Studio 550 Arts Center

We had a great experience here! We called, and they told us how to schedule online, but it wasn't working, so they told us to just come on in. We picked out our things and got to work. 2 pottery pai tears and I mosaic creator. I finished painting ting my bowl, but my daughters didn't finish, so we went back the next day and finished up. We are on a cross-country road trip, so they are going to mail our pieces to us when they are done being fired. It was a great way to spend time with the kids!

I took the 10 week stained glass class with Theresa and loved it! After talking and providing inspiration pictures, she was able to create a template/design. I went in with 0 knowledge about stained glass. I left the class with a great appreciation and understanding of how much work goes into the pieces I see. Theresa was able to help guide me through the process and was quick to explain and answer all of my questions. Her husband was also very kind to take my art out of the oven after she added details 😄 100% recommend!

My wife and I did a one day stained glass class. The description said a 2 hour class but it was closer to 3 hours. That was OK with us. Theresa was excellent and helped all six in the class create beautiful suncatchers. She explained how everything worked along the way and she was very helpful and encouraging. It was a beginner class so options were limited but it was interesting and fun to do.

My friends and I took a pottery class this weekend. It was so much fun! All the staff was so friendly. The art center has so much to offer. I will definitely be back to try something else.

Monica is so patient and is a great teacher. The studio is filled with wonderful members who are so friendly and helpful to newer artists. I highly recommend a class, party or event. She recently went to my son’s school for a group class and everyone had a wonderful time!

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Teachers are very helpful and overall really great experience.

My daughter and I took the stained glass class. Excellent instructor who gave specific, thorough instructions and demonstrated patiently how to complete the project. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Loved the atmosphere, staff was awesome. It was quiet and easy to create in, and I love the additional offerings they had that I'll definitely be back for! And I love what we created!

My granddaughter did a summer camp pottery class for a week and loved it! The camp was for a week and came home everyday excited about what she learned and more importantly what she made with her own hands.

Friendly instructors, good for large groups, couples or solo. Street parking can be tricky but it's well located. Would definitely recommend.

We reserved for one day date workshop on pottery, place was cool but there was only one instructor present for 8students and we had to wait for so long for the instructor to come to us and help! Not so worth! We liked the activity but not in this place for sure! She just gave us a 15mins brief and got stuck to only 1-2students for long time! We didn't like the instructed attitude !

What a wonderful place!!! My daughter and I did a class before Covid hit. I just got her pieces. What an amazing surprise. I am so happy they saved them for her. Thank you Monica and staff!!! You are amazing Jp

I absolutely love this place! Found out about it though a Date Night poster on my way out of Market Basket. I love the positive & nurturing atmosphere & small hands on classes. All the classes are super affordable & the teachers & artists are wonderful as well. It's a great place to grow as an artist or test the waters.

This place is amazing! I first took a date night with my best friend (doesn't have to be an actual date) , and got very interested in pottery. The teacher Emma was very helpful and engaging during the class and ever since I needed more pottery in my life!! I decided to take a 10 week class and I am so glad I did. There is lots of space in the studio if you are a person that likes some quiet time while you work or just want some time to yourself to put on some music and focus. Although if you feel like chatting there is usually always another person working! Win win! Great Community! Great place! Great owners.

This place was really cool. I never knew existed till I saw a living social deal for it. I had tried the pottery workshop with my husband and it was really fun. The teacher was really cool and fun. You can make as many things as you want but can only take how 2. You first make something with hand clay then you get to use the pottery wheel. It's something fun and different to do around town. They also have tea here and a bunch of different type of art classes and even some dance ones. I would like to come back and try the leather class. Would recommend to try it!

First off i will state it was cool and fun to create and mold our pottery here but that was it. I am posting thiss because today marks the 4th week and my stuff still isn't ready. I called and the woman says yea its done it has been done for 2 weeks. I ask why was i not contacted. She then says oh you were we sent out an email you must not have seen it. It is probably in your junk mail ypu can come pick it up. Then 2 min later calls my wife to tell her that no it is not finished yet and will not be ready till next week. And that she basically lied to me and tried to make me look like a idiot. Needless to say i will not be returning to this place and do not recommend you to eather. Edit..... Now monica the program director just emailed me 1 hour later to tell me that my 3 peices are finished but isn't it funny that its done plus now i only have 3 instead of the 4 that i had originally done. I highly recommend going to a different shop i don't think these people are on the same page

This is a great place to reconnect with your "art" side. They have clay and movement classes for adults and kids. Something different you can do for a date night. We are hosting my birthday party here with Belly dancing for the ladies and then a Tango class for couples.

I didn't take any classes (though they seem to have a surprisingly diverse selection to choose from); but I just have to post about how wonderful they've been to me! My husband has an old, cheap, family heirloom that he treasures dearly. It's a stained-glass sun-catcher. When it accidentally broke, he just crumpled. I decided to find some place that would be able to help me fix it. I contacted Studio 550 to see if they knew of anybody willing to do repairs on something so small and cheaply made. To my surprise, they offered to help fix it themselves! They fixed it up beautifully, and only charged a pittance. I'm going to surprise my husband with the new-and-improved sun-catcher tonight. I can't wait to see his face! Everybody at Studio 550 has been absolutely wonderful to work with; and they are about to make my husband so happy!
