Strega - Review - East Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation

"The couple that owns Strega has some Nashville bona fides—one hails from Rosemary & Beauty Queen and the other from City Winery. And they both just wanted to create a place for the neighborhood to hang. That’s what led to Strega, a low-key retro bar in East Nashville with pool tables under a pergola, a rock playlist,  cocktails that lean Italian, and an Apertivo hour menu stocked with savory cannolis, cacio e pepe, and $1 slices of pizza." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Came here on their second night open and found a decent sized crowd here. The building wasn’t as I expected and had a unique design. There was a sectioned off “patio” with a few chairs and tables in the front, a door to the main area, a walkway down the side of the house to the backyard area, and outside stairs that led up to the second floor. I don’t think there are any indoor stairs - but there is another set of stairs going up the 2nd floor from the backyard area. The design inside was cool, but honestly I was hoping for more weird things - more animal statues, huge artwork and more funky wallpaper to give it a cooler vibe. The downstairs bar was a bit smaller than upstairs - but there was a “secret” hang out room with a bookcase door that was definitely the coolest part inside. The specialty cocktail menu featured a lot of gin, but I picked an espresso martini that was really good. I didn’t eat any food but it looked decent.

This was probably the best bar for chilling that we went to when we came into town for a bachelor party! Broadway is super packed and really hard to get a spot at peak hours. Painter's alley is better, but it can still be hard to get a seat or do something like play on the one pool table they have for the 100 people in the bar. Strega was perfect! We came in on a Thursday night, and there was a small crowd of people there. I would say maybe 20-30 people, which is really nice to hang out and chill. The crowd vibe was trendy and chill, and a good mixture of genders. We were able to get to the pool table, darts, etc, no problem. The drinks were the best we had all weekend!!!!! All the other touristy spots charged a lot and put real little alcohol and effort in, but that was NOT the case here at Strega. It was right next to our AirBNB so it was easy to walk to.

One of the best new bars Nashville has seen in a long time! The decor is gorgeous and so well thought out. Love the food options and the espresso martini is 👌🏼Everyone there is so sweet and the fact that you can bring your dog is the best part. Highly recommend!

Strega is the perfect spot for a late-night drink or happy hour! Their beer and shot specials can’t be beat, and the espresso martinis are absolutely delicious. The $3 slices (and $1 slices at happy hour!) are such a steal. The staff is incredibly attentive and sweet, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

Came here opening night and had a great time. Took my dogs here. The back patio had the tables spaced enough that it didn’t feel crowded or too close. They have shuffleboard which is a huge plus. There’s also pool, but pool is no shuffleboard. The cocktails are unique, as are the NA options. The Mad Madame is reminiscent of a whiskey and chartreuse cocktail. There was another one that contained strawberry. What I appreciated about that one - it wasn’t strawberry dominant. 4-7pm is $1 slice pizza. They make it in house and if I’m not mistaken, it has a delicious cornmeal crust. Looking forward to more visits.
