Hands down some of the best Cajun food I’ve ever had, out of a food truck of all places. The catfish po boy was excellent, fish was crispy and seasoned perfectly. The bread was great too. The battered fries were crispy and delicious. THE GUMBO. Such a rich and developed flavor. My life is better now that I know this place exists. The cooks in there are putting their heart, soul, and foot in this food. I will definitely be back soon.

The best Cajun food in Austin and maybe Texas. My boyfriend is from Louisiana and this was on par with food we have had in New Orleans and Lafayette. We tried a handful of items and all of it was so delicious.

This place is amazing! Hands down the best gumbo I’ve ever had. The gumbo is my wedding night dinner and I’m so glad I found it :) you can honestly taste every flavor profile in the gumbo base. It has the perfect amount of file. And- the sausage isn’t over cooked nor the chicken!! This level of gumbo you would expect to be $20 outside of NOLA but it’s $7 and well worth the try!!

Pulled up to Strut & Dorothy at Armadillo Den and wow… this spot delivers ! We went all out with the gator bites (so crispy and tender), smoked lemon pepper wings, smoked garlic parm wings, and the smoked boudin. Every single bite was packed with that bold, smoky flavor. Will be back for sure!

Being from Louisiana, I wanted to see if this place lived up to all of the reviews I had been seeing. Let me tell you...IT FAR EXCEEDS THEM!! OMG!! The hype you see about their gumbo is 1000% accurate!! I can't count the many bowls of gumbo I have had in my life, including my beloved grandmothers, and this is hands down the best I have ever had! THE BEST!! I was completely blown away! Now that I have had it, I am a believer! I understand now why their gumbo won BEST IN THE WORLD! Who would have thought! The authenticity and flavor of not just the gumbo, but the po' boys (I had the shrimp and my husband had the catfish), the smoked boudin, and the BBQ shrimp are above and beyond any Cajun food you can get in Austin and takes you straight to NOLA! Trust me!! These are the items we had during this visit, but we will for sure be back to try more! I wanted everything!! I understand now why their gumbo won BEST IN THE WORLD! Not Austin, WORLD! I can't say enough good things about this place. You need to try for yourself. The owner Chad is amazing! He is the poster for southern hospitality and his food shines through! You can taste the love he puts in his food and I hope that you will have a chance to try it for yourself! The atmosphere is super chill and the venue also has live music. If you are looking for your new Cajun go to then you won't be disappointed by this spot. I know it is now mine!! Best in Austin I have had and I have tried them all!

If you’re looking for a place that makes your mouth water then Strut and Dorothy is the place for you. From their smoked wings to their award winning gumbo and everything in between. Their menu is packed with food that is packed with flavor. 10/10

Being from the Great State of Louisiana, I hold gumbo somewhere between Jesus and mama. This is hands down, aside from moms, that I have ever had. The smoked boudin is on point. If you are in the fence, hop down and have some great food.

The hype is real. FLAVORFUL dishes, I tried a couple. Shout out to John, great dude. Did not know it was inside a greater venue, with live music, it was an even greater surprise to have drinks while munching. Great spot to grab great food and great drinks. Everyone seemed to be cool tbh. Definitely will come back.

*LOVE* this li'l food truck, at the Armadillo Den! Went with the 'gator po' boy, 'cause I wanted to go all-out, on first try, after seein' what they had, on-menu. Also, Ray and Kaylie, with their warmth, were convincing enough. Decided, I'd try the cajun truffle fries, as well. See all of the above. Pardon, ain't got pics o' the food, 'cause it was gone, by the time I thought t'take any. Slàinte!

Born and raised in New Orleans and have yet to find a good poboy OR good gumbo anywhere in central Texas until this food truck showed up. Not even sure if they're from Louisiana, but they definitely cook like they are. The people working are awesome too.

Gumbo for the win onion rings were super seasoned, might ask for less next time Will be back!

Been here a few times and it's amazing. The food is unbelievable, the people are attentive and nice, and the venue it's at it's awesome. Has live music, lots of seating, and a bar.

The BEST GUMBO I've ever had!! Located at one of my favorite bars in Austin. Awesome staff and great food. Love the Carolina gold wings and pickles fries too. 11/10

These smoked wings are the bomb. Cajun truffle fries were awesome too. I won't be the least bit surprised if these wings end up on some "best in Austin" list in the near future, great flavor, great size! The folks working here are super friendly as well, see yall again soon!

A catfish po-boy and fries is $24.50!!!! After tip it was nearly $30.00 for a catfish sandwich and fries. The fries were tasty, the catfish was very salty. Sorry to say this is the bad side of what Austin has gotten to be known for. Ridiculous pricing for basic food.
