"If you text your friend from Chicago asking about Strings Ramen, they’ll probably sigh and share a fond memory of eating spicy ramen during the dead of winter back in 2015. This chain’s East Village location opened up just a few weeks before restaurants had to close down, and they’re back open for takeout and delivery online. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

If one has a craving for spicy ramen this is the place to go. I just ordered the mildest but my mouth is tingling (but in a good way). It may also be a good idea to get an appetizer if you arrive really hungry. The Chicken Kasaraage was nicely fried and came with a mildly spicy sauce.

Food: 5 Value: 4.5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: 5 Avg: 4.9 Notes: Yellow, our waitress, was a joy. She was friendly, attentive, and brightened the atmosphere. I enjoyed every aspect of the tonkotsu ramen. The cat rice was deliciously seasoned. More people should visit this hidden gem!

Ate here for the first time yesterday - the restaurant was beautifully decorated and the food was superb. We ordered the shio ramen with turkey, premium Tonkotsu ramen and miso ramen with seafood and kuro buta as well as a side order of duck (best duck I've ever tried), chicken karaage and shishito peppers. All the different broths were super rich and delicious.

Really good ramen, vegetarian options are legit in quantity and quality. The Hell spice is amazing if you like the heat. Extra star for service and supporting contactless payments - no futzing with cards or cash, just a qr code and you're done.

As a ramen fan I was delighted to see a new addition to the neighborhood. Went to challenge the hell ramen level 5, which, according to the menu, is a shoyu broth base topped with a variety of peppers. I had a bad feeling when I saw this bowl as it doesn't look like broth of any kind but dry noodle with extra chille oil. It's spicy but tolerable for me as I didn't need to drink water. The disappoinment is that the ramen is bland. There's no or limited broth but oil as shown in the picture. It certainly doesn't worth the price, $25. The interior was nice and the service was friendly. They offered a nice Japanese canned milk tea and green tea mochi ice cream after I shared my opinion about the food. I would've given two star if this was not a new place. Considering I've only tried one dish I give this place the benefit of doubt. Yet I am not motivated to go back.

This is the BEST vegetarian ramen I’ve had in my life. The Hell Ramen level 1 - absolutely so delicious I could cry. The staff are also some of the nicest in New York City. Definitely try this place. Absolutely amazing!!

Waitress let me sit wherever I wanted even though it was a bit far from her station. She was so sweet and anticipated my party's needs (ie. refilled drinks when low). The food was great and a decent price point. Definitely would go back because of her!

Solid ramen! After waiting too long for Momofuku we decided to head down the block to eat here, honestly exceeded every expectation I had. Solid Tonkatsu, good value for amount of ramen you get, and the music choice and atmosphere is great. Super cozy spot for a cold day
