Yelp
I had high hopes for SOTR, having driven by it many times and seen all the people inside, as well as all the glowing reviews from fellow Yelpers. I was seriously disappointed by the quality and flavor of these subs and didn't even care about finishing mine.
The lines here are a bit long at the lunch rush but given the price point (and I thought the deliciousness), it seemed worth waiting for. The woman in front of me ordered the steak supreme and after the friendly lady behind the counter explained the ingredients, the chicken version sounded right up my alley.
You can get mayo, mustard, ketchup (on a sub???), lettuce, tomato, salt & pepper, oregano and oil & vinegar on your sub. I opted for my typical O&V, Oregano, S&P and tomato, figuring that the chicken, mushrooms, sauteed onions, broccoli, bacon and provolone cheese (they use pasteurized cheese product, not real cheese) that came on my sub would impart lots of flavor. I was wrong. As others said, the chicken is just these tiny pellets of tough breast meat, didn't have much flavor and the rest of the ingredients just added nothing. And for me, the bread was like a pillow that easily fell apart and had no flavor, not good. The price point is outstanding here, so I understand why it seems appealing ($8 for a large 12-inch sub, sides around $2).
I want to give this place another try, but considering after my first experience, I went down the street to Church's Chicken to cleanse my palette with a biscuit...the idea doesn't sound very good...
