Stumbled on this gem after enjoying a Mother’s Day breakfast next door - wanted to treat myself to an extra coffee and had a lovely experience here! We tried their Rose Gold Latte and their season Cherry Vanilla Latte and loved them both! The Rose Gold Latte is a heavenly rose and honey concoction that had a perfectly balanced flavor profile between the two and wasn’t overly sweet. We tried it hot and it was very smooth and decorative as well. But the Cherry Vanilla Latte (iced) was the clear winner for me - again not too sweet and an excellent amount of cherry and vanilla which complimented each other well. These Oregon-based coffee roasters make their syrups in house and certainly know their blends as well. The coffees were smooth and delicious. Their prices are a tad higher than other spots but the quality is there and I will definitely stop by next time I’m in the area. Service was friendly and efficient - and our lattes were ready pretty quickly! There’s plenty of cozy corners to sit in and enjoy your brews - the decor is chic minimalist in primary colors. Very relaxing vibes. They had a large merch wall too. Parking is free street parking and seemed plentiful. They have a decent location in a cute, walkable neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. And HomeState is right next door with the best queso and chips in SoCal!

Being from Australia and the unofficial coffee capital of the world first thing is first the coffee… it’s great and reminds me of home. The decor is warm and inviting and I especially love the indoor/outdoor spot they have just as you walk in. I was a bit disappointed that a coffee isn’t included when you buy Stumptown branded items. In this case I purchased two Nomad tumblers and a coffee included would have been a nice touch. Maybe something to think about in the future.😊 Besides that it’s a superb cafe with a terrific high standard coffee, great atmosphere and fantastic staff. ❤️☕️❤️

Dropped by on a whim because this small coffee shop, tucked away on busy Lincoln Avenue, caught my eye. The café is small and bustling, which is typical for places of this size. The service was friendly. The barista took her time explaining the menu and making recommendations. The coffee was okay—nothing exceptional. Honestly, I found it overpriced for what you get. The cappuccino only comes in one size (6 oz), which was a bit disappointing. I wish they offered more size options. The cold brew was mediocre as well; a bit more foam would have been nice. Overall, I don’t think it’s worth going out of your way to visit. Until they offer more size options for their cappuccinos, I’ll be exploring other spots.

This new Stumptown is quite lovely, and while I’m sad that the Arts District one is permanently closed, this is a definite upgrade. It’s more approachable, clean, and cozy than the aforementioned. The baristas were nice, the coffee was good as always, and the almond danish was top (though they didn’t have any knives, which makes it tough to share). My only note is that the music was a bit too loud, and the playlist was a bit too boomer (they were playing what seemed to be The Carpenters’ greatest hits 🥴) The highlight was the area out front that’s reminiscent of a living room or open-aired hotel lobby – it was a very cool space.

Google
Was such a cute place and I am a big Coraline fan so once I heard that they were decorating for the 15th anniversary I went 💙. They are super sweet there and the drinks came out super fast ! My favorite was the strawberry match and ofc had to get merch !! Service was amazing !! Very beautiful cafe !

Google
This place is a vibe for sure! ☕ Came here on a Friday morning before it gets packed & and I'm super glad I did! I ordered there vanilla latte hot, which I enjoyed a lot! They made it exactly how I like it, not too sweet & not too hot! Perfection! They didn't have the corline merch but at least they had the coffee holders! Didn't order their specialty coconut cold brew because I'm not a fan of coconut but loved their vanilla latte! #coffeelovers #coffeeaddict #coffetime #coffeemoment #coffeeplease #coraline

I love this new location so much! It’s such a gem and the coffee is so delicious. From the cool designs on the cups to the wall art - it is a great vibe. Baristas are friendly, cool, helpful and talented. This is my favorite coffee shop in Los Angeles!

Google
This place is SO cozy! I love what they did to the space - the outside inside patio, the plants, the heaters, the speakers , the artworks! And of course the drinks are superb and so is my favorite oat milk matcha (and husband’s coffee was super delicious too)! Absolutely going to be a frequent stop for us! Welcome to the neighborhood 🫶🏼

Yelp
First time here and I picked up a matcha latte, slightly sweetened with vanilla as the barista recommended. Liked it a lot! Plenty of free street parking too. I just wish there were more seats inside, but not much they can do about that since there's only so much space.

Yelp
Stumbled up on this place and learned that it's actually an award-winning coffee shop. I've definitely seen sometown coffee at grocery stores, so it was nice to see a dedicated brick and mortar location. Their coffee is straightforward and tasty. It is a little expensive but nothing much more pricey than other options nearby. The ambiance and service are really nice though. Although they don't have that many seats, this is a perfect place to sit down on a lazy afternoon and get some work done. The Wi-Fi is a little slower if you need to take some video calls but it's perfect for just browsing the internet or catching up on work.

Yelp
While the coffee shop appears clean and the male cashier welcoming.... a lot was left to be desired. I ordered 2 pastries. The pastry was supposed to be a blueberry coffee cake muffin and a brownie. The muffin was full of walnuts and flavorless. The blueberries tasted like they had been sitting in oil vs any kind of natural or sugar base. It wasnt tasty. Borderlining inedible. It was a sad muffin. I did not eat the brownie, gave it to my friend. Who in fact is a sweets eater.... and didnt finish it. My pal who ordered a coffee wasnt enthused either.

Yelp
On the quest to find the best coffee in SoCal.. I ended up at this gem. I should preface this by saying that I have bought these prepackaged at Whole Foods for eons. I love that they use oatmilk as a standard base. I didn't realize that this was here until someone alerted me to the Coraline collab. Merch is pricey, and they have had more foot traffic from people coming for the Coraline drinks and merch. Read: if you're not a hipster and would rather avoid the unnecessary crowds, coming during the week. There is a small parking lot shared by this shop, an Italian market and HomeState (get the coffee then go buy the tacos and thank me later!) or else you have to press your luck on the street but read the signs. Seasonal drinks are what I like to try, and they are GOOD. There is a slight up charge for getting iced bevies. Seating isn't bad, but if it's busy it'll fill up fast. I like the vibe. The employees are nice and knowledgable. Service is fast and efficient. Wish they would expand and open more of these!

Yelp
Who hurt y'all.... My wife and I went a couple days before before Thanksgiving. We were excited to drop by this location since she went to one in Seattle the week before. We also love the beans we get from the supermarket. Their grinder was busted that morning and all the workers were just giving us major 'tude. Our orders are usually just black coffee.... The front porch area is a REALLY nice foyer type of thing that faces the street. I know they'll get their act together the next time we show up, and I can't wait to update this post.

Yelp
Small coffee shop with friendly staff, opens late, and delicious fresh coffee. I ordered a traditional macchiato and it was delightful. Even fit in a small latte art heart! Not much inside seating but there are some on the patio. Minimal parking in the back and street parking. I will visit again!

Yelp
Tried out Stumptown Coffee Roasters, and it did not disappoint! I started with their seasonal Strawberry Lemonade, which had a perfectly balanced sweetness--not too much, not too little, just right for a refreshing treat. I also ventured into new territory with *The Other Mother* Black Sesame Latte Iced. I wasn't sure what to expect, but wow--it surprised me! The flavors were so well-balanced that I ended up loving it more than I thought I would. We also ordered an Iced Matcha with two pumps of vanilla, which was perfect for my personal preference of sweetness. The service was fantastic; the cashier was super friendly, knowledgeable, and totally got that I was in the mood for something sweet. The atmosphere is unique with a subtle *Coraline* theme. It's simple but has cute details, like a charming shadow box that adds a nice touch. We even bought their *Coraline* mug--a whopping $32, so you know it's getting special treatment! The restroom setup is considerate, with both-gender restrooms featuring private individual stalls. There's also a wheelchair-accessible elevator around the back, which is a thoughtful addition. Just a heads-up, parking is pretty limited, and the menu is simple and a bit on the smaller side. But with those tasty drinks and friendly vibes, I'll definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
I'm one of those people that's here from TikTok cause I'm a massive Coraline fan. The decor was cute, the Coraline cold brew was way too coconutty for me and the little coconut flakes made it less enjoyable - my friend said she likes to "not chew" her coffee and this was work lol! I had an iced oat milk vanilla latte and it was subpar, I've had far better!

Yelp
Came for the coraline experience & was unfortunately left a bit disappointed. Firstly, the staff looked like they didn't care whether you were there or not. Then, when I got my latte, the chocolate button eyes were no where to be seen. So disappointing.

Yelp
Wanted to come and try, finally made it in today. There was a long line but it moved pretty quickly. Ambiance is really cool, open concept and very clean. Glad we came in today/ our coffee's were good, received great service.

Yelp
Ordered iced coffee latte that was recommended by the staff. It tasted good, and it had strong coffee texture and aromas. The outside sitting area is great and their store is decorated in a movie theme. Not too crowded so you can easily find a seat in the store and enjoy the coffee. Great spot for a coffee to go in Pasadena area. It has plenty of street parking in weekday.

Yelp
I went September during their coraline theme cafe collaboration and it was so good! The coffee taste really nice and the staff was really friendly.

Yelp
Based out of Portland, OR Stumptown earned a reputation for its high-quality coffee. They recently opened a location in East Pasadena, and I finally had the opportunity to check it out. Before you enter the shop, you walk through a charming indoor/outdoor seating area that has fun pics on the wall, vinyl on the shelves, and live plants. It emits a welcoming vibe. Inside has a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Both sections beckon you to stay and enjoy your visit. There is a section with whole beans and other items to purchase, in addition to pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits, & cold beverages. Tia enthusiastically greeted me and was eager to assist with my order. Since I'm trying to be more adventurous, I decided to go with their signature drink - Raspberry Rose Cortado. I watched as the barista prepared my beverage with care and mindfulness. She handed it to me with a smile. After letting my phone drink first, I finally took a sip. It was bold, balanced, thick, & creamy. The Rose flavor was a pleasant surprise. Lightly floral with hints of raspberry. I liked it more and more with each sip. The syrups are made in house and aren't overly sweet, so the sweetness level was subtle. I savored the last drop and made a mental note of when I would be able to go back for another. The next day I received an e-mail from Stumptown thanking me for my visit and a $2 off code to use towards my next purchase. You can bet I'll be redeeming that very soon! *25 cent discount if you bring your own cup. *Street Parking

Yelp
This place was OKAY, nothing special or memorable. Another iced matcha with oat milk that was $7. Not worth the price but I will say their restrooms were very nice and smelled so good/clean!(if anyone cares to know that lol) their vegan chocolate chip cookie was delicious so if anything go for that.

Yelp
#127 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles. Stumptown is a coffee roaster based in Portland, Oregon, where the chain's flagship coffeeshop opened in 1999. I first tried the brand years ago at their flagship store in Portland, and fell in love with the quality espresso. Since then, I've frequented the Arts District location quite a bit, though recently I have been less inclined to deal with LA traffic and Arts District parking. Thankfully, Stumptown made the move here to north Pasadena! For my first trip to this new location, I tried the seasonal spiced cookie latte (not my favorite) and a vanilla latte. Both of the drinks use house-made syrups, which I prefer, as you don't get that artificial cloying flavor with house-made alternatives. The vanilla latte was good, but I'm really just waiting for their salted maple latte to make it back onto the seasonal menu, as that was my favorite Stumptown drink for years. Update: Their newest seasonal drink is the Rose Gold latte (rose & honey), and it's pretty delicious. Both the rose and the honey flavors are subtle, so the end result isn't overly floral or sweet. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Yelp
I forgot my coffee at home and thought I'd give Stumptown a try. I had the oatmilk latte. It was creamy and delicious. One of the better ones I've had compared to the other neighborhood coffee shops. It was on the pricier side-$7 a cup. At that price, it's a deterrent as a daily stop. Staff was friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for Coraline! I enjoyed the drinks here very much- the flight was strong and I definitely felt the caffeine. The other mother latte is not too sweet, which I like. It reminds me of a coastal cafe and I love it. On the sleepier side of town, easy to miss but a great place to spend a Saturday!
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
Decor is really neat and unique. Food and coffee were solid. Prices somewhat high and it is hard to find parking and not much room to stand in line.
google avatar

Erika T.

Yelp
Not my most fav coffee place I've tried and definitely one of the most expensive. Although the ambiance is nice, the parking can be tough and the coffee is just so pricey. Ordered a 16oz iced vanilla latte for basically $8.50 after tax. I thought it would be strong and bold but it was kind of milked down and the flavor of the espresso was more in the background. I guess one perk is that they don't charge extra for oat milk. I've had better places for a way cheaper cost, so I don't think I'd come here again.

Yelp
New coffee shop in the area? Say less! Welcome to Pasadena Stumptown! We gladly stood in line for the Grand Opening. The line moved rather quickly. It helped that the staff provided hot pour over samples to waiting guests. A flower truck was on site, DJ spinning tunes, coloring pages for the kiddos, and doggie treats...I heard zero complaints. I literally wanted to order everything. Sadly I had to choose only a few. Items we ordered: 1) Signature drink : Raspberry Rose Cortado (strong espresso..as it should be. the raspberry and rose flavor were pleasantly very present) 2) Vanilla Latte with almond milk (not too sweet, not too frothy, just the right amount of sweet..perfection) 3) Blueberry muffin (hit the spot, very moist and flavorful. contained a lot more actual berries than I had expected) The entire aesthetic was right up my alley. Light wood shelving, vinyl records, a record player, art work on the walls, great coffee, and plants. Any decor that contains live, well maintained greenery is heaven to me. Great grand opening event. The enthusiasm and pride vibrating off the staff was refreshing to see/feel. Will return in the very near future. Well done Stumptown..well done! Tips: 1) small parking lot and bathroom located in the back (shared with neighboring business Home State) 2) app is available for mobile orders 3) all drinks are made with oat milk unless another milk option is requested

Yelp
A new Portland-based coffee shop has recently opened nearby, and I believe I've discovered my new favorite spot. The staff members are incredibly friendly, and there's ample seating both indoors and outdoors. I'm absolutely captivated by the decor and the overall ambiance of the shop. They offer a wide array of intriguing coffee selections alongside some classic choices. If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend stopping by! Conveniently situated next to Homestate, it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy a bite to eat before indulging in a delightful cup of coffee.

Yelp
Was in the area and finally had a chance to stop. I had seen that they were doing a Coraline collaboration. I was pretty excited to check it out unfortunately, it wasn't a very big collaboration. Once I finally got there. There was no merch. Everything was sold out. they had a few stickers Cold brew, in a can and a few pictures up on the walls. I ordered the cold brew coconut drink that they had for the movie they did have cute paper cup holders The drink was awful. It just tasted like cold brew coffee it actually tasted burnt. Customer service was very lacking. I was super excited when I walked in and was asking the girl about the collaboration, and she just seemed kind of irritated barely any kind of response didn't even let me know that there was a drink for the Coraline movie. I had to see that myself , I don't know if it was because it was close to closing time. They were in a hurry in a rush, but my first experience was not great. I definitely won't be going back.

Yelp
The good: Great staff! The staff at this coffee shop are all amazing. Super welcoming and helpful. The okay: I ordered an ice americano and it was alright. Not great, but not bad. I can't see myself driving more than 5 minutes for coffee from here. Should you try it? YES. Wasn't for me - but maybe it will be for you.
google avatar

Yelp
Coraline Dream! Their Coraline themed stuff is great. If you want to combine really good coffee with a mixed space, this is the spot. Building is half indoor and outdoor. Gives lots of fresh air and nice space to work from. Strong WiFi Staff is quick and friendly. I would recommend here for a WFH location.
google avatar

Alejandra G.

Yelp
i don't know why there's so many negative reviews!? i loved my experience here. sad that i didn't get the coraline drinks but there were still some coraline cold brews and stickers for $2. the drinks itself, i'm not sure if they accidentally put our drinks in a small cup but we asked for medium and it's the smallest cup ever. besides that we loved everything else. we got a mint matcha and a vanilla matcha with oat milk. they were both so delicious and came out really fast. the service was great! the inside is clean and spacious. great experience i love everything about it except the prices with the small amount of drink
google avatar

Enrique M.

Yelp
This place is ok. Not sure if this is just a Coraline theme pop up and currently trending on TikTok? Of if this place is actually poppin. I mean the painting outside is nice and the few Coraline themes frames on the wall were cool but nothing really screamed Coraline theme. The coffee was good. Had a 16oz Quad Iced Latte, which he gave me half off for purchasing a bag of coffee. The location is nice but I'm not from Pasadena and don't find myself making the trip here again as I feel this place is way too hyped. Again, just me. The spot is nice.

Yelp
Amazing pour over, cold brews, and lattes. I was so sad when the Stumptown in LA (arts district) closed down. Am still sad they chose to move to Pasadena instead... Came today to support them and was happy to see not much has changed in their quality. Delicious pour overs and hand crafted lattes. I've always loved how they don't charge extra for milk alternatives, they just understand that not everyone likes or can have milk from a cow. The space inside is okay. Smaller than LA, but still room for a quick place to chat with a friend or to get some work done. Plenty of restrooms right outside, super clean too. Service is still really friendly and happy. Parking.. isn't the best, but there are about 8 spots in the back and some street parking available. It made me extremely sad to read some of the recent reviews of this place. Service IS great, who cares if they dont have nametags, add prices are the same as they would be for any other coffee spot Pasadena, get yourself together and realize what a gem Stumptown is. LA would LOVE to have them back.

Yelp
Love their coffee! Every time in the area I stop by, highly recommend! Also, try their food!

Yelp
It's about to go down inside Stumptown where they don't play around with the oval brown. It's the only reason I can make it through the week and I can say they are definitely at the peak. I'm sure everything on their menu is on point but I went with something a little different to my tastebuds. I ordered the rose gold latte that was perfectly balanced blend of their coffee with floral notes. I also tried a regular vanilla latte which was on point of course. The shop itself is definitely chill and they have seating in the front so you can enjoy your Joe alfresco style. Service was on point and what took this experience to the next step was the mug service. That for me makes the coffee adventure next level. And that's my take, Peace out.
google avatar

Janet N.

Yelp
Got the coconut cold brew (Coraline drink) I enjoyed it. Good service and nice ambiance. It gets busy because they have great coffee and the Coraline limited edition theme has made it more popular.

Yelp
best coffee around!! must try come check them out! wont dissapoint!! great flavor. come check them out when u can!!

Yelp
Traveled an hour to go here and try the special Coraline Cold Brew and buy some Coraline merch to make my kids jealous. When we arrived I had to circle the place to figure out parking. Spoiler alert I parked in the wrong lot. The shop was busy and the line was to the sidewalk. Once we were at the counter we were informed that there was no more Coraline Merch. We were bummed but understood and ordered our coffees. I tried the basic iced coffee with vanilla and milk while my date tried the Coraline Cold Brew. They tasted ok but I don't think we even finished half of our $7 drinks. Probably will never return unless they do another special drink, I am a sucker for silly stuff like this.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
Although the street is very busy there is parking in the lot next to the shop. By far some of the best coffee around and the street seats are good for people watching.
google avatar

Karla P.

Yelp
I live just a couple blocks away from this place and have been coming since they opened. The baristas and cashiers always look so unhappy, and I rarely ever feel welcomed here. I come because it's close to home and need a place to study but I always regret coming here. I always make sure to be extra nice and not ask for any extra help, it almost feels you're walking on eggshells here! I feel bad, hopefully the people here find a place theyre happier working at. Its really expensive too, and the crowd sucks. The literal definition of gentrification. I really tried to give it a chance considering its in my neighborhood. They had a deceiving crowd for a bit because of their Coraline collab but don't let it fool you, youre way better of going to Homestate nextdoor. Giving it one star cuz no stars isn't an option.
google avatar

Alejandra D.

Yelp
The ambiance was cozy and work friendly . However, the pumpkin spice latte was ok but not delicious. The coraline coaster was cute. The blueberry coffee cake was ok but not something I would order again.
google avatar

Yelp
Parking available on the side of the building! Cute area in the shade to wait outside if there is a line. Dairy Free options available limited seating inside but more outside the Coraline Coconut Cream Coldbrew was delicious Coraline mugs available for purchase beautifully decorated interior

Yelp
Pumpkin spice latte was delicious. Excellent selection of pastries. Located in a cute little area. Very friendly staff. Very fast service

Yelp
Love stumptown. I had it when I went to Portland a few years back. So glad that it is finally here. Service was very chill. No arrogant baristas. Just get coffee and skip on pastries.

Yelp
I have been coming to Stumptown Coffee Roasters the past 8 years and it's my favorite espresso and coffee. I was going to the Arts District LA location and was sad to hear they were moving to Pasadena lol. This is my third time at the new location and I have to admit, I do like it a lot here. Parking is easier, they have more restrooms and more seating as well. The vibe is still dope and the staff is the same, friendly and chill. If you have never tried Stumptown coffee, I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Luke F.

Yelp
Me and my wife went out of our way to go to Stumptown for their Coraline decor! We didn't get their special drink because we don't like coconut, but we enjoyed the drinks we did get. The line was pretty long, as people were also there for the same reason but we were able to be served pretty quickly!
google avatar

Yelp
After going grocery shopping at Super King (up the street) wanting to try this new coffee shop down the street and it was totally worth it! Ordered a matcha latte with vanilla - tasted delicious! Would come back to try their iced matcha latte!

Yelp
Take a step into the Other World, a pocket dimension of Coraline, featured at Stumptown Coffee Roasters in Pasadena for a limited time. LAIKA Studios infused this legendary local coffee shop with a few pieces of their iconic movie memorabilia in celebration of Coraline's 15 year anniversary, to the enchantment and delight of customers. Don't hesitate to bat your button eyes and take a gander at the trove of merchandise and bevy of delectable drinks and eats available on their seasonal menu. By the neon horseshoe light, luck would have it that I came across Coraline's Coconut Creme Coldbrew and decided to give it a try. The coldbrew coffee had a great texture and taste, the flakes of caramelized coconut topped it off fabulously, and the adorable sleeve was a great added touch! I really enjoyed my experience visiting this unique cafe, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was upbeat and fun, and I would highly recommend checking it out if you are in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Quenia U.

Yelp
If you love Coraline you have to come here! My daughter and I love Coraline and when we saw they had a limited edition Coraline drinks, we drove out to Pasadena. The cold brew cans are very cute but would definitely sweeten it next time! The cold brew with vanilla was okay, we didn't think it's a must. They did have teas, some desserts and merchandise as well. Overall it's worth the visit for the Coraline theme and for the experience.

Yelp
Welcome to Pasadena Stumptown! I came here early Saturday morning and there was a line forming to get their free swag bag and check out the new shop. The line moved pretty efficiently and the workers were pumping out orders. The shop itself is super cute. The decor is chef's kiss and ambience is perfection. I ended up trying their 8oz vanilla latte for $5.50 and I was sadly disappointed by it. No knock to the company, but my drink tasted like oatmilk with a dash of coffee (so bland). I enjoyed the beans I have tried previously, so I know that this experience has no affect on my opinions of Stumptown. Just get a plain coffee here or try one of their speciality drinks. Luckily, my visit here was worth it as I got a free bag that came with whole beans, a cute mug, and stickers!

Yelp
Instagram, google, yelp, all say that they close at 6PM on Sunday Arrived here about 525 and multiple people were arriving and leaving after they decided to close early I guess? Bummer!
google avatar

Isabella K.

Yelp
I ordered the fall flight, and the drinks rated a solid 4/5! They were a bit too cold in temperate for my taste, but the flavor was great--just the right amount of sweetness. I thought three small lattes for $12 was a good deal, and I appreciated the presentation. The Coraline decor was cute, though I think they could have done a bit more with it. Overall, I would definitely come back to show a friend.
google avatar

K'Yanna W.

Yelp
Tried a latte from here! I recommend adding extra sweetener! I thought the maple flavor would make it sweet be it needed to be a little sweeter! VERY CUTE AND LOVED THE CORALINE THEME! Definitely a must try!

Yelp
There will be a line but the wait isn't too bad. Pretty deco and chill peeps very clean environment and menus is comparable if not better than other coffee shops
