Great place for subs! Went with the hubby, he had bacon,egg n chz on white and i had a classic philly cheesesteak w peppers n pepper jack chz. Delicious! Customer service was great, they even went out of their way to explain how the loaded fries were big and to try them out next time. Definitely going back and definitely recommend if you love a good sub

Went in hungry,because we were delivering at Big Lots ( they take forever to unload).I read some good reviews first, and it sounded good! We saw lots of locals entering, and in line for lunch, so that looked impressive! We ordered their footlong pastrami and chicken teriyaki stir fry subs and they were great!! Our combos came with either chips or fries and a fountain drink. The bread was soft and fresh, and the subs were piping hot, and everything tasted fresh! As truck drivers, we get tired of the same ole fast food chains at truck stops and that’s the main reason why I read reviews and make reviews and try some local businesses . It helps everyone !!!! Thanks Substantial Subs and all of the great crew! Hope to be able to come back again!!!

Best Philly cheesesteaks in town. No other place comes close. I get the double meat and cheese and it never disappoints. I'm there every week. Higher recomend it. Just had it again after a while with mushrooms and onions and peppers. Soo good.

I order from this sub place sporadically. It’s not the best but also not the worst. Today I ordered again and about three bites in I noticed that there were pieces of uncooked chicken throughout the sub. I’m pregnant and I’m hoping it doesn’t affect me or the baby so this is very concerning. They should really pay more attention! Will definitely not be ordering from them again

I do not regret trying this place! I was a little confused it being my first time but everyone was great walking me through the process (which I appreciate). They work fast and food was great walked into a full line and everyone taken care of quickly. I was getting an oil change and stumbled walking here but for sure coming back!

Great food till this day! I've ordered here many times and the go-to for me is the JP Bomb (now called the Boss Bomb for the new people) — absolutely packed with flavor and always hits the spot.

This has been my favorite sub place for years now. I have never eaten at the restaurant since my orders are always pick up or delivery. Each time my order is for delivery the sub is fresh, tastes delicious, super juicy, and the order is never wrong! They also package the sub really well so nothing Is out of place before you eat it. I have placed orders for delivery while living in Miami lakes and in Pembroke Pines and regardless of the location the sub remains fresh. The subs are huge!!! Can easily split it between two people. I have also had their seasoned fries and chocolate chip cookies. The chicken sub is my favorite. I have saved half and eaten the other half the next day and it still tastes good. Everyone should try this sub location!

This place is a quick sub stop located off of the Palmetto and 57 Ave. Always busy with customers that mostly come in for lunch. When ordering they pay close attention to how you would like your sub to make it right. Employees are very nice , trying their best to satisfy each customer while keeping it going with the orders. We ordered a regular Philly cheesesteak with the onions green peppers, mushrooms and provolone and it was divine. Also, ordered the honey mustard chicken sub with American cheese and both sandwiches were delicious. Added an order of crinkle seasoned fries which is the perfect marriage with these subs. The size of the subs are pretty big and just enough to heavily fill you. The place is very casual , order at the long counter , stand by while you watch then prepare . There is plenty of seating to choose whether you want to sit in a booth or separate tables and chairs if you come with a group. You choose. This is definitely my go to place when in the mood for a sub and will continue to be their customer as long as they are around.

This place rocks! Looking for a great spot for lunch and not sure where to go- well this spot has you covered. Its subs are prepared and made in front of you- so talk about service huh. The vibe of the staff is very good and the overall ambiance and quality of the food is above expectations. Ordered the very famous Honey Mustard Chicken, and Philly cheesesteak subs. The presentation of the food ordered is on point- fresh and no issues or doubts there. Must I say, they have a dessert of for those cravings afterwards, of small little round cookies!! To die for- so save some space for them, cause your taste buds will be wanting them for sure !

So it gives up north sub shop which is what o believe they going for , quickly made subs while you wait and the have a Sunday morning breakfast special also I think a Wednesday special sub $7.99 I must try, friendly staff and they even wrapped my leftover sub for me, we had some yummy miniature cookies ($2.49) a scoop ) when we left this I will return.

Hot or cold this no frills joint never disappoints. You head to the counter wait in line, order and everything is made right in front of you. Menu is vast, service is quick, food is good. Made to order subs and salads. Their breakfast sandwiches are a favorite. The staff is always enjoyable and friendly. They are happy to customize any order. Perfect spot to grab a bite. Super casual. They have a nice seating area that is always clean.

Great sub sandwiches. They are gigantic and worth every cent. The fries and the breakfast are a hidden treasure. If you want a bang for your buck for breakfast, order the full breakfast with pancakes. The pancakes are thick and full of chocolate chips, and it's a huge, hearty portion for ten bucks. The service is fast and very straightforward. You must know your order before you get to the counter. Everything is very fast-paced, so you must order quickly and move on. The restaurant gets very busy. Dont be deterred by the pace. The food is worth the fast-paced Philly style of ordering food. All of the sandwiches are hearty. I have only been a customer of this restaurant for a bit over a month. However, they serve the best cold Italian sub I have ever eaten in Miami. It's a bit of a hassle for me to get here because of the distance from my house, but Doordash makes up for that. I have made 4 separate orders in the past 4 weeks. and I order 2 subs at a time. I give it the maximum favorable stars. I love their cold Italian sub. (I'm a cold Italian sub freak.} Give it a shot if you love cold Italian subs.

Substantial Subs is like a bohemian hooker. It's dirty, but you can't stop coming back. And in the same way, my wife disapproves of both. The front of the store looks like a website full of popup ads on a 2009 website after you get a bunch of viruses after visiting "those" websites. The design of the interior makes me feel like I'm standing in line in prison just to get my sandwich. Despite the grim appearances, substantial subs has treated me well. The floors and counters may be dirty, but I feel like it adds flavor to the subs and helps my immune system. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and I borderline had an orgasm standing right there in front of the counter. Genuinely one of the best sandwiches around. I took a sub stantial shit in their bathroom that even looked like one of their sandwiches in both size and color. Overall, I would recommend this place for germophobes looking to get out of their comfort zone.

My family and I haven't been here in awhile so we decided to have subs for lunch. I had the Italian cold cut, my husband had a hot sub which was turkey with bacon and our son had the Philly cheese sub. We both had a small order of French fries and a sprite to wash it down with. Their sandwich bread is always fresh and soft. They put enough onions, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise as well as mustard on each sandwich. It was lunch time when we came, but the workers are really fast and they got everyone's order correct and smiled as they prepared the delicious subs. If you are a "Sub Lover" you will definitely love this sub shop. The prices aren't as bad either because the employees give you enough meat and toppings that will definitely fill you up and make you forget about the cost of the subs. They have breakfast subs from 7am to 11am and from 11 am until 9pm Monday through Saturday, they have the different variety subs. They open from 11am to 5pm on Sunday. My family and I will definitely be back. Next time I will choose the healthier and lighter menu which has the garden salads. The chef salad which includes lettuce, tomatoes, onions, black olives, ham, turkey and cheese sounds great. I added photos of subs that myself and other customers ordered.

I came here as a first timer today. First off the sign on the door is hilarious! There's a lot of menu options which I love (lots of future options) they even have breakfast!! Today I had the ham & turkey cold sub and OMG it was delicious!!!! The bread is so soft and their deli meats are bombbb. I'm a big fan of Laspada's in Broward and now that I live in Miami, I gotta say, this competes with them. Oh yeah they have little chocolate chip cookie nibblers that were super yummy too!

Where are you guys finding these employees? I'm an uber eats delivery boy and i had to pick up at SS at 12:05 today, it was very busy so most of the employees were occupied, mistakenly i grabbed my order over the counter and told an employee my order but forgot to show my phone. They called me back to make sure i showed my order on my phone which is fine and i did but on my way out this one employee dirty blonde, arm tattoos, 5'7, green eyes, yelled at me "If you ever grab over my counter again i'll knock you the fuck out!" He said this in front of like 10 witnesses, i'm no lawyer but i'm pretty sure at the very least threatening violence is very bad for business and could cause problems had i decided to argue but i don't engage in things of that sort. There were about 6 customers in line at the time that i'm sure could attest to this but at this moment the only witnesses are the employees at this place which i'm certain would not give away their fellow employee unless one happens to value the quality of their workplace but they all saw it and it's seriously bewildering how a short tempered agressive person is working with people on a constant basis.

Really good cheese steaks. This has become my go to place for Phillies in the area. All the steak is cooked right in front of you when you order, and so are the fries which I can't pass up when I go there. They have a variety of toppings too including hot peppers which I like on my subs but not everyone has. I usually get their footlong cheese steak sub with peppers, onions, and mushrooms, plus small fries, and a drink which ends up being ~$13.50. Not bad considering the sub is so meaty I only end up eating half of it. Staff has always been nice, and very efficient my every visit. They also keep the place tidy and multiple times I've seen them cleaning up after the lunch rush.

Absolutely Substantial! The service was fast. The food was amazing and the check out was seem less. There's a sign that hangs above the order line "line moves fast". I would absolutely agree! I was the only customer at the time of my order but I watched family's and couple come in in droves, while I enjoyed my lunch sitting comfortably in the freshly cleaned booths, and they didn't wait any longer than 5-10 minutes to order and walk out the door!

Home of the rudest MFs on the planet, y'all work at a sub shop, not as a line cook at salt baes restaurant, humble yourselves! Reason behind the 2 stars and not 1 is cos the food is pretty fire, but let me know if y'all need help running a sub shop, cos clearly this ain't the way. I'm not from the area at all but I'm a sub freak that orders a philly cheese for breakfast lol. It was sooooooo good . The menu looked huge staff seemed nice . I will be back for sure !

Ordered the Bomb Sub with ranch and extra cheese on Uber Eats this morning and while I can't comment on their in-restaurant service I can definitely say that their sandwiches are ah-ma-zinggggggg. Initially I didn't realize how large the sandwich would be and I ended up sharing with my picky eater mom who also loved it. The sandwich was still warm and the cheese was melted perfection. The steak was delicious, I've had a few sandwiches that don't have much flavor in the meat but this has great flavor even before the ranch. Definitely going to order from this gem more often. If you pass by here, definitely give it a try Update: I went to the physical location because I realized I was nearby and I wasn't really impressed with the service. The staff wasn't outright unfriendly but they definitely weren't welcoming. The girl at the front had a standoffish demeanor. Kind of confusing which way the line goes and starts since there's no indication. Sandwich was just as good but next time I'll stick to delivery.

A local favorite!! Locals and people from all around come to eat delicious food at a fair price. The service is always great, management is wonderful! Food is always prepared fresh, correct and handled with care! Never a bad meal, a quick and comfortable experience always.

The short little owner or manager of the store is rude. Instead of seeming tough and big, his persona just makes him seem like a coward. Too large a mouth knowing he's the one in the position of power. I used to come here more often. The staff constantly bickering at each other, yelling, and tense. I'm not expecting to be treated like royalty, it's just fast food. But, there should be some sort of people skills standard to be met. I'd avoid this place.

Steak and cheese top notch for sure and they deserve a 5 star rating. Among the best in town and as far as portion size goes you better arrive hungry. Chocolate chip cookies whoa ! I always order some when I get take out and by the time I get home the bag is half empty ( or half full depending on how you see it lol ). Small shop where they really get down to business. The owner on the other hand , while he is definitely making an attempt at good customer service , tends to be a bit cocky and full of himself. Now to his credit he appears to run a tight ship and the food is consistent so I def think you need to try the spot. You will be back for sure.

Pressed for time I decided to pop in on a otherwise busy lunch hour. Unimpressed. 4 young and immature employees behind counter, 3 of whom were too busy watching a youtube video on a phone in front of the grill. The blond cash register employee was rather unpleasant and rude. He couldnt be bothered to assist you. They charge $1 for debt / credit card transactions. On a $6-7; sub. Yup. This is highway robbery! The cheeseburger sub reminded me of Eddie Murphys mamaburger skit. Alot of bread left over. The bathroom was dirty. The fries were thick, flavorless and soggy. You can't mess up a sub yet they managed to. Awful experience overall. Their "take it or leave attitude" left me waning. Ill leave it. Please read the hidden reviews.

I had a chance to try their Chicken Bomb sub, which I must say was scrumptious! But, this is not a very special sub place. It's your typical neighborhood run of the mill sub place. What? You have one? It's a Subway? No no no... you don't understand the difference. I'll admit that Subway toasts their bread, but I'm sure you're well aware that they microwave pieces of chicken or beef. Lord knows what they do with their pork! Anyways, none of that in this place. They'll actually do some real cooking! I think that's enough to make a difference in flavor. I will admit also that this place doesn't take the bread out of the oven piping hot, but when I ate my sub, I couldn't find any reason to complain about the bread. But leave it alone for a while, it's sure to get soggy as the staff really pack up on the ingredients! If Subway gets three stars, this place gets four.

Fast, cheap, and out of control... in a good way. Local cops and linesmen all pile in for good grub made quickly on the grill right in front of you. Not fine dining, but it gets the job done very well. I had the "Fish and Grits" special. It came with two eggs and was almost too much food. I may not have to eat again until a Trig Palin Administration.

Today I-had the worst food service of my life at the above Restaurant ,I spend $30.00 Dollars with tips, One of the kids sandwich was partially cold, asked the cook to warm it up and was told that it wasn't possible, that it happened cause the kid left it on the table for to long, the cook and another helper put their bear hands on it and told me that they were to make a new one after tossing it on the garbage, after about 10 minutes I asked the cook about the sandwich, the Owner, perhaps the manager refused to do another one unless I pay for it, or I can forget it. I guess the Owner doesn't care about it's customers whatsoever and even worst the kids.well SUBSTANTIAL SUB owners you just lost a weekly very unhappy customer, Thank you for the way you care about your customers and specially the kids, hope your family never has to go through the aggravation You makes me go though in front of my kids.

I stopped by for something for breakfasts, and the big breakfast I had was perfect. That's why I ask the staff if they had Yelp. Clarifying to spell it with a T not a C. Big Menu, options. Definitely coming back...

Incompetent staff, they close at 9 I showed up at 810 or so they take my order throw the meat on the grill and 5 minutes later 3 more people show up. The guy tells someone to lock the door lol he proceeds to take the other 3 peoples orders all without ever attending to my steak on the grill 15 minutes later he gets back to attending to my steak never flipped never chopped never anything scoops it up and throws it on a roll. Ok whatever let me pay and get out of this place.. the guy then proceeds to go to the back of the line to attend to his buddy's needs all the while everyone else is looking baffled as they go through the same process I just incurred. After somewhere between 5-10mins of watching my sub sitting there getting cold while I was standing at the register with money in hand. I just said screw it walked to the door unlocked it and left.

Amazing subs, fries and Union rings and most importantly amazing service everyone was very sweet and friendly.

Been coming here for over 7 years and never thought about reviewing it but, was waiting on my food and figured I'd drop a line. These are some of the best hot subs you can find in dade county... the kind of greasy spoon dive that will yell at you if you're not paying attention when they ask what you want and I LOVE that. Will continue to come time and time again.

Very rude and disrespectful. My order was completely undercooked and when I told them about it the employee was very disrespectful and he came around the counter and we ended up fighting. I used to eat here everyday and I'm very disgusted with what occurred.

I usually go there in the morning right before work, if I have time. As soon as I parkmy car, they already know what I want a "colada" and a "tostada", they say when I walk in...lol They're fast, cheap,and very friendly! I would also recommend their Honey Mustard Sub also :)

Massive appreciation for the hard working staff and manager. If you miss the location in Weston and find yourself craving the "chicken bomb" come give this team a go it was worth it. They should open a spot up in Pembroke Pines it would do well!
