chocolate torta. Cappuccino is perfection. Now, about the service. We love having Max as our server! We request him every time. He is a true professional at his craft. He is attentive and makes us feel special every time. He knows the menu and specials inside and out. We have on occasion had a few other servers when we have gone on Max’s off nights. They were *fine* but honestly it wasn’t the same. The food stands on its own, but having Max is a big part of the equation in loving our experience. My particularly ordered drink was on point. We sat in the lounge for the first time, and found that we enjoyed the upbeat vibe and watching the activity of the bartenders. I do think it’s a bit more energetic than the main dining room. Same menu. We appreciate the GM coming over to check on us, as well as other managers and staff. These small acts truly add up to the bigger experience, especially when celebrating an anniversary or birthday etc. THANK YOU Strega and Max for celebrating with us and making us feel special! See you again soon!

I went on a Sunday at 5 pm. with a friend (they open at 4 pm this day). There were a few people in the establishment, but not at full capacity. The atmosphere is elegant and sleek. I sat at the bar, seats were very comfortable, and the bartender was amazing (great conversation with her). I ordered wine, so I'm not sure of the cocktails. They also give you bread and oil (which was very good). I ordered the 'Cacio E Pepe' with goat cheese ( it was so good). For dessert, I had the 'key lime pie', it was very sweet (too sweet for me. It can also be a shareable dessert). I'm definitely going here again.

Google
the food was good but not great (not worth the price IMO) we had dinner there and found it a bit weird that there were almost no other parties there (maybe for a reason). however, the service was great and the waiters were wonderful. the manager even came to check on us and see if we were doing alright.

Google
I tried that place couple of times. I tried almost every appetizer they have on the menu as I went in big groups. All their appetizers are amazing! Spot on. Their eggplant is soooo good that it feels like you’re eating meat! Their prosciutto is so fresh and great. The fried calamari is phenomenal. The meatballs are flavor bombs!! I also tried few drinks; Manhattan, Negroni, and different wine selections, all were good. Regarding the main entrees; I tried the cioppino and veal osso buco. The cioppino is good, good selection of seafood mix. The veal osso buco on the other hand was the highlight of that place! Excellent choice. Meat is so tender and melts in your mouth. It slides off the bone so easily. If you get to try one thing here, go for the veal osso buco, trust me!! For desserts; I tried tiramisu and key lime pie and both were very good, but the key lime pie was a little better.

We went to Strega at the Seaport for our 7 year anniversary and had the most beautiful, romantic dinner. It was my first time there and my fiance had been to the one in north end before but not the seaport. Our waiter, Max, was hospitable, friendly, and very professional the entire 2.5 hours we spent there, never once rushing us or bringing out meals too quickly. The restaurant prides itself on the total experience of food and company as was apparent that we were able to fully enjoy each plate and drink before feeling rushed into the next meal. Food was exquisitie, oysters were the best we had so far in our 6 years eating them all over the country. appetizers and dinners were gorgeously presented and service by Max was always with a smile. He recommended a great wine for me to go with dinner which I loved, and it was obvious Max loved his job as a server! We will definitely come back and look forward to the sensational view that goes along with the dining experience at Strega!

Anna C.

Yelp
Jules was the best hostess ever!! So kind and gave a very accurate representation of the wait which my group appreciated very much! She is fabulous

Nancy H.

Yelp
Nice place. Service was slow. Food was okay but overpriced since it was in seaport. I ordered the linguine alle vongole (I forgot to photograph it until I finished it) but it was like I ate a packeted ramen. It was soupy? Drinks were pretty terrible. I only took one sip.

Marilyn T.

Yelp
The last time I was at a conference in Seaport was around 2017, and at the time, there really wasn't much there, so I was happily surprised to see how built up the area was. Strega is an old school north end institution, and I was surprised they had a location here. We had a very large party, which they were able to accommodate. Drinks: - Seaport mai tai: a bit sweet - Jeremy's Manhattan: spirit driven Food: - Burrata: with grilled focaccia, pesto - Grilled octopus: good char and texture, really liked the squid ink aioli - Fritto misto: a huge plate - Cavatelli e salciccia: generous on the sausage, good flavor, good texture but not quite the same as the thicker type of cavatelli I'm used to Desserts: all best for sharing except the affogato - Affogato: classic, with biscotti - Torta di cioccolato: intense, good but definitely meant for sharing - Key lime pie: also huge - Berry crumble: served warm It was a different feel from the north end location. Portions were big, and j would recommend ordering family style. It's nice to see more options in seaport.

Yelp
Haven't gone for dinner yet but I got to check out their late night after dark specials! A fun spot for late night bites and drinks. I wouldn't say the food was particularly outstanding or tasty, but this is an awesome spot to hang with friends, considering how late they open til. The service wasn't super slow but I wouldn't say it was quick either. My friend and I tried a couple options, but only really enjoyed the Strega mini meatball sub. Drink wise, loving the Sweet Sorrento (their version of a limoncello, sweet and smooth indeed) and the S'mores after dark (very dessert like)!

Yelp
I came here for dinner on a Friday night and had an amazing experience. My server Jon was so hospitable. I wasn't sure on my wine selection and he let me try two wines before I confirmed which one I enjoyed to have a glass of. The bread, gosh, was perfection. It was moist and spongy on the inside and the outside was crisp and with the olive oil, was to die for. All of the food came out piping hot and so fresh. The pasta dish had an abundance of sauce and whole pine nuts which added a welcomed crunch to the meal. Highly recommend!

Debra M.

Yelp
The food was really great as was the atmosphere. The service was very very very slow. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or if we were just deemed unworthy of good service‍

C B.

Yelp
The food was fabulous Our Waiter Max was a amazing Appreciate the food options The manager as well but didn't catch his name was wonderful Over all a huge thank you for making my fathers birthday dinner Restrooms are very clean and organized The table staff even had smiles and made sure water bread and any items needed is available

Joe C.

Yelp
Strega lives up to expectations. The menu is mixed Northern and Southern Italian cuisine. All our dishes were well prepared and the service was excellent. Wine list was extensive and featured many regional Italian choices not commonly found in better Italian restaurants. Only issue was the valet parking wasn't available.

Julienne P.

Yelp
We ordered lamb chops, dry aged ribeyes, scallops risotto, calamari, 12 oysters, 2 cosmos, 2 dirty martini, 1 passion fruit drink, and a bottle of wine. For sides, we got 1 truffle fettuccine Alfredo & caccio peppe. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu. All were excellent except the tiramisu and caccio peppe. The tiramisu was way oversoaked in coffee liqueur and overwhelmingly sweet. I had exactly 1 bite and couldn't eat more. Would not recommend this dessert at all here. Our waiter was really great and accommodating!

Emma M.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Unfortunately my 15 1/2 year old son found a piece of a scour pad in his pasta. They offered us to deduct his meal out of our bill, but imagine if he wasn't paying close attention and swallowed that. Not much of an ambiance the place was a little bit dark, maybe it was where we were seated. My husband went and showed them the scour pad and told them to be careful for next time! We took it easy and didn't make a big ordeal about it, but if it was another paying customer they might have handled it differently.

Stephon M.

Yelp
Oxtail risotto was decent but fairly small portion I was here for a business dinner (out of towners in tow) and the service was underwhelming to the point where we just wanted to close out and go to a nearby bar for drinks which is what we did. All the other meals were delicious. The board came out with the meals so it was weird and we didn't really put a dent in it. Overall delicious food but bad service and for the price of everything I expected better.

Adriana S.

Yelp
Dark. Warm. Amazing. Steak, oysters,. Service always great! In walking distance to fairmont plaza. Location was the factor for dinner but definitely worth a drive in the future!!!

Colin W.

Yelp
Poor service: slow, inaccurate. 45 minutes before any food arrived. Server at first denied we had ordered an item "You didn't order it from me. The busser doesn't speak English." When I reminded him of our conversation several minutes earlier, he admitted his error. Mediocre food with sky high price.

Roberta C.

Yelp
What an amazing evening we had. The food was excellent but the service was superb. John our waiter was spot on answering questions about our meal selection. Hats off to the manager Brian who was extremely helpful as well A defined trip back August 24, 2024

Yelp
I came across Strega Italiano by accident. Before my trip to Boston, I hit up YouTube to find a new, happening spot. I found a video with Sal Valentinetti, The singer from Long Island. He's in Boston making a video with the owner from Strega. The owner Nick Varano seems legit, I check how far I have to walk from my hotel to the North End and I see Strega Italiano Seaport is just a few blocks away! I made a reservation for my first night in Boston. Walking in, this is not a typical North End restaurant. The restaurant is on the waterfront and tastefully decorated. The front desk asked if I wanted to sit by the bar, which looked very nice but I'm going to need some room so I asked for a two top. I knew to bring a raincoat, it was starting to rain when I was walking to the restaurant. Now, my entire menu plan pivoted. I need something warm to start, I would have asked for a bowl of pastina but I'm not a nonna's house. I started with a nice hot bowl of Italian Wedding Soup. As a kid, this was my favorite soup. I would grate so much cheese, you couldn't see the soup! The Strega Italian Wedding Soup is nothing like I ever had, it was clearly prepared by a chef. The vegetables are cut by a chef, the rich broth is cheff'd up, just a perfect starter for this cold Italian guy. My cocktail is totally on point. I started with a cocktail, the Barrel Aged Negroni. Made with French Citadelle gin and campari cinzano, Cin Cin! Now, the gloves are off. I want to taste the best Strega has to offer. I ordered my favorite pasta, Rigatoni Bolognese. Made with a low braised beef and pork ragù, It was served to me in a hot dish. I also liked the dab of ricotta on top, this was a proper Italian serving. No one is eating a mound of pasta, this was the perfect amount. I loved the rustic taste of the ragù, just a great entree. My waiter? Totally cool guy. He said he grew up in the area. I threw him a curve ball and asked him about the two Tuscan wines offerings. Not only did he give me the correct response, he explained one wine was barrel aged and the other was made in stainless steel so the wine complexities are going to be different. As a matter of fact, all of the wait staff was all over me. How are you sir? Anything I can get for you? Everything is Perfecto. The waiter asked me, would I like dessert? It's raining outside and I'm sure they have a great dessert selection. I'm in Boston for a short time, I gotta get a cannoli and coffee at the north end. I put on my hood, pay the bill and walk to the North End. Sal Valentinetti would approve.

Lisa S.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing. The food was delectable and unforgettable. The meatballs just melted in your mouth and the chicken Marsala was quite tasty. The service was also outstanding! I highly recommend this place

Rob R.

Yelp
Went here with my family. My sister has an alcohol intolerance so she didn't order a drink. The wait staff more or less harassed her. They kept bringing it up throughout our meal. Really ruined our experience. That experience totally overshadowed my experience and I can't recommend Strega.

Jon T.

Yelp
I recently came here as part of a work dinner and did not have the highest of expectations ahead of time. The menu looked sorely lacking of any plant-based options. However, I figured at least the experience/service might make up for whatever lack of options they may have. Unfortunately, this was not the case. While we did get seated and served drinks and apps in a reasonable timeframe, it then took an hour to get our entrees. During that time, no one came over to ask if we wanted to order more drinks, or even apologize, until one of the people at our table mentioned something to a server, who escalated it up to the manager on duty. When he did come over, he aired the dirty laundry for the restaurant (not enough people, etc.) without offering any real apology to us or consolation for the long wait and bad service. What was even more strange is that when we did order drinks afterwards these too had to be followed up on (how hard is it to bring out a can of beer?) As for my meal, unfortunately, it was what I anticipated--one of their standard meals stripped away of protein, leaving just pasta and a few bits of asparagus and baby broccoli. The fact that restaurants don't seem to understand that adding beans, lentils, etc. or SOME protein source is needed is mindboggling. I'm not expecting them to have plant-based cheese on-site, or even mock meats, but there was no consideration for the nutritional value of the dish they pawned off as their vegan option. Fortunately, I didn't have to pay for this meal but I would certainly never go again, even if it was being covered by someone else.

Ersa L.

Yelp
I dinned here recently with a big group for a birthday gathering and was extremely disappointed with the wait for the meal and the food itself. I do not usually write reviews, but this experience had me truly upset as everyone's dishes were super salty, the sauce was watered down, and the overall taste was terrible. 0 out of 10, it does not even deserve one star. The worst food I have had at any restaurant in Boston.

Robin P.

Yelp
Literally, the worst reservations experience that I have ever had. They called and left a message during my workday telling me that I had 2 hours to call them back or they were going to drop my reservation because they were busy. I have never seen that before - I had just made the reservation that day. I did call them back, and they said that they had already given the reservation away. I have never seen that before. They offered no apology. Their manager on Friday was exceptionally rude. He told me that 'they can do whatever they want.' I asked him what I should do (party of 8) at this point. He told that me was none of his business and hung up. I have never seen anything like this. Please don't book a large party with them. You will be left out in the cold like our party is.

Maria G.

Yelp
It was our wedding anniversary dinner. They started us with two complimentary glasses of Prosecco! What a delightful surprise. The pasta dishes were perfect! The staff was exceptional. We'll be back!

Jessica L.

Yelp
Ate here last night with my family. A great experience. I had the hibiscus margarita and chocolate martini for dessert they were both excellent. For apps we had the ravioli and mixto fritto. Amazing the fried zucchini in the mixto was the best part for me. The breading they use is nicely seasoned. For dinner we had the Bronzino, bolognese and fettuccine. I added shrimp to the fettuccine. All were delicious. You can taste every flavor in each bite. For dessert we had a cannoli for my birthday, tiramisu and the bread pudding. The bread pudding was the absolute best dessert . It was sooo good. I would definitely come back for dinner or just apps or just drinks. My waiter Luis was great as well. He had nice recommendations, was friendly and kind.

Emma Z.

Yelp
Food was amazing. I highly recommend the Tomato soup. The pasta looked and tasted freshly handmade. I hope they add some more pasta-only vegetarian dishes in the future!!

My T.

Yelp
The food is ok. My fish came rotten was pink and brown. I had to send it back they offered free deserts lol. I couldn't eat anything else from them we paid our bill and tipped thd waiter. The place is extremely overhyped the food is overly priced for bad quality and extremely tiny servings. The place wasn't busy either which was nice other than that nothing was good about it.

Sanda O.

Yelp
Consistently excellent, not my first visit. Very honest bar, where the cocktails are neither small nor short in alcohol content. I always order the same martini in restaurants, and the results vary greatly... This was like the one I make myself. Service was polite and efficient, food was first quality. This last visit I had the Cezar Salad - which the waiter described as very large and offered to split, and there was normal-size salad for both of us, fresh and crisp, and with sufficient dressing (another fault of many other places, skimpy dressing) ; then I had the Sea Bass (branzini) that was perfectly prepared - not raw, not dry - and was delicious. Food arrived hot for both of us (another rare occurrence in other places) and at the right time. Atmosphere was pleasant and civilized, no screaming, no baseball caps, but lively. View from the table out the window was nice. The manager was present and stopped at tables to find out opinions. I will surely come back.

Kelly O.

Yelp
Ooof. Food was great. Ambiance was great. Worse service I've ever had. Server didn't write anything down- which is fine if you're good at your job. People brought over wrong items and didn't apologize or offer to bring over correct order. Forgot a meal completely. But the topper- towards the end of the meal we ordered glasses of wine to finish the night. From the glasses menu- even pointed to the one specifically we wanted. Picked one that was slightly more expensive because than the first glass . This time the server brought two bottles over and left them on the table. We pulled him a side and said oh we ordered glasses. He said of course. Pulled the bottles away but continued to just fill our glass as we talked. And then charged us for two full bottles and the previous glasses. Manipulative and just not how you do business.

Terri V.

Yelp
glasses dirty, bar area dirty service horrible. Light over bar needs to be clean also. This use to be the place to go for get great service, food and atmosphere . Not tonight.

Joe L.

Yelp
We showed up slightly early for our reservation and were immediately seated. Our reservation was for an outside table by the water, when the rain started our seats were swiftly moved to a beautiful view by the window. Luis was our waiter and made AMAZING recommendations from wine to the sauce in our entree. He was prompt and courteous when our glasses were low to refill them. The (assumed) GM came over to thank us for choosing the restaurant and make sure we were comfortable. The food was outstanding and came in perfect portions. Our entrees were: Appetizers: Lobster ravioli w/ vodka sauce Main course: 10oz filet minion med. rare with fresh roasted garlic clove on the side and fettuccini Alfredo with duck egg. 10oz filet minion and truffle fries Bottle of Bartenura moscato Piedmont. Highly recommend Strega as a great restaurant just steps from the water and views of the beautiful Boston skyline.

Don E.

Yelp
Had drinks and appetizers only. Pretty good . Near the water. Service was good. The appetizers were served hot and the fried zucchini was great.

Collin I.

Yelp
We went for our special dinner when we just moved to the city. Service was great. Drink menu and wine selection was amazing. The calamari appetizer was very fresh and fried perfectly. I enjoyed my dinner (pictured) but my girlfriend got a terrible stomach ache from the scallops. I tried a small price and it tasted sweet, which is an odd flavor for them. Might try the other location in back bay.

Jeanine W.

Yelp
I will NEVER EVER visit this restaurant again. I was a frequent customer when Nick Verano owned and operated this establishment. Please be aware that current owners do NOT value your business. I was there tonight having a nightcap with my boyfriend. We were there for 1 hour and NEVER acknowledged after our first drink. I finally went to the hostess and asked to speak to manager. He did not seem overly concerned, However, took care of our 2 drinks. It was not a busy night, and I am appalled at the response of the manager AND waitstaff.

Kyra D.

Yelp
Had some of the best lamb of my life here, go for that if you come! Cocktails are good too.

Suzanne R.

Yelp
We selected Strega for a family dinner/celebration. on the positive side, the restaurant was good about letting us move our scheduled time on short notice. We had the arancini appetizer, which was excellent. Our drinks were also very good. But that's where the accolades end. My son ordered chicken piccata and my daughter fettuccine. They mixed up the pasta dishes in the kitchen, apparently, and my daughter ate a plate of lemon-flavored pasta while my son's was decidedly not lemony enough. (Neither are complainers, so we didn't realize until near the end of the meal, when my husband and I sampled both.) I had a swordfish dish and a noticeable portion was fatty and inedible. The preparation was very uninspired--tomato and olives. I've had better swordfish at many other places. The service was ok. Nothing special. Overall, not worth the money. I will not be returning.

Rene' J.

Yelp
Starting on a positive note. The atmosphere is very nice with a hip elegant vibe. It's not quite on the water, but there are a few tables that have a bit of a waterview. The staff and our server were top notch. Started out with some nice focaccia and a fresh tasty salad. Our dinners were very underwhelming. The seafood scampi was in more of broth rather than a scampi sauce, the pasta was super starchy and soggy like it had been sitting in water. VERY little flavor. The rigatoni bolognese was okay, very low flavor profile and arrived at room temp. I will say the portions were generous. There is also a very good wine selection.

Thuy An N.

Yelp
11 of my girlfriends and I celebrated one of my friend's birthday on a week night at Strega Waterfront. Strega used to be one of my favorite restaurant, so i was very excited to go back after the pandemic. Unfortunately my friends and I were very disappointed. I am not sure if dining there on a weeknight had anything to do with it but it should not be an excuse. The food was so bad, nothing like i remembered. The pasta was undercooked and flavorless. My steak was dry, we ordered a lot of food any nothing was even decent. Even worst one of my friend found hair in one of our app. I can't express how disappointed i was. The price we paid for the quality of the food we got was robbery. Our waiter however was very nice and was trying to be as accommodating as much as possible. They did ended up giving us few free desserts at the end, unfortunately my friends and I will never come back.

tiffany c.

Yelp
I really enjoyed coming here. My boyfriend and I came here on celebration of a recent birthday and enjoyed our entrees very much. I had the roast half chicken over creamy pasta with capers, along with an affogato for dessert which was divine. The atmosphere was perfect for a fancy night out and given its location of being in the seaport added to its charm of having an amazing view to look out from.

Ellie W.

Yelp
The food here was fantastic, from the sea bass to lobster ravioli and octopus. The service, on the other hand, could use a little improvement. We had someone attempting to pour water in my glass pour everything all over the table, spilling it on me and my phone. Not one apology, he just went on his merry way. The waiter got our orders wrong, and again, no apology, simply replaced it. I know the restaurant was busy and everything was fast-paced, but at this price point, there's no excuse for the type of service I could've gotten at a high school cafeteria instead. I'll stick to the OG Strega in the North End...

Jerry L.

Yelp
I came here with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. We were seated immediately and right next to the giant windows and she really liked it. The table was beautifully set with a candle and a rose. The staff were friendly, also cleared off bits and pieces of food on our table each time they brought out plates of food. I let the staff know that it was my girlfriend's birthday and they gave her a birthday cannoli with a candle! The food was thoughtfully plated and tasted great. Would recommend!

Robert S.

Yelp
Excellent food. Excellent service. Not cheap, but not at all unreasonable given the quality. Would definitely return.

Edward W.

Yelp
I went here two months ago for lunch during the Restaurant Week promotion. It was much more spacious than the North End location. For appetizer, I got the Rollatini di Nico. The appetizer consisted of rolled up breaded eggplant with spinach, melted mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce poured on top of it. The portion was very generous. It was very savory. For entree, I chose the Crispy Chicken Milanese. The dish came with fried chicken breast with arugula, shaved parmesan, and tomatoes. The chicken was very tender and not dry. It was delicious. For dessert, I got the tiramisu cake. It was very moist and tasty. It was a great meal. I definitely recommend this place!

Michael P.

Yelp
Trying to find a good place to eat in the area, we came across Strega and thought it looked very nice, classy but cost efficient. We ordered Pinot Grecio to start and received complimentary bread & olive oil which were good. For our late lunch/dinner I ordered the Gizzy's favorite which is Penne with Spinach, Smoked Mozzarella, breaded Chicken Cutlet. It was very good and the chicken was excellent. My lady went with the Angel Hair pasta in a garlic & oil sauce, which taste good but probably better with a meat add-on. The restaurant itself has a classy feel, a lot of seating for large groups as well. With a bar area to the left side with about a dozen TV's playing sports. Near the dining side we were on there were 5 TV's playing nothing but mob movies (goodfellas, casino, bronx tale) which especially coming from someone that is of Italian heritage; I felt that was stereotypical and took away from the class of this place, which is also why I couldn't give this place 4 stars. Service was good, food was good. Ambiance and pictures of celebrities always nice. Might I add they also have an extensive wine list and a very expensive one too lol.

Yelp
We had a pleasant experience at Strega in the Waterfront. Weather was beautiful to be by the water. We made reservations over the phone prior for a large group of 15. When we were seated, they graciously gave us a private room! Which was nice because we had a few kids who like to run around and are loud. The food was delicious and fresh. We had free bread to start with, and had the fried calamari for appetizer. The sea bass was soft and flavorful , and the short rib was my dad's favorite. (See the pics I posted!) The seafood pasta was creamy. Prices are a bit more on the expensive side, but it's nice restaurant for a fancy occasion.

Yelp
Communication from the event coordinator for our company party was generic and impersonal. It was such a different feel from other restaurants we have been to as a company in Boston. Event coordinator never checked in in any way, even to confirm a headcount or confirm a request I had about having something ready for us on arrival. She did not introduce herself, or check in during our stay, and neither did the manager. We paid for a private room and server and several point throughout the night I was serving my guests wine as no one was there. I would expect to do this if I was hosting a group, not paying for a private experience. Fortunately next door at Empire they rocked it. They were welcoming and I even got a personal message from the owner thanking us for coming. We were told that to have the real strega experience we should go to the north end.

Yelp
I used to love it here. Food is hood but service is horrible. I went for a friends birthday with a few of the girls. I'm 8 months pregnant and asked for a mocktail and was rudely asked why by the waiter. He then proceeded to come to the table and handed me a drink with alcohol in it. I took a sip and to my disgust there was alcohol. I then asked for his attention to change the drink and he told me rudely to hold on. He sent the manager who proceeded to fight with me that there was no alcohol in my drink. at the end of the nigh they took nothing off the bill and charged one of the girls in our party $300 on her card when they were only supposed to charge $60. I won't ever go back. Boris (the other manager on duty last night) was the only good thing about this place.

Yelp
Went this weekend food was average the restaurant added $10 more to my final credit card charge. Thankfully I saved the receipt. They never told us the tip was included in the bill so seems they want to be double tipped at 40%.

Yelp
Came here for my boyfriends birthday dinner since he had been here several times over prior years and always enjoyed it It seems to have gone down hill. Similar to other reviews, the decor is somewhat stereotypical and slightly gaudy. We had a lovely waiter, but all around the food was disappointing. The highlight of our meal was the tuna carpaccio appetizer, which wan fine but nothing impressive. I have a soft spot for surf n turf so when we were told it was a special it seemed like a no brainer...unfortunately the $85 price tag left much to be desired. The lobster was coated with chopped/breaded shrimp and scallops. Much to our surprise everything seemed to be frozen, not fresh. We also shared the pappardelle Emiliano, which was good, but underwhelming for the $31 cost. Lastly, and probably most unfortunate, we ordered a piece of strawberry cheesecake and frankly it wasn't much better than frozen Sara Lee. The strawberry topping was actually hard so we scraped it off.

Yelp
Pretty hard for a pesto and italian food to have NO flavor or seasoning. They entirely forgot the prosciutto that was supposed to be in my gnocchi pesto. Drinks and apps were good although the charcuterie board was underwhelming - I do better at home. Also the bathrooms are surpassingly skeezy given the fact it's a new building and supposed to be a high end restaurant. Service was also poor/slow/unfriendly but giving the benefit of the doubt more a staffing issue. Overpriced for poor quality food - will not be going back

Yelp
Came to this place with my girlfriend on a double Date... I've visited Strega at the park plaza hotel as well, however the food here is ok and not great at least for the price you pay. Great customer service 5star the Ambiance is also great 5star the food is ok but not great for a steakhouse 3 1/2 star.

Yelp
9 of us arrived with a reservation for 8:45, made just earlier that day, looking forward to a nice meal after working together at an event at the nearby convention center. The bar was packed and hopping and made me unsure if dinner would be too loud and not quite the right atmosphere. But as we were seated 5 minutes later, we were walked through the dining room that quickly turned more quiet and intimate. The ambience is upscale and the service is equally so. Our server was attentive, professional, and also a pro at casually up-selling us. Enough so that our table of 1/2 salespeople and 1/2 who work closely with sales laughed about "game knows game" re: it. We started with calamari, mozzarella, fried oysters and pumpkin ravioli. Everything received high marks except the calamari which was cooked well but not seasoned. I had the Capesante e Funghi, a pasta with truffle oil, mushrooms and scallops. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the truffle oil flavor was strong, which I loved. I did however add a bit of salt, as did many at our table. It was very filling, and I took some back to my hotel. The lobster Mac and cheese was a huge portion and reportedly delicious. The steaks at our table were good size and everyone was happy with their selection. Wine selection for bottles doesn't include anything in a price range I'd typically pick, but what we had was good. Overall, an exceptional experience, but also a bit overpriced in my opinion.
