"Israeli wife-husband duo Etty and Eli Weinberg run this convivial eatery in North Miami, where silky smooth hummus is whipped up at least twice a day, topped with beef or chicken, and served with soft pita bread. Hearty shareable dishes here are cooked under the supervision of a full-time kosher supervisor, amongst the Middle Eastern creations are crispy Moroccan cigars doused with nutty tahini sauce, hearty chicken shawarma bowl, and kofta kabob. Order one of the many Israeli wines on the list to complement the meal." - Juliana Accioly

Great Kosher/Israeli food. Get the Chicken Pirogyot, salads, hummus and tahini! Also the kosher Bahn mi is awesome.

Amazing small restaurant with reasonable prices and high quality products. Like eating at Your good friends house.

While on vacation, my family and I decided to go to Subres for an Israeli style meal. After a LONG wait, I am disappointed to say that the experience was mixed. The first issue was that it took too long to get our menus. As we sat there, with only one other group in the restaurant, we wondered what was taking so long. Eventually we received our menus, but we started to expect the long wait times ahead. After ordering, we waited another additional hour until our food arrived, which really soured our experience. Even though some of our meals arrived around the one hour mark, others had to wait even longer for theirs, and some of the food was missing certain things. I can say that the food was very good, but not something I would wait an hour and a half for. Overall, I feel that Subres has the ability to be an outstanding restaurant, but lacks the service to push it over the edge. If you are interested in coming, it might be worthwhile to come in small groups, and at hours where the restaurant is mostly empty.

The people are very nice but the food is very low quality. They do not make anything themselves. I have never seen a kosher restaurant not use olive oil they serve soybean oil with the hummus. Usually when you go to a pita restaurant, they give you a huge pita filled with everything. Here they only have lettuce and tomato. Not authentic. Very small portions. I will not return

When dad's in town we eat Kosher, so I'm always looking for something decent. This is one of the best close to Miami beach. The owner is very nice Israeli man. The food was quite good, very large portions. French fries were spot on, and the schwarma was good and unique as well.

Not so great. Although recommended by the owner, the owner right away pushed the soup which was expensive and after ordering it the soup was so spicy I could not eat it. We were served by the owner who was friendly but did not provide professional waiter service but right away added 18% tip which just made the bill not so cheap. Overall I would say the food was just average and the decor the same. Will not go back again. I do not agree with most of the ratings that are positive. Show less
