The 10 Best Hot Dogs in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"This giant dive, known chiefly for its rustic charm and a regular crowd of bikers, is off the beaten path. It serves vintage dog recipes such as Ricky’s Hot Link, Rat’s Good Ol’ Grilled Hot Dog, or Blyss’s Grilled Chili Cheese Dog. This spot keeps it simple with relish packets, a side of fresh onions, and rows of picnic tables." - Courtney E. Smith

Google
One of the most colorful haunts we have visited in Dallas. Close to Dallas Love airport. An eclectic & cool vibe 😎 with an expansive seating area [inside & out]. The burgers 🍔 were some of the best! The rich history with Rick Fairless, his family & Southwest Airlines adds to the charm! We had the pleasure of talking at length with Rick. He was both welcoming & engaging. We will definitely return when we get back to Dallas!

Google
Very cool place. Lots of fun. Great burgers. Even if you don't own a Harley (full disclosure, I don't own a bike at all) please don't be intimidated by the label "Biker Bar". Strokers is a very laid-back place. Everyone is friendly and chill and just trying to have a good time. If you go there, I promise you'll have a good time, too.

Mike Weinstein

Google
Close to Dallas Love airport. I will always stop here if I have some time before flight. Cool history with owner.

Sarah Hernandez

Google
Awesome environment and one stop shop for all things needed to vest and patches and bike washes and food!

Google
It's been many years since I've been to Strokers, but after joining a few old friends there last night, and having had a fine evening, I thought this review was in order. The atmosphere was delightful, the service was outstanding, the burgers were delicious at a great price, and the pool was free (on Monday nights only, but still). We just couldn't have asked for anything more!

David King

Google
Excellent place for food and drink. Quite the colorful and lively biker crowd. I’ve even seen free-range kids selling Girl Scout cookies! One of a kind place that I’m always returning to. A Dallas institution. The food is great. My only gripe is that I wish they had a few more healthy food choices….but hey, it’s a biker place!

Always a good time. Never know who and what you’ll see plus Rick‘s always a pleasure to speak to if you’re an Aggie introduce yourself his brother went to A&M.

Google
Great place to go for a burger, have a cold beer on a hot day, listen to live music, and gawk at the eclectic collection of things and murals from yesteryear. It has the best family atmosphere for a really cool bikers bar.

Yelp
I had been wanting to visit this location since the mid 90's when it originally open as "Easyriders Dallas". We were traveling back from The Gulf of America and decided to stop in to see some awesome custom bikes and have a beer with a burger. We had a nice bartender that served us well. The whole atmosphere of the place was so much more than I expected. I will definitely stop in again when traveling through Dallas.

Yelp
Beer, Bikes & Food available here at Strokers. Great and fun location to grab a cold beer Only have draft on house beer. All others are bottles or cans. Parking is smaller for bigger trucks, we parked in the parking lot next to the location. Open late like 2am late.

Yelp
Only thing missing was the people. Insanely good band. Great vibes. Cold beer. Great outdoor environment. Coming back next week with a crew.

Yelp
This place is great for lunch. They've always got a good special, friendly bartenders and staff, lots of cool stuff to look at. Decent pool tables. Fun, friendly crowd. Primarily American iron but if you show up on the rice burner nobody's going to throw shade. I ride my Suzuki crotch rocket up there all the time and I've never felt any hate. Just a bunch of cool laid-back people and good food. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Typical biker bar, large outdoor area. Very friendly barkeep. If you ride Steele horses or not this is definitely a place to stop near Dallas love airport.

Yelp
Great bar, food, and atmosphere! Strokers is a go to spot when I'm out on the Harley or wanting to grab a drink and some grub with some friends after work. Bartenders are always polite and the service is on point every time I visit. Their burgers are good sized, made fresh to order, and have multiple options to spice up the flavors! Highly recommend checking out this Dallas staple! Bike days on the weekend are a blast! Live music, vendors, and a whole mess of different folks from different strokes! Cheers!

Yelp
What an amazing find! Every time I am back in Dallas, this charming, eclectic dive bar with THE coolest bike shop/museum next door will be on our list! The bartenders were so fun and polite. Very quick and responsive. Loved the locals there. Fun playing pool and looking at all the interesting memorabilia on the walls and otherwise. Can't wait to go back!

Anthony B.

Yelp
Cool biker bar with live music and where else can you get a fried balogne sandwich? Make sure to check out the bike shop next door. Worth the 15 minutes to check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
Great selection of bar food, better than adequate drink selection, friendly people, amazing decor & atmosphere. Bring your best biker babe in here for a great time!

Yelp
Went here on a whim and will definitely be returning. Elle made us feel like we weren't total idiots for showing up 10 minutes before closing. If you're looking for a fun place to get a drank (or 10) in this area with live music and great food definitely swang on by!

Yelp
Had dinner at Strokers. Strokers Burger with cheese was very good, lots of flavor. We had wings, which were very crispy on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside. They came with a hot sauce and ranch to dip each wing. The bar tender was very nice. We ordered at the bar and she brought out food out to us. We got to try Strongbow Hard Apple Cider and Vanilla Crown Royal. Liked both.

Yelp
WARNING: If you are "scared" of motorcycle clubs, do not come here. BUT, if you want an awesome grilled bologna sandwich, you should totally come here. I had a couple nights in the DFW area while checking out the Texas State Fair, and found this spot on Yelp. It looked like a fun place to have dinner on a Saturday night, so I caught my Lyft and went on over. It's a pretty easy place to find, so you should have no problem getting there. And there's plenty of parking for cars out front. But if you're bringing a chopper, then head on to the back and join the rest of the MANY bikes lined up and show off yours! For dinner, I had the highly recommended Grilled Bologna Sandwich with Cheese and a couple Miller Lites. The price for everything was pretty cheap: less than $20. That sandwich was SO good and nostalgic! It had some THICK cut of bologna, so you should be pretty full after having one. My kudos to the cook in the back for making something so simple yet satisfying to my soul. This must be THE meeting spot for the MCs in North Texas because there were so many people here! Most were outside hanging out, but you had a few inside listening to music and playing pool on one of their several tables. But I decided to take my beer outside after my sandwich and just look at all the bikes. It really made me wish I'd hurry up and get my license so I can buy one and begin cruising. And one more kudos to the bartender, Denise, for making me feel so comfortable there, even though I probably looked like a fish out of water. :-)

Yelp
I love this place on the weekends! Over the years Stroker's has become one of the places that you have to visit when you are in Dallas Texas. It's going to Graceland when you are in Memphis. Besides being a really fun bar and grill with great food, Stroker's patios and court yard areas are full of custom motorcycles and hot rods that you and your friend can admire while having a beer and listening to some good old rock and roll. This defiantly a place you will return to.

Pam H.

Yelp
Just had lunch there, coming back for Sunday festivities. Awesome place with lots of cool atmosphere. For all you big babies out there..bikers aren't gonna getcha!

Yelp
We were just passing through and searched reviews for a good burger place. Strokers did not let us down!! The bartender was super and the burgers were great!!

Yelp
True rock bar. Can't find these too many places these days. Chicken wings are amazing Service is great as always. I always feel like I'm back in the 80s.

Yelp
Love Strokers! We have been going here for years and love riding our bikes in for all to see. That's what you do there. You people and bike watch and that's what it's about well other than drinking and eating. One day my husband and I stopped in and they were taping Ma's Roadhouse a few years back and they asked us to be on the show. It was the episode where Ma was in a cooking contest between a Japanese Knife chef and Ma making a hamburger. It was fun, we were stars for a day... It's a destination where you can be you and feel bad ass for a few minutes. Even if you do not ride in they have lots of parking for cars so go and people watch for a bit. Also great place to take folks when they come in town to visit, but leave the kids at home. It's not a place for them. See you soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Sandra is THE BEST COOK HANDS DOWN!!! CJ came thru with the drinks, I love the atmosphere and the customer service. I'm from out of state but every time I come to Dallas, I will be put stopping here......... ALWAYS!!!

Scott J.

Yelp
Great fun menu and food. No microwave crap. Lots to see and enjoy. Bands, events and more to keep entertained

Yelp
Uh oh, mama forgot her leather chaps! No worries, they will still serve you at Strokers, a rather odd bike shop/tattoo parlor/burger place on Harry Hines. It's two seconds from my place of work, but for some reason it took me ten months to get here. It's a nice change of atmosphere (especially if you work a corporate job.) I felt a little out of place in my sundress and sweater set, but Strokers did not judge me. What's good here? Burgers. Duh. But you know what's effed up? NO DEEP FRYER. That means no fries. You get stinkin' potato chips. But that means you can get bacon and cheese on your burger and not feel guilty. And the buns were grilled, which is a detail I always appreciate. Other bonuses: the booty art on the wall. If you love tacky bike posters with Double D's and cut-off denim shorts, you will be in heaven. Even the women's restroom has some Double D delight. I don't know what it's like at night...I'm a little scared, and a little intrigued. There's a "mustache ride" joke in here somewhere, but I refuse to lower myself to that kind of lowbrow humor. (Get it? LOWER MYSELF? Haha!) Grilled buns.

Yelp
If you're looking for a place to have lunch with a group larger than 3, probably best to go elsewhere. Not because they don't have the seating space - they have that in spades - but the kitchen is tiny and it takes a long time to get food out. By tiny I mean smaller than a 10x10 room staffed with one cook who is trying her best, but with such a tiny space and a huge pile of orders you can only do so much to get things out in a hurry. That said, the food was fine. On the level of bar food for a bar with no real kitchen. My sandwich was tasty enough, but maybe a bit on the expensive side for what it was. If you want beer in bottles/cans or liquor, and to lounge in the sun on picnic tables, then Strokers will probably do you good.

April S.

Yelp
I work nearby and decided to stop by Stroker's for lunch one day. Was a bit worried about being out of place, but everyone was so friendly! The bartender (Theresa) made me feel welcome and asked about my day. Made me valued, and definitely insured that I would come back. I had a fried bologna sandwich, fries and a beer, and it was definitely worth the trip out of the office. Relatively cheap, too. Now I'm super curious to see how the late night crowd is, but I think I'll stick to lunch for a while and get to know some of the people who work there a little better before I get too adventurous.
google avatar

Tucker C.

Yelp
My friends and I go here frequently and it's great! From the front it looks like a shady biker gang bar, but once you go in, you see a cool bar environment with a lot of history in there. But that's only a small part of the place. Go out the back doors to find a huge open area with tables, and outdoor bar, more cool old school decor, and a live music stage. They do events and have live music for holidays like St Patrick's day and it's always a great time. The food is very greasy, but still generally tasty, and good drinking food. I love the jalapeño poppers, and mozzarella sticks. The bartenders are great, they are always fun, and on top of things.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Two stars because a group of 9 ordered at 12 noon and at 1:15 burger 9 is finally at the table. The burger was good. But for a lunch time bite to eat... I would pass. Do come eat when you have time to drink and wait for food. Hopefully I can bump this review higher on next visit. But we dont have 1 plus lunches
google avatar

Venus C.

Yelp
I recently visited Strokers for lunch. While my burger and fries were very good, the wait was entirely too long. Everyone in our group of 9 experienced a lengthy wait time in getting their food. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes. Again, very tasty burger but not an hour and fifteen minutes good. This would totally be a good spot to eat and drink with friends after work.

Yelp
Strokers is a great Biker joint! Friendly people, terrific live music, cold beer, and dive bar food. Gorgeous bartenders. Tons of Harley's everywhere you look. The performance stage is out back. Who could ask for more? A tattoo, perhaps? Yeah, they got that, too. Right next to the stage is a small tattoo studio. As I say, it's all about the experience, and Strokers is terrific!

Paul R.

Yelp
Awesome burgers, atmosphere and laid back bikers. Great place to have a few cold beers and look at bikes.
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
This is THE quintessential biker bar, without having to worry about whether you rode or not. Being from Florida, our bike is obviously at home. There are no bad looks or issues if you get out of four doors or off two. We got there just before 7:00 (which is when the actual Strokers closes) and have enough time to check out the Victories and custom choppers, and buy a couple tee shirts. We then headed to the Icehouse and got a couple drinks and ordered food. The hubs had a burger, I had the Janis Joplin Club and we split some wings. The wings are, hands down, some of the best ever! Full of flavor and crispy. Fries are fresh cut and seasoned to where you don't need ketchup. The bikes are great, beers cold, and you can even get a tattoo on-site! We will definitely be back!

Lucky G.

Yelp
Would recommend to anyone that's into the bikes pretty melo vibe drinks some beers down have a good time
google avatar

Dave Z.

Yelp
Great place to get a burger and a beer! Staff was friendly and the food was AWESOME!
google avatar

Richard R.

Yelp
don't be intimidated that it is thought as a biker bar. Everyone welcome without a doubt.. You need to try this plAce sometime. You too, will enjoy yourself! I guarantee it. And you can browse thru the various other shops at this laid back leftover from a memorable period in time.
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
Real deal Biker bar. Went there for lunch but would never go any other time of the day. Great prices especially with BOGO burgers; not very tasty....very average. We got there first but still had a fairly long wait. Fed a whole Team for $75 though!
google avatar

Sean P.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The food is really good and the bartender/waitress is really nice. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
This place was interesting! I liked that there was outdoor seating. It was very casual since it was picnic tables. Atmosphere was different than what I'm used to. You might feel a little uncomfortable if you're not a biker. We felt a little out of place. I didn't like how loud it was when we were trying to eat outside and people were leaving on their loud bikes. Bikers could ride their bikes and park them right into the back where people are eating. The food was not as good as I had expected for being a 4 star rating. I got the West way burger. It was basically a cheeseburger on Texas toast with thousand island. It was wayyy too much dressing on the burger. The fries were also very bland. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the popcorn was a 5! It was hot and fresh, unlike most stale bar popcorns. Service was also not great. The lady bartender did NOT want to be there. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for a place that had 4 stars!
google avatar

Tonya W.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place. They always take care of their customers! We came here today to celebrate my Dad's birthday.....and he passed away 2 years ago but Strokers always remembers him. Thank you guys for helping us celebrate him.... we you! Strokers will always be important to us. We love you! XO! Thank you so much for being great to us!!

Lee F.

Yelp
Short and sweet: - Teresa, the bartender/server is great. Food sucked. The place is cool and I enjoyed being there, right up until a sucky band came in (at 1PM) and asked me to move so that they could do some sort of podcast. It wouldn't of been so bad if they didn't suck so bad.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
We went there mostly to check out the live music scene. We loved the hippie decorations and '60s atmosphere - the Bears felt right at home. A little tattoo parlor is next to the stage, so you can get inked while you listen. You can ride your Harley right up to the picnic tables in back and park. Lots and lots of room in the outside patio. The burgers are legendary, and the beer is ice-cold. Not much in the way of taps, though; most brews are in the bottle. Mrs. Bear liked the sandy shuffleboard game inside the bar. If you get there while the sun is still up, check out the bike shop next door. One of the best I've ever seen. Mrs. Bear loved the biker boutique with the leathers and tie-dyed shirts. So even if you're not a biker, this is a really cool place to get a burger and a cold one, and listen to local live music on weekends.
google avatar

Traci B.

Yelp
Went here last night. The place looked small from the outside and with the "biker" theme I was a little nervous. I LOVE the funky art work, quirky statues, and awesome artwork carved tables. When we walked in the place was clean, full of very nice looking people, and smoke free! I am liking this place! We got drinks and they were fabulous! The band rocked and I have to say i had the BEST TIME!!! I really like this place!
google avatar

Kristi B.

Yelp
Yeah, so....I found myself in a biker bar on Halloween. To understand the irony, you'll need to know that one of my favorite clothing stores is Ann Taylor. So, that explains a lot. We met some friends here before heading to a party. My bf was trying to tell me before we left the house that I might consider a different outfit (what, I can't wear pearl necklaces and a cute sweater?). We pulled into the parking lot and I immediately said, "there is no way I can go in there dressed like this". He laughs... So I took off the sweater and went with the pearls and lacy camisole look and I'll tell you, while I felt slightly intimidated walking in, I was fine. We went outside and met our friends, I drank some beer, listened to a cool rockabilly band, people watched, and all in all had a good time. I think it's one of those "all are welcome" places where anything goes. Fine with me!
google avatar

Denise B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, ice cold beer, excellent food and a great staff! One of a kind place. Huge patio with lots to look at. Good people watching.
google avatar

Roxanne K.

Yelp
Oh yeah... burgers, bike and bitches... pool tables and beer. This place is next to a fine Harley shop and smells like heaven as you pull in the parking lot. The burger was ok, but those fries were like crack. Plenty of booze to choose from and a half nekked bartender in the middle of the day. I popped in for lunch and liked all the sexual harassment on the walls. This place would have to be a people watching madhouse at night and on the weekends for sure! It's fine pub grub, but the carved tables and benches (all unique), outside patio area and just to f'n cool atmosphere are a must!
google avatar

Yelp
Strokers Ice House is the definition of a bikers bar; dark, somewhat rundown, people doing some heavy drinking at lunch time. What else could you ask for, right? Well how about some great food! I got the Dagwood, but I have to say Ma's grilled bologna looked pretty tempting (I'll give it a try next time). The Dagwood was great!! It's was huge; three slices of grilled Texas toast topped off with bacon, ham, turkey, lettuce, tomato, mustard, and mayo. If I hadn't of decided to pig out it definitely could have been a two meal sandwich. All baskets come with some potato salad, pickles, and a bag of chips. The food is pretty inexpensive, with the exception of the Dagwood ($10, of course I got the most expensive item, damn!), and fall under the $10 mark. Since I went for lunch during my work day I am unable to comment on beer/liquor prices at this time but check back for an update later. I can't tell you how many times I have driven by here in my daily work routine, I was talking to a manager at the office and he said I had to try it. So today was the day that I decided to hell with it let's go. I've got to admit that I was a little apprehensive because all I've heard is that Strokers is a SERIOUS biker bar only. Well that is not the case, I saw everyone in there from bikers to CEO's. Give it a try and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
