Beautiful Boston Restaurants 2018 | Eater Boston

"I loved that the Readers’ Choice winner leans fully into a tropical aesthetic, with a blue-green color scheme, tropical murals, and photographs of Cuba that create a cohesive Havana-inspired atmosphere." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Boston’s 2018 Eater Award Winners | Eater Boston

"At Casa Caña I encountered a colorful, fun Cuban‑leaning spot inside the reborn Studio Allston hotel — think frozen daiquiris, tropical green‑blue decor, wicker light fixtures, and a great patio. The project, a collaboration between the Lyons Group and the team behind Publico, includes a large selection of Cuba photographs by Lucy Sargent Lyons and leans into a lively, escapist design." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Here Comes Casa Caña, a Cuban-Leaning Rum Bar and Restaurant for Allston | Eater Boston

"A Charles River–adjacent hotel (formerly operating as the Days Hotel) that will house the incoming rum-focused, pan-Latin restaurant; the new tenant effectively takes over the spot vacated when the prior Chinese restaurant closed in 2017." - Tim Forster

The Studio Allston Hotel has seen better days, however it is still a kitchy, eclectic designed establishment that seems to make a decent effort at providing a decent stay. In my opinion, the location was great, as it is directly across the street from a park on the Charles River. The park has extensive walking/biking trails, crew boats, playgrounds, picnic areas and even has a small ampitheater among other amenities. There are restaurants within a reasonable distance and a McDonald's and a grocery store are across the street behind the hotel (parking is in the rear of the hotel so you can't miss them). The hotel appears to have been very trendy back in the early to mid 2000's, maybe even the late 90's, but it looks dated now. It gives off a Miami Vice sort of feel. It offers several amenities like a lounge area with a pool table and bar, a large, extensive outdoor patio area and they also give free Day Passes to the ultra-modern New Balance Fitness Center which is a short 3-4 minute drive or a 10-12 minute walk away. There is not enough parking available, so if the hotel is at capacity, Im not sure what they do to accommodate guests. Parking is somewhat of an inconvenience being in its present location, but its what they have and its free. The hotel charges a "resort fee" of around $35/day but it didnt feel like much of a resort. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room that I was in lived up to my mediocre expectations (after observing the lobby and hallways leading to the room and riding in a very old elevator. After getting my luggage to the room, I never rode the elevator again until the day I checked out). The furniture was dated,as were the decorations. However, it was very clean! The bed was made military-tight and I could've bounced a quarter off of it! One of the 2 biggest drawbacks was a vent in the bathroom near the ceiling which also led directly to the vent in the adjacent room. At night the occupants of the other room left the bathroom light on which shone brightly and eerily into the room that I was in. I dont think that there is a clear view into either room from the other one, but you could definitely hear people taking care of business and may have even been able to get a whiff if the stench were pungent enough. It gave me an uncomfortable feeling, so I was able to cover the vent with the stack of towels which were on the rack near the vent. The second issue was the shower curtain, which was old, worn and dingy beyond cleaning. It was long overdue for replacing. The view from the windows wasn't worth looking at due to the structures that are on either side of the hotel. Overall my stay was tolerable and not bad, but I doubt that I would choose ti stay there again.

The hotel is great and well located, with a bus stop that takes you to the subway right down the street. The hotel is well insulated, so it’s quiet. The bedding is comfortable. The welcome is warm, and the staff and entire team are very kind. The housekeeping team does an excellent job and everything is always clean. The breakfast doesn’t change, but it’s very good and plentiful.

Lucas and Jonathan were AMAZING. Both were very helpful, informative of the city, gave great suggestions, and provided EXCELLENT customer service. The hotel is super cute and cozy. Staff gave it a home feel being they were very personalable. Definitely stay at this hotel and experience the great customer service. Lucas will hold a special place in our hearts, he was so helpful during our stay.

My room was very nice and clean- it smelled great and the shower was spotless. I was very impressed with the white noise machine in the room, that did raise the bar for me. (It’s not super noisy but a little- the walls are more thin and you can hear most people walking by the room, but not anything disrupting) Dining room was a nice touch and the food was so good. The elevator didn’t sound safe and the morning front desk was not the most outgoing when I asked about grabbing a juice to go after breakfast hours, didn’t think it would be that serious but here they apparently take breakfast hours VERY Seriously….lmao I’d prob stay here again

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and professional service at the front desk. Lukas and Johnathan made me feel genuinely welcome — their kindness, efficiency, and positive energy set the perfect tone for my stay. |The room is spotless, cozy, and well-equipped, and the overall atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. It’s clear that the staff here truly care about their guests.

Very dated and old hotel with very little amenities. The rooms were cheaply remodeled, so cheap that they painted the showers and toilets. Drop ceilings in the bathroom so there is no telling what that is hiding. There are much nicer hotels for less in the same area.

We know the Studio Allston for many years now and it is becoming our "home in Boston" now that our son has become a College student in Boston! We find it most happily situated, near the river, with so much green around and nice walks for our dog. We also love the quality of everything in the rooms, especially the great bedding, including the pillows and bed sheets. We love the huge windows and the light-hearted fun modern look with the bright colors here and there without it feeling "loud" or "crowding". We relish the warm breakfasts, with delicious coffee and more than all the friendliness of the staff and Front Desk employees who always make us feel welcome and try to accommodate our requests without fail. Amazing place, really, in every way. The best hotel we know in our lives so far (and we travel a lot).

We liked the hotel a lot. It was really clean and the location was really good. Good parking opportunities (15 $ per night) and a bus station is really close and good connections are available. The staff is really helpful! We enjoyed our stay here a lot during our East Coast road trip and stay in Boston.
