Great food, great atmosphere, not many tables, very quiet (except for the couple screaming children that were allowed in the establishment) but other than that the Five course menu was great value for money and simply exquisite. Worth trying out.

Perhaps we had a very high expectation but food was not great in our case. It was good, nothing bad but. However the place in general is nice and I would give a second try. Good wine list and nice staff.

Great menu and excellent service. Was very quiet when we were there as it is a slower time of year for them, but the atmosphere and decor were still great. The 3 and 5 course options give a lot of choice (we had the 3 course and each chose different dishes). Would definitely go back if we’re in Lyon again.

Excellent food. Relaxed setting. Wonderful paired natural wines. The service was excellent- our waiter even describing the wines in English for us after reaching the limit of our French.

We had a lovely dinner. The food was delicious and included flavour combinations new to us. The environment is charming and comfortable. Small but not tight. The service was excellent; attentive, prompt and very informative. We were passing through Lyon so unlikely we will be back any time soon but we would very happily recommend to others.

All I can say is wow. Everything was flavored perfectly, and also very original! Each bite was a sensational surprise, served with local wines. Would highly suggest the wine pairing. Only regrets is we didn’t get the 4 courses only 3!

from all the restaurants that we ate at during our 5 day stay in Lyon, Substrat was by far the best experience that we had. Great service, friendly staff, excellent food well prepared, and the recommended wine was not the most expensive-but well balanced for the meal that we ordered, About 24 seats, so make a reservation
