"This homey restaurant tucked into an International District strip mall serves Mexican favorites like sopes, tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, as well as Salvadoran pupusas. Made-to-order pupusas come with fresh masa and melted mozzarella cheese, combined with fillings like carne asada, jalapeños, mushrooms, and loroco, or edible flower buds. Cheese-filled birria tacos served in fresh, grilled tortillas with a side of warm beef consomé are a standout." - Rachel Pinsky

I visited Su Casa Marquez. It's a tiny eatery that you order at the counter. I tried the barbacoa enchiladas, chips & salsa and a coke. My friend went with a burrito. My food was just ok. The enchiladas were buried under something like a salad. My friend's burrito looked much better. The chips were alright but not worth the extra five bucks and I didn't care for the salsa ($1). I might be able to find something better but feel that other Mexican joints will serve me better. You win some, you lose some. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars.✌🏻

Google
I love this place!! It’s my new go to for cheese enchiladas. I moved to Vancouver from Los Angeles and have been searching for some good Mexican food ever since, and I finally found it! Staff is very nice as well, and they have a little salsa bar! Definitely give this place a try :) In the photo, is my partners beef burrito.

Google
Unassuming on the outside but well worth the stop. Homestyle mexican food that made me feel like i was back home in Texas. Best mexican I've had in the portland area. I highly reccommend the birria cheese tacos. When he pulled fresh salsa bottles from his apron i know it would be 🔥

Google
I heard about this establishment from word of mouth. It was so good! The fresh made corn tortillas are out of this world delicious! I went back the next day to have more delicious food because I want to try everything 😋

Saw a video on TikTok about how they were having a hard time due to current events. I saw that they were close by, so I decided to drop in and order to-go for my family. The aesthetic inside made me feel very cozy and comfortable, like I was visiting a tio’s house. The owners daughter (I didn’t quite catch her name) was so incredibly sweet and a total pleasure to talk to while I waited for my food. Everything is homemade, which of course can take a while, but waiting never bothers me at all. Especially since the wait was 1000% worth it. You can definitely tell that the owners put A LOT of love into their cooking. My family and I were absolutely speechless when we took our first bites. The food was phenomenal!!! I will definitely be back many MANY more times. Please come support this local family owned business, you won’t be disappointed. Ps, much love to the owners and their family ❤️

Google
Small little restaurant with great food, very tasty. The consume was excellent and cheap, street tacos were delicious, full salsa bar. Machaca and carne asada were delicious. Friendly service. Lots of parking, a bit hard to see from the main street as it is set back in the corner. Reasonably priced, worth a visit if you like Mexican food

Google
Hole in the wall place with delicious food! I ordered their pupusas, a bean and cheese, and a chicharon with cheese, both Very good. The tortillas are hand made and they have a spicy and non-spicy salsa for them, the curtido isnt super pickled which is my preference and is spiced pretty well. I will be coming here again 😊

Google
First time here. The asada tacos were flavorless and tortilla not cooked. Then we tried the camarones en crema, they only gave us 7shrimps. It was watery, no flavor, and it’s $16.99, disgusting! Not worth it, not even the beans or rice made it better. Don’t recommend anything else in the menu, only the pupusas, bean and chicharrón were delicious.

Yelp
It was a split decision tonight. The wife loved the Cali burrito with chicken (potato, avocado, cilantro and maybe chickpeas), one of her all time favorites, 5 stars. I had the birria torta and I was not as impressed. It looked like the roll was 3 hot dog buns, side by side. The birria that was on the sandwich was pretty good however it was a disappointingly small amount. It was fairly spendy for the sandwich that I received. So a 3 star experience for me. The inside is a little stuffy, no real air circulation. The interior is several years past the point of needing some new paint. Su Casa Marquez offers a larger and more diverse menu than almost all of the places I've been to in Vancouver. It's rare to see a salsa bar, they have I've however it's a bit of a disappointment as well. No pico de Gallo, no pickled carrots or onions. It's really just a collection of squeeze bottles of 2 or 3 salsas. They make their own tortillas, I wish I had tried one. There's a lot of potential, I hope the step up their game.

Yelp
This place was not too bad. The burritos are huge and the food it pretty tasty. The papusa's which are their specialty are really good too. We got the burrito with rice and beans. The shredded beef in the burrito was kind of spicy and had a kick to it. We also got one papusa and 3 tacos. All the food was delicious. There was only a couple people there at around 7pm. The sauces they have there are just ok and kind of runny. I might come back again for some more tacos.

Yelp
Solid Pupusa and a great burrito. The corn tortillas, however, were the highlight; they were like soft, warm blankets for our tacos. Staff was very nice and - while the food took a little longer than expected - it was well worth the wait. While you're waiting, hit the little mercado/panaderia (Mexican pastry shop) next door and pick up a concha or some tres leches cake.

Yelp
Food is delicious! The service is quick and to the point. The ambiance is calm and pleasant. A great hole in the wall!

Yelp
Tiny tacos for 2.50, I'm not soo sure I'd come back again. If you are not picky, you probably won't Carr, but the pictures and rating on yelp are just not true. Sorry. The picture I took actually made the tacos look decent but taste wise, definite pass

Yelp
Having lived in California a majority of my life until the past few years since moving to Vancouver, authentic Mexican food is one of the things I've missed most. I've tried many Mexican restaurants and trucks around the area and over the bridge but they've never quite hit the spot until now! Their food is amazing, prices are great and the staff is so nice! Small, family owned businesses are my favorite and I highly recommend this one. Feel free to ask the staff what their favorite is, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I had high hopes for the pupusas but man they were so off. First the pupusas had a mix of corn and wheat flour. If you're Salvi, you know pupusas are only made with corn flour. The smell of wheat flour hit me right away when I opened the container. I felt like I was eating a burrito or quesadilla with the smell of wheat flour. I got pupusas revueltas but the beans had no flavor, couldn't taste chicharrón, cheese was also off, needed salt, and there was very little filling. Salsa was nothing like pupusa salsa but the curtido was decent (needed more vinegar and oregano). I haven't tried anything else in the restaurant so maybe their Mexican food is good. That's the only reason I left 3 stars.

Yelp
The pork seasoning is delicious! Generous portions are an understatement! Very fresh taste! Patient and helpful service! Thanks for the great food!

Yelp
We went to Vancouver from West Linn, Oregon to get great Mexican food..... once we arrived in Vancouver, we Yelped Mexican food.... And of course this restaurant came up as top. The Gordita was amazing as well as the Enchiladas. However, the coolest thing was this thing called a Porputa??? It's this homemade sort of thick tortilla ordered with numerous options of ingredients. Anyway, anytime we are in the Couve we will definitely hit this spot up.... This is a local family restaurant and the son helps our front as he attends college..... great dude! Also- the bakery next door is also phenomenal for some fresh Mexican cookies/cakes or donuts!

Yelp
Oh my goodness... this place is on par if not better than the SoCal taco joints I missed. My husband and I split the Cali burrito and some quesabirria tacos and just sat and ate in silence as we enjoyed every bite. I honestly have no words other than "delicious." The Cali burrito is the definition of a perfect burrito in my opinion. Every bite was perfection. Service was also very friendly and quick, and they came and bussed our table, which was appreciated. I will be back many, many times. Go here, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
I have a philosophy about "hole in the wall" eateries; they produce the most delicious food! This place hits all the authenticity of Mexican food! My husband had the menudo; full of those herb'ish flavoring, he loved every spoonful. I had the carne asada gordita and three tacos de lengua; I too enjoyed every bite. I'm very much looking forward to trying more items on the menu!

Yelp
We trusted Yelp yesterday and guess what?!? We had the best meal. My daughters ordered the birria tacos. They loved them. They told me today they want to go back!! I had the asada taco plate and it was solid!!! The young lady at the cash register was very friendly and helpful for our first visit. I'm sad I didn't order any pupusas. I definitely want to go back and try several!

Tessa B.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! The birria tacos are my favorite only tied with the chicken pupusa! I highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly and helpful!

Suzanne D.

Yelp
We selected burritos and nachos....fabulous flavor, huge size and this is now our favorite place for Mexican food!!!

Alicia M.

Yelp
Small inside, good food and service. Tried it for the first time based on reviews. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Great little restaurant. Always friendly and polite service. The food is insane. So good. Definitely some of the best I've had.
google avatar

Yelp
Carne asada tacos - unique seasoning and outstanding Enchiladas - really tasty and loved the lettuce, tomatoes, and crema on top Rice - literally the best we've ever had Beans - creamy and legit. Pretty sure there is plenty of lard in there, which I love Salsa - hot and very flavorful The veggies are like some sort of a Mexican kimchee and really good Great place and anytime I am in the vicinity, I will be there!

Kathryn A.

Yelp
Cute place to stop on the way through the area with quaint outdoor picnic table seating. Delicious carne asada tacos with homemade tortillas which were bigger than usual.

Yelp
Huge menu full of authentic favorites. Was an instant hit with our family. Way across town for us but 100% worth it. The caldo de res is lovely. Order a side of rice if you normally eat it that way. Also the birria tacos, absolutely crave-worthy, especially with the consome. If you really want the IG whole hog, you can get tapatio ramen at H Mart in NoPo, make that up and mix it with your consome, dip your tacos, oh my goodness. Carb overload but it is a tasty treat. The family enjoys the burritos and quesadillas and chimichangas. I haven't had a good pupusa in a couple years, so I really want to come try some but those birria tacos always win out. Also, they are huge and filling. I ordered three the first time and regretted it. If you are a light eater, one and the consome may be enough, but will leave you wanting more. They are super nice, the wait isn't long at all, and it is an amazing option if you want something different than the usual. And if you have kids who aren't as adventurous, there are still plenty of delicious options they will recognize. And if you're here on a Friday night, the panaderia next door smells delicious. Grab some conchas and Abuelita and you are set for Saturday morning breakfast with a hot cup of champurrado.

Yelp
This is truly a hole in the wall restaurant! I've driven down this street so many times but I've never realized this shop was here! Such an amazing mom and pop shop! The man behind the register was so friendly and nice. They have a good menu of dishes. What I got was cheese tacos filled with Birria and consomé to dip it in. Delicious! Definitely going to come back to try the rest of the food on the menu! And for those who are wondering, they are following all protocols during the pandemic.

Ana A.

Yelp
This is not a fancy place, but the food and service is very good. My carne asada plate was delicious, especially the homemade corn tortillas. This is an authentic Mexican family restaurant who are welcoming and friendly. I will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Hole in the wall places are thee best. They say they're a Mexican place, but they have Salvadorian food such as PUPUSA. What is pupusa? Only the best thing in the world. A hand-made dough filled with usually cheese and your choice of filling (spinach, mushroom, beans, shrimp, etc). We ordered an assortment of pupusa because we can. Mushroom, Spinach, and Shrimp. I gotta give the trophy to the shrimp. A fine balance of protein and dough. The spinach wasn't too far off either. The mushroom was a little too umami for me. It was nice that they have a self serve salsa bar because as we Asians, we loaded on the salsa and veggies. I can't say it's my top spot for pupusa. It does satisfy my cravings though. They're huge and you can easily over order and save the rest for the next day. It's a local spot and close to my gym, so I guess I'll be coming here often for my post workout snack.

Yelp
Dropped in for a quick lunch and had an excellent Birria. Portion was enormous and so leftovers were even better the next day.
google avatar

Stacey K.

Yelp
Amazing homemade Mexican food. Very personable owner. Customer service is great, too.
google avatar

Yelp
I think all of it was very good. The Barbacoa was better then the carne asada. The place is authentic and I would have again
google avatar

Yelp
Their Quesabirrias are amazing and the tortillas are freshly handmade I mean you cannot have it better than this ! They pupusas are good but the show stopper definitely was the quesabirria I cannot wait to try more of their menu cause so far it was good !
google avatar

Daisy A.

Yelp
Very cozy little place tucked inside a plaza where you'll be greeted by the sweetest older man who also helps prepare dishes. I ordered queso birria tacos with consomé and it's just what I needed for a rainy day. Tortillas tasted of quality and each bite was crunchy with just the right amount of flavorful juices. Overall, I would say authentic Mexican food. Can't wait to go back and try other items.

Yelp
What you'd call a hole in the wall, really doesn't look like much when you walk past, the only other things in this shopping square are a Chinese joint (also very good), a bakery, and a 7/11 so it's pretty unassuming. The man behind the counter was cheerful and charming and really just seemed happy to be there serving you, great guy. My friends both got chimichangas which I didn't try but they both seemed blown away by. I got chilaquiles which were huge seriously giant, probably the size of two plates combined and were delicious. No complaints at all! Very affordable for how much food was there, like two meals for the price of one. The man behind the counter checked on us, was very genuine, wanted to make sure everything was satisfactory for us, really great guy! Really have nothing bad to say about this place, eve home should give it a try, I'll definitely be back again
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in Vancouver. Always get the Birria tacos and have never been disappointed! Very nice family feel from the way you order to the food being delivered.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Was craving some chilaquiles and omg so delicious, chips were nice and crunchy. This plate is packed!! And to top it off customer service was great. Person who helped us out was very friendly . Glad I chose the right spot for a dish that taste like it was made with love
google avatar

Kurt M.

Yelp
I'm really surprised by the strong reviews for this place. The food was very average at best. We had an order of chicken tacos and an order of beef tacos and an order of chicken nachos. None of it was good. Pretty disappointing.
google avatar

Marc B.

Yelp
Really good food. Great service, especially Jovany. He knows the menu from memory and gave us good suggestions on what we should eat. Would eat again!
google avatar

Tara M.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing family operated restaurant. We've been going here for years and have never had a bad meal or bad service. They are always extremely friendly and the food is the best Mexican food in Vancouver! We got food to go during the pandemic and it was still hot and not soggy when we got home. We don't live very close to the restaurant so that says a lot!
google avatar

Isaiah L.

Yelp
Great hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Would be 5 stars but recently found another local Mexican place that took the top spot for me.
google avatar

Ethan M.

Yelp
This is a really good place to get some good food. Their carne asada plate never disappoints. They're chicken quesadillas are great. Their pupusas are awesome. Overall just great Mexican food and I haven't found another place nearby with as good flavor as Su Casa Marquez. You can tell it's family owned when you go inside and they treat you like family. Big thank you to the owners for their kindness and hospitality y'all have regulars for as long as we live nearby!
google avatar

Alice M.

Yelp
Delicious!!!! The birria tacos: best ever!!!! Crunchy, flavorful, perfectly tender beef, melted cheese, and the consume... bravo!! Better than regular tacos. Pupusas: light, nice size, delicious. We loved the mushroom one because it's different. Beef and chicken ones were great too. Thumbs up from the entire family.
google avatar

Olivia I.

Yelp
I love this restaurant soooooo much. The food is made with love. So yummy, and fresh! You'll be wanting to come back more and more. The owners are very friendly. The prices are great.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food is hard to come by. This place is nice and makes a good taco. It has good mojo from me for sure!

Yelp

Yelp
This is a must must must visit place!! The food is soooo good that there are no words. Authentic home cooked food has its own charm and I don't think there's anything that compares!!

Yelp
Went to this little hole in the wall for the second time today. Delicious tacos and friendly customer service. It's a gem.
google avatar

Thalia R.

Yelp
I definitely DIDN'T like their pupusas . but their birria tacos are the complete opposite . Just AMAZING and so was their new green salsa they had made that day . would definitely go back for more
google avatar

Yelp
I tried this place through Uber Eats... and I just can't even compliment this place enough! They have THE BEST FOOD. (Notice I put effort into putting in caps, I'm not messing around) My mind is blown by how tasty EVERYTHING was. I ordered the rojo chicken enchilada plate, the chicken and bean pupusa and the birria taco. There is not one bad thing to say. Perfect portion, still hot, and again... so tasty. I've been in search for a new and amazing cuisine, and these guys have something really good going for them. You have to try this place out!

Graciela P.

Yelp
Great food and really friendly owner. Have had the burrito, chilaquiles, and pupusas and all have been amazing.
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Best food I've had in a long time! Everything from the chips and homemade salsa to the burrito and rice tasted like it was made with love. I'm never going muchas gracias again. Extremely nice people with authentic food, I was blown away. I can't wait to try more things on the menu!
google avatar

Ann M.

Yelp
BREAKING NEWS! The search has ended! Our quest for a good Mexican restaurant with authentic rather than Americanized food stopped right here. I loved the birria and I am not a huge meat eater. So flavorful and a homemade tortilla. Hubby had a combination plate playing it safe with enchiladas. He was very happy and very full. We will be back to savor some of the other items on the menu. Great service, gracious and proud (as they should be) of their product.
google avatar

Kimberly P.

Yelp
My 5 star reviews are rare...typically I would include all of the aesthetic things that make the place shine or I might even mention the fabulous service (yes, there is fabulous service here!) but this is the very first time I've given 5 stars for the food as a stand alone. The food is that GOOD. We've tried the sopes, tacos, burritos, camarones diablo, tortas, tamales, taquitos...all excellent. The staff is warm, efficient and proud of their place. The dining area is spotless. The menu is also filled with a HUGE list of pupusas that we're looking forward to trying on our next visit. Plus, they offer bottled Coca Cola from Mexico, Horchata, jugo de tamarindo and jamaica. Don't let the humble exterior dissuade you from coming in.
google avatar

Scott G.

Yelp
As others have mentioned, the mapping on Yelp is off by quite a ways but the address is correct. The food here is authentic and pretty good. The service, venue and value however are lacking. I had the 2 taco combo plate (#20) for $8.99 with chicken tacos and it was good tasting but there just wasn't much there for $9. The service wasn't great and they didn't even give me a fork for my take out order. I wanted menudo but they were out of take out containers for soup. They have a limited selection of meats and no carnitas? They are closed randomly and post the dates on the inside. If I'm in the area I'll try the pupusa.
