Studio Distilling

A world beating distillery in the heart of the Twin Cities! I attended a distillery tour as a birthday gift and was delighted with a very personal, in depth and entertaining couple of hours. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgable of all aspects of the whiskey making process including the specific types of barrels used. The tour ended with a product tasting with the owner of the distillery. As for the product, their flagship Rye is one of the best on earth winning a double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition meaning all judges awarded the Whiskey a gold medal. Overall I highly reccomend all their spirits and the distillery tour is a fantastic choice as a gift and a very unique experience. Certainly a local business worth supporting!

Went on the tour and had a great time. Our tour was led by Shelly who was nice, knowledgeable and fun to talk with. The products are really high quality and we enjoyed all the samples. Would highly recommend doing this with friends or as a date night. Drink local and support this company!

Never have had, and probably never will have, any whiskey that is this one off and uniquely crafted. Amazing spirit and Brad and Shelly are amazing. Take a tour!

Went here for a tour and had just a great time! Our guide (Jeremy) was so knowledgeable and interesting and fun! We also met brad who does the distilling, everyone from start to finish was so great and helpful. Would definitely come back here!

The distillery: We booked a private tour/tasting at Studio Distillery recently with some friends and were not disappointed. Our tour guide, one of the owners, gave a very informative and comprehensive tour of their entire distilling process. The tour starts with a little history of their bourbons and then we were taken on a journey all the way from where their grain was grown through the distilling process to aging in small cask barrels. The tour ends with a tasting of their whiskeys, which by the way I appreciate the free Glen Cairn tasting glass. I also appreciate a local distillery strictly specializing in whiskeys. However, Studio distilling does like to tinker around with some "blended whiskeys", you'll have to take the tour to know what I'm talking about. The whiskey: AWESOME! Let's first talk about their bourbon. From what I remember it was 92 proof. Although I consider this not a higher alcohol content, the taste seems like it is higher then it is. It definitely goes nice with cocktails as it's flavor profile reminds me of a bourbon coming out of Buffalo Trace distillery. Now on to the Rye: DOUBLE AWESOME!! The rye is actually a "hand crafted" rye malt. Don't let the "malt" keep you from trying this rye, it's a very complex flavor profile and holds its own drinking it neat as well as pairing excellently in a Manhattan. I've already gone through a couple bottles myself. Their rye malt whiskey also took the double gold medal at the World Spirits competition in San Fransisco, which in the world of spirits, this competition is like going to the Olympics. If you like whiskey, by all means book a tour and try out their whiskeys for yourself, you won't regret it.

YALLL get here ASAP. I took a private small group tour. The owners give the tour and let me just say, the passion, care and love for what they do shows. They craft a beautiful story of the process, show you every step and why , how and what. All their ingredients are sourced in MN!!! Like how cool?! They make it a point. If for some reason it is t available it comes for the next closest state. Supporting small local farm and producers. Distillery's have a battle on their hands with covid, I would say even more than winery's and brewery's face Show them some love! You get 3 samples with your tour and can purchase 1 bottle on site of their full selection. Worth the visit

This whiskey is amazing, and we got our own personalized tour. The tasting was delightful. So fun to have internationally awarded distilling right in St. Paul.
