My wife has been raving about the Chardonnay for five years running. I like the charming atmosphere and helpful staff. Even on hot days, perhaps bring a sweater. (It's temperature controlled for the excellent wines.)

Strey cellars is a great place to experience! Great wine, people, and entertainment! You always feel like family! Katie and crew are so friendly and knowledgeable they help you feel welcomed and comfortable. They will guide you to find the perfect wine choice. Anything from Sparkling Brut to Pinot Noir, they are all outstanding!

I didn't taste their drinks I don't drink alchohol but the atmosphere and music was great and the pizza vendor was good too (Cali dough boi) I recommend you stop by when you looking for a good time and good munchies...

Google
Neat place, friendly, anyone welcomed, had a nice time. The Axxess Card brought us here. Thank you for the wine & the clean restroom. It had a real community feeling! The parking lot was full when we came & everyone was enjoying Pizza, wine and football (Go Packers)

Owner is great! Huge selection of fantastic wines and reasonably priced tastings. We loved all the wines in the flight. They also have a wine club - wish I lived closer!

Beautiful ambiance. Wonderful staff Katie & Scott are absolutely amazing, friendly, and welcoming. Gorgeous venue for weddings, friends gathering, or just a spot to have a glass of delicious wine with a friend or spouse. Highly recommend visiting here.

Yelp
Came here for a book club meeting. This was my first time ever visiting Strey Cellars. Their back area where the events/book club are held is so cute! They have patio lights making it such a cute environment. There is even a private tasting room. The restrooms are nice and clean. Staff is super awesome! I really enjoy my time here. They offer a variety of different wine options. I went with the Pinot grigio and it was very tasty. They have ample parking and it's a cute spot for some wine or a book club meeting.

Yelp
Mary went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed! She's wonderful. Where have I been ??? I'm an Oxnard local and had never visited. Here with my friend, Jess! We loved the service and the wines!!! Mary described each wine we tried to perfection! She genuinely enjoys her job and I loved her attention to detail! I have been to a couple of cellars where I haven't been treated the best and Mary is truly a breath of fresh air! Chill spot. Plenty of natural light. Cool seating options. Oh and I got to use my twism discount! Awesome! We can't wait to attend some classes and visit when they have live music! I just had a great time with my friend, Mary never left us unattended and I'm happy to support this place again! I left feeling happy! Mary is the best manager. She took the time to give us a tour of the entire cellar!!! She explained the different events they host and the ability to rent the space for private parties! This place is a 10/10

Yelp
Strey has been open approximately for 10 years. My husband and I ended up coming here for a wine tasting practically when they first opened. Katie, one of the owners had helped us with our tasting and was always so nice, professional, and made great tasting wines. We hadn't been back for over 5 years due to the pandemic and simply being into wine, not being into wine, and now back again. Recently, we ended up coming by Strey for a tasting. We met Scott, the other owner and Katie's husband, who greeted us and gave us a tasting of 5 excellent wines. Plus their wine tasting menu has expanded to include sparking wine (it's only called "champagne" if made in a region of Champagne, France), white and red wines as well as dessert wines. There are also several wines to look forward to come back for a tasting for, try a glass of, or buy a bottle of. My husband and I shared a tasting, and agreed that all the tastings were delicious, although I personally favored the red wines on the tasting list (the Pinot Noir and Petite Syrah blend). In general, I tend to prefer red wines, but the white wine were also delicious! Plus, the winery has several events like an ugly Christmas party, bands that come in throughout the month, glass painting, and several other events! Also, Scott let us try a teeny bit of their dessert wines - and we found ourselves having to buy a bottle of our favorite! Strey is an excellent place to try out different wines, converse, and relax. Thank you to the owners of Strey for making this a comfortable, pleasant, and delicious experience for me 10 years ago - and even now!

Yelp
Tasting Flight: $20/person for 5 pours (fee waived with two bottle purchase). Comfortable, dog friendly winery located in a business center. Good sized tasting room and very large barrel room, which is used for live music and other events. WINES: Strey Cellars produces sparkling, white, rosè, red, and dessert wines. Natalie poured for us, and allowed us to customize our tasting flight, based on our likes. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and paid just the right amount of attention, so we were able to chat with other customers in the tasting room without disruptions. We tasted a few more than five, and in the end, most of the white and red wines we tried were a little too crisp and/or lite bodied for our palates, however we always recommend you try for yourselves, as they may be exactly what you prefer. We did find a couple we liked and purchased a bottle of the Triple Z (Zinfandel) and a '20 Ruby Petite Syrah (Port style) to take home. Overall, a nice little winery to check out and enjoy an afternoon of tasting and meeting new wine friends.

Yelp
Put this winery on your must-do list when visiting Ventura. I highly recommend visiting during their Saturday night live music and food events. I had spoken with owner Katie 2 weeks prior to our visit and she was kind enough to give me her number to text if I needed to change the reservation or had questions. The night before, I was able to text her and change our afternoon wine tasting appointment to the Saturday night reservation for the live music and pizza event. It was soooo much fun! The place was lively, the crowd was fun and engaging! The music was a great cover band called Ignition that played a lot of 70's rock. We were sat at our reserved table with a group of 3 other ladies that were friendly and fun too. The dance area was filled at all times. And the food! Pizza Dough Bois were amazing! Wood fired pizza that was sooo good! I got the chorizo cilantro pizza and it was fire!! During the live music events, you can't do wine tasting unless you are in the tasting room. But they did give us a small taste before our glass purchases to see if we liked them. I had the Grenache Rose which was pretty good but then I got the Barbera Rose that was really delicious. The Barbera was a bit sweeter which I tend to enjoy more. Katie and Scott are wonderful hosts. Most fun I have had in a long time!

Yelp
I'm assuming that I have posted my review for this winery previously. But I cannot say enough and I would go here every day if I could not just for the wine but for the owners and the atmosphere. My best friend and myself surprise each other for our birthday every year, by finding a winery or an event that sounds interesting or new to us. Last November I found Strey, and much to my delight she had not been there before. I am not exaggerating, and I am not a heavy drinker a.k.a. wino. I as well as my friend enjoyed every single wine that we tasted. That has never happened to me before and in fact, quite the opposite, typically I only find maybe one that I like but to like all of the wines says a lot. Katie, is the wife or the husband and wife team that owns the winery. She is bursting with personality, very knowledgeable and just a fun person to be around. Husband Scott is the wine maker and seems like the quiet half of the couple. They make a great team. Going tomorrow with my friends for one of their many music events. Cannot wait and cannot recommend them enough.

Yelp
Never knew this gem existed. I went here for the first time to attend a wedding. It is amazing for a small venue. Wine was delicious, the atmosphere, the staff! It was a wonderful experience!! If you're thinking of having your wedding here, do it! Everyone will have a good time! Not to mention how beautiful your photos will turn out. If you're not having a wedding, go here! Taste wine and enjoy the atmosphere!

Yelp
Great place , service, atmosphere and amazing band last night for Strey Cellars Halloween party. The wine is delicious as always. Can't wait to return for another amazing experience.

Yelp
That was not what I was expecting... at all. This was first wine tasting and Strey set the bar high. I thought wine tasting is standing at a bar sniffing and swishing wine while only speaking with adjectives. Instead, we were escorted past the bar into a sparkling room of music and lights. Live music with Ignition had everyone up out of their seats dancing and signing! Mind blowing margherita pizza by Cali Boiz (?). Katie and Mary were super stars keeping everyone happy and things moving swimmingly. Strey's was wonderfully accommodating with seating and helpful tips. The whole evening felt like a family event rather than random strangers at a wine bar. I tip my hat to the Strey fans who let their hair down abed kicked up their heels. This was the memorable evening out, esp for my first time to the area. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Fun place. We went with friends to see the 805 Social Club band. My People! Loved the wine, especially the Slanted.

Yelp
This was an unexpected place to have a nice afternoon with a friend to enjoy a nice sampling of wines and live music. The staff was super friendly. I plan to go again.

Yelp
This is my second time here and both have been for the Disney Princess meet and greet activities on Sundays. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. The wine selection is large and served at good temperatures. The venue is easy to find and clean, music in the background. I think they should have some snacks available and we can really spend more time here.

cheryl m.

Yelp
Love the wine, the vibe, and the people. The staff there is so friendly and upbeat. We love going up to taste wine, listen to the music, and just hang with the folks there. It is always an awesome afternoon. Plus, I love that they are kid and pup friendly. My furbaby is especially pleased by ALL the attention she gets there.

Yelp
What a pleasure to know Scott and Kate, the owners of Strey Cellars. Of "All" the wineries we have been to or have been members of, they are numero uno. Hands down excellent wine and service. No wine snobs here and everyone seems very friendly. There's rotating live bands and food trucks on the weekends and plenty of room to dance. The atmosphere is great and the barrel room has plenty of seating. The first time we visited we liked every wine we sampled. Mary and Justine behind the counter are wonderful people and are very attentive, knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk with. Scott is the winemaker and will answer any question you might have. Then there's Kate......WOW......what a genuine person she is. They make a great couple. So you might like to know a little bit about the wine right? Everyone's taste is different but the SLANTED 3.0 is excellent and the 4.0 we tasted a week ago from the barrel, is even better. We preordered 4 bottles. One of the best wines we have ever tasted is their Pion Noir. It's $65 for nonmembers but worth every penny. We like the Santa Lucia Highlands region. Aged in 80% New French oak for 12 months. We serve that for special gatherings of family. The Slanted is around $38. We didn't join after our first visit as we already belonged to 3 clubs. After 1 closed in Ojai, we made Strey our third. One of our others in Oxnard recently closed so we are down to 2 wine clubs. With that said, Strey Cellars is our go to winery. It's just off the 101 freeway with ample parking. We don't think it can be beat! Give Strey Cellars a try and I think you'll agree and become a member. Dean G.

Yelp
Love this wine bar! The owners, Katie and Scott, are wonderful! Scott is the wine maker, and such a master of the his craft. We have been to many wineries and wine bars, and have found that the wines at Strey Cellars are among our favorites.

Yelp
The wines keep getting better and Natalie has joined the family. It's still our favorite place to while away a Sunday afternoon. We do miss Tawny who stays home usually.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, this is a really long overdue review. My husband I attended a wedding/reception here. The idea of it being hosted here was pretty hip in my opinion. The placed was elegantly decorated and the service provided by the staff was fantastic. The bride and room placed a caricature artist on the wall facing the bar. The service at the bar was always prompt and all staff members worked with a smile and friendly presence. The bride and groom had the appetizers catered and placed in the room before the wine barrel warehouse area and it was nicely set up. The wine barrel room was beautifully decorated with lights. It gave an outdoor wedding feel but the comfort of being indoors. Dinner was provided by an In N out truck which was also very cool and modern. They opened the delivery entrance area and guests were able to walk out in front to get drinks and burgers. Staff members were prompt at clearing any wine glasses, trash and leftover food from the tables. We really enjoyed this experience and would recommend to host any event here. They were awesome! *please check with them for pricing since all the info I wrote about was from a Guest POV!

Yelp
Fun time with great wine, great music and a marvelous food truck! We don't live in the area unfortunately, but hope to return soon.

Yelp
First time at this cellar and it was great. Wonderful music, food, and wine. The atmosphere was good and people were very nice. Wine was excellent

Yelp
We held our wedding at Strey Cellars last weekend and I cannot say enough good things about the whole thing! Katie and her husband went above and beyond for us and honestly all of the staff at Strey were so awesome. Everyone had a wonderful time, it went smoothly and it was just so freaking gorgeous. Great wine, great atmosphere, great people. Thank you.

Jo Ann M.

Yelp
My son-in-law. planned a surprise birthday party for his wife (my daughter) and Strey Cellars. First - the owner, Katie is the BEST. She was super helpful in getting the date, helping with suggestions on decorations, wine for the evening and more. It was a tremendous success and we had such fun. There was a DJ, Karaoke, Photo Booth, food and lots and lots of fun. I highly recommend Strey Cellars for your event. Katie makes it so easy and the place is a great venue - not too fancy and not to shabby - just right.
google avatar

Jonas A.

Yelp
Wine tastes are subjective, but for our palates the wines here were SO off/weird that they bordered on defective. We've had many red wines that have had "notes of tobacco". These wines tasted like they had a tablespoon of liquid smoke added to them. We couldn't get that taste out of our mouths until we had some more wine elsewhere. The only explanation for the off flavor we could think of was that the vineyard experienced a fire or perhaps the grapes were burned at the vineyard. Whatever it is, it just isn't right. If you just turned 21 and haven't had any other wine you might like their wines, but if you're a thoughtful, experienced wine drinker you might want to go elsewhere. The tasting room lady was a delight and the facility is quite nice. I hope their future vintages turn out better.

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice afternoon at Strey Cellars this past Sunday, they hosted a fundraiser for CARL dog rescue. We really enjoyed ourselves , the selection of Pinot Noir wine is fantastic! The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere warm and cozy.

Yelp
We were looking to do some wine tasting in a Friday afternoon and came across Strey Cellars. What a fantastic find! My husband isn't crazy about wine but even he liked those we tasted. We ended up buying 2 bottles and had the opportunity to sample a few other wines before making our final purchasing decision. Not only was the wine great but the service was exceptional! Don't miss this place!

Yelp
I came here, with a few coworkers for wine tasting in December. There were really cute decorations for the holidays, most notably the awesome xmas tree they made by stringing tons of ornaments from the ceiling! There were also cute wine cozies decorated with lots of holiday bling. We were the only people in there on a Friday afternoon, so it was nice to sit around the table and enjoy our wine tastings for $10. We pretty much had the place to ourselves until the evening, when they were restricting the premises for a private event. The best part of the entire experience was the lovely doggy that came around and greeted us. She was so huge and cute and so very sweet and friendly!! She hung out with us the entire time and totally made the whole experience even more enjoyable. :) One of my coworkers bought a bottle of wine and we opened it up after our tastings, so with that bottle, the tastings, and also a previous tasting from another winery right before we got here... it was a jolly good afternoon indeed.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience...especially since it was their first weekend opened. We got word about this winery opening up from a good friend and decided to stop by. The shop is located right next to Magnavino wine shop so you can add it to your wine tour list when in the area. The wines were great. They are young wines that will only get better with age. We actually enjoyed them so much that we signed up for a membership right then and there. I loved the Syrah and Zinfandel that they had to taste and pretty much all of their cabs were amzaing. Everytime we go back, we are excited to try a new varietal. Friendly service and a cute wine shop which has purse hooks. always a plus in my book. There is also a chalkboard wall to leave notes by the bathrooms...and lets not forget Tawny girl, the perfect wine dog. She will play tug o war and fetch with you all day if that's your thing.

Julie B.

Yelp
We bought a growler during COVID and came back to refill it and they refused. Said it was against COVID regulations. How could that be???? We bought it during COVID. A long drive for nothing. Waste of time.... don't bother

Carolyn P.

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday here. I had in mind what I wanted and searched different venues, none of them would accommodate. I stopped by to meet with Katie and her response was "sure no problem, we'll take care of it." Everyone had such a great time. All night my guests kept telling me what an amazing venue this was. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. And can't forget the delicious wine. KATIE is awesome. She was so helpful, and I felt like she went out of her way to make this the best party ever. All I had to do was show up and enjoy the evening with my friends and family and dance the night away. Well, what can I say, it was Magical!

Yelp
Visited this winery just this past weekend with my boyfriend and our friends and we all had a great time and enjoyed some even better wine. This was our second stop and literally a 30 second walk from neighboring winery Magnavino Cellars. The tasting room is decent in size, and there was only two tables in which we were lucky to see one was open for our group of 5. The workers were super friendly and welcomed us as soon as we stepped inside. There was quite a bit of people for a Saturday afternoon, and all the workers were engaging with the customers at the counter. We had our try with their Wine Tasting selections which is only $10. They had a total of 6 to taste from, in which they always came over to our table to fill our glasses to sample. By the 6th sample, we had a very nice, mellow feeling and ending up buying bottle of the Cynder. Tip: if you buy a bottle, your wine tasting is free!! Our group had a good time. The place is super cute and a great place to have a meet with friends and catch up. Fun for couples, girls nights, and friend outing.

Yelp
My kids had so much fun in the painting class and there wine is fantastic! I will attend every every event

Yelp
If you're looking for a traditional wine tasting adventure, Oxnard and Camarillo are not that, but they do have hidden gem tasting rooms that have wines that will definitely surprise your pallet. Strey is definitely one of those must-stop tasting rooms. When you find their parking lot you are not going to be wowed by their presence in this seemingly industrial district, but just wait.... when you walk in you'll be greeted by one of the owners or one of the pourers and they are all so friendly and knowledgeable (and you may even be greeted by their adorable pup!!). Then you glance over their tasting list and realize, yep, you're in the right place for sure. All of their wines that I've tried have been excellent! Give them a try next time your in town or just passing thru. You won't be disappointed.

Justine L.

Yelp
A wine-tasting experience unlike any other. There's no winery that treats you like family immediately. The wine is phenomenal! the vibe is fantastic!
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
I want to start by saying that I typically don't write reviews but this place definitely deserved one! We needed a last minute venue to host a surprise birthday party for my partner. I spoke with Katie, who was absolutely amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the fact that it was kid friendly so that all of our guests could attend. There was a live band, which was perfect for all of us to get up and shake our booties. The wine was so good and we purchased plenty to take home! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have wine tasting day with some friends or plan a party for a loved one
google avatar

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Nice lazy rainy day, let's go wine tasting!!! The access card brought us here, it has a nice Community feeling. Friendly service, good wine and clean restrooms thank you!
google avatar

Carmen C.

Yelp
This place was FUN! Big Packers fans. I only drink reds, so I really enjoyed their Cabernet. Great place to hang out drink wine and watch football!!

AnnMarie J.

Yelp
Edgy, fun, fantastic. This family run business is second to none. Every wine we tried was bright and made me feel like a perfect summer day. The cab was superb, and the graciano amazing. The lady helping us was not only generous with her time, but with her knowledge of the area and other wineries. This will be a must stop every time we stop. Not only was the wine amazing, but the customer service was outstanding!
google avatar

Chasin T.

Yelp
What an amazing winery! The wines are simply fantastic and well crafted. The service is top notch and I am always greeted when I come in with a smile and warm welcome. Coming here is like coming home, but with more wine. They have a good variety of wine and they have new releases frequently enough to keep me coming back. They have enough events too to keep me interested and entertained. Additionally, they have great facities for private parties of all sizes. I can't say enough about how much I love Strey and everything about the tasting room, the wine, and the people. Deviate Responsibly!
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Tasting at Strey on a Sunday is a little slice of heaven! Sooo hard to pick a favorite wine and the ambience here is lovely and so chill...

Amara H.

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would. My friend and I went there last weekend when a brewery that we wanted to go to didn't have any parking. It was the best decision we made! When we arrived we did not have reservations but were seated immediately. We each had a wine tasting flight, and let me tell you, these are some of the best wines I've EVER tasted and I have tried a ton of wine. I loved every single one! I decided to join the wine club and bought two bottles of their red blend, "slanted", and two bottles of their white blend, "inclined". Inclined is the best wine I think I've ever had. On top of fantastic wine, Natalie was our server and she was absolutely wonderful. My friend and I were sitting out in the sun and after about 15 minutes she could tell that my friend's skin was going to burn and asked if she needed sunscreen. Where do you get customer service like that?! I'm hoping to go back today with my partner - very excited to introduce him to this hidden gem!
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
In my opinion every wine tasted was bad to me. Brown, oxidized, couldn't get rid of the Port smell or flavor. That's a serious flaw, don't think it was just an "off" tasting. They shouldn't be serving bad wine. Secondary to that, we drove 30 min to get to their facebook posted Sat Foolball viewing event and it wasn't even happening. Our server was gracious about it and not her fault but that's very unprofessional. Should have comped the tasting but didn't even offer.
google avatar

Dustin B.

Yelp
This is a great place to drink some great wine. The owners are in this business for the right reasons, and you can tell they are passionate about what goes into each bottle. I love their Merlot and their Cab and they do some great blends. The space is great and so is the staff. I've been for two different tastings and I've learned more about wine each time from casual conversations with the winemaker, Scott. Most recently, we went for a birthday party and again, they did a great job. Can't say enough good things about this place and it's crew.
google avatar

Stacy C.

Yelp
Scott, Katie, and their adorable dog are awesome and the wine is delicious. My friends and I visited this place right after a pretty bad experience 2 doors down at Magnavino. The minute we walked in the door, Katie was there with some wine glasses and a huge smile. We also got treated to a barrel tasting of their upcoming "Slanted". When it comes out, I'm buying a million bottles. It was my favorite wine of the entire day. Scott and Katie treated us like friends from beginning to end and I wish them all the happiness and success in the world! We will definitely be back!

Lily T.

Yelp
10 stars! Ask for Justine! She welcomed our pup and us close to closing time and didn't make us feel like we had to leave anytime! She was wonderful while explaining their wines and took the time to even let our puppy walk around and explore! Family friendly, dog friendly, must go!
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful new winery! Great people and great wine. I suggest the syrah :-) Very smooth and drinkable... became a member upon the first taste! I definitely recommend it so stop by soon.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
Nice lady working here but the wine wasn't great. I liked the dog though! Noticed some fruit flies lingering around as well, which was a bit of a turnoff. Maybe it's just me, but the lighting seemed a little bright too. I recommend they work on the ambiance and play some music maybe? Cool little parking lot for winery hopping, we liked the place next door a little better but there's definitely some potential here if they polish it up around the edges.
google avatar

Dawn T.

Yelp
Love them, so friendly and so accommodating and if you love to try wine. This is a good place to go. I've been a member for just past a year and I'm glad we are. Come by and visit.

Yelp
If you are looking for some great wines, or a fun, friendly, easygoing place to taste wine, or an event facility, check out Strey cellars. The owners Katie and Scott and their wine girl Justine, are the most genuine, fun, personable, and welcoming business owners. The place is comfy and casual and kid and dog friendly. You will often be greeted by their playful mascot dog, Tawny. They make sure that all of their clients are well tended to and if football is your thing, you'll be guaranteed to have a Giant Wall Screen view of the Packers, hopefully with a winning score. I'm not a wine chemist, so I can't speak professionally about that aspect of the wine on that level, but I know Scott takes pride in his wine profession and they are often doing important looking winemaking activities that you can watch through the view window from the tasting room. Besides enjoying spending some rare free time here tasting their new products, Scott and Katie hosted our wedding reception. It could not have been more perfect. From the moment we signed up, these guys were rolling with the prep plans. They were super tolerant of our frequent visits to get the layouts for the venue as well as the organizational process of the catering team and the other vendors. They even promoted communication with the vendors to assure everyone was on board. They TEXT!!!! And the response rate was almost instantaneous. Respect :-) Katie and Scott participated in the reception all day. Between pouring, cleaning up, checking in on people, tolerating people (Haha), sharing in the fun and even taking a time out to squeeze in a fun selfie in the photo booth. People actually commented on how they were impressed with the whole set up as well as the exceptional service. Reviews are important these days as a way to measure, gauge and learn about the businesses services. As a business owner myself, I promote exception service as well as seek it out. If I could offer 6 stars I would. But 5 stars it is.
